Omo the tech gurus have said it all. Me nor know wetin I wan add again. Although you suppose ask this kweshun for computer thread @op.Well anyways, lemme just say that: Intel CPUs have codenames and nanometres too. E.g. Core i7-10710U. 14nm+ Comet Lake; cTDP 15-25W; 6 cores 12 threads; UHD Graphics 620; versus Core i7-9750H. 14nm; Coffee Lake; cTDP 45-55W; 6 cores 12 threads; UHD Graphics 630.Forget the 'Lakes' and stuff (the Lakes are the uarch and the CPU family). The 10710U is weaker than the 9750H (previous gen) because the jump from Coffee to Comet Lake doesn't have that big a performance jump for the previous year's gaming laptop to get beaten in performance by an ultrabook 2-in-1. The 10th gen supports newer instructions; but who cares? With Team Red (AMD) though, it's different. Ryzen 5 4500U, Zen2; 6 cores 12 threads; 10-25W cTDP; 7nm; Vega 10 GPU vs Ryzen 7 3750H, Zen+; 4 cores 8 threads; 35W TDP; 12nm; Vega 8 GPU. Believe it or not; here 'H' is worse than 'U'. AMD fans better thank God for the rain, the sun, silicon, TSMC and Dr. Lisa Su. Because without her, AMD would have been long dead. If you ain't an enthusiast (or a power user ) just nor stress yahsef and use benchmarks. My two cents, though. |
As always, my atheist friend monsieur atheistandproud is spot on. Flagships are where the exciting stuff happens; but the true battles happen in the front lines of the midrange arena. Me I'mma pick the Redmi 10 Prime over the Phantom X. Just saying. ![]()

Okay, people. I am only interested in ONE thing. That when the Infinix Zero X series launch; Android 12 update must be waiting IMMEDIATELY it launches. The EU is demanding that all smartphones sold there whether iOS, Android, HarmonyOS or even KDE Plasma Mobile must have at least SEVEN (yes, you got that right, SEVEN) years of UPDATES AND SOFTWARE SUPPORT. BE LIKE SAY NSO x PEGASUS CHOKE EVERYBODY FOR THERE. ![]() If them wan follow the big boys fight; they better step up like them. |
UPDATE! Zero X, Zero X Pro just appeared on Google Play Console. -Full HD+ confirmed. -120Hz AMOLED (cool ) confirmed.-Helio G96 confirmed.-Battery 5050mAh. -40W fast charging (forget wireless charging, you. )-in-display optical fingerprint (of course). -8GB RAM 128GB storage. ( :seriously?: ) -16MP selfie camera. -Android 11 ( ) Launch date: SEPTEMBER 13. ![]() Dem wan steal Apple's thunder. ![]() See Gizmochina for more info. |
Wizzy13:Many many things. So many things. Can't list 'em all, sorry. |
|
To buttress the 'Helio G96' rumor; the folks at Gizmochina got word that Tecno is planning to use the G96 for the Camon 18 series. Shebi Infinix and Tecno dey share R & D? (same displays, same SoC, same camera hardware, same Android skin, same camera software). Don't be surprised when you upgrade from the ''gaming beast'' the Phantom X to the Zero 10 Pro and discover that it runs games worse than before. Now that's the 'upgrade'! They trying now to be the new Gionee. Good luck. But you know what you have to do to steal users from Xiaomi. Even Samsung don dey sweat because of Xiaomi. If dem come come US market nko? ![]() |
skywalker240:Dio mio! How did I forget to add arguably the SECOND MOST IMPORTANT THING! Thanks for the heads-up. No, @skywalker240; it's not the Helio G90T, or even the G95. I would be pissed if it were those. No, it's even worse. NA HELIO G96! NAWA FOR 'SEEFINISH' OH. ![]()

Cc: GSMArena Gizchina Leaksters This certainly looks impressive, if true. The prototype shown here is alleged to be the next upcoming Infinix flagship. I've been hearing the rumours for a while. Here are the (rumored) specs I've gathered so far from various sources and leaks INFINIX ZERO 10 PRO (note, preliminary name): - Display: Possibly 6.8-6.9'' diagonal; 1080x2400 resolution (extended 1080p or 1080p+); 20:9 ratio; 120Hz refresh rate, LCD very likely, probably AMOLED. Or maybe not. (about time. WOT? YOU WERE EXPECTING QHD+ 1440p LTPO E5 AMOLED? )-Glass front (Gorilla Glass 5??), Glass back, aluminium frame (maybe), like Phantom X? -8GB LPDDR4X RAM; 256GB UFS 2.2 (no surprise there). - 108MP 1/1.5" (certainly the same 108MP sensor in the Redmi Note 10 Pro/ Mi 11X Pro/ Poco F3 Pro/ Realme 8 Pro et al, i.e. ISOCELL HM2) 8MP 120-degree FoV ultrawide like on Phantom X.8MP periscope, 135mm focal length (5x optical zoom) - Battery: either 4500mah or 5000mah Li-Po; more likely the latter (as per their reputation now) - Charging: I'm not sure, but I DAMN WELL KNOW IT AIN'T GONNA BE 160W. ![]() -Colours: ask Infinix. Me I nor know am o. COMMENTS ARE FREAKING WELCOME. AND TO THE PHONE BOSSES HERE; SOMETHING IS MISSING ON THAT PERISCOPE. WHAT IS IT? LEMME KNOW. ![]() Pictures are courtesy of GSMArena.

