Every State needs a Governing Council. Yes, they will determine who governs and hold the Governors accountable...yes, they will serve as Kingmakers...and yes, they may share from the state resources...but you will get peace, continuity, agreed direction as to where the state is headed, and a system that actually creates checks and balances.

Right now, most Governors are not accountable to anyone. They wake up and decide who's business to demolish and who they need to deal with ..using state powers. They control the LGA Elections winning it all and putting their folks in power, that cannot say jack. Then control the Judiciary, so there are no checks and balances...the Govs pick their legislators and our only hope is after they are done with holding power...if we are lucky to get opposition to take control and investigate.

The current system is not working. EFCC cannot be in all places and ICPC cannot function without documents...the Civil Servants are crafted to do the bidding of the Govs as it currently stands, and the Govs divert resources for Elections regardless of the party. We need a different foolproof system. We need Governing Councils in all our States...for continuity, for progress just like the Olubadan. No drama...we all know who takes over when one dies. Look at Lagos GAC...hate or love it, you do not see major crisis and if it rears its head, it is quickly managed. No wonder Lagos remains the Gold Standard.

The Loyalty you see in Lagos is not to Tinubu, but to his political ideology. It appears that they all bow to this man; meanwhile, he has successfully planted his ideology within the political system in Lagos and has even used that ideology to mobilise the Governing Council in Lagos.

You all want prosperity in Nigeria, but you don't realise that the stability enjoyed by the likes of Dubai, Singapore, and China today was built on the ideology of "One man".

Right before everyone's eyes, Lagos became a template of a "Working system" in Nigeria, we now see situations where other states send delegates to Lagos to learn the system... But do you know why that happens?..... Efficiency, Consistency, and Resilience.

I have come to the conclusion that for a state to enjoy true dividends of democracy, the political structure of such a state must be resistant to political change, and at the same time maintain an open arm to innovation and cultural change.

If you think APC is equal to hypocrisy, I'd say it's too early to judge. Why not wait till after 24years of straight APC governance in Nigeria before you begin to judge?
