Even the man in question is magnanimous in victory, he isn't dishing out any bitter words to rival fans and opponents. But people like you living in an unknown world have taken it upon yourselves to dish our hate and bitterness every second to those who're not in your line of thought, bcs of a man who doesn't even know you exist somewhere.

Don't you think this is madnesses huh
Did you call out this madness when Pendulums were dishing hate and bitterness to Messi after CR won the Euros in 2016 for over 4 years?
You didn't mind the madness then and probably even partook in it. Now when the tables were turned you are now crying for maturity and understanding?

Even yesterday when Mbappe equalized at 2 - 2 many of the Pendulums were already displaying madness and tearing Messi to shreds. If Messi had lost, you would not have minded the madness and probably even have spearheaded it. Abeg leave him to be mad in peace and go lick your wounds.

At this rate, Messi will shatter all Pendu’s UCL, Int’l & All time goal record.

Yes o and that's Pendu's greatest fear. I just need Messi to give me another 40-goal season and shikena it's over.

Messi is also currently flogging Ronaldo in his much cherished social media territory.

Pendu's most liked post is about 42million, Messi's picture kissing the World cup trophy is now on 45million in less than 24 hours reaching the status of the second most liked post on SM ever.

The record most-liked photo that Messi is now after is that of an Egg with 56million likes. The funny thing is that Penaldians are now liking the egg in their droves to increase the gap from Messi's while Messi fans are also unliking the egg to reduce the gap.

They are already posting comments below that photo like "Egg, we are coming to break you" grin

GOAT in all territories.

Good analysis but are you really asking penaldians to look at it objectively?

Nemo dat quod non habet

Bro, you and I know they cannot give what they don’t have.
Na their problem be that bro. My message was mainly for the neutrals who may have been swayed by the sentiments being bandied around.

Pendulums are irredeemable.

hefelove:
Be like most of you are just judging that he should be best player of the tournament based on this final, compared to Messi that's wining MOTM every match they played
Even in the final, Messi had more impact in the game over the course of the 120 minutes than Mbappe.

He scored the first goal;
intelligently released the ball when under pressure to kickstart the counter-attack for the second;
scored the third;
created 2 big chances for his teammates with smart runs during extra-time;
almost scored another with a thunderous 25-yard shot which Lloris brilliantly saved.

Mbappe sprang to life in the 78th minute and had Argentina on the ropes for only about 20 minutes of the game in total. His major contributions were:

Scoring the first goal
Scored a brilliant second
Caused and scored a third penalty in extra time
Had a brilliant dribble run past 2 Argentine players in the penalty box towards the end of extra time.

If you look at it objectively, Messi had a more spread-out decisive performance and the fact that Argentina won the trophy would obviously put more weight and efficiency on his performance than Mbappe's. This is the objective way the technical committee arrived at Messi's MOTM win and not some sentimental drivel by Pendu fans.

Register as used here, is obviously a noun, so the question ought to have been, "what is a register?" or what are "registers" or what is the concept of register.

My point is, the question is written wrongly.

@Thierryjay
Oh ok I get you now. Well it also speaks to the incompetence of the examiners.

ThierryJay:
To be honest, when Saudi beat Argentina in that first game, my belief that the team could go all the way was massively shaken based on the weak manner Argentina capitulated in that defeat.

But then after the Mexico game in which Messi gave the dream a flicker of hope, I started to think the Saudi loss might be a Dr Strange vs Thanos moment; to stoop first and then rise to conquer. The hardest way the only way.

Maybe that was indeed the only way by which Argentina could generate the extra force of will and experience required to push them past more difficult opposition until the ultimate victory; while at the same time fate throws up the choice of their would-be opponents at each stage to be the one that would be beaten regardless of strength. And so far, that has proven to be the case.

On Sunday, the Endgame will unravel. May the GOAT and Argentina be its beneficiaries.
I knew an endgame was coming quite alright but didnt in a million years expect that it would match the explosiveness of the movie!

Phew!

Meanwhile I really feel bad for Dembele. This is one of those legacy taints that will haunt him until he hopefully redeems himself at the next Euros or World Cup.

What on earth does he mean by "what is register"?

Register can be a verb or a noun. Without an article we'd have no idea which is meant.

What is a register?
What is the register?
Or what does it mean to register?
Ah bros no fall hand na. Pls live up to your moniker o.

Register was a commonly taught topic since our Common entrance (Primary 5 Ugo-C- Ugo) days.
Career › Re: Tax In A Big Four Audit Firm Or Investment Banking by ThierryJay: 1:24pm On Dec 19, 2022
In terms of opportunities and exposure investment banking is higher than tax in rating.

However, the pedigree of the company providing the investment banking opportunity matters. A big 4 experience on your CV whether tax or audit opens doors faster to get foreign jobs in the UK, Canada, Australia etc than the I.B experience in a local bank here.

Also there is relative better job stability with the big four tax work than with the I.B due to the fact that the investment sector is more volatile and subject to economic fluctuations and business cases.

So in the short term, if you want the big cash and also intend to stay in 9ja for long and is okay with the potential job security risk (if there's recession for instance), go for the investment banking opportunity.

