walexyll: @op you obviously av trust issues...and I am scared you might end up making a wrong decision...the agreement thing is ur best bet here since you don't trust local dealers as well....
My 2cents...you need a little bit of trust to live a great life...everything must not make logical sense every time...u just av to allow ur instinct (6th sense) to drive u sometimes and u will be amazed at how far u go in life I've seen a guy try to sell me a shoe & he swore to the high heavens that its d real deal...only for me to open the official page of d shoe factory to show him the true price...den he started stammering trying to cover up....I've learnt not to trust anybody & still live happily. |

And finally I make sure there's LOGIC in everything I do and I don't bank on trust anymore as I've reserved that word for GOD alone...as long as you're a human being I do not trust you and I NEVER will...nothing personal as I do not expect you to trust me too since I'm not GOD. That way my peace of mind is guaranteed. |

Leopantro: First back started on Friday. Expect zenith bank next
Just wondering, will this affect ATM services as well as online services? Both require Internet access as well as cooling units for the machines and servers. If the banks can't work because of lack of electricity and ISPs having the same fate, do I have to withdraw my money for easier access? This shows it's high time we switched over to clean solar energy. We can't continue to be held ransome by some people...with solar the sun is always available 247. |

thegame: @OP, I have just one question and a piece of advice/suggestion...the bennz you are trying to get, is it vintage and can't be sourced locally or found on nairaland Cos the thing is...If you are not a patient person, pre order is not for you o. And then you have to keep worrying about the dealer and if he will backstab or runaway, or better still, deliver car in not that top notch condition you thought it would be.
Wwhy don't you just wait and search for the car here on nairaland or locally, check out the Vin, pay the person that checks Vin on front page and if car checks out, pay and drive home in peace. This preorder business is good but I'VE BEEN ON NAIRALAND LONG ENOUGH TO KNOW THAT SOONER OR LATER, THAT CAR YOU LONG FOR EVENTUALLY SHOWS UP ON SOMEONE'S THREAD, sometimes even cheaper and neater.
Cheers No its just a C320 benz...my problem is dat most rides in naija have been accidented in naija & then repaired to be sold back at cheap prices....a carfax can't see any problem with the VIN....thus I shy away from Naija products...i'm just gonna settle down with my close neighbour in Texas jarey....no wahala. |

freshvine: Ask Kakakibuy to give you 3 referees of his close relatives if he is not based in Nigeria.
The references must be married with children and one amongst them must be a doctor or a pastor /Imam, village head, or a civil servant. That's the person you will be transacting with on behalf of Kakakibuy.
1.Ask your lawyer to draft an agreement ( some lawyer collect as little as 10k.
2. Get Kakakibuy representative to sign it on his behalf and hand your money to him/her.
Now you have someone to hold liable should Kakakibuy mess up.
Finally come here and give testimony. I need Rx330 before this year runs out Wise post...you know how I can get a lawyer for this? |

Ardenb: Yea sure...the law in this country does not protect wives against marital rapes but then lets say there are many ways to kill a rat. Women do not forgive and forget that sort of thing easily, she may stay in the marriage most likely but the man will pay one way or the other. How about you checking on men who have done such to their wives to see how their lives turned out afterwards. All I am trying to say is that the law does not protect females does not make it the right thing to do. The woman will exert her revenge her own way when she is ready.
Oh and a guy can be raped too...his d..k can stand against his will when some certain things are done to it, a strong d..k is not consent always.
That said, @themodernman I am a huge fan of GOT, its top in my series list. Sansa is strong hearted, I really do want to see her get justice. Oh and I wish Ramsey Bolton a slow, painful and miserable death. Lols...stop proving what is not recognized by the law. The only situation a strong dick isn't consent is what is called Priapism. |

Coolcash1: Its so disheartening that we can't do business again on trust in this country. Whilst, i quite understand the OP's fear just to make sure someone does not swindle him of his hard earned money, I still look forward to a day when buyers on this platform will do business with car dealers without any fear or suspicion.
I know of someone who bought a range rover of over US$40K online via yahoo autos without coming in contact with the seller. From initiation of the deal to execution the white guy was sending pics and updating him on the status of car. The time he gave for delivery did not change. All what the person saw in the picture was what he saw on taking delivery of the vehicle. The point is if such international transaction could be successfully then, what stops same from happening locally especially between nairalanders. My brother....if you ask me, na who I go ask I no fit come here come share stories that touch... |
