simplyOJ: Asking for the details of salaries of our Parliamentarians is a good start. I also pity them because their own salaries & allowances has been exposed to publc scrutiny over time, hence people can always point at them at any point in time. If only people know what is going on in the Executive arm, you will come to know that, that of the legislature is child's play. It just happens that the Legislators are our representatives and they seems to be the only avenue for now we can easily ventilate our frustrations and anger from that comes from the system. Kudos to the youth, we can always begin from somewhere. Are you serious? The legislature have been getting away with blue murder! All eyes are on the executive. The executive can't collect such crazy salaries. They could be corrupt, but they cannot legitimately allocate such allowances to themselves. The salaries and allowances of. the executive is public knowledge including that of the president. Like I said before, ministers and other members of the executive can only make money through kickbacks and stuff like that, not through outrageous allowances and allocations like the nass. |
oyb: http://www.nanngronline.com/section/general/fct-minister-says-rail-project-will-speed-up-development-in-abujaYou keep showing that your hatred has made you completely ignorant and real dolt! Read the topic again slowly! It says "construction starts on 12 trains stations", not on rail tracks. The rail track pictures is just to show that that work is already on going. But you seem too daft to understand! Train stations dont need up to two years to be built. They can be completed in 1 year or a little over 1 year. You are trying so hard to be intelligent but you always keep coming on short. The topic says works starts on train stations so obviously, there are no serious pictures yet to post for the train station, so he posted the prototype. You call it lies but Lagos to Kano is already on. PH to Maiduguri will start december. Also Enugu to PH to Kaduna will also start. No one needs your opinion. You can keep on posting your hatred, it will not change anything. At the respective dates, each one will be launched and you will keep looking like the dolt you are. Maybe you will go to the trains and stations and annouce to the passengers inside that it is a lie and that the FG is fooling them as the trains they are sitting in does not exist in reality, only on paper! |
Demdem: if only u took time to check past posts on this thread, u would have seen that Tinubu has always called for SNC and not NC. use ur brain and stop talking crap.Get your big head off Tinubu's ..$%$$^%! You are smelling badly! ![]() |
emiye: It is meant for agents of deception like you to keep shut.To keep shut? Most of you talk like primary school kids! Who are you to tell someone to keep shut? A small ant like you? ![]() |
engrfcuksmtin: I doubt your story cos I belong to the system Ahmad Bello University to be precise. Yes 30billion Naira was shared amongst the universities. As a matter of fact ABU was given over 2billion but it has not been paid to lecturers because they will have to calculate what to be paid to each person (responsibility allowance for those holding positions, excess work load, external examiners allowance, harzard allowance and so on). Also it is not possible for somebody that did not work for 4 years to be paid arears of earned allowances for four years no vice chancellor will do that in Nigeria. Yes there was a verification exercise proposed by the federal government towards transferring the payment of salaries directly from Ministry of Finance, ASUU refused to partake in the exercise because resident doctors that did are suffering for the failure of the proposed system.Look bro. There is still a lot that should be done in Nigerian universities but 1. It will take time 2. The state governments are responsible for the state universities. ASUU demanding for FG money for state universities is absurd 3. I went to university for 6 years. ASUU has never fought for the improvement of Nigerian universities. Please stop using that 419 line to support the strike. They are fighting for their pockets |
emiye: GEJ is a coward who will never call for a sovereign national conference, the national conference he has called for in the words of Tinubu is simply diversionary and deceptiveDo you actually believe that increasing the font size has improved your post? ![]() |
emiye: there is a whole lot of difference between Sovereign National Conference and National Conference.Where in Tinubu's statement yesterday did he say the reason he is opposed to it is because it is not sovereign? If your point was valid, shouldn't he have stated that GEJ did not meet the requirements and he should change it to Sovereign National Conference as he earlier advocated? Do you call for its abortion because it is not sovereign or you call for a correction to meet what you earlier clamored for? You guys are clowns! You are not even helping Tinubu at all! ![]() |
