chima12: The man has no complex.he is only trying to protect his son.the woman obviously took him for granted cos he speaks yoruba.the man is simply saying I am esan and my son is esan,if he can't speak esan, then he should not speak yoruba.
He should have married an esan lady if it is all about him.Once you choose to marry outside your tribe, you should accommodate the other side too.I didn't marry from my tribe and I understand the children will pick up their mother's language too and I don't mind.

kendraloops: I get you ma'am. I've never insisted that the baby will speak just yoruba or say he's not from Edo. I'd NEVER do that. All I'm wondering is why is it such a big deal to him. To me, it'll be an added advantage to the child.

Hubby says he's scared of baby developing funny yoruba accent as a result of speaking the language of which I've assured him such will never happen lailai.
Funny yoruba accent?I'm right for saying your husband's got a complex. He speaks esan and he doesn't think the Esan accent is deep too?I have friends who are Esan and the accent is just as deep as yoruba.
Family › Re: Banned From Speaking My Language To My Baby by thorpido(m): 7:42pm On Nov 09, 2013
Your husband has a complex and is unnecessarily insecured.
Why did he marry from another tribe if all he wanted was his own tribe?Who says the son cannot learn even the two languages and more?
Op,do u live in the south-west?if you do,then don't sweat nothing cos your son will still learn yoruba.
I didn't marry from my tribe and i understand my child will pick more than one language along the way and that is not an issue for me.

Sorry u hubby just got issues!

The natural method:that is knowing your cycle and able to calculate when you are safe or not.
*The use of pills which are taken daily throughout the month.

*The use of IUCD(or coil) which prevents pregnancy from growing in the womb.
*The use of a diaphragm which is a form of barrier preventing the sperm and egg from meeting to fertilise.
*Tubal ligation which is used for those who don't have plans of having more children.

You can read more about each one on the net.

Postinor 2 is an emergency contraceptive. It is not a drug to be used everytime.
There are other ways of preventing pregnancy, why don't you use that.

talktimi: Some years back, a friend of mine's pregnant elder sister suddenly had a violent fit of cough at night so her mother had to rush her to the hospital (BMH port harcourt). When they got there, the dr on duty calmly walked past them saying there's "no bed" the mother was pleading that she would lay a wrapper on the floor but that the dr should pls administer first aid. The dr scornfully refused, walked to her car and drove off at that mid night and without administering first aid. The mother managed to bring her home that night with the intention of taking her to UPTH or any private clinic by day break but the lady died before 6am just because a dr refused to attend to her.
Hmmmm.I find this hard to believe. Are u sure this was what really transpired?
It's possible for a hospital to reject a patient. There are some patients brought in as bad cases and some hospitals will not accept.

smartchoice: Oga Drug interaction, pharmcology n pharmaco-kinetics a search on google or reading the drugs leaflet may educate you! Talking like one of those criminals in white is not a reasonable thing.

Can you imagine I was deceived by these callous beings in white that there was no space in the photo-therapy light section used to treat jaundice, hence they directed me to another criminal in white who heads the gynecology unit who has his private hospital in town Mother n Child specialist....where I was billed more than the cost of ante natal and child birth for a 12 hour photo therapy treatment without drugs! It took a call to a doctor in U.C.H Ibadan to bail me out!

While there, I observed that he also had a still born in a funny looking incubator, after collecting about 50,000 from the parents he told them they had to drop more as their money had expired in less than a week! Yet this criminal has the clout and influence to get them an incubator @ d Teaching hospital which was less than 2 kilometres away in fact his reapers at the Teaching hospital sent them as I later learnt!

The saddest part was that over the weekend the Shylock doctor (female pediatrician) he employed did not come around hence the baby was left at the mercy of auxiliary nurses since there's no single qualified nurse in the whole hospital!
I know you're upset but you can't prove what you wrote up here. These are just mere speculations.
Health › Re: Deceased’s Relations Beat-up Nurse, For Administering "Wrong Medication" by thorpido(m): 7:04am On Nov 06, 2013
The title is misleading. The story shows something different.
Relatives can be unnecessarily aggressive when they lose a loved one and in their ignorance blame it on the medical personnel.Someone who has not been receiving treatment for a chronic liver ailment and they think it was the injection that killed her?I'm not saying there are not errors in medical practice but often times the agression is misplaced.
A patient's relative came with a gun to the hospital where i used to work recently to threaten the staff because the sister who had terminal cancer died.

