So an offering has no specific amount. When are offerings collected?

What type of stuff are seeds given for? Are they personal or church related?
Offerings are given as part of a service and it has no specific amount. You give of your free will.
Seeds are given by the giver in expectation for something from God.It is the giver that determines what he wants to give.
I believe all money collected is used for expenditure and in ministry work. How the money is spent is a different issue but that is what it is meant for.

debrief08: Mrs. Manson, do they even care if you are married? They are into full time solicitation. Na wetin them go chop take do big boy dey worry them.
Several times I take my boys out to watch a Movie and they are there hanging around trying to chat up an obviously marrieed woman with a baby not even walking yet.

Once one was offering us a ride as we were leaving it was sso bad even his friend said, "haba can't you see she is married"? I said " I wonder oh, I don't know if you expect me to load my sons and follow you" to which he shamelessly replied" do you know where your husband is and what he is doing? He is also keeping a younger lady, am only trying to help"
My dear, na this one my people dey say "endtime"

Truth is that laziness and covetousness has eaten deep into our system, I won't say its poverty because their mates are putting down certificates doing menial jobs while still applying for white collar jobs.
The guy who grinds tomatoes for us in the market for over a year, hubby will even call him and ask him to buy the tomatoes and grind so when we get there its already done and we repay him.
He did it so well and was always so well behaved that Oga asked him if he would consider going back to school, that's when he shocked my husband and told him he is currently studying for a masters while job searching with a 2.1 in Economics. That he normally passes stage 1 but when it gets to interview he doesn't do so well.
Oga took him one, passed his CV and coached him for interviews, today he works as an Audit staff in a bank.

Now that's potential and not all the flashy I must be big boys around. Like you said they follow you from the parking lot.

Poster, sterotyping ladies from affluent background is wrong, some people are well behaved some are not, depends on upbringing not economic status.
Sisikill, no kill me abeg
These ones are not ordinary guys again, they are male prostitutes.

kooto: LEVITICUS 19V28 dealt with it[Ye shall not make any cuttings in your flesh for the dead, nor print any marks upon you; I am the Lord].
All u people quoting Lev 19:28,did u really read dat Scripture? It says cuttings in your flesh FOR THE DEAD,nor print any marks upon you.The emphasis is marks and cuttings FOR THE DEAD!If d tattoos are a mark for the dead or for initiation into a cult, then it's a sin.If it's just an art work there is no sin in it.

I'm not a member of Okotie's church and i'm not holding brief for him but I like to search and divide the Word of Truth. This is not about emotions that some people are just expressing here.

I dn't av a tattoo and won't advise anyone to get it either.

debrief08: He even stole from her mother who came visiting. It was so e$barssing because it was only 3 of them at home.
The mother cried and cried because the bangle was something she never went without, a gift from a her late mother in law who loved her so much and that was all she had to remember her with.

A friend of my friend shared with us how she went to represent her Dad at a wedding, she went with his official car driven by a driver that's how one guy stayed glued to her through out the wedding.
Every morning woke her up with prayer text and BB, 2 weeks after proposed marriage then 2 months into the relationship called her and said he needed to clear some containers and needed a balance of 3million.
The babe told him she is a civil servant and has never seen 3 million in her life, he reduced to 1. 5 furthered reduced to 500k, the babe told him that all she had on her now was 5k, the criminal asked her to send it so he could buy recharge cards and source for the money else where. I laughed so much that day I almost miscarried
Debrief, there are a lot of guys like these all over town.
However,I always have issues with girls who hang around so long with them.Is it desperation or love as they say that will just keep u hanging for long with a guy who has no ambition and is just obtaining money from you?
Christianity Etc › Re: What Is The Difference Between A Tithe, An Offering And A Seed? by thorpido(m): 9:15am On Jan 15, 2013
A tithe is 10 percent of your income.
An offering is what you give out of your free will.It can be any amount of money.
A seed is an amount of money you give for a specific purpose with the expectation of an outcome you desire. You are the one to determine what amount you want to give.

'All things are lawful but not all things are expedient'.
The tattooing that God condemned in the old testament was done as idolatory, initiation into a cult or some form of mark signifying membership.
Except tattoo today is done as some form of initiation, idolatory or membership of a cult, then it does not constitute sin.
However tattoos are for babies in the things of God.The matured in spiritual things don't touch it.

What do you guys believe in sex before marriage. If yes Why if No Why not.
And if you do think we should wait, how far is too far? Sex is not just about intercourse obviously.

And what do you think of all the unmarried non-virgins who call themselves Christians or Muslims?