Jonathan’s objection to Sovereign National Conference is wrong -Tinubu 18/02/2012 03:25:00 Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) National Leader, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, yesterday objected to the claim by President Goodluck Jonathan that a Sovereign National Conference (SNC) is unnecessary because he has set up a committee chaired by Justice Alfa Belgore to work on a new constitution. He said the convocation of the conference is imperative, adding that sovereignty belongs to the people of Nigeria. Tinubu stressed: “We want Sovereign National Conference. Nigerians who voted for the President have the right to demand for the convocation of the conference, and not that the President should select some people to make the constitution. Sovereignty belongs to the people.” Tinubu also said that the unity of the country must not be sacrificed on the altar of religion, warning those fanning the embers of disunity to spare a thought for nation-building. The former Lagos State governor spoke at Ilesa, Osun State, where he was turbaned as the Agbaakin-Adinni of Ijesaland by the Muslim community. The impressive ceremony, which was witnessed by statesmen, captains of industry, politicians, top government officials, friends, associates and admirers, held at Okesa Praying Ground in the ancient town. At exactly 2.10 pm, the turbaning ceremony was performed by the chairman of the occasion and Aaare Musulumi of Yorubaland, Alhaji Arisekola Alao; the Asiwaju Adinni of Yorubaland, Alhaji Badmus Adekilekun and other top clerics from Yorubaland. Also in attendance were foremost traditional rulers, including the paramount ruler of Ijesaland, Oba Adekunle Aromolaran; the Timi of Ede, Oba Muirudeen Lawal; Olufon of Ifon, Oba Aderemi Adedapo; Oba Magbagbeola Adekunle; the Aragberi of Iragberi, Oba Sunkanmi Olagberuade; the Olobu of Ilobu, Oba Asiru Olatoye; the Elerin of Erin, Oba Yesufu; the Oloigi of Oigi, Oba James Adeleke; the Oru of Ijebu-Oru, Oba Muniru Basorun; Oba Taofik Olaposi; Oba Tajudeen Adetunji and Oba Adesanya Ilesanya. Tinubu also received the insignia of the title as well as a certificate and staff of office amid a loud ovation by dignitaries. As he moved forward to receive them, shouts of “Jagaban Borgue, Asiwaju of Lagos and Aare of Ile-Oluji” filled the air. At 1.45 pm, Tinubu, who had landed in Ilesa in a chopper, stormed the venue with pump, accompanied by Osun State Governor, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola and his wife, Sherifat, Senator Bayo Salami, and Secretary to Osun State Government, Alhaji Moshood Adeoti. He was decked in a light cream agbada, with a brown cap and shoe to match. He walked briskly, waving at the crowd as he moved from one spot to the other within the crowded venue to pay homage to traditional rulers, community elders, Muslim clerics and other guests. After exchanging greetings with many guests on the expansive field, he fell into the warm embrace of Aare Arisekola, who shared the high table with him and other guests. Welcoming dignitaries to the ceremony, the Chairman of Ijesa Muslim Community, Alhaji Dhikirulahi Sanni, explained that the title was bestowed on Tinubu in recognition of his roles during Aregbesola’s battle to reclaim his stolen mandate from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). He also recalled that Tinubu played a major role in the reconstruction of Ilesa Central Mosque, saying that he sent money to the building committee to make progress on the project. Dhikitulahi added: “We also appreciate your antecedents and contributions to the emancipation of the down-trodden since your days as NADECO chieftain, senator and governor. You fought to sack the PDP cabals from Ekiti, Osun, Ogun, and Oyo states. Our people have never had it so good since the enthronement of democratic rule.” He appealed to Tinubu to assist in the implementation of the laudable projects of the community, especially the hospital project recently embarked upon by the faithful. The Chairman of the Chieftaincy Committee of the association, Isa Azeez, said: “Asiwaju is a warrior for the masses. He fought war and liberated the Yoruba from bondage. I pray for long life and prosperity for you. We want you to assist us in the implementation of our projects here.” Arisekola Alao, who eulogised the host, enjoined him to always thank God for giving him power, fame and honour, adding that the honour done to him was a honour to all the Muslim faithful in Yorubaland. He called for religious unity and tolerance among the various sects, stressing that those who blame Islam for the Boko Haram onslaught are mischievous. The Aare Musulumi urged Muslims, Christians and adherents of traditional religion to continue to live in peace in Yorubaland in the interest of peaceful coexistence in the region. He