What kind of BIL is laying hands on a SIL?Very disrespectful. The guy is just not a matured guy at all.
@Op,you obviously infuriated him and I guess you and your BIL have issues to settle. You seem to have a deep seated beef about something for each other.

If it's possible for you to stay away from them, just find your own level.
Romance › Re: I'm Older Than He is , But He Is Hell Bent On Marrying Me! by thorpido(m): 5:28pm On Nov 05, 2013
Well seems you can't marry him cos your heart is not there including other factors of age, responsibility, maturity,a child etc.
He seems to be infatuated by your maturity and experience(what I call Usher Raymond factor).I don't think he's matured enough to handle what he wants to get into.
Let him go by winding him down.Give him less attention and hardly pick his calls. It may seem rude cos I think you have a nice heart but it's good for him.As long as he gets your attention, his infatuation won't go away and it's not helping him.

italo: You admit that Saints are like Angels.

You say that Angels can hear prayers.

You say that Saints cannot hear prayers.

It seems that you are confused.
If you read english well, you wouldn't have to write this.'Saints are like angels' does not mean they are angels!Chimpanzees are like humans does not mean they are humans!

You're the one who is confused here.

Like i said, since you have resulted into insults i won't go on with you.Insults are for kids.I ain't one.

I'm outta 'ere.Unfollows thread.

italo: In Jesus' parable, the rich man was in hades and Abraham was in heaven. How did Abraham hear his prayer to him?
I won't bother arguing with you since you have resulted to insults.
There are a lot of kids on this forum and i guess you are one of them.Insults are for kids.

You said Jesus' parable.Do you know the meaning of a parable?
Christianity Etc › Re: Is Virgin Mary Omnipotent, Omnipresent And Omniscient? by thorpido(m): 10:29am On Nov 04, 2013
Mary and the saints(saints are those who have died and those of us in Christ who are here on the earth) are like Jesus.

Mary however does not have the authority of Jesus and cannot play His role. The only mediator for man on the earth is Jesus Christ.
Christianity Etc › Re: Is Virgin Mary Omnipotent, Omnipresent And Omniscient? by thorpido(m): 2:49pm On Nov 03, 2013
No she is not.she cannot even hear the prayers people offer to her.She is not in such a position.
Jesus said when people die, they become like(not that they are)angels in heaven(Matt.22:30)
Only God and angels can hear prayers with the angels carrying out instructions.
No dead man or woman is in a position to hear prayers.

Jesus is the only mediator between God and man(1 Timothy 2:5).

Romance › Re: Get Married To This Other Guy Or Wait? Please Advice by thorpido(m): 3:58pm On Nov 02, 2013
I will advise that you(that friend as you say) go ahead and marry this present guy.
However follow basic things about getting married which includes dating to know each other and be sure you are compatible.
Also be sure that he loves you and that you love him and not that you want to go into marriage because you are desperate or that he wants to marry quick.

Dap07: check out what connects jesus, christmas, mithra and constatine
If a house was used for idol worship and it's converted into a church, does it mean that the house is not fit for God because it was formerly used for idol worship?

'Wisdom is justified of her children'.

xolomonstrides: are u saying murder, stealing, and the likes are pure to the pure? THE ANSWER IS OBVIOUS. first of all there is no denomination in christ jesus 1COR 1: 13(is christ divided?) also read 2JOHN 1:9-10 which says whosoever does not abide in the doctrine of christ have not both the son nor the father. Christ Has His OWN Doctrine And It Is Contained In The Bible. It Is The Only Doctrine We Should Hold On To.
So what really is the problem with Christmas?Do some people worship santa claus?

Anyway merry christmas in advance!

^^^whatever opinion you have about Christmas is based on a denominational doctrine.
The bible says to the pure all things are pure and to the impure all things are impure.
