Celebrities › Re: Ayo Adesanya Tries Removing Tattoo, Says It’s A Sin To Have It by thorpido(m):
ngoziliz: Leviticus 19:26-28

for guys who shave, how can i explain verse 27

26 ‘You shall not eat anything with the blood, nor shall you practice divination or soothsaying.
27 You shall not shave around the sides of your head, nor shall you disfigure the edges of your beard.
28 You shall not make any cuttings in your flesh for the dead, nor tattoo any marks on you: I am the Lord.
People quote scriptures without fully understanding.Don't they see where it says'FOR THE DEAD'?Are all tattoo marks for the dead? And what about shaving in verse 27?People just follow others teaching ignorantly.
Tattoos are not sin except is done for initiation into a cult, some idol worship or for worship related to the dead.
I dnt av tattoos and dnt like it but I study Scriptures and dnt just follow ignorance.

Christianity Etc › Re: I Need Help! by thorpido(m):
Read Mark 4:1-32.Something in that passage aptly describes your situation.
Also in John6:66-69,some of the disciples of Jesus turned back and chose not to follow Him again. He turned to the twelve disciples and asked if they also will go away,Simon Peter said,'Lord to whom shall we go?Thou hast the words of eternal life'.
If a man turns from God and His Christ,to whom or what shall they go.They become like wanderers in the desert, looking for what they will never find.A thirst in their souls that will never be quenched.
Jesus has words of eternal life.No prophet or philosopher ever did.

I once had a neighbour whose 3yr old son also fell from the last floor of a 2-story building. The boy had a fracture on one leg and a few bruises.
God has a way of keeping children.
Christianity Etc › Re: Would You Have Believed Jesus To Be The Son Of God If You Were Born In His Time? by thorpido(m): 8:01am On Mar 01, 2013
The same heart of unbelief and the one to believe existed then even as it does now.
There were those who followed the books of the prophets and when they saw Jesus, heard His words and saw His works believed.Examples include the woman by the well,Jairus and his family, the Centurion and his family, the woman whose daughter had a demon, the woman with the issue of blood etc.

If u were alive then and saw these works and heard His words, will you believe? Many saw and still rejected. Two significant groups were those who said He cast out demons with the spirit of Belzeebub and those who saw the blind man beside the temple receive sight.

The question is are u alive to God?The bible says all men shall be taught of the Lord.If u are alive to God and your heart open to Him,you will believe.

Taeewo: I dont know why christians dont ask their pastor(s) question during sermon..check NEHIMAIH 8 VERSE 6 and ask ur pastor the meaning..
Stop deceiving yourself. They bowed their faces to the ground does not mean they also placed their foreheads on the ground. Moreover they did not do it as a daily routine.
It's common knowledge that the books of the Jews and the Bible was where prophet Muhammed got many ideas.

Segeggs: @thorpido.
you just showed me u r not a christian.when judas complained about the expensive perfume dat it should have been given to d poor, jesus told him dat d poor u will always have but d messiah-NO!so he wanted to be cherished while around and after he leaves, the poor should be cherished .but christians like u and anita prefer lavishing d money on birthdays, inviting expensively dressed people thereby chasing away poor people cos their dress would be shabby and below standards.
check out d calibre of people at anita's celebrate;were they any poor man there?were u even invited?
concerning christmas,u got it all wrong.read ur bible and make researches

jechona: - yes the health state of most Nigerians is bad but i believe appropriate attention rather than nagging can help their situation.

-yes the hospital is not a charity organisation but that is not enough reason for the exploitation most hospitals do.

-how cases when go to the hospital (what happened to me, spending a whole monday in a state hospital in osogbo and can't be attended to, reasons being that there is no light, and the hospital can't put on a generator that is not faulty) is it part of the investigation for proper diagnosis too?

- for the word 'most', perhaps I don't have a dictionary, you can help me with one.

- for me being misinformed, I will appreaciate it if you get me properly informed. So we can seize the bull by the horn when we have the opportunity to make Nigeria better.
Thank you.
Doctors are not trained to put on generators. You will have to face the government.

Segeggs: going to school or not doesnt stop u from beign a christian.paul and some of the apostles had some form of education but they ensured that they remained in line with the practices of jesus.birthday celebration leads to extravagant lifestyles with money dat could have been used for charity spent lavishly indulging people in excessive drinking, dancing provocatively, sex etc.dont tell me dat christians celebrate their birthday in a different manner cos its thesame excuse u guys give for christianizing d pagan christmas.

answer this question:which adds to the gospel-birthday or education?
I understand where u are coming from.I'll remind you of the story of when a woman came to pour an expensive perfume on Jesus and some criticised it and said it was a waste and it could have been sold and the money given to the poor. You belong to that school of thought that 'it could have been sold and the money given to the poor instead of wasting it'.It's a mindset that comes with indoctrination.
No one is ruling out the fact that there could be excesses but I guess u have never been at a classy wedding before where class and moderation were shown.
You speak about pagan Christmas?Learn more...pagans don't celebrate Christmas. It's the same ignorance when people talk about pentecostal Christians. The people who celebrated pentecost were not Christians.Get knowledge rather than just indoctrination.

Physically,it might have to do with the pressure a man is subjected to.He has to take care of a family and has to work harder than the average woman.Often he takes up physically demanding jobs. All these take their toll on a man's health.

Physiologically,a woman is actually stronger than a man, though a man is physically stronger.A male spermatozoon lives for a few days while the females outlive the males when released for example.

Segeggs: wedding is ordained by God that was why christ went but when herod celebrated his birthday jesus never went.the only righteous man at the event was john the baptist who got beheaded thesame way pharaoh beheaded one of his staffs on his birthday.

you are the pharisee or sadducee that wants to continue with the TRADITIONS OF MEN thereby neglecting christ and his ways
Jesus never went to school. It must therefore be a sin to go to school.
Did you ever read in the bible that it is better to keep quiet than to talk and expose folly?Stop showing further ignorance and keep quiet.

She should go for physiotherapy in OAU.The scope of physiotherapy as a course is wider, the salary is better, the position in service is higher. In Nigeria, lab scientists will get jobs easier because there are more spaces available for them to work than for physiotherapists but all in all, physiotherapy is better.

[quote author=SELFWORTH]thorpido: I think you have an issue with your selfworth.
How many people's birthdays have been celebrated on Nairaland? Why is this one an issue for you?

I have a problem with these kind of useless posts sending birthday congratulations to people who don't know you exist on a public forum. Really everyone should come on here and be sending birthday congrats to every Sue and Harry in their family including the family goats, chicken, dogs, lizards etc

Please explain to me the purpose of this post to NL members so I can understand . Becos right now, I don't see the point. A forum is a place to share views not post birthday messages to people publicly who don't know you exist.Okay I get your drift. You just don't like the messages being posted here.
Don't rule out Rev Anita being a member of Nairaland.

We need to be more security conscious.I read he was with a Toyota Highlander and drove out at 5.30am.
There nothing wrong with cruising the kind of car you want but a car like that at such hours on a lonely road puts you at risk.
Be prayerful always and before you step out of the house.Listen to your inner man.

The same ignorance expressed when it comes to the issue of wearing earings or not. That they used gold to make a graven image means using gold is a sin.

Ye err not knowing the Scriptures....