traced the genesis of Islam in the Southwest, saying that the roles of Mallam Quadri Akinniyi, Sheidu Oogun, Abe Momodu, Umoru Sarumi, Seriki Owoeye and Orikesinro would not be forgotten. He also praised all those who had contributed to the growth of the religion, praying Allah to bless and reward them appropriately. He cautioned against using Islamic titles to boost personal ego, stressing that it is a divine call to the service of Allah. Alao, therefore, advised the Muslim community in Yoruba land to bestow titles on Governors Babatunde Fashola (Lagos State), Abiola Ajimobi (Oyo), Ibikunle Amosun (Ogun) and Rauf Aregbesola (Osun), assuring that they would promote the cause of Islam and welfare of the people. The Muslim leader applauded the achievements of the ACN governors and admonished them to create more employments for youths, who he described as leaders of tomorrow. Turning to Tinubu, he advised the new Agbaakin Adinni to dedicate himself to the service of the people. At the ceremony were the deputy governor of Osun State, Otunba Titilayo Laoye; Senator James Kolawole; Senator Jide Omoworare; Dr. Olu Agunloye; Prof. Ajayi Boroffice; Hon. Bola Akinterinwa; Mrs. Jumoke Anifowose; the Speaker of Lagos State House of Assembly, Yemi Ikuforiji; his Oyo State counterpart, Mrs. Monsurat Sunmonu; Alhaji Tajudeen Bello; Alhaji Lanre Rasak; Alhaji Lateef Raji; Hon. Sola Akinwumi; Segun Famodun; Chief Alami Macfoy; Lowo Adegbuyi; Peter Babalola and Kunle Famoriyo. Others include Adetilewa Sijuwade; Layi Oyeduntan; Mrs. Modupe Awodogan Sola Iji; Akintunde Adegboye; Dr. Samuel Olulade; Bayo Osinnowo; James Faleke; Jide Kosoko; Segun Adekola; Timothy Owoeye; Toyin Omidiran; Hon. Famurewa; Bola Ilori; Sunday Akere; Dr. Muiz Banire; Israel Adekunle; Hon. Olabinjo; Ipoola Omisore; Toun Adediran; Segun Adetola and Sola Lawal. Muslim clerics at the ceremony were the Chief Imam of Osogbo, Alhaji Mustapha Ajisafe; his Ilesa counterpart, Alhaji Kareem Elesinnla who delivered the opening prayer and Alhaji Dhikirulahi Sanni, The host caretaker chairmen, whose banners welcomed the guests to the venue were Isa Azeez (Ilesa East); Lanre Balogun (Ilesa West); Segun Olanibi (Ilesa West); Disu Oyedele (Atakumosa East); Dr. Gbenga Ogunleye (Obokun) and Taiwo Fatiregun (Oriade). Tinubu, who described the day as a day of thanksgiving, paid tribute to the Owa of Ijesaland, His Prime Minister Obanla Ogedengbe; Alhaji Arisekola Alao; Ijesa leaders and clerics, and well-meaning people in Osun State for the honour bestowed on him. He also thanked Dr. Banire, who he described as a worthy ACN chieftain and lawyer who played a prominent role in the liberation battle in Osun State, which culminated in the restoration of Aregbesola’s stolen mandate. Tinubu thanked the members of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) at the ceremony, especially Pastor Enock Familusi, saying that their presence signified religious unity in Ijesaland. He said he would contribute to the successful implementation of the projects embarked upon by the Ijesa Muslim Community for the benefit of the people. Praising Arisekola Alao for his gestures, he said: “I stand on what Alhaji Arisekola has said. I am a politician. I was born in Islam. But since I became a politician, I kept my religion in my room. As a politician, I accommodate all religions. In Yorubaland, we must make religion to develop our society and employ wisdom to move towards progress.” The ACN leader said he was also guided by the Bible, from which the party derived the inspiration to make broom its symbol. Quoting Isaiah 14:23 and 24, he said: “The broom of destruction will be used for those that are dishonest.” Tinubu congratulated the people of Osun State, saying that God has given them a good and responsible government that has started combating unemployment through various intervention programmes. He hailed the new dawn in the state, which he said had taken off, following the ouster of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) from power. Flaying the PDP leaders, Tinubu said: “PDP consumes resources. In fact, they park all the resources into their pockets to the detriment of the masses. PDP has no mercy. May God deliver Nigeria from them.” Tinubu spoke on the negative media report about his health, saying that his enemies peddled falsehood. He said: “They have paralysis of the mind. They do not want anything good for the country. You have done well by sweeping them out of Osun State. We should sweep them out of Nigeria.” The former governor chided President Jonathan for attempting to divide the country, using the antics of ethnicity and religion. He said: “The President should stop dividing Christians and Muslims. The country has never been so divided like this. We must promote unity in diversity for economic prosperity and not for economic adversity. “The nation is divided. It is not good to yield to the agents of