FlipModeSquade:Says who? For pure point-and-shoot photography and social networking and ease of use, phones beat DSLRs and DSLMs (mirrorless) hands down. For serious photography, cinema creation, and stuff like studio photography, billboard and fashion magazine photos, sports and wildlife photography and run-and-gun cinematography (basically anything requiring editing and professional applications and workflows), then even the highest-end smartphone is to a DSLR/mirrorless as an agbero street tout is to five kung-fu artists with black belts- they will just slaughter him. If you want the best performance out of your phone, then use it without SD Cards..Huh? ![]() Excuse me? ![]() Oh, you're referring to those people who install apps and forward app data to microSD. Sure, even the fastest UHS-II V90 card will still be killed by 'just' UFS 2.1 in Samsung's A51. But that don't mean nothing when you use SD cards the right way. The 'right way' being that BIG FILES LIKE BACKUPS, PHOTOS, VIDEOS, MUSIC FILES, DOCUMENTS AND THE LIKE GO TO THE SD CARD; WHILE APP FILES AND APP DATA STAY IN THE PHONE'S STORAGE. A PROPERLY RATED AND HIGH QUALITY MICROSD ( ORIGINAL Lexar, Samsung, Kingston, Adata and SanDisk) with the ratings A2 or A1 or V30 or V60 or V90, Class 10 U3* WILL NOT SLOW DOWN YOUR PHONE ONCE FORMATTED PROPERLY. And if you think that SD cards are not reliable enough; then just go and watch on YouTube how they rate SD cards for durability against magnetism, shock damage, water, static and live electricity. And mind you, most reputable SD card manufacturers offer up to 5 YEARS WARRANTY against those things! Even your super-expensive phone doesn't get that much, including ''waterproof'' ones. After all, do you always run software from your external HDD or USB always? *coming soon. |
Tfstyler:WARNING: THIS IS A RANT POST. SOME WORDS MIGHT BE MISTAKEN FOR SOMETHING ELSE. I APOLOGIZE IN ADVANCE. Okay, sorry, yes, now let's get to the point. Now I don't see the point of you all (rich-ass gomers) paying $1000 or over #500K for a phone/phones with less features than their predecessors. Who remembers the (wonderful) years of 2007-2016 where everyone was trying something new; putting amazing stuff in phones? Then we saw GPS on a phone for the first time! We had high-end phones that had cool stuffz (FM transmitter, Nokia fans? Altimeters, thermometers, humidity and UV sensors on phones? Heart rate and blood oxygen, Samsung fans? IR blasters? AND EXPANDABLE MEMORY AND A HEADPHONE JACK, AND FOR CHRISSAKE, CHARGERS AND EARPHONES AND CASES IN THE BOX!). Where are they now? The Politburo of Big Tech managed (quite skilfully because people are just dumb) to convince us that those things are pointless. And it's all thanks to you all, not Apple. If you'd voted with your collective wallets, stupid a**holes like Tim Cook would be DAMN BROKE! They said they removed them for better cameras. (Seriously? ) They said they wanted to add bigger batteries ( ). They said they wanted to slim the damn things (sure, like any of the popular flagshits are slim enough? ). Well, lemme tell you; THEY JUST MADE YOU ALL!Why did crApple remove the headphone jack? Simple: to sell more crapPods. Why did Scamsung remove the blood oxygen, heart rate and UV sensors from their phones? Simpler: to sell more crapWatches. AND WHY DID THEY REMOVE THE MEMORY CARD SLOT?? BECAUSE THEY WANT TO CHARGE THAT EXPENSIVE PREMIUM FOR MORE STORAGE, AS WELL AS PUSH THEIR CLOUD STORAGE SOLUTIONS! AND CHARGERS?! WHY NOT BUY A CHARGER FROM US? AND THE OTHER PHONE COMPANIES SHAMELESSLY FOLLOWED; CUZ ''BUSINESS IS BUSINESS, AND THE BOTTOM LINE IS MORE PROFIT''. AND WE LET THEM GIVE US LESS FOR MORE! THIS IS WHY I WILL ALWAYS LOVE SONY XPERIA. SURE, IT'S AN 'ENTHUSIAST' PHONE. (CURSE YOU, MKBHD.) BUT AT LEAST A COMPANY UNDERSTANDS THAT: 1) NOT EVERYBODY HAS CHARGERS LYING AROUND. 2) NOT EVERYBODY CAN BUY A SMARTWATCH THAT SUCKS. 3) NOT EVERYBODY HAS UNLIMITED DATA FOR CLOUD STORAGE. 4) NOT EVERYBODY LIKES THE SHITTY LAG THAT COMES WITH USING TWS EARBUDS FOR GAMING. 5) NOT EVERYBODY CAN PAY AN EXTRA $500 FOR 512GB. THANKS FOR READING AND GIVE A LIKE IF YOU SUPPORT THIS. SHARE IF YOU DON'T CARE. AND QUOTE ME, TOO. DO YOU FEEL THE SAME? |