I am not judging others ... I am not married yet, the last part of my question came from someone suggesting to me that a true believer would wait for marriage.
a true believer will wait for marriage.End of story.THREAD CLOSED

I will like to say that men,if u ever make a woman pregnant, even if u don't marry her, please be available in your child's life and take responsibilities.I see people grow up without a father and I know the effect it has on them.My ex-girlfriend had a father she never knew.

nagoma: Methods of dealing with crimes are well known especially to the well trained. The key issue is to stop crimes and apprehend criminals and punish them according to the law. Why should I worry when I am not a criminal murderer when these processes are going on to ensure law and order is followed? All the shout of Muslim, Muslims, Muslims is diverting the country from actual crime prevention and offender punishment. I think many people , lots of them on NL enjoy that. A communal punishment for all Nigerian muslims(about 75 million of them) is very much preferred and somewhat enjoyed by the " people" than hunting down the criminals who call themselves Muslims . These criminals and their supporters cannot be more than 3-500, 000 in number .but the choice is to demonize all Muslims. I am sure as a Muslim , I lost more relatives and acquaintance to BH than the anti - Islam noise makers.
You made sense here.In whatever position u find urself to educate others please do.Peace is all we need.
Islam › Re: The Blood Qur’an – Written With The Blood Of Saddam Hussein by thorpido(m): 1:29pm On Jan 08, 2013
nagoma: Those are violent murderous criminals .if you have a serious and sincere leadership and government these criminals will be treated as what they really are - criminals and all the politics of accepting the label they give themselves has no place in law and in fighting crime. Criminals should be seriously dealt with as criminals whether they call themselves, Muslims, devils, witches, saints, or Gods should not change the criminal law.
It's beneficial for some people to continue calling them Muslims and not what they really are - criminals and murderers of innocent people.
Wallahu Aalam.
You also have to understand the complexity of Nigeria. These people claim to be muslims and shout Allahu Akbar. If there is a crackdown on them, there are groups that will rise and claim Islamists are being persecuted. It's complex and I hope u'll admit.

Denn,Babyosisi,Mama-gee,Ogugua and co.The statements could not have come from a doctor,it is usually the press who come up with things like this. You can't believe everything you read. There is a code of confidentiality that will not make doctors talk about a patient's case to the public.
Some of the best doctors abroad were Nigerian trained so it's not as bad as u guys are making it.

4real: It's amazing how backward how medical care still is, how do you have a doctor who believes in juju, then leave the medical profession and go and join babalawo, many people have died in Nigeria for stuffs that they should not have died from, my wife when she was in Nigeria felt tied and went to the hospital at first she was given drips they collected 25k and a week later asked her to come for blood I refused since she was joining me in the uk in a few days when she got to the uk she went for test and there was nothing wrong with her, nothing at all, I know this is strange but when you feel sick google whatever you think is wrong with you, so that your doc just does not pump you full of drips
Doctors may nt be perfect but this comment shows ignorance. There is an aspect of art in medicine. It's sometimes nt as straightforward as putting a nail in wood.
Yes google 2 get knowledge but will google give u differential diagnosis?I see nothing wrong with the approach 2 treatment for ur wife.If nothing was wrong she will nt go 2 d hosp in d first place.

Surah Al-Hashr
Bismillah-Arrahman-Al-Rahim.

He is Allah , other than whom there is no deity, Knower of the unseen and the witnessed. He is the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful.
59:23

He is Allah , other than whom there is no deity, the Sovereign, the Pure, the Perfection, the Bestower of Faith, the Overseer, the Exalted in Might, the Compeller, the Superior. Exalted is Allah above whatever they associate with Him.
59:24

He is Allah , the Creator, the Inventor, the Fashioner; to Him belong the best names. Whatever is in the heavens and earth is glorifying Him. And He is the Exalted in Might, the Wise.

Sadaq-Allahul- Azeem.
As u say Allah is entirely merciful, pls educate ur muslim ummah to also show that mercy.Killing innocent people, destroying and burning properties is not a reflection of the one who understands mercy.

It was more of an involuntary action than a voluntary one.Babies are born with primitive reflexes and the grasp reflex is one of them. It's a response to touch and is present in every newborn except the child has a brain damage.

Christianity Etc › Re: Praying Loudly Vs Praying Quietly: What Do You Guys Think. by thorpido(m): 6:38pm On Jan 03, 2013
Image123 answered your question perfectly. You can choose to pray quietly but there are instances where you should pray out loud.Even Jesus did(read Image123 references). The word for meditation in d OT is 'hagar' and it means to mutter and to roar.Roaring is not a quiet action.

However,to say u have to shout to be heard by God is a misconception. You however need to do it because it does something to your spirit.U need to understand that prayer does not do so much to God but to u d prayee.I however do not subscribe to making noise or disturbing neighbours. What u need to do is go to a quiet place or a field so u can do your shouting.