destruction. PDP has no programme for the people. They want to divide the country. We must not let them do that. We must reject the idea that one religion is greater than the other. Those exploiting our differences to make money and build a master-servant relationship should stop it. No ethnic or religious group is greater than the other.” Tinubu maintained that the clammour for a Sovereign National Conference is in order, objecting to the remarks by the President that the agitation is not necessary, following the setting up of the constitution review panel. Praising Tinubu, Aregbesola said he is a credible leader grooming the younger generation for leadership. He added: Asiwaju does not ask for any favour from those of us he brought to eminent positions. Rather, he keeps telling us to work for the progress of the people, and not for the benefit of ourselves. “I am happy that the Muslims in Ijesaland have recognised these virtues and that is why they conferred on him the title: Agbaakin Adinni, which means ‘the leader of the valiant’. He is committed to the restoration of the rule of law and good governance in the country. The progress should spread to Ondo, Kogi, Kwara and Benue soon.” http://www.thenationonlineng.net/2011/index.php/news/37147-jonathan%E2%80%99s-objection-to-sovereign-national-conference-is-wrong-tinubu.html Please advise this man to stop taking that thing! ![]() |
Tinubu calls for Sovereign National Conference 25/11/2011 00:30:00 Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) National Leader Asiwaju Bola Tinubu has said only a Sovereign National Conference (SNC) would save the weakening pillars of Nigeria as a federal entity. He spoke at the first Anthony Enahoro Memorial Lecture at the Benin Club, Benin City, Edo State, yesterday. Represented by Ekiti State Deputy Governor Mrs Funmi Olayinka, Tinubu said: “I submit to you today that because of the multiple issues surrounding our skewed federalism and constitutional flaws, the Nigerian nation is weak. “Unless we move to strengthen it through dialogue and equity, we will remain a nation in mere words.” The ACN leader said fixing the national pillar would entail a robust people-driven debate, insisting that any artificial tinkering of the present constitution would fall short. He said: “The 21-member Presidential Committee on the Review of Outstanding Constitutional Issues (PCROCI) recently set up by President Goodluck Jonathan falls short. “It is a backdoor approach to the issue of national conference. In memory of Chief Enahoro we must convoke a national conference. It would provide a platform to address our pressing concerns.” He said it was ironic that Nigeria once a product of dialogue at independence now has leaders who avoid robust dialogue state policy. But he stated that free and unfettered dialogue holds the key to Nigeria’s rebirth. “The people ought to be consulted on the issue of subsidy. We ought to have a referendum on the question, not only of oil subsidy but also on sovereign wealth fund as well as the proposed one-term of seven years proposed by President Goodluck Jonathan,” he said. Tinubu said federalism as a development paradigm for a multi-national country was no mere labelling, adding that it assures both economic and political fairness. “Our economic system is supposed to be open and fair. But it is even more slanted and biased than the political system,” he told the audience. “We do not operate a free and fair merit-based economy. We operate a feudal economy, where those in power decide by the whim of the moment who becomes rich and who stays poor.” He regretted, however, that the military’s over-centralisation had arrested growth and stunted development. “This has not only stalled development, it has affected recurrent and capital expenditure. “This fuels corruption at the centre and makes the system a mockery of development. “It gives a winner-takes-all quality to the presidential election. This is wrong. That is why progressives have been calling for fiscal federalism,” Tinubu said http://www.thenationonlineng.net/2011/index.php/news-update/27491-tinubu-calls-for-sovereign-national-conference.html Tinubu Advocates Sovereign National Conference Date: 24 November 2011 Nothing short of a sovereign national conference (SNC) will save the weakening pillars of Nigeria as a federal entity, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, former governor of Lagos and national leader of the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN), has said. Speaking at the 1st Anthony Enahoro Memorial Lecture at the Benin Club, Benin City, Edo State, Asiwaju Tinubu, represented by Mrs Funmi Olayinka, deputy governor of Ekiti State, he declared: “Ladies and gentlemen, I submit to you today that because of the multiple issues surrounding our skewed federalism and constitutional flaws, the state of the Nigerian nation is weak. Unless we move to strengthen it through dialogue