Crown Prince: I disagree with you that Lt.Gen.jeremiah Useni was the most SENIOR officer. He (useni)at that time was just a political appointed minister.
The Chief of Defense Staff(CDSO) was the most professional senior officer in the person of Major General Adbulsalami Abubakar...he was professionally the head of the army since the Chief of General staff who was professionally in second command to take over was facing a coup trial..talking aboust Lt.General oladipo diya.
Please and please again,Gen. Useni might senior Abdulsalami in ranks, but Gen. Abdulsalami was a commanding officer of all the military formations.
If you go through a military manual you will see that in a meeting like that held by the SMC that appointments does not rule over ranks, that Abdul was in charge of the nigerians army does not mean he can rule over his seniors it only gives him the power(by appointment) to COMMAND the army and military decisions are not left to him alone to make but he can in certain circumstances hold the last decision. However the reason why you have military Councils on any military goverment(check any country that has had a military regime) is for situations like this, so that the Appointed Officer has power to command and at the same time has lesser power to command(confusing ?) . Ask yourself why would a meeting of the SMC be held to decide who will succeed Abacha if by military procedure the successor is apparently Abdul ? That is because you are wrong in thinking that who commands the army has all power(though in another sense it is)

morpheus24: Great news,

now tell all those Africans enjoying Western lifestyles to completely abandon them and come back to Africa and come build our African civilization back up from where it stopped, with all this new found knowledge of ourselves born inside the clutches of the Westen hegenomy on our psyche, I morpheus propose a repatriation program to take back all our lost souls in all diaspora and return them to their mother country and let us build again. Others have done it , what are we waiting for.

No more trying to emulate western style political systems, way of life, language, dress attire, Iphones, weaves, dolce and Gabana accessories and the likes.

What say you my African brothers!, AFRICA BE FREE!!!!AFRICA BE FREE!!!!.

This kind of repetitious bru ha haing belongs in the 1960's. Please evolve and get a new plan going will ya Cap28!!
i have had discussions with people like you whose indoctrination has made them to think that whenever someone talks about african culture it means walking around naked and living on trees like it was shown on National Geographic. They always respond with "go back to the 1700's "cliche. Although it would be hard for an indoctrinated mind one which has closed his mind to reason and logic to understand that going to your roots does not mean wearing sacks and painting faces. It has nothing to do with iphones or computers but it has to do with re-establishing our identities, culture, morals and ethics.
Many nations which were not colonized retained thier culture and they have more technology than england. Japan would be a good example.
Infact you just made a good living example of what Cap28 is warning against.

I don't need video evidence per se but facts which can be used to build a reasonable motive or a confession by mustapha accepting that he killed abacha could serve as good evidence.
If he ever mentioned that he has video of Abacha and MKO being killed any reasonable journalist would have asked him by WHO ? The whole panel and court would have enquired to find out the same information. Infact it would overshadow everything he has been convicted for and be the order of the day. So far i have not seen where he made such statement nor has anybody came up with it.
If there were any mention of injection then the court or journalist would also ask "BY WHO ?" so far we have not had any question like that nor had i read about the so called injection. Don't you think that it will be absurd to read in a paper how abacha was injected with some unknown substance and the actor was not mentioned, many people will dismiss it as a fabrication instantly.
You can clearly see that there are a lot of loose ends that needs to be tied and whatever informatio we have so far is not enough.

An excerpt from KN Watch Intelligence dispatch for yesterday.
Syria: Special comment. As usual it is impossible to discern the extent or gravity of the fighting based on Syrian opposition reporting and repeated by mainstream western media. For example, western media broadcast video images of a handful of kids shooting wildly from behind a stack of sand bags. No force under fire has time to fill bags with sand, stack them chest high and then begin shooting in the middle of a real fight. This image, which was repeated often, obviously was staged. Then there are the videos of burning tires. Readers now know that the opposition lights tires on fire to simulate fighting, because of the black smoke. The lesson from the past 18 months is that tires on fire means there is no fighting. Kids shooting wildly from behind a stack sand bags and burning tires always mean a staged scene.

