Macron Picks Opposition Member as New French Prime Minister

French President Emmanuel Macron has named Edouard Philippe, the 46-year-old Mayor of Le Havre, as his Prime Minister.

Philippe is a member of the center-right Les Républicains party and is close to Alaine Juppé, the former Prime Minister who endorsed Macron after he won the first round of the presidential election.

The choice of Philippe, widely predicted by political pundits indicates Macron’s desire to draw support from the conservative opposition and create balance, according to Emmanuelle Schön-Quinlivan, lecturer in European politics at University College, Cork,in Ireland.

At a press conference following the announcement Monday,Philippe thanked his predecessor, the Socialist Bernard Cazeneuve, and said: “You said you were a left-wing man, I have never doubted that. “I am a right-wing man, you will not be surprised. Yet, we do respect each other and both know as you do that the general interest has to come first.”

“Macron needs to retilt the people around him to the right as at the moment the main people around him are from the left.

“He needs to give a sign towards Les Républicains. This will be a sign to their followers that this government is genuinely from the left and the right,” she told CNN.

Macron, the youngest French President in history at 39, is counting on winning votes from center-right supporters in elections for the National Assembly next month.

His party is scrambling to get 577 candidates together to contest every seat in the country.

Although he won the May 7 election against National Front candidate Marine Le Pen with 66% of the vote, his party was only founded last year and has never held a single National Assembly seat.

Macron needs to win a majority in the June vote to have the mandate to push his legislative agenda through.

If he manages to achieve that, the Prime Minister’s role will be to see through the promised reforms to address unemployment in France and boost the ailing economy.

The couple reportedly trekked for three weeks to the top of the mountain, just to have a private but epic wedding.

We gathered that embattled preacher, Apostle Johnson Suleman, was in Liberia recently and spent time visiting the country's Inspector General of Police.

Despite being entangled in an adultery scandal which has seen him going back and forth with a young lady Stephanie Otobo who claims he was engaged to her, Apostle Suleman doesn't seem to beholding back on his gospel mission.

The preacher made his second visit to Liberia in about seven months where he held a crusade and afterwards met with Liberian police boss.

He went ahead to administer special prayers for him and some of his officers and held meetings with some other top government officials.

Sharing the pictures on a Facebook page, We love Apostle Johnson Suleman, they wrote: "The Restoration Apostle in the office of the Inspector General of the Liberia National Police, Mr. Gregory Coleman.

The Man of God widely known as The Lion of Africa gave counsels to the Police boss after which he prayed for him and some of his officers. Africa is of The Lord."

2. Consult The Ministry of Education. At times school may be accredited in her country but unfit for Nigeria education standard. Mary Abacha university in Nigeria a typical example, this might also cost you a little amount. Do it. It is advisable.

3. Ensure the Institution Program is Accredited by Relevant Authority where the School is Located. Make the use of her website to check on agency responsible for validating school programs. e.g in the Germany FIBAA is the only responsible agent to validate business course.

Lastly, make sure your document are valid i.e WAEC, passport and other traveling document are intact and free of fraud. This might be an obstacle for you to proceed into NYSC after you complete your degree if there is a little suspect of fraud.

Nigeria is one of those West African countries that could boast of having airlines operating locally while some even go international. This post will show you the airlines in Nigeria that had been issued an Air Operation Certificate by the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) with information on each of them that will interest you.

1. ARIK AIR
Founded in 2002 (commenced work in 2006), Arik Air is one of the leading airlines in Nigeria that operates a domestic, regional and even an international flight network. This airline had built a strong domestic and regional network with this network waxing year in year out. Currently, it travels to about 26 destinations with it 22 fleets of Air-crafts.

These includes 9 Boeing 737-700, 4 Boeing 737-800, 4 Bombardier CRJ900, 4 Bombardier Dash 8 Q400, 1 Bombardier CRJ1000 and 2 Airbus A330-200. It operates from two main Airports in the country. these includes the Murtala Muhammad International Airport Lagos and Nnamdi Azikwe International Airport Abuja. It head office is the Arik Air Aviation Center on the grounds of Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Ikeja, Lagos State.

2. AERO CONTRACTORS
This is one of the oldest airlines in the country registered in 1960. Actually known as Aero Contractors Company of Nigeria Limited but popularly referred to as Aero Contractors or simply Aero is a Nigerian Aviation Company controlled by the Federal Government that is based at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Ikeja, Lagos State, Nigeria. This state-controlled airline operates two types of wings.