and equity,” he warned, “we will remain a nation in mere words.” The former Lagos governor added that fixing the Nigerian national pillar would entail a robust people-driven debate, insisting that any artificial tinkering of the present constitution would fall short. “The 21-member Presidential Committee on the Review of Outstanding Constitutional Issues (PCROCI) recently set up by President Goodluck Jonathan falls short,” he told the cheering audience. “It is a backdoor approach to the issue of national conference. In memory of Chief Enahoro,” he added, “we must convoke a national conference. It should provide a platform to address our pressing concerns.” He said it was ironic that Nigeria that was a product of dialogue at independence has leaders that now seem to make the avoidance of robust dialogue state policy. But he stated that free and unfettered dialogue held the key to Nigeria’s rebirth. “The people ought to be consulted on the issue of subsidy. We ought to have a referendum on the question, not only of oil subsidy but also on sovereign wealth fund as well as the proposed one-term of seven years proposed by President Goodluck Jonathan,” he said. Returning to what he called addressing “our pressing concerns”, Asiwaju Tinubu said the foremost of those was the federal question, which he explains should be the restructuring of the country along true and vibrant federal lines. He added that unlike the misconceptions in most quarters, restructuring was more of an economic than a political question, since it stresses the funnelling of resources to where they can best develop the country and deliver prosperity. Asiwaju Tinubu said federalism as a development paradigm for a multi-national country was no mere labelling, adding that it assures both economic and political fairness. “Our economic system is supposed to be open and fair. But it is even more slanted and biased than the political system,” he told the audience. “We do not operate a free and fair merit-based economy. We operate a feudal economy, where those in power decide by the whim of the moment who becomes rich and who stays poor.” Going back memory lane, he recalled how Chief Obafemi Awolowo, as early as 1947, had recommended the federal formula for an independent and prosperous Nigeria. He said though competitive federalism worked in the first six years of independence, he blamed the military for rolling back that developmental formula which, he added, they had replaced with a sterile unitary system, after their command mentality. He regretted, however, that the military over-centralisation had arrested growth and stunted development. “This has not only stalled development, it has affected recurrent and capital expenditure. This fuels corruption at the centre and makes the system a mockery of development,” he explained. “It gives a winner-takes-all quality to the presidential election. This is wrong. That is why progressives have been calling for fiscal federalism.” Asiwaju Tinubu said a Nigeria restructured along federal lines would avoid the pitfall of hitherto solid nations like Yugoslavia, Czechoslovakia and former USSR who later broke up because of intra-national dissonance and tension. The ACN national leader urged a re-think of the presidential system, aligning with the late Enahoro’s view that the parliamentary system of government should be reconsidered. http://bolatinubu.org/?p=128 This man never well finish! maclatunji: ^Your attempts at shifting responsibility from the leaders to the followers is as audacious as it is dubious. There has never been a time in history when societies succeeded by laying their responsibilities on their leaders. Any society that places the responsibility for their progress on their leaders will always fail! Go take some history classes bro! |
maclatunji: To whom much is given, much is expected. Like Atiku Abubakar said: "A fish starts to rot from the head."I want to ask you a sincere question. How much pain did you feel when you heard students were massacred in their sleep. How many days did you mourn personally? All the so called online critics of government simply came online, posted something to insult government and went about their normal life of drinking wine and clubbing. In another country, people will be sober for days. Please look in the mirror and you will see a guy who needs to change just like everyone else. |
Gombs: Your tithe goes to the order of Priesthood...to the order of Mechizedek . When folks during Samuel's time paid tithes, did they pay it to samuel or to the order of priesthood? Please I have two questions for you: 1. What is the priesthood in the new testament? 2. Who is the priest that will collect your tithe in the new testament 3. Which of the tithes are you referring to, because there were 3 kinds of tithes for your information |