Students are still taught that the whiteman LIBERATED AFRICANS, That our great grand fathers are all stupid and barbaric and that the white man brought us christianity that saved us from ourselves. A Whole Nigerian graduate will tell you that colonization was done by missionaries and would think you are crazy when you tell him that the british military killed thousands of his people and enslaved the whole nation. A graduate have never heard of the "Ekumeku Movement" or the "Mau Mau uprising", a graduate thinks that his cultures and the moral principles it promotes are backward and outdated. A graduate thinks neo-colonialism is conspiracy theory. NONE of the nursery, primary and secondary schools teaches the history of the people that constitutes Nigeria and none teaches ethics national studies that would make the young children be patriotic and love thier country.
What then do they learn in school ?
PoliticsRe: Al Mustapha Hamzat killed Abacha? by thoth: 7:38am On Jul 18, 2012
GenBuhari: People should have the right to questions of me :

1) If I was in the room when Abacha died
Nobody was denied the right to Question the CIO, He has been probed and he gave his own account. Until now no one has publicly disputed the validity of his account with evidence. If you have the time and resources you can get a court warrant to question him as well(journalists do that all the time)
2) If I failed to consult / invite Abacha's closest colleagues in the regime before his enemies
please understand that in this situation nobody is Abacha's friend. The SMC is the only friend to be invited according to military procedures and if the CIO had invited any other person it would have been trouble for him.
My actual questions were ;who apart from the SMC was invited ?
Who are the enemies that were invited apart from the SMC ?
3) If allowed power to pass to a person who was very close to Babangida (who was not on speaking terms with Abacha) who almost immediately commenced an unfair and malicious "blind" probe on Abacha despite his good performance
The CIO did not choose who to succeed Abacha the SMC did. Once with power the leader can do his own bids and everything he does from that time is beyond the control of the CIO or SMC. He can jail any of them or even retire them and form a new council. The man that took over after Stalin started Destalinization(exactly like Abdulsalami).
Unless there are other ways which you meant that ; i don't see the CIO as a king maker of any sort.

GenBuhari: @ OYINBOGOJU
I agree IBB killed Abacha, but he had help from a traitor in Abacha's inner circle and that traitor I suspect, was Al Mustapha.
Don't even waste your energy on that article. I have read that article in many places and i always arrive at the conclusion that it is the most stupid, tribalism laced, hatred laced, uniformative and disinforming fabrication the public has ever been fed since after the IBB era. A poor attempt at disinformation and character assasination by a scorned idiot leading to his inability to withhold his grudge from screaming out of his writings.
Due to the length of the article i will be raising my points section by section.
Point 1: Abacha wrote what he SECRETLY INTENDS TO DO and somehow "left the room for a minute" and some schmuck saw it and blakalalalalala
why would he write it down when he can keep it in his mind ?
Why would he write such a sensitive information down (he is not ten years old)
If he wrote it down what then were they discussing at that meeting that raised his concerns to start writing stuff down stupidly.
Now ask yourselves how the three things he wrote down relate to each other.

I really really hate it when some slowpoke thinks everybody is stupid.
Pls GenBuhari go through that article again, divide it into sections and see if any of the section can stand a validity test on his own.
PoliticsRe: Al Mustapha Hamzat killed Abacha? by thoth:
GenBuhari: I certainly agree regarding the dubious Nigerian press.

However, you can not say that Al Mustapha should be free from suspicion just because his motives are not apparent?

People's motives are not always in the open for all to see.