The first being the fixed wing services which are normally domestic and international passengers schedules and air charter while the rotary wing provides helicopter services mostly to the oil and gas industry in Nigeria. Currently, Aero Contractors travels to about 13 destinations and have 17 fixed wing Aircrafts in it fleet. These includes 7 Boeing 737-400, 6 Boeing 737-500, 1 De Havilland Dash 8 Q200, 1 De Havilland Dash 8 Q300 and 2 De Havilland Dash 8 Q400.

3. DANA AIR
Dana Air is a domestic airline based in Ikeja Lagos State, Nigeria that serves 5 airports. This airline have had it licence withdrawn in 2012 by the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority following the 3, June 2012 crash of it McDonnell Douglas MD-83 (flight 992) into a story building in Iju Railway area of Ishaga, Lagos which killed all the 153 persons on-board. It license was restored in September 2012 even before inquires into the matter was concluded.

Interestingly, it license was suspended again in October 2013 and the airline audited before it continues operation in January 2014. Dana Air have only 5 Aircrafts, this includes 1 Boeing 737-500 and 4 McDonnell Douglas MD-83 which would be replaced with 5 Boeing 737-800.

4. MED-VIEW AIRLINE
Founded in 2007, Med-view Airline is a charter airline meant for moving pilgrims from Nigeria to Jeddah, Saudi Arabia for Hajj but had since 2012 started offering domestic passenger services and now even go international sometimes. This airline is based in Lagos and offers flight services to 3 international and 8 domestic scheduled destinations. Engaged in long haul travel, Med-view is one of the airlines in Nigeria that routes passengers to Europe, Asia and West Africa. Started some months after Arik Air started, Med-view Airline is still expanding it fleet of Aircrafts. Currently, Med-view Airline have 1 Boeing 767-300ER, 2 Boeing 737-400 and 1 Boeing 737-500. Aside these aircrafts, Med-view sometimes leases Boeing 747 and a Boeing 777 for Hajj operation.

5. DORNIER AVIATION NIGERIA
This airline had been in existence from 1979 operating from the Old Kaduna Airport. There is something unique about this airline and that is, it operates only a specific aircraft brand and that is Dornier aircrafts. Interestingly, it carries out operations not carried out by other airlines in the country.

Aside being a passengers charter airline, Dornier Aviation Nigeria carries out aerial photography, agricultural flying operations as well as emergency medical evacuation services. Unlike the other airlines above, Dornier Aviation Nigeria do not have a specific scheduled destinations. This airline have 17 fleet of aircrafts i.e 14 Dornier 228-212 and 3 Dornier 328-110.

6. KABO AIR
Kabo Air was founded by Late Alhaji Dankabo in 1980 with its headquarters is in Kano State. Kabo Airline originally operates special charter services for Government officials, executives and corporate bodies but as at 2009, it was approved to start international scheduled flight operation. Two of these international destinations are Jeddah and Dubai. Kabo Air stopped offering domestic flight services in 2001 though it said it will consider that in the nearest future.

Currently, Kabo Air focused only on Hajj operation and international charter services. In it fleet of aircrafts, Kabo only have 2 Boeing 747–200 and 1 Boeing 747–400 making it 3 aircrafts in total. This airline is one of those airline that had really suffered from incidents/accidents in the past. Interestingly, not even a single person had died as a result of such. This is because it normally occurs during landing while one occurred as a result of fire outbreak and one, a plane while taxing hit a parked Kabo plane. In total, about 6 accidents occurred.

7. OVERLAND AIRWAYS
Overland Airways is a domestic airline based in Ikeja, Lagos State which operates domestic services from Lagos and Ibadan. Though it main base is the Murtala Muhammed International Airport Lagos, Nnamdi Azikwe International Airport Abuja is its hub. This airline operates in 8 domestic scheduled destinations. These includes Murtala Muhammed International Airport Lagos, Nnamdi Azikwe International Airport Abuja, Akure Airport, Asaba International Airport, Sir Abubakar Tafawa International Airport Bauchi, Ibadan Airport, Ilorin International Airport and Minna Airport. Currently, it maintains 8 fleet of aircrafts. These includes 3 ATR 42-320, 3 ATR 72-202 and 2 Raytheon Beech 1900D.