The biggest proof yet that tithing is not scriptural, is the length of this thread. There is no basic and fundamental doctrine among believers who are born again that will require this much argument. Non. The reason there is this much argument is simply that tithe was not instructed or commanded but certain people had to go dig it from somewhere to make it a doctrine. Question is, why did they go dig it? Your guess is as good as mine |
maclatunji: In essence, you would blame the people rather than the leaders who continually plunder and enrich themselves. The first error of your statement is that you think the people and the leaders are different. Until you hit yourself in the head with a mace and wake up from that sleeping position, you will never make progress! Nigeria has never being ruled by a foreigner since 1960! |
PointB: Bluntly speaking, if they could afford a chartered craft to ferry the dead, they should have at least gone for pretty better one.You know these guys like to throw fake statistics around and they always dwell on the negative because it gives them an escape route for their failures. For example, compare and contrast the following statements 1. Nigeria has about 160 million population but 2. They say 80% of Nigerians live on 1 dollar a day 3. Nigeria has over 110 million active telephone lines 4. Over 50 million Nigerians have Internet access via their phones 5. Nigerians spend over 5 billion daily on recharge cards. 6. Nigerian urban cities like Abuja, Lagos and PH are expanding astronomically. Lagos has practically merged with Ogun. (Maybe our politicians are the ones living in all the new houses being built! )So who are these people on less than a dollar a day? |
ballabriggs: Why does Thatcher's case not have any bearing here? In Western Societies built on freedom of choice, it is not uncommon to see people being unsympathetic over ones death. It is their choice, there is nothing you can do about it.It is ridiculous that you always blame cultural flaws and bad value system on poverty! Shame! |
berem: You absolutely don't know what you're talking about. Stop eating too much of Octopus my friend!I understand you have to keep your ego. No qualms. Lets leave it like that. How market? ![]() |
ballabriggs: Mr, there were loads and loads of people who had no sympathy for Tatcher in death. Those who felt excluded by her policies, most especially in the north of England, Yorekshire and the Liverpool areas where the mine workers did reside. As can be seen from Tatcher's case, is that such lack of sympathy is inherent when people feel they have been excluded in a society. In the case of Nigeria where majority have been excluded by leadership, such traits will surely exist. How do you sincerely expect majority of people who cannot afford air travel to sympathise with victims of an air accident who they see as their oppressors. The joke is on you Omokri!1. Thatcher's case does not even have any bearing on our discussion because Thatcher is just one case. I just replied her because I wanted to show her her short sightedness. I refered to a mindset and practice that spans more than half the entire country and is something that we do, not just to politicians but even to our family members. We eat, drink and dance in burial ceremonies of even our family and friends. It has no connection with the thatcher story. 2. The Britons as a people dont do that in their burial ceremonies. The point is simple enough, I dont need to stretch it. The argument is baseless |
berem: What is this one yapping? My dear Berem, 800 people cannot be classified as "the Britons". Which kind school you go sef! ![]() Celebration of deaths I talked about is a practice that spans the whole of what we call southern Nigeria and middle belt. Only core Northern Nigeria can be exempted! Na wa! ![]() |
Clerverly: Did anyone else notice that this Never-Do-well mentioned 40 years while conveniently leaving out the last 13years of PDP misruleYou just proved, you are a truly dishonest NIgerian! Did I say 40 years from 1999 going backwards? Very dishonest chap you are! ![]() |
berem: Why are you lying? What happened in the UK when Margaret Thatcher was to be buried? Didn't the Britons celebrate her death and threaten to pelt her coffin with eggs and stones? What? Some people who dont like Margaret Thatcher are now the Britons? You no dey disappoint!!! |