Nobody knows whether or not he was offered stupendous wealth to kill Abacha. Greed and greed alone may have been his motive.
Truly motives are usually hidden moreso one which turns out to be stupid or give negative results, but if we are to be civil(which i believe we are) our suspicion alone would not lead to conviction for we might be wrong or biased in our judgments, we could even be influenced by factors which does not relate to the matter adding to the fact that such as this situation the majority might not share that suspicion with you.
Anyway i suspect you killed Abacha and Mustapha has evidence to that and you are now fighting for his conviction in order to seal all the loose ends hehehehe just pray people don't take my suspicion seriously.
PoliticsRe: Al Mustapha Hamzat killed Abacha? by thoth:
Nigeria can boast of having the most dubious press ever there was, as i was about to raise concerns to few bits and pieces of the article then this section
After the death of Abacha so much happened within three days and the country was without a President or Vice President.
and i was left wondering what Three Days he was talking about. The successor was chosen in the SMC convention the morning the president died not three days later.
I doubt the Vanguard newspaper actually Interviewed the gentleman at all.
However, as much as i would like to subscribe to your conclusions i still find the lack of evidence and my inability to build a motive for Mustapha to kill his boss more convincing to have a different conclusion.
PoliticsRe: Al Mustapha Hamzat killed Abacha? by thoth: 5:57pm On Jul 14, 2012
I still can't see where he clearly mentioned that he killed Abacha, he only claimed to have evidence that might implicate SOMEONE on the death of Abacha.
There are certain elements in the article's composition which tempts me to believe that it might be fabricated(by vanguard) to serve a certain interest therefore should be dismissed as a mere political fabrication and lacks credibility enough to be cited in this debate but lets keep the debate in line for the moment.

Gen. Abacha was very very very bad leader.
May we know how you arrived at such conclusion ?
PoliticsRe: Al Mustapha Hamzat killed Abacha? by thoth: 8:15am On Jul 13, 2012
GenBuhari: Let us keep it simple and look at indisputable facts:

Al Mustapha admitted he was the person with Abacha as he took his last breaths

Abacha died under Al Mustapha's watch
Only a mad and homeless man dies alone. Abacha has a family and a CIO. Mustapha being with him at his death bed does not necessary mean he killed abacha,if he weren't there someone will and it still does not make that person the killer. It would have been quite suspicious in my opinion if he learnt of the condition of his subject and distanced himself. Put simply his presence can simply and rightly explained as he performing his duty.

GenBuhari: Al Mustapha revealed in one of his recent statements that Abacha and Abiola was meant to have been killed on the same day. Does this statement not implicate him as being part of at least the conspiracy to murder Abacha?
Using common logic if he had made such a statement the next question any sane person would ask him is "By WHO ?" and supposedly he made such statements he should have given the answers (or sources)and then this debate would not have existed. Adding to that i can not recall in any of his interviews when he made that proclaimation.

GenBuhari: Al Mustapha stated that he had invited all other officers before Useni (who was closest to Abacha in the regime) and Useni also confirmed this.
The order of invitations does not mean anything in this situation since the full members of the SMC was seated together before the meeting commenced and therefore military procedures still applies.

GenBuhari: Al Mustapha seemed to offer to alternative ways Abacha may have been killed (Is this to divert attention from himself):
He implied that Abacha became unwell almost immediately after one of Yasser Arafat's Security Officers shook his hand.
He also tried to suggest Useni may have killed Abacha , which was his justification for not calling Useni before others (very unconvincining excuse in my opinion).
If the first scene of Abacha becoming unwell after shaking the hands of the palestinian SO was offered then i believe it is impossible to build a second scene involving Useni on top of that. Would he say the palestinian was sent by Useni ? Or Would he say that Useni disguised himself as a palestinian ? Both of these claims(allegations)would have been ridiculous and promptly dismissed as fallacious.

GenBuhari: It is generally agreed that after Abacha died somehow IBB was running things from behind the scenes although Abdulsalami Abubakar was the figure head transitional leader.

