EgunMogaji: An interesting point.
So I wonder if Nigerian Insurance companies offer full replacement value for accidents like this? I'm yet to see someone who got a full value. Some insurance companies pay(usually with a lot of pressure) but what they pay must be a percentage. |
Travel › Re: Excessive Speeding Cause Accident In Lagos - Photos by thorpido(m): 6:27pm On Mar 05, 2016 |
EgunMogaji: No, the high impact will not always crush the occupants. Look at this accident for example, we have not heard of any casualty. Also even though Princess Diana died from not wearing a seatbelt in the back seat but the front occupant survived.
A car being destroyed in an accident is not a concern in developed countries and is to be expected where these car was designed for because the insurance company will replace it. I see what you're saying.Preserving the lives of the occupants is more important than the loss of the car.In developed countries, the cars can easily be replaced.I guess I was looking at it from the position of a car owner here |

EgunMogaji: Actually what you wrongly considered as cardboard is why they mostly didn't die.
Modern cars have crush zones now. The absorb the impact by deforming instead of transferring that energy to the occupants on the inside.
Have no doubt that this was a very high speed accident hence the immense damage to the vehicle.
They should be thankful that they were in a BMW and not in a Hyundai or something of lesser quality. Hmmm. The high impact will still crush the occupants and most times the cars are irreparable. I guess absorbing the impact by deforming saves more lives. |

Not being an illiterate is to understand the difference between formal and informal. It's usually not right to write this way in public but some people could get away with it based on the character they want to sell to the public. Illiterates don't know the difference and are quick abuse those who do. |

You guys should communicate more.If she had plans for such a wedding, she should have notified you earlier so you can make plans towards it or let her know your current situation that you can't afford extra expenses. Moreover she's not working so she should be frugal with cash. If you can afford the expense, then provide for the wedding but if you can't,tell her no and that if things change before the wedding you can still provide.
By the way,a lot of wives are understanding. |

Romance › Re: I Loved Him, He Broke My Heart, And I Have Been Cursing Him Deep. by thorpido(m): 5:39pm On Mar 02, 2016 |
Moppsys: Hi guys, I just want your honest advice as I am new here
My boyfriend recently broke up with me, I really love him (deeply) and he claimed he loved me too. we dated before 4years ago and we got back together in June 2015. Things has been going well between us, he introduced me to all his family and extended and marriage plans were on the way.He promised me marriage ( Don't get me wrong he did not propose) but we talk marriage everyday, future plans, we have planned the wedding and even started looking at venue. We were already planning on getting our first house together, deposit etc.. and things are all in place. unfortunately he caught me checking his phone (He has been flirting with other girls) and I set him up, even though he played right into my hands he found out that set him up and he got really annoyed and told his family about it and said he needs time to think about the relationship because I invaded his privacy and set him up and for that reason he is not safe with me.
few days later he came back saying he owe me an apology that when we got back together last year it was not genuine, he was bored, he was pressured to get married and he saw that I was available at the time based on my predicament (I came out of an hurtful marriage) so he felt like he should just be with me since we have dated before
I felt really hurt and used, even though it was my fault for checking his phone I begged him to take me back but he refused, I have been struggling to deal with the pain as I do not want to lose him. I have been cursing him everyday ( as long as he lives unless he comes back to beg me, he will never experience true love from a woman every again) because he failed in his words and I felt like he used me for those reasons he gave.
please am I right in cursing him or should I just leave him and let him be, I really love him and I am hurting, because he failed to address the fact that he was flirting and his family are so biased as well The bolded is what you ought to think deeply about. Why do you want to hold on to a man who really doesn't feel you and deeply want a future with you?The problem is not that you were checking his phone.you found out he has been flirting anyway.Do you want a man that is not stable? You say you are divorced and you didn't say why but I'll tell you something..... Don't get desperate. |
Celebrities › Re: Olajumoke Orisagunna Shoots For Mania Magazine by thorpido(m): 5:32pm On Mar 02, 2016 |
MadCow1: Bro.. Jumoke is no Naomi Campbell.
Her brand is not in being a professional Model, but her story/background.
There are over 5000 professional Models, their is only one Jumoke type model.
Take away her story and her market appeal vanishes.
She cant ask for more because she does not even have a clue how much her brand is currently worth.
T.Y Bello as a business woman indeed deserves to make money off of her. But if the split is 80/20 in favor of T.Y Bello, its exploitation.
Tuface was a street artist hussling cassette tapes and D.J's to get airplay. Then came Keke and D1 that elevated him and put a whole lot at his feet including a car, accomodation, free professional studio time, shows and all.. But they were still exploiting the kid because he was worth way more than what ever he was getting from them.
Its like the Oil companies and host communities. Oil companies build them schools, give them roads, give them electricity and some of those petty stuff which put together is not even up to 5% of the profit they are making off of the oil they are mining. Should the Oil community be satisfied just for that or ask they get a fair reward.
Jumoke is a brand. Just because she had nothing before and is ignorant of what she is worth and just because she is better off now than where she previously was does not mean she should be exploited.
I am not saying she is being exploited, but the business world is filled with wolves and I hope to God her handlers give her a fair amount of her earnings. You're making a whole lot of sense.Unfortunately, her husband might just be as naïve as her in this business. She probably doesn't have anyone educated enough to let her know how much is due her in all these deals. |