The @op is wrong. Nigerians are insentitive people. It is not a result of what they feel politicians have done to them. In fact, it is the other way around. It is because of their insensitivity that politicians could do such damage over a 40 year period. Starting from our streets, no one cares for the other person. Especially in urban cities like Lagos or PH. If you ask people on your street to come out so you all go and besiege the PHCN office to handle a transformer problem, no one will come out. When there is a national disaster and hundreds of lives are lost, people feel little or no remorse. They just say eyah, and continue with their jobs and beer parlor things. In other countries I have been to, people mourn for days on their own when they see such disasters. One simple thing that will tell you that Nigerians are insensitive people is this: Nigeria is the only country I know, where people drink and eat and celebrate when someone dies. Burial ceremonies are always a solemn thing everywhere in the world, but in Nigeria, people drink themselves to stupor and dance like its a birthday bash. I find it a little disturbing that we have lost our values in Nigeria but everyone wants to lay the blame on politicians. Politicians themselves are simply fellow Nigerians who also have the same crooked value system like the rest of us, including everyone on this thread! The false claim that every politician is a child of the rich is always laughable. 70% of politicians I know came from poor backgrounds. They have become as corrupt and sometimes even more wicked, than politicians from rich homes. We all need to look hard into the mirror. Until we all accept that we are the problem, it will never change. The corruption on NL alone is a proof of my position |
agbameta: OBJ failed, but he started the GEREGU series and commissioned GEREGU 1How I wish you know how silly you appear when you make posts like these? How do you think the readers on the thread actually feel when they read stuff like these. It smacks of childish bitterness and pettiness. OBJ was a failure. There is a house of rep investigation that cataloged all his failures as far as power was concerned. Do you think your rants here can change that report? Well, thank you for one thing. The more you type stuff like these, the more you make the neutrals realize that you and your gang have been criticizing GEJ out of hatred all this while. You are actually doing a good job. Oshe! ![]() |
Gombs: Heheh I see aw you dodged that questionYou have delved into grave error and heresy with every post you post. 1. If Melchizedek is alive for evermore like Jesus and according to you, his priesthood is like Jesus, then we have two everlasting high priests running in parallel. That is serious heresy you have posted there. You have created for yourself, an immense problem. So as we speak, Jesus is not the only high priest. If that is true, the whole message of salvation falls like a pack of cards. There were never two high priests in Israel. There were many priests but never two high priests. If you have two high priests running parallel today, who do we go to for salvation. What you do not understand obviously is the function of the high priest. 2. Because you are trying so hard to justify your collection of tithes, you have twisted scriptures in dangerous ways. When the bible talked about Melchizedek not having beginning and end, he wasnt equating him with deity. He was talking clearly about his genealogy. But you cant see that because you are bent on justifying your tithe collection. Sad! |
Symphony007: Can any jonathan supporter who have commented on this thread, tell me anything they disagree with him on?Let me obliged you and assume for once that you are sincere and that you didnt take 6 bottles of your usual, lol 1. There is no one I have ever seen or read that have said GEJ is perfect and never makes mistakes. 2. There is no policy of government anywhere in the world, no matter how laudable, that doesnt have a short coming. Even landing in the moon came with short comings and there where those who criticized the crazy amount America spent just to land on the moon that has no significant benefit so far for mankind But when you open a thread and the first thing you type are insults upon insult on GEJ, why do you expect anyone to take you serious? If you see a government policy or action and you think there are issues that need to be addressed, then by all means, we can discuss it. But here is a short list of what GEJ has done and your corresponding responses: GEJ's achievements Your responses 1. FOI bill signed into law: It is not our immediate problem! They are deceiving us! Is that what we need now? It is fake! 2. Rails being revamp and trains working again: What kind of outdated trains are these. They must have spent 1 trillion! They are deceiving us! 3. Airports remodelled and commisioned: Is airport our problem? It is a lie, show us pictures! The pictures are photoshoped! It looks like a bicycle park in the USA 4. 100s of Almajiri schools built: It is a lie! Is that our problem? Why didnt he built model schools for them? 5. No more fertilizer fraud in the agric sector: They are lying to us! We dont need fertilizer, we need jobs! |