Abdulsalami almost immediately started unjustly and maliciously accusing Abacha of corruption and looting - strange for somebody who was at the top of Abacha's government for several years. Smelt like IBB handywork to me.
On this i quite agree with you albeit considering IBB a proxy for western interests(he had always been) and we all know why the west wants democracy for nigeria since it is the only form of goverment that can be manipulated easily with money and in which the masses can be virtually alienated from their own government. Abdul's actions were questionable and his quick transfer of power reeks of Conspiracy. In as much as i believe that IBB influenced the outcome of later events(after SMC declarations) i still fail to find a credible link to Al Mustapha in this whole web of conspiracies.
PoliticsRe: Al Mustapha Hamzat killed Abacha? by thoth: 8:19pm On Jul 12, 2012
I stated in my post that in all the printed sources i had sifted through non confirms that IBB was invited to the meeting of the Supreme Military Council on that faithful morning.
You should also have in mind that there are two meetings going on at the same time that morning and the one of the SMC ultimately determines the succesor of the regime.
I do have a list of people at the SMC meeting and IBB was not among nor do i see any reason why he should.
If you do have any other credible source that states or proves via IBB was at the convention we would be happy to have a look at it.
You should keep these facts in mind:
The SMC convention was held in the morning Abacha died.
There were two meetings going on at the same time.
The SMC decided who is to succeed Abacha that morning.
PoliticsRe: Al Mustapha Hamzat killed Abacha? by thoth: 7:34am On Jul 12, 2012
I clearly stated that all senior non retired military officers would be called to convene in such situations and that is not an invitation it is just procedural and expected of any military setup. From all printed sources there is no indication or statement that shows that IBB was among the Supreme Ruling Council so therefore i highly doubt that he was in the meeting that was had the morning Abacha died. ABDUL was a member of the council so he MUST be invited and his relations(existent or speculated) with IBB can not be a determinant factor ,that is just strict military code. Unless IBB was declared before Abacha's death as an enemy of the state and investigations linked Adul with the death prior to the convention then there would be room to arrest him which would be the only reason he would not be present at the convention in compliance(again) to military procedures.
Military idiosyncrasies aside we should ask ourselves why would Abacha keep Abdul among the Supreme Council if he suspects him to be linked to IBB ?
From your own statements Abacha sacked or retired most IBB goons , what sort of ignorance or arrogance would make him leave a COUSIN(unconfirmed) whose loyalty is questionable within the Council ?

To answer your question, since i think Mustapha did not make any special invitation or dealings with the duo you mentioned we can ignore what he would have thought if he did.
PoliticsRe: Al Mustapha Hamzat killed Abacha? by thoth: 10:56pm On Jul 11, 2012
GenBuhari: I beg to disagree.

Al Mustapha, betrayed Abacha for the simple fact that he handed power to IBB, when he could have protected Abacha's legacy.

You also never addressed the point that he did not inform Abacha's closest friend in the regime - Jeremiah Useni. This is the strongest evidence that he must have made a deal with Babangida.

What did he get out of the deal? He got double-crossed and is going to get hanged. IBB is a snake.
You have to understand that in the military, police or any specialized organisation friendly relations(friends, relatives, inlaws and even brothers) has little or no relevance in making professional decisions, though such notions could be hard for a layman to understand till he finds himself in same situation Mustapha acted professionally in the context he found himself. Honestly decisions made out of sentiments and ties would be interpreted differently by a military man to a civilian as there are established procedures of conduct, you should also understand that IBB is neither the most senior officer nor the only officer and Mustapha is only a major though the chief security officer of the late president he has no more power than that afforded by his post and more less power since the leader is late. Doing anything else apart from what he has done would not only provoke IBB but other senior officers as well and you as the man on the street does not know where their loyalties lie. I guess a better understanding of how the military works and its emphasis on discipline and also its difference with the civilian outlook on power and state would help to make this picture much clearer.
Just ask yourself this question, Useni was the most senior officer and rightly the next in line he was at the convention where Abdul was choosen, does he not have a voice of his own or is he dumb ? Or did it mean that the other officers choose not to respect his rank ? That shows that there is much to the story than meets the eye.
Now my direct questions to you are
1: How exactly did Mustapha hand power to IBB,what moves of his convinced you ?
2: How could he have protected Abacha's legacy ?
3: In that context what can we define as the "Legacy" to be protected ?

