FamilyRe: Living Arrangements by theopops: 5:46am On Jul 08, 2007
Reason 101, why I am against inter-anything marriage. There are some things that just can not be explained. A Nigerian woman, that grew up in Nigeria would understand why her husband's family is spending a year in her house, because that's the way it was for her growing up.

There are enough problems in a marriage already. Having a different culture and trying to understand the culture even makes it more difficult.

I don't think there is a better way to explain this to you. If it is bothering you this much, maybe you want to explain it to your husband. He might not see anything wrong in keeping his sister in your house for two years, in lieu of your family going on that vacation.

All the best.

FamilyRe: What Rights Has Your Wife Over Your Mobile Handset Or Vice Versa? by theopops: 5:52pm On Apr 26, 2007
If you like, answer his/her phone. A man that is going to cheat, will have a separate phone for his smallees. So that you will not even suspect him, he'll leave the phone at home, so you can answer it. So, thinking you have no secrets, cos you can answer his phone, keep deceiving yourself.

Marriage is much more important and serious than the way most Nigerians are going about it these days.

God help us all!

Aroro, I surely hope you are kidding? Are you that ugly that you can't attract other girls, and you have to sleep with your sister?

At 21, I know your hormones are raging. Either you get your self a girl, you move out or you give your life to Jesus. You'll regret it like hell, if you sleep with your sister.

Mehn, this is disgusting. What is happening in the 21st century?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
AutosRe: Convenient And Affordable Transport Solution Wanted by theopops: 8:00pm On Jan 30, 2007
Seun:
Thanks for the tip, Layi. Previously, I considered that briefly but I felt:
Motorbikes are limited in the distance they can travel.
Depends on what kind you buy.

Motorbikes are dangerous - almost every accident results in injury.
Not entirely true. You obviously haven't heard about crash helmets and protective clothing.

Motorbikes are probably not much more comfortable than public transport.
Are you talking of a NAPEP tricycle?

Seun:
BUT (4) In support of motorbikes, a motorbike rider will hardly ever find himself trapped in bad traffic.
True. Unless it's in a motorcycle fuel queue.

What do others think about this motorbike option? Is it advisable? Is there a better option? Thanks.
Is it advisable? Yes, in my opinion, as long as you take the necessary precautions.
Is there a better option? Yes. Several. A ferrari, for example.

And about how much do the common Suzuki motorbikes cost? Thanks. kiss
I have no idea.

PoliticsRe: Yar'Adua: President In Waiting? by theopops: 6:17pm On Dec 16, 2006
Finally, I find someone that reasons like me. I was wondering, why those niger-delta militants, did not go to drop one or two baazookas on them PDP thieves, during their convention. At least, that will eliminate some of them.

4 Play, I join hand in saying, Death to all of them. May they all die young, may all them "thingys" not work well. Awon ole, olo ri burukus.

Who is this Yar'Adua guy? What do the average Nigerian know about him? Why should he be President? Those are the questions we want answers to, not some group of idiots imposing a dying man on us as President.

I stopped praying for Nigeria. It is never going to get better. As long as we keep allowing less than 100k people to control 150 million people, it will never get better. Quote me on it and tell your grand kids to keep passing it down to their grand kids. Nigeria is never going to get better.

Foreign AffairsRe: Should George Bush Also Face Trial? by theopops: 3:13am On Nov 17, 2006
Txlonghorn, please kindly don't reply any more. Why you might ask, these people can never understand. My friend's brother has gone to Iraq twice and I know how it feels to be a soldier. At least, you have a country that supports you, not the one we have in Nigeria, that don't carry whether you are dead or alive, as long as they can steal all the money.

I am extremely proud of what you do and for serving the country and making me feel free to board planes and protecting me. Even the ones that reside in America, that are running their mouths, if only they took american history or politics in college or high school, they'll realise that, the freedom they are enjoying now, did not just happen. Brave men and women like you, fought for the freedom they are laying claim on now. If they so much hate Bush and all he has done, I am sure, the airport is not closed. They can please leave. No need for all these pretense. They sure can come back, in 2008, when a new president is in office. For now, Bush is the president, and if you don't agree with him, then go out and vote next time. At least this is not Nigeria, that you are scared the election will be rigged.

Once again, Txlonghorn, I really appreciate and support you and all the troops doing their jobs. May God bless you and be with you and the family you are about to start.

Haters, make I leave una.

I have read through the posts here and I am interested in having a forum. I know there are softwares out there for open source forum system, I just don't want to do all the "techy" work. I aint really into all them programming and stuff that much.

That said, I am ready to employ someone to do the work. The requirements of the site will be discussed once I get in touch with interested people by email. My email is theopops@yahoo.com.

HealthRe: Doctor in the House: Free Medical Advice Available by theopops: 9:07pm On Sep 16, 2006
Docs, we do appreciate your input here. Like Balogun said, you can't satisfy everybody. Methink, if someone has a deadly disease, they'll not be coming online to look for treatment. Common sense, will make them go see a doctor.

Docs, una no give me answer to my question o. Hopefully, I will get one now.

Thanks and keep up the good work.
Nairaland GeneralRe: What Would Be Your Last Wish Be If Aboard A Plane Hijacked By Terrorist by theopops: 10:00pm On Sep 09, 2006
Wow this is very funny.

Make I do devil's advocate small.

The questions is: What would be your last wish, if you were on a plane hijacked by terrorist?

Excellency's response:
Excellency:
There is no last wish there. How can I die just because the plane I boarded has been hijacked by terrorists. I'm going to survive somehow. The terrorists must die in my place. So there is no last wish on my side, even if all of you other passengers want to die. The most foolish thing to do is to die at this time in one's life.
iice's response:
iice:
Assuming i was going to die tongue my last wish would be for my family to remember to spread my ashes in the land of my father grin
Mubowa response:
mubowa:
@ excellency, i respect your post, i know a mere person will not say that except a person of honor, your name really fits you, look at the person that post after you and see the level of intelligence and understanding you have.i've never seen you but you must be a bold man. you make alot of sense
Ok, can anyone pick the idiot out of these three people?

On a more funny note, why is it that Nigerians can't stick to providing answers to questions? The topic specifically asked what your last wish will be. Guess what, if you do not have one, you need not reply. It is very simple.

Mubowa, do you have a problem with iice? Abi she take your boyfriend? cheesy

Ok now, back to topic, my last wish, I'll ask the terrorist to let me eat all the food on the plane. cheesy. Abi, I might has well eat up and become fat.
TravelRe: How Is It In Nigeria? by theopops: 5:09pm On Sep 04, 2006
Bgurl, you have to ask specific questions. It will take about five years to explain how it is in Nigeria.

I am sure, you can find some things from this site or google. The specific questions you have, can be answered here.
CultureRe: Yorubas In Nigeria That Can't Speak Yoruba by theopops: 7:23pm On Sep 03, 2006
And by modern civilization, what do you really mean, Dak.? Maybe once I get your definition of that, I can address you better.
CultureRe: Yorubas In Nigeria That Can't Speak Yoruba by theopops: 11:24pm On Aug 31, 2006
Wait, Dak., you said you only speak Yoruba to illiterates. The last time I checked, knowing how to speak a language does not have anything to do with being an illiterate or not. I thot illiteracy meant, not able to read or write huh.

Anyway, not to change the topic, I still stand by my words, if you are in Nigeria and you are forming ajebutter, and you think your native language stink and the only one you want to know how to speak is English, then in my opinion, you are short-changing yourself.