One thing that really bothers me about this discuss is that I see that some of these guys are really dishonest and would twist scriptures to support their dishonesty. I am not really surprised because this was prophesied in the bible concerning the last days. Their God is their belly. They worship money and they now measure spiritual growth and success in monetary terms. That is why they are claiming a doctrine for the new covenant believer is established by an act of someone in the old testament. It is totally ridiculous but that is what you would expect from people trying to use the scriptures for gain. The only way they can really sustain this their tithing doctrine is to claim it is some sort of deep revelation. They are denying the simplicity of the gospel and trying to bind men in shackles of "phantom revelations". Why cant they just stick to the simplicity of the gospel? The simple reason is that it would never support their materialistic doctrines and merchandizing of the gospel! |

Lagos is expanding at astronomical speed with houses and estates being built everyday and new cars selling like pure water. ask them how many cars have been added to their church car Parks in the last two years? they are just bitter sadists working for their political masters |
You know what I like about all these APC gang and their "pull everything down because it is GEJ " posts? it's the fact that it is on record that this was what they did when the country was trying to move forward. Google will hound them at the right time. We will show to them that they never contributed to the transformation but instead, they were opposed to it and did everything to pull it down. that will make them an insignificant minority. that will make our victory sweeter. |
Bidam: I don't go about like you condemning those that practice the sabbath, that is what i am trying to tell you all the time.let Christ be the judge of His church not you.We have thousands of denominations who don't even tithe but you will never see them condemning those who do.The central core of our message is Christ not tithes. And that is why Paul said circumcision is nothing, uncircumcision is nothing..KEEPING OF GOD'S COMMANDMENTS IS WHAT MATTERS.If Christ is the judge of the church and we shouldnt say anything, why did Paul rebuke Peter? Why did Paul rebuke the Corinthian brethren? You keep contradicting yourself and flip flopping from left to right. The word of God is the standard for every believer. Anything outside of it is wrong and there is absolutely nothing wrong in saying it out. Like I said before and very clearly, if you decide to give 100% of your money to the church, I have no problem with it and the bible is not against it. But you cannot form a doctrine out of it and tell the brethren to follow it or the devourer will bite them or something. You are actually guilty of what you are talking about. Those of you preaching tithe are the ones asking people to follow a doctrine or else. I am the one telling them they only need to do things by free will, not compulsion. So wish of us is actually condemning men. Clearly you. You are the one preaching a gospel of condemnation. You are the one telling men their prosperity is based on what they give. You are the one preaching works. If a man decides to observe a sabbath, that is his decision. But if he preaches that as a prerequisite to getting something from God, then he is in error and out of grace. That is what you are doing. You are actually making me repeat myself over and over again, but I am very patient with you so you can come out of your wrong ways. Stop compelling people to give. Stop telling them their lives depend on what they give. Stop putting them under compulsion and pressure. It is wrong Galatians 6:1 6 Brethren, if a man be overtaken in a fault, ye who are spiritual restore such a one in the spirit of meekness, considering thyself, lest thou also be tempted. So you see, we are commanded to speak to people like you so you can change your ways |
Bidam: Ok.God is wrong and you are right grin. Can scriptures be broken?I know why you give funny statements like these. You are one of those pastors extracting money from people. I can see where you are coming from...hmmm ![]() |
idnoble135: You are entitled to your opinion.I am sorry bro. I am a Christian, A believer in Christ Jesus. What matters to me is what the bible says, not what makes you or I feel good. Not what makes human sense, sounds nice or brings results. That something works for you doesn't make it right. Moses struck a rock, water came out, but God was angry with Moses because of it and Moses could not enter the promised land. Right or wrong is not determined by the result. It is determined by what the bible says it is. Remember Jesus said, some will say Lord I did so and so in your name, but he will say, I know you not. He didnt say they were lying. They actually did it in his name. I have advised you to go read Revelation 1-3. It is a direct message from Jesus to the church. It is a message that many of your pastors would not preach because they are afraid, people will leave their churches. It is the bare truth. Many will miss heaven because they are engrossed in a life of materialism and money worship. |