I am not convinced in any way that Al Mustapha is totally innocent of Abacha's death rather am stressing on the lack of Motives to arrive on such a conclusion.

honeric01: You were communicating with me until your last paragraph, check my past comments on this forum and see if that paragraph should be attributed to me. I have always known the media (Nigeria) an extension of western media, they get 90% of their foreign news from BBC and CNN (plus Al jezzera abi wetin dem dey call them), they decide who's good and who's bad, which president is democratic and which is a tyrant, who's corrupt and who's a saint, they WERE even the ones who gave boko haram that name and the Nigerian media just took up from there.

I know the so called "boko haram" is more than 25 groups, how then would you label different groups under one name? knowing your enemies by name and identity gives you room to tackle them one on one.. someone who has body pains, headache, fever and other ailment shouldn't be diagnosed and then be told he or she is sick and then ignoring all these illnesses. This is what the western media did to Nigeria and this is why we can't fight boko haram, they claim they are faceless, yet they are operating.. the western media successfully brainwashed most Nigerians with the help of the Nigerian media into accepting this general name, giving room for other groups/wicked individuals to carry out attacks on their "enemies", then label them boko haram attacks.

Blacks are in deep shitt if they continue waiting for the western world to validate things for us before we accept them.
I don't mean you in particular ,keep in mind i am addressing an audience here.
The problem with all you said so far is that the masses believes them so much and our own news media regurgitates it over and over that the people clearly does not have the privilage of alternative views. Check out how the libyan extremist progressed from Rioters->goverment Opposition movements -> Rebels -> Freedom Fighters -> National Transition Council and our people swallowed it as each stage progresses.
One thing i believe is that once you jarred somebody out of that gridlock of ignorance it is hard for him to fall back in it. So just do as much you can and educate the few that would listen to you.
PoliticsRe: Al Mustapha Hamzat killed Abacha? by thoth: 11:10am On Jul 11, 2012
Though it is evident that Al Mustapha knows a large part of the truth concerning the death of Abacha i doubt he has a hand in killing him, he is too intelligent to be used for that. Clearly there is no motives for doing that. Being Abacha's chief security officer he must have implicated himself with a number of "assignments" and knowing fully well that he is not the only one aware of how the state works he understands the consequences of Abacha's absence and so would not wish for that.
It is widely accepted as a security precautionary measure to quickly reshuffle forces or security staff when their is a power vacuum in order to disorganise any reactionary elements and it also scatters any pre-arranged dissent group and prevents them from acting as a unit and making command and instructions difficult for the enemy officer in charge. So this is a widely practiced security measure.
If the information that Mustapha first invited IBB before others is true then he may have gotten wind of the setup and tried to ally himself with the next most likely powerful figure left(knowing fully well that the west is behind the plot and backing IBB at the same time) as a form of self preservatory moves. Though i highly doubt the information above i see no reason why as part of the military top ranks that IBB(if he has not retired) would not be invited as that as well is a clearly a military procedure.
We all should try to understand that Abdusalami as a choice has very little to do with the convened military men and much to do with external influence. Anybody that was choosen would likely do the same thing he did which is dumping nigeria into western styled democratic lagoon.
If Al Mustapha actually did it or complied with the plan what has he gained so far from doing it ? as we all know that all the figures that wants Abacha dead had gained a lot since then.

honeric01: But can they be countered? who can face the Nigerian media over these lies?
A developed black nation is a threat to those whose interest lies in exploiting africa and Abacha by the effect of his pro nigerian policies is a threat to the real enemies of nigeria.
Most of our media is directly owned or by proxy by these imperialist nations. The media is a strong instrument for propaganda and these foreign parasites knew that quite well so you now check on who owns the biggest news and radio media via attacked abacha during his regime. Who owns the Sun newspaper and what about his boasted links to the CIA . Do you think the CIA got him in their payroll because he is handsome ? No my brother, they acquired him(he is an asset) because his newspaper would be used to influence peoples opinion and therefore keep them blind and in line.
I read an ARIS report last two weeks that stated how NTA's only foreign news centers on Syria and nothing else and how they are in compliance with the western anti- Assad rhetorics.
Counter them by educating yourself and then educating others. Don't let hate, emotion or tribalism cloud your judgments because that is what any disinformation campaign relies on the succeed and where there is lack of those they try to create it first.