But if you are a japa candidate, working with KPMG, PwC, Deloitte or EY would open doors for you much more seamlessly abroad while you can also still excel locally but may be limited to a CFO ceiling in Nigeria which is not bad at all.

It's not pride wanting to be rated as the best. It's being ambitious. You people should stop forcing people to feel inferior. It's a level playing ground for everybody. Nobody is there to be superior or inferior to the other.
You misunderstand the comment you quoted.

Yes I agree that it isnt pride to want to be the best but do you think Messi did not want to be rated as the best all this while? Or why do you think his battles with Cristiano fuelled him to consolidate his status as the best? Yet, he was able to balance his high ambition with outward humility especially towards his fellow players.

That is what has endeared him to more people within football circles than Ronaldo who only has more non-football admirers.

Zidane, De Lima, Kaka, Modric, Pele, Maradona and several others have been best at one time without being arrogant. That is what Mbappe should learn and adopt in order to maximize his best years at the top.

Note that being vocal and high-spirited is different from being arrogant and condescending.

PSG players did well in this World Cup and with what Mbappe and Messi played, they fit knock bayern out ooh.
True. Especially if they adopt a similar tactic to Scaloni's Argentina style. Only thing I hope is that Mbappe does not bring bad blood to Messi back in PSG cos I think his attitude and body language has been disrespectful to Messi.

In his mind, the competition for Ballon dor is between himself and Messi going forward so that might influence him to start putting in selfish displays in the rest of the club campaign. Not like Messi would care though in his usual humble manner.

Sports › Re: Messi Should Not Have Won Best Player Of The Tournament (opinion) by ThierryJay: 11:47am On Dec 19, 2022
OJEEMAH:
It’s not like Mbappe was all round better than Messi. Mbappe 8goals 2assists. Messi 7goals and 3assists. Just like he was instrumental in their run to the final, so was Messi.

Messi was pulling the strings with defense splitting passes, playmaking and also scoring to secure their qualification to the next round.

The 2 best player in the World Cup made it to the final. In this case, whoever wins the tournament should be crowned best. You obviously don’t know how it works. Germany had no exceptional player in their team that year.

Do you think Messi would have won golden ball if Germany had an outstanding player like James Rodriguez?

Messi was outstanding in 2014. He was individually better than all German players. The only person that would have stopped Messi from winning 2014 golden ball was James Rodriguez but unfortunately, they knocked Columbia out in the quarter finals. When they robbed Ribery to crown him world best in 2013, he wasn’t pampered.

When they robbed Juventus in the champions against Madrid, he wasn’t pampered.

When he scored offside against Bayern & ATM, he wasn’t pampered.

Once Messi win anything, una go look for excuse. This shit is stale already…….Messi won Balon D’or, he was pampered. He won European Golden Boot, he was pampered, he won Copa America, pampered
Again, he won UCL, still pampered.

When it became clear, he was leading Argentina to the trophy, you guys started with this emotional blackmail cos Portugal was out.

Can you guys just take your time to watch Messi’s and contributions for once?

At 35, he was running the show for his country and competing with a 23years old electric and energetic Mbappe.

These are the records he broke and set in this World Cup yet you still think he doesn’t deserve golden ball

first and only player to score in all knock out games.

First and only player to score and assist in 3 World Cup games.

Most goal contribution in World Cup history

Most MOTM in World Cup history.

Give the guy some credit biko
Brilliant! Thanks for saving me the effort of schooling these annoying twats.

Imagine them still opening their yeye mouth to discredit a 35 year old Messi that scored a massive 2 goals in World cup final. I mean these are the same peeps that their Idolo did not even score at all in the Euro 2016 final that they used to taunt Messi for years until the GOAT shut them up by himself.

How Europe is superior

How Messi scores weaker teams

How Messi Copa America is trash

How Argentina have been avoiding European teams

How it will be all European semis and final.
Bro you nailed it. Everything Pendulums use against Messi: international trophies, knockout goals, goals on the biggest stage, open play goal in the final, scoring penalties under pressure, European superiority, being carried by Di Maria, winning without Xavi, Iniesta or Mbappe etc have all been laid to rest by Messi.

Best response ever from the GOAT.

agreed, Alvarez was gased out but there are other players on the bench na he could have brought in. Martinez is just anoda version of Higuain, very wasteful.
Lautaro needs better football sense. Dont know what happened to him but he was way better than this at the Copa America last year.

For example he was not supposed to head that last minute cross he wasted. If he had better awareness like a Messi or even Alvarez, he should have left the cross as there was an Argentinian player at the far left who would have had a one on one chance to score and win the match 4-3.

Deepthoughts:
Messi can never be greater than Pele, what more at pele's age,the racism n brutality of the game during his time,he recorded unbelievable achievements winning the world cup three times n scoring 12 goals,Messi is no doubt a good player but he enjoys so much protection today unlike in pele's era, Messi is great but Pele is the greatest.
Messi is not defined only by World cups, World cup is only 6 or 7 games and we are talking about a 1000 plus games career. The consistent otherworldly quality Messi showed in the toughest leagues, the UCL which Pele unfortunately did not participate in pits him above Pele IMO. The quality of Santos football in the 1960s cannot be compared to todays UCL and La liga.