Telegram234:Let's be honest: most phones nowadays take good enough photos (for social media use). It basically depends on what exactly you want from a phone. Do you want a great all-rounder? Or you want reliability and consistency? Or you like to take long-range (amebo) pics? Or you just nor wan kill yourself like me? ![]() Like if you want to know more about this topic; share if you don't. ![]() |
Tfstyler:Apple iPhone get am since dem don born am? Modified: I love microSD too. Hybrid slot or dedicated. It's bad reputation for unreliability comes from y'all buying cheap shit as original (and fakes being sold as original, too). If microSDs were crap, then why the frick have photographers and content creators used them for decades? ![]() |
skywalker240:Mi 11 Ultra and Mi 11 Pro are IP68 rated. Redmi Note 9 Pro/10 Pro/ Poco X3 Pro are IP53 rated. NO, XIAOMI'S PROBLEM ISN'T IP RATING, IT'S BLOODY USB 2.0! NONE OF THE PHONES THEY'VE EVER MADE HAS USB 3.1 (AKA USB 3.0, 3.1 GEN1; 3.2 GEN1) THAT CAME OUT SINCE 2014! ![]() |
chariisGRACE:If I know Apple, it'll be in 2025... ![]() Apple stuck with the notch since 2017 because it believes in 'consistency' and 'familiarity'. MI MIX 4: CERAMIC UNIBODY!!! (i.e. ceramic back ceramic frame) |
Rumor has it that Xiaomi's CUP (Camera Under Panel) is practically invisible and still takes cracking selfies. That's some serious innovation, man. Big ups to Xiaomi. Under-display cameras are anything but easy to achieve. Well I'm waiting for the Mi 12 Ultra... ![]() |
The vivo doesn't have a headphone jack, so it's a pass from me. And THERE IS NO 5G IN NIGERIA YET, WHETHER IT IS SA OR NSA; OR SUB-6 OR MILLIMETER WAVE. |
olabodejinad:*facepalm* DUDE; we are not looking at the SIZE of the company. Tell me; do you think about the size of Jaguar Land Rover Limited when you pick a Range Rover Velar over a Toyota Highlander? The Highlander is a lot more affordable, more reliable, easier to repair; and has better fuel economy. But WOULD YOU CHOOSE IT OVER A VELAR IF YOU COULD AFFORD IT?? Tell yourself the truth, my man. |
Mustiboy:@mustiboy... You deserve a World Cup... RAM is as overhyped as f*ck. I've seen stock Android phones with 6GB of RAM destroy others with 8GB. Do you think adding 16GB of RAM to a phone will all of a sudden let it run Cyberpunk 2077 or Resident Evil Village? ![]() You say more RAM is better for gaming. Well, I'd rather choose 6GB of RAM with better optimizations than use 12GB of RAM and my apps are aggressively killed just to save battery. Mustiboy:I disagree. Forget benchmarks, boss. I don't take them seriously. Helio G95 cannot run PUBG Mobile at 60FPS HDR settings. Snapdragon 732G can get as close as 50FPS. So tell me; WHICH IS BETTER? |

MakotoShishio:UNLIMITED DATA PLANS, LITERALLY SPEAKING; DOES NOT EXIST ANYWHERE. #FACT. |
damosky12:Mi 11 Lite, not easy to get tho. I'd recommend the Redmi. Cheaper, reasonably powerful; easier to fix, accessories are not that hard to find if you know where to look. Me personally, I'd pick the Mi 11 Lite. Snapdragon 780G is even more powerful than the Snapdragon 860. But that's just 'cause I'm a power user. ![]() |
Carlmax:Ooin! Abi you nor dey upload big files or do remote server; na why you never notice am. ![]() |
Juchii:The only Tecno device I would recommend as worth getting in 2021 is the Pova 2. Obviously, it is the Redmi Note 10 Pro. It's just WAY better value for money... But of course; there is the big problem of getting spare parts when it breaks... |
Petersamuel8:Ehn?! Eeey, for where?? Abeg shift!