I made enquiries and i found out that the Abacha truly owns a modest house, i am still waiting for replies for people who are closer to the son. This is the most startling information i have had on this man.
What is most confusing is how people still choose to accept and believe those allegations heaped on Abacha considering the amount of visual facts on the ground.

I told them this would happen but nobody would listen. The US has moved on to the second stage. Now is the time to perpetuate it,blow it out of proportion, put it in the limelight. Then start repeating it to their people until their people internalized that nigeria is a terrorist infested country and a threat to the USA and that would make it more acceptable when they want to deal with the threat with force(which is the ultimate goal here) .
Remember as i said in another thread, the main deterrent of these imperialist nations is our large number which makes it unreasonable to use a military solution. Once they can get us into pieces they would take us one after another.

Nigeria is really far from any form of liberation. The ignorance of the masses and the extent that such ignorance and arrogance has been glamourized tell a lot that we are playing the loosing hand. Just look at the two posts below.

ypzilanti: For a journalist, the author is a really boring writer. Check out the articles in the Economist and forbes...even the back page of Thisday newspaper. Commercial writing is a craft and a talent. Journalists need to be paid more in Nigeria to attract the best hands.
In the face of such an important information, one which its truth or falsity matters a lot to the future and its composites affecting our future judgements on such matters, all that this poster sees is the writing style of the author and that he chooses to criticize and from that he makes his validation against the information the writer is trying to convey. I have only witnesed such stupidity and arrogance in the dumbest of americans.
honeric01: Too long.
One of the most horrifying display of Nigerianess, they can't read anything more than a page and with all the one liner pills they always swallow from foreign media would insist on arguing with you on matters which due to there profound laziness and arrogance they have not done any enquiries on. Is it not suprising that with that single "too long" he has dismissed the whole article as not worth looking at , and more suprising is the phenomena that lacking the time(or intelligence) to read the post he surely does have the time to tell us that the post is "TOO LONG"
These two posters one who believes the intent of this thread is a criticism on writing styles and the other who chooses to gives us an important information on a post that he has not read constitutes a large number of Nigerians.

I sincerely believe Yassar Arafat knew a lot about Abacha's death. The guy sold out a lot of people with the promise of assistance from many superpowers and ALL at the end ignored him. They would ask him a carry out a task in return for a favour then at the end they would just ignore him and ofcourse he had no way of getting them to fulfil their end of the bargain. He lost a lot of true friends that way and generally isolated himself.

This would only increase the crime rate in Enugu. If the senate had any literate person, they would have known that. but they are all biggots rigged in.