8. AIR PEACE
Air Peace with the call sign Peace Bird is a private Nigerian airlines Founded in 2013 with the Murtala Muhammed International Airport Lagos as it main base. This airline provides passengers and charter services to major airports/aerodromes in the Nigerian cities. This airline had been approved by the Federal Government as a national carrier to 5 countries. These includes USA, United Arab Emirates, South Africa, China and India. Peace Bird maintains 7 fleet of aircrafts. These includes 4 Boeing 737-500 SP, 2 Boeing 737-300 and 1 Dornier 328 which is used on a charter flight only.

9. ASSOCIATED AVIATION
Associated Aviation is an airline established in 1996 that operates cargo services aside the passenger services within Nigeria and West Africa as a whole.

This airline is based in Ikeja, Lagos State, Nigeria with the Murtala Muhammed International Airport Lagos as it main base. This airline serves Abuja, Benin, Calabar, Ibadan, Lagos, Makurdi and Jeddah. When it comes to fleet of aircrafts, this airline have only 3. These includes 2 Embraer EMB 120 Brasilia and 1 Embraer ERJ 145. Associated Aviation have had one of their aircrafts (Embraer EMB 120 Brasilia) involved in an accident that killed 15 out of the 20 people on board. This occurred when it was taking the body Dr. Olusegun Agagu (former government of Ondo state) for burial.

10. ALLIED AIRLINE
Allied Airline is a cargo airline with it main base as the Murtala Muhammed International Airport Lagos. This airline operates scheduled as well as charter services in Nigeria and other countries in Africa. This airline have only 3 Boeing 737-400F. It had also had one of it air-crafts involved in an accident in Ghana where the plane, a Boeing 727-200F operating flight Allied Air Flight 111 overshot the runway and ran into a minivan killing 10 people in the van while 4 crew members were injured. This incident occurred June 2, 2012.

Christianity has become so misunderstood. We’ve started seeing it as a list rules to follow instead of a vibrant, healing, redeeming, life-giving relationship with our Creator. In fact, I rarely like to use the word “can’t” and “Christian” in the same sentence, because I believe the essence of our faith is about freedom and the fact that we …”CAN do all things through Christ. ” (Philippians 4:13).




For all our freedoms in Christ, I’m deeply concerned that many of us have lost sight of the essence of Christianity. While it was never intended to be a set of rules to follow, we’ve adopted some destructive attitudes and behaviors that are undermining the foundation on which our faith should be built. This list below isn’t a call to any form of legalism or any attempt to earn God’s unmerited grace, but rather, a simple reminder about what it means to live in the freedom and grace our Savior gave His life to make possible for us.




This list is not comprehensive, but all of these are important. When you blow it in any of these areas (as most of us do daily) remember that God’s grace is bigger than our biggest sins! Embrace His grace and move forward in a better direction.




A Christian should NEVER…






1. Hold a grudge.
As I read the Bible, one of the most sobering realities is that while God’s grace to us is limitless, He gives it to us in the same measure we give it to others. In other words, we CAN’T receive God’s grace unless we’re willing to also forgive the people who have wronged us.


Augustine said, “Holding a grudge is like drinking poison and then hoping the other person dies! ” Jesus Himself teaches this important truth in many places including his famous Parable of the Unforgiving Debtor. As a Christian, we have to receive God’s forgiveness and we have to share forgiveness with others. It’s that simple.



“Make allowance for each other’s faults, and forgive anyone who offends you. Remember, the Lord forgave you, so you must forgive others.” (Colossians 3:13)



“Then Peter came to him and asked, “Lord, how often should I forgive someone who sins against me? Seven times?” “No, not seven times,” Jesus replied, “but seventy times seven!” (Matthew 18:21-22)




2. Devalue or mistreat children.


We live in a culture that seems to value pets more than kids. We live in a world where more children than ever are being exploited through sexual slavery, human trafficking and other horrific abuses and Christians should be on the front lines in rescuing and protecting these kids, but too often, the plight of orphans and abused children is treated like an inconvenient distraction in modern churches.





There are also millions of Christians who support abortion rights which is the most dehumanizing practice of our time. It isn’t a political issue, but a moral travesty.




3. Misuse sex (or misuse another person for our own gratification).


Our culture is the most sexually exploited and exploitive culture in the history of the world. We’re so saturated with sexually-exploitive images that we don’t even think of it as strange anymore than a fish in the ocean doesn’t realize he’s wet…it’s just the only world he knows. As Christians, we are called to a high standard. We shouldn’t be having sex outside of marriage or looking at porn






4. Be anxious, worried or afraid.

This one doesn’t seem possible on the surface, but God is always calling us to do things that don’t seem possible. On nearly every page of scripture, He is telling us to stop worrying or to trust Him. He clearly wants us to understand that He is bigger than whatever we’re worrying about. When we choose to go through life preoccupied by fear or doubt, we are allowing worry to occupy the part of our heart where faith should live.



Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus. ” (Philippians 4:6-7)
“This is my command—be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid or discouraged. For the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.” (Joshua 1:9)



“Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes? Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life?” (Matthew 6:25-27)

Minumum Wages in Nigeria & Few Other Countries

The latest news on minimum wage in Nigeria shows that the various arms of government of the country are not ready to discuss not to talk of increase the minimum wage to a reasonable amount owing to how expensive things in Nigeria has increased and even the economy.

We did a little research on how much some countries collect as their minimum salaries and found out that Nigeria is at the losing end when compared to what other countries collect. What even shocked us was even the salary of a lawmaker in Luxembourg and that of a Nigerian senator salary. The difference is just too glaring.

BELOW IS A LIST OF MINIMUM WAGES BY COUNTRIES OF THE WORLD
1. Nigeria – $38 (N18,000).
2. Algeria – $175 (N83,000).
3. Belgium – $1,738 (N810,000).
4. Cameroun – 36, 270CFA ($75) N38,000.
5. Chad – $120 (N60,000).
6. Denmark – $1,820 (N900,000).
7. Libya – $430 (N190,000).
8. Japan – $1000 (N450,000).
9. Cote D’ivoire - 36,607CFA $72.
10. New Zealand -$3,187 (N1.4m).
11. Luxemburg – $2,500 (N1.1m).
12. Spain – $760. (N300,000).
13. Switzerland – $5,620 – N2.5m.
14. USA – $11 per hour.

Ironically, Nigeria politicians earn the highest salaries the whole world. In Luxemburg where minimum wage is $2,500, their lawmakers are paid $7,400. In Libya where minimum wage is $430, law-makers earn $3000. In Nigeria where minimum wage is $38 (N18,000), law-makers earn $65,000 (N29m). What a shame.

It is believed that Jesus Christ is blameless and without any sin or blemish, and was so even while he was earth.

A Twitter user identified as @JajaPHD, has tried to prove that he was indeed with sin, as he 'killed himself'.

He claims that as the Bible said he 'sacrificed himself', that it means he actually killed himself.

He shared a tweet saying: "If you even think about it, you’ll see that Jesus committed suicide. The bible says that he laid down his life. Self sacrifice is suicide."

Nike has launched two new cases for the iPhone 7 based around its popular range of shoes, the Nike Air Force 1 and the Nike Roshe. The cases feature the respective tread pattern on the back.

The Air Force 1 is available in Blue while the Roshe is available in Team Crimson and Green Glow. Both cases are made out of hard 100% thermoplastic polyurethane material.

Both cases are unfortunately only available for the iPhone 7 and no other iPhone model.

Both cases are priced at $35.

Three young men between the age of 21 and 26 have been arrested by the Abuja police command for abducting a 16-year-old girl in Gwarimpa, Abuja.

The young girl who was kidnapped on April 18, 2017, was lured with the promises of being scouted for a modelling job interview.

NAIJ.com learnt that their victim was however released two days later after her family had paid a ransom of N400,000 to the kidnappers.

The gang leader of the kidnappers, 24 year-old Edache Echoga, and native of Apa in Benue state was eventually arrested at Kubwa area of Abuja.
Echoga confessed to the crime and admitted receiving N200,000 as his share of the paid ransom.

His confession resulted to the arrest of the 2 other gang members, Festus Ajiboye, age 26, an indigene of Ondo state and Ahmed Hassan from Kano state, age 21.

Ajiboye and Hassan were both arrested in Lagos state on April 23, 2017 after they travelled to spend the share of their ransom.

The victim's phone, which was used in negotiating her ransom, and her jewelry were recovered from the kidnappers.

The suspects however pleaded that this is their first time of committing such crime

Meanwhile, Delta police command has confirmed the kidnap of a lecturer attached to the Delta State University, Oleh campus, one Mr. Kingsley Uwubiti.

Andrew Aniamaka, the state police public relations officer, told NAIJ.com that the case was initially treated as armed robbery but the unfolding event showed that it is a kidnap case, hence the state anti-kidnap squad of the police command had swung into action to apprehend the suspects.

Aniamaka further told NAIJ.com that the anti-kidnap unit of the police had made some arrests but “we’ve not been able to see the connection between the suspects arrested and the particular one that did the kidnapping.
