you are right my family plays a big role in this. i have considered seeing a psychologist but am not really the type of person that opens up easily or likes to talk about my problems. I also find the fact that paying someone to 'talk' about why I am depressed of which I already know why is simply a waste of money and time.

Talking about your problems is therapy itself especially if you do to trained personnel.It's not a waste of money because they help solve the problem.
If you have the money anyway but it's cheap if you go to a government institution.
Whichever way it is,get help.
You will be alright.

I've tried but one can't exactly learn a skill.the thing is I had a plan for my life down to the detail and its been jus ripped up.
The plan was to get a bsc in business then go to law school. It's not even the delay that gets to me but just being stagnant

If you don't mind,can you provide more details?Is the problem finance or you have not been able to get admission into any school?

I'm tired, I never in my life thought I would consider ending it. But for the past couple of months ive considered it.
Most people get a bad year here and there, I've had 3 in a row. Was in my 3rd yr in uni, my dad got sick, had to come to naija cos it seemed dire
Thankfully he's better but since then everything I plan fails.
Tried going back to school here/there all fell through. Everyone around me seems to be moving forward but I'm just stuck.
The one positive that kept me from the edge is gone. I'm the last person to speak my feelings out,rather just bottle it in.

If going back to school is not working out,how about acquiring a skill?Not everyone will make something with a certificate anyway.There must be an area that interests you and I think you should acquire a skill in that area.

Also, Research has shown that children raised by both parents under one roof, are more "psychologically better-adjusted", than children raised by a single parent.... but that is a no-brainer, it should be obvious like a ore thumb!

So, in conclusion, "Research has proved that there is a HIGH CORRELATION between being raised by a SINGLE PARENT and a capacity of end up in Prison as a result of falling put with the law!
This goes to buttress the cliché that "Two good heads (parents), are better than one".

Now, let me point out that "Statistical Research" itself, is a "generalised outcome" based on percentages......Percentages "High enough" to represent the population.
There would be one or two (as you have pointed out), but[b] highly insignificant "DEVIATION" from the trend.[/b]... but they are so small as to be considered insignificant.

I think the biggest problem you have is that you don't get much love from your family.If they don't give you that love,you can find true friends that will be family to you.
I think you should see a doctor or clinical psychologist that will help you.

Hmm,special homes especially in a country like Nigeria have their own challenges;inadequate funding,not enough hands,incapable hands etc.

You shld learn to distinguish probability from proof. And the probability is simply because one system is more traditional and therefore more popular than the other. There are simply no guarantees in raising children. Period.

Whether married or single, the important thing is making your best efforts. There are even people who were raised by neither parents and still turned out well. Many of the older generation were raised by grandparent(s)

You're still getting it wrong.I didn't say there was a guarantee that a child raised by both parents will turn out well.I'm talking about comparative studies done which show a higher percentage of well behaved children in both parents' homes compared with single parent homes.People have done researches so we're not talking about probabilities here but research studies.It's social science so there are works done on it.
Note that it's a question of higher percentage.

Well I dont know about that phantom "research" but at the very least we both agree that marriage is not a criteria for bringing up kids. Cos whether the parents are married or not is not a guarantee that they will have good kids. Its great to have two parents living under the same roof as the perfect family, but there is nothing wrong with single parenthood.

I understand where you are coming from.No one is condemning single parenthood but there's something called relativity.It's been proven that children raised by both parents fare better than children raised by single parents.
