Matrix137:
Dear Nairalanders, so I was born in Nigeria and have lived all my life in this country till this moment ( I'm 22 now). However, my aunt based in United States has offered to bring me to the country. Processing my documents already.

However I'm scared I may put me or her family in trouble when I get there cos America is a civilized country and I'm used to the crude ways and behaviors here which is already part of me and will likely replicate them in America which will surely put me in trouble with the law.

Behaviors like urination on the streets, throwing garbage on the road and many uncivilized behaviors too numerous to mention. So please how do I Behave myself over there. Thanks for reading.
Simply drop the indisciplined Nigeria characters and way of life. BUT you must carry Nigerian sense every where you go.

Datti is a terrible character.

He is an extremist with an evil heart.

Even as a senator, he was the only out of 109 to propose a bill for homosexuals and others under the LGBT umbrella to be killed.

He literally gave a lengthy talk on the floor of the national assembly about why gay people should be killed. His colleagues, fellow legislators, who are extreme in their own way were shocked at the level of Datti's extremism.

With Datti's antecedent, no developed nation of the world would trust him in public office.

When I reflect during leisure hours sometimes, I wonder why "progressive generation Z" in Nigeria let the anti human rights proposals Datti made in the past to slide.

Was it really about progress, positive change or something else?

"Suspended on nothing" could mean it's just floating inside a huge ocean.

IFA creation accounts never mentioned the Earth was a globe either. I think the people back then would have found it odd to have to mention that the earth was flat, since that was what everyone believed. Trust me, your ancestors did not think the earth was a globe.
The universe is round like an egg, just like IFA divination plate. But the earth is more flat that being round like the universe.

We don't have cultural problems. We have external cultural influences on our culture which contribute to culture dynamism. Travels, migration, intermarriage, intertrade, etc are all factors.
Some time i wonder why we africans give all credit to the white. Have you asked yourself why the escavation of the different pyramids in egypt have not stop? Its simply because anything they discover there were all black civilisation. We are the bginning/foundation of everything you see

From the study of the universe where the word university came from you will know its all alkebulam all the way. Let me break it down. Google these words;

Timburktu
Dogon people of Mali
Ishango bone
Nok civilisation
Benin Metallurgy
The Moors
Nsibidi

That being said, Sango the god of lightning/thunder discover electricity. Ogun the god of Iron, discover Iron. These are talented people like you and i. They are called god today because they did exeptional things with their talent. What else, the first scecerian operation was carried out by Ugandans

Medicine, Astology, Mathematics, Trade/Commerce, Writing/Alphabet etc are all our way of life. You must make it a point of duty to do things outside the box where we have been caged with western civilisation to be exceptional. You must go back to the africa before the arrival of the europeans for you to know your true worth and self.

Thank you.

You are very correct about Ivory Coast. Very secure and peaceful. All the basic infrastructure you pray to have in naija are all here since over 30 years. Any water you drink or use in Abidjan is 99.999 tap water. Telephone ( landline or mobile) perfect. As long as you pay your bill, there is light for you. Good road and free movement event at midnight without the fear of been harassed or kidnap. If you enjoy the basic facilities in Côte d’Ivoire, you will hardly spend one full month in Nigeria.

Hey guys, hope y'all good.

So there's this wound on my big toe, which developed by itself, just like that. I've been suffering this injury for more than a year now.

I've taken many medications and treatments, all to no avail. I've met 4 deferent doctors, who apparently do not know what that is or how to treat it, they just dress it and prescribe some medicine, and that's it.

I just discovered recently that it's an Ingrown Toenail, after some research on the internet. And according to what I read, it needs a surgery to remove the Ingrown Nail, but all the doctors I've met do not know what an Ingrown Toenail is, and they usually tell me that it doesn't need a surgery.

Guys pls, this thing is really painful. I can't even walk properly with it. If you are a doctor here who knows about this, I beg you to not ignore this post

If you have experience something like this or know someone who has, pls tell me how to treated it. Thank you so much.

It will mean a lot if this thread could reach the front page to gain more views. Pls I really need any help I can get. Thank you!
The picture above is ingrown nail infection. I have suffered from it for the past one year. To treat it, go to a good pharmacy to buy this drug ;
terbinafine ( Tablet and cream)

Take the two of the tablet every day and apply the cream on the affected toe twice a day, especially at night . You will thank me after a week of treatment.

Ha, I'm laughing right now. majority of ladies don't know anything about marriage. Lots of them chasing men all cos of money. I'm not saying money is not good. But ladies of nowadays have choosing money as a priority, they date can't low key men, always looking for rich men to date.

Marriage is not something someone can jump into. Regina has choose her own husband, but deeply inside her, she's not happy, cos her marriage is not smooth. People come to social media to spend their time cos majority are fed up of with their marriage ish.

My advice to all ladies and men, choose wisely, don't love cos of money, it wouldn't end well.
Polygamy is natural at the same time spiritual. Don't be carried away because of the westernization of everything God has made.

FamilyRe: I Was Chosen As King: Should I Damn The Consequence Or Forget About It Entirely? by theone3010: 9:06pm On Jun 30, 2020
JONNYSPUTE:
....Good morning folks. Sure we are all good and managing the effects of pandemic well?. To God be the glory.

This is going to be long because I will want us to read and understand it very well before commenting. Reason is because any decision taken is going to affect both myself,my immediate family members, extended and the entire community.

I have been thinking about the way forward since December last year.

It happened that we lost our king (Eze) 5years ago and the community has been in turmoil due to the inability of the elders to select a new king.

Reason is that it is rotational between my village and the other village.

My village is now supposed to bring out the next king and my compound has been told to bring out somebody to be crowned as a king.

I never envisaged or dreamt of becoming a king in my life because.
(1) My father is still alive.
(2)I'm not the most senior in the entire family.

But then, the elders met me last December and told me that the diety in the community has selected me to become the next king and that I have to pick another wife from the community before I will be crowned.

I told them point and blank that the oracle is mistaken due to the reasons I mentioned above but they are not taking it.

Now everyone in my village is against me for refusing the offer and saying I'm doing it be cause I don't want to hurt my wife which is true.

Now my question is,What do I do?
Should I damn the consequence and pick another wife and be crowned a king in other to make my community happy or should I forget about the whole idea entirely and allow the community sort themselves out?

I'm confused here. N B. My wife is aware of all this.

Thanks.

Please bring this to front page cause I'm no longer myself. So many sleepless nights and selfish advices from the elders in my community. I really need to hear the truth from people I don't know.
Go and sit on the throne and respect God.

Good morning guys

What do you think is wrong about the Nigerian/African style of parenting?

To me, I think Nigerian/African parenting is the best but African parents think they are always right even when they falsely accuse you which I don't think is right.

What else do you guys think? Let's discuss.
No matter how we try to validate everything African with that of the Western world, we will only kill what should have hold us together. Today our African wedding is not recognized until the white wedding is conducted. This should not be so. Yes, there are certain aspects of parenting in Africa that should be reviewed.

Plan To Evacuate Nigerians From South Africa Suffers Setback Due To Expired Passport

The plan by Air Peace to evacuate Nigerians in South Africa from September 6 suffered a setback as the majority of those interested in the process have expired passports.

Mr Allen Onyema, the Chairman of Air Peace, said in a statement in Lagos on Friday that most of the potential returnees were yet to renew their documents.

Onyema said the airline had already placed its Boeing 777 aircraft on standby and was only awaiting the go-ahead from the government.

“The Air Peace flight to South Africa will take off from the Lagos Airport and also return to Lagos. As earlier stated, the take off could be SepT 9 or 10.
