nextprince: Bro, the issue is not that supplies were cut off completely. But sometimes, in the interest of safety and achieving the set goals, there are things which need to be sacrificed. Ambushes/mines could be laid on expected routes and in situations like these, u have no choice but to create alternatives. Why is no one asking why the food items were conveyed by air rather than by road? These are what should be asked. Do u know most of the top military commanders in the north east are practically on their toes on issues relating to soldiers' welfare? Or u think they are not aware of the dire consequences of loosing control of their men? If soldiers could revolt for cases like these, then where lies the endurance expected of a military personnel? Where is the much trumpeted discipline in the armed forces? No food for two days and the GOC himself accompanied food food items to their location and by air, then the next thing is to start revolting. Are they civilians or paramilitary? What sort of nonsense is that? Note also, I have friends and relations in the military out of which some are presently in that maiduguri and I will tell u that some of these things are exaggerations. Some of them are doing everything possible to be taken away from there and that is cowardice which is a serious offence in the military. Finally, pls give me link(s) to mutinies in other countries due to less harsh conditions. I hv been reading ur analysis so far, and I go with u, mines and ambush re Laid by the enemies along d possible land routes likely to be used by the military. When u see Some young Nigerians aspiring to join the military, it is not as if they hv the morale to fight a battle n secure their country, itz because they want to brag about appearing in Khaki /military camouflage, I can remember when we were at NYSC orientation camp, they do deliberately cut off our water supply and banned against the use of water bottle on parade ground, their reason being that it z part of Endurance training even though we were only engaged with paramilitary training and man o war drills. And the military in the other hand hv undergone more sophisticated training and discipline to endure in case they find themselves in a situation where there is no food or water. To me that behaviour is unprofessional and against the ethics of military, it shows lack of discipline. if I should be enlisted into the army 2day, I will just comfort my mother not to weep much any day she couldn't see me anymore, I may in addition get my girlfriend pregnant for my Remembrance. military requires sacrifices. I do read Al Jazeera reports of wars in the Middle East, US, Syria, Yemen, Iraq, Turkey, Afghan, etc have lost countless of soldiers in battle with terrorists recently, yet there re rare cases of mutiny if at all there is over there. Though I am not in support of poor logistics supply to our military but they should not be scared to fight even in the face of death, Bc that is what military is all about and they sworn an oath to protect the integrity and sovereignty of the country even if it amounts paying the supreme price. #may God Strengthen our soldiers . #Victory z from God Alone. #God Bless Nigeria. |

I am not a civil engineer but common sense do tell me that the strength of buildings re been reduced by shabby ratio of sand to cement mixture in a bid to make higher profit by block industry operators, poor reinforcement of pillars, poor ratio of stone:sand:cement mixture in the course of making a concrete, Owners of some buildings in Nigeria hv turned out to be an adviser to the bricklayers/mason men in a bid to cut cost, The regulatory agency hv been compromised as giving them their stipulated charge will cause them to approve ur structure and if u refuse to cooperate they will deem ur structure illegal n mark it for demolition/removal. Basically, most of them I've interacted with prays and hope he dies, when ever Mugabe is down with sickness, lo and behold, the joy and celebration in anticipation of his death

OLAADEGBU: What baffles me is that many so called christian would discourage believers from giving in their churches and when they give generously to build they still complain. What do you guys actually do for the people you are so much concerned about? Call to discipleship z supposed to be driven by a self will to serve and win souls for Christ, not as a career as it hv turned out to be. I am not against willful donation to raise a church building or do any other evangelism work, that one z quite okay but using God's name to extort money from gullible followers and venture into biz like school which more than 90% of the church members can't afford to enroll their wards z a scam. Missionaries when they came to Africa were known for raising schools and hospitals, that z affordable to the common man, as rendering such services re part of evangelism, the church ran many motherless babies homes. The Catholics, Anglicans, Presbyterian, Methodist etc churches made much impact in times of building schools and hospitals Take a look at Jehovah's witnesses for instance, I am not a member but I guess d way the church z ran z deserved of any church, no career pastor, no tithing, no extortion, just free~will donations. Tithe z an Old Testament law that commands d 11 tribes of Israel to give out 1/10 of their produce to the tribe of Levi that had no share of d land in the promised land, as they re reserved to work in God's vineyard. |

Even Israelites that were told to pay tithe re no more paying it, yet Nigerian pastors will be charging people to pay tithe. And tell me hw many of them[gen. FFK ON NK Nnamdi Kanu, who is the leader of IPOB and easily the most courageous, powerful and credible Igbo leader in Nigeria today. ... I was amazed at his depth of knowledge, his immense courage and his deep convictions.
...we must give honor to whom it is due. Consequently I have no regrets for what I have said. ... I have associated with, met and worked with many men of influence and power since I entered the combustible fray of politics thirty years ago but this one was different.
This was a man that had what I would describe as a Mahatma Ghandi-like quality. That is to say he is one that is prepared to sacrifice everything and anything for his beliefs, his people and his cause. Like the great Scottish freedom fighter William Wallace I have no doubt that if he deemed it necessary he would go as far as to sacrifice his very life in the struggle for freedom and independence for his Igbo people from the Nigerian state and from our internal colonial masters and for the establishment of his beloved Biafra.
Not all may agree with him on that course but they must respect his determination, passion and courage.
Very few Nigerian leaders have that level of selflessness and commitment to any cause and, simply put, I admire it.
I looked deeply into his eyes as we spoke and I touched and weighed his soul.
I can tell you, without any fear of contradiction, that he is a profoundly good man who loves his Igbo people deeply.
He is also well-educated and widely-read and he is a formidable intellectual. ...
He is not a politician in the true sense of the word but rather a freedom fighter and a charismatic leader who has managed to inspire millions of Igbo youth all over the world to once again have faith in themselves and their collective cause and aspirations. In my view that is a good thing.
I can also tell you this: he is a man of great faith and conviction and his rise to prominence is not ordinary but instead prophetic.
He cannot be destroyed or silenced by any government or man born of woman because the Lord is with him and He is using him. He is using him to say and do the things that many believe but that are too scared to say or do. Other leaders have had their time in the past and now this is his. He is paying a very heavy price right now for what God will use him for in the future.
Very few leaders can or would be willing to take the pain and make the kind of sacrifice that this man is making today.
I am a very cautious and circumspect person and it takes me a while to warm to people or for them to win my confidence. Yet this case was different.
Nnamdi and I, rather like Che Guevera and Fidel Castro at the beginning of the Cuban revolution, connected immediately and he won my trust, respect and admiration.
If there is anyone that can truly build the much needed bridge between the south-west, the south-south and the south-east it is Nnamdi Kanu.
This is because he is pragmatic and sincere. It is because he is respectful and accomodating of alternative points of view and dissenting opinions and he speaks from a position of knowledge and strength. It ibecause he is very proud of his Igbo heritage and he would never betray his people or prostitute his principles.
The truth is that he is not just a combination of Owelle Nnamdi Azikwe and Dim Emeka Odumegwu-Ojukwu: he is a combination of Azikwe, Ojukwu AND Major Kaduna Nzeogwu all rolled into one.
The fire of revolution and the yearning for fundamental and equitable change burns in his blood and resides in his bones.
He has spoken up for, defended and fought for the preservation and dignity of his people just as those other three leaders did in the past at different times in our history. ... His love, remarkable courage and sheer passion for his people and their cause is boundless and unfathomable.