5) Google can add newer technologies on both the hardware and software, and combining them with the hardwre-software synergy of having this level of control; we could see incredible implementations of existing features. Like, maybe advanced image processing for improving video and audio recording?? Or what about live transcription and analysis of voices offline? Or a significantly more advanced Google Assistant that can even translate voices on-the-fly offline? Or maybe the most advanced camera software on the planet?? (from the few videos I've seen; I'd say the Huawei P50 Pro has the most advanced camera hardware and software right now) Who knows? TIME WILL TELL. 6) A WHOLE NEW GOOGLE ECOSYSTEM JUST LIKE APPLE'S? ![]() AND NOW; FOR THE OTHER SIDE OF THE COIN... Well, apart from the privacy issues I've just mentioned ( ); one (BIG) problem is that GOOGLE COULD MAKE IT CLOSED-SOURCE SO THAT PEOPLE WHO WANT TO CREATE CUSTOM ROMS ARE GOING TO BE, WELL... LET'S JUST SAY LEFT BEHIND. And for all the problems with Pixels; that is ONE reason why people love them. ![]() AS USUAL; COMMENTS ARE WELCOME. DROP A LIKE IF YOU WANT TO SEE MORE ARTICLES LIKE THIS. |
#PixelFamz; thanks for the A2A. Now, where were we? ![]() Why The Pixel 6 System-on-Chip Is A Massive Deal You see, Google; apart from being an advertising company (and the king of spies ) is by nature a software company. This is not the first time they have made their own silicon (their datacenter servers all use Google-designed CPUs); and should I remind y'all that they are working on a QPU (Quantum Processing Unit) for quantum computers? So they ain't exactly noobs in SoC design, guys. Oh,did I forget the Pixel Visual and the Pixel Neural Core?(!) Sorry. ![]() WHY IS IT CALLED TENSOR? If you sabi Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning workflows; you'll know that TensorFlow is the most widely-used AI & ML framework. And, yes; it was developed by Google; just like Android. I think they named it Tensor, because it is going to run TensorFlow natively, and it is connected to Google's software technology. WHAT IS THE POINT OF TENSOR? Well, aside from the fact that with their own dedicated chipset platform they can track you and modify your preferences to the hardware level and always listen to your voice and typing and the camera is always-on and location/GPS is always on even when you (think) you've turned it off and the data they have collated is being sent to Google through a hardware backdoor (man, have I just become a conspiracy theorist? ) :1) With their own hardware platform; Google does not have to rely on a third-party supplier (i.e Qualcomm) to provide SoC updates and driver bug fixes (word is that Qualcomm offers up to four years of platform [security] support, extendable to five years, but they [the OEM] is going to pay for this) and so therefore can offer software support for up to six, or even SEVEN YEARS of software upgrades and support! 2) The Pixel Visual Core (and it's successor the Pixel Neural Core) does not have to be separate from the main SoC; and so can (and will) be directly integrated into the chipset, giving a lot better heat and battery efficiency savings (I wager up to 20-30%, maybe). 3) Better 'security' as the Titan M security chip is also fused into the application processor, thus improving efficiency, speed and of course, saving on space. 4) Google can now design a device that they have almost 97% control over; from the sketches and CADs to the finished device and software (i.e from the ground up) giving them near-Apple levels of software optimization. |
Ernerstdavid55:Na so we see am o. ![]() That time when na only Android phones dey use OLED; Apple fanboys and simps were saying, ''OLED is crap! It has burn-in issues! OLED is not important! OLED has bad whites!'' Then when in 2017 Apple released the iPhone X with an OLED display; those same people were like, ''Apple's OLED is the best!'' ![]() |
Ernerstdavid55: ![]() THANK YOU! Something wey even Symbian don dey use. ![]() They'll get it on September and then you'll see articles like, 'Apple's 'game-changing' Always-On Display (that you cannot customise).' ![]() |