God, I beginning to believe that there is actually a curse on Nigeria.
it seems all the politicians were cooperating in this operation "KILL NIGERIA" there were okadas in beijine and Qingdao when i was living there.
BusinessRe: Will Walmart's Coming End Igbo Business In Nigeria? by thoth: 7:32am On Jul 04, 2012
If walmart comes to nigeria then the Igbos and the middle class are finished. Reasons are :
If we look at the operations of other multinationals you will come to understand that they exploit the corrupt nature of our leaders and gets a better edge over the local companies. Walmart understands this and have experience in this kind of maneuverings. They would come to enjoy benefits which is not afforded to the common nigerian businessmen like tax exemptions, certain import waivers and protection from the goverment when they start some predatetory business practices. We should also keep in mind that the Nigerian goverment has never and will not in the near future seek to protect the interest of its citizens whom he has undoubtedly alienated himself from and therefore lost touch with. The goverment from previous actions and contemporary ones favours and would continue to dance to the tune of the foreign multinationals when prodded by the west. A good example will be the new private power producers who are getting ready to squeeze blood out of nigerians, when nigerian companies have no encouragement from our own government the foreign IPPs gets billions of our own dollars, gets tax exempt and gets the goverment to hike the electricity tariff on the poor masses seeking to further impoverish them and put the local business to its end. How does all those actions define foreign investment for us ? In that same line Walmart will play along we will be suprised when new laws that will disenfranchise the igbos and favor the super stores gets into play. The goverment can always count on two things -
1: the middle class would not be able to analyse and interpret the effects of the new laws and will the see the coming dangers so will make no trouble as this has always been the case of many african nations including nigeria.
2: there is very little the masses can do since they have no representatives and can easily be dispersed as a large number who were not in trading would feel unconcerned therefore leaving only the traders to "make noise" and not knowing the cost gets passed unto them.(another case of african ignorance)
3: there has been many times where certain where certain privilages were afforded to foreign companies in discreetion without the knowledge of the common man. Laws have been passed without the masses really knowing that nigeria has passed such a legislation and the success of such companies would be interpreted as a result of their business prowess rather than a parasitic exploit of an unaware host.
4: Though this might be a delicate line but it has been observed that any show of displeasure towards the americans devastating exploits is quickly labeled by the western media as ANTI-AMERICANISM rather than what it is which is daylight plundering of the masses and our people unlike the south american has not learnt to hold their grounds once such label has been put on them.

B: i know in a show of igbo pride the igbos would say they would always outsmart them, i myself have witnessed the profound ingenuity of the igbo man and i must confess that it like no other.
However a bit of reality which could be gotten from numbers is seriously needed. The business model of any manufacturing nation is that the more a customer can purchase the lesser the price he gets. Walmart in this regard hold a dangerous advantage to the igboman in that he could make a gigantic purchase of a single commodity for its markets in the four continents comprising of many nations and hundreds if not thousands of outlets, the igbos with their resources can not outbid such an opponent and lacks the organisational structures and the cohesiveness of action to pull resources together. So we can clearly see that their prices would undoubtedly be cheaper than the local market.
The swiftness of their imports, clearing and less problems from the customs whom will be promptly settled would make the odds more demoralising.
I have to leave for lunch but lets all consider the saying which goes "PREVENTION IS BETTER THAN CURE" assuming we can do something now it would save up a lot of headaches and misery in the future.
PoliticsRe: Ibrahim Babangida , a.k.a. IBB - The Evil Architect Of Nigeria's Downfall by thoth: 10:31am On Jul 02, 2012
"Mobutu Seseseko tyrannically ran Congo aground for three [3] decades killing and maiming his countrymen and women with impunity, US did nothing to stop him because he was a CIA agent, servicing and protecting America’s strategic interests"

"According to impeccable source, “CIA was partly to blame for overthrowing Buhari/Idiagbon regime in 1985”. RR learned that Buhari/Idiagbon military regime was too patriotic about everything and anything Nigeria in the “eyes of Americans”. Sources told RR that Buhari/Idigbon regime, “refused and rejected anything foreign interventions, refused to compromise Nigerian national interest to any foreign interests in any form or shape”, not “even to the secret intelligence agencies like CIA, KGB or MASSAD”. RR gathered that “their administration rejected IMF and World Bank” contraptions called Loans, etc” because they believe taking foreign loans automatically mortgages the well-being of unborn children of Nigerian families."

"So Babangida fitted the profile of a strong-man, like Mobutu, the U.S was looking for. It was also this time, in 1983, that Buhari and Idiagbon overthrew Shehu Shagari, who was drifting and didn’t seem to get a handle on how to move Nigeria forward. Buhari/Idiagbon had always been true patriots, and came in to try to save Nigeria. Buhari’s government was very serious about putting Nigeria on a straight path. There was a serious effort to combat indiscipline, drugs and corruption that bedeviled Shagari’s government. Buhari refused to borrow any more money from the IMF and World Bank; refused to devalue the Naira, as demanded by the West. When the West tried to blackmail and sabotage the Nigerian economy at that time, he countered it with the counter-trade policies, which was actually a corruption fighting tool (it was used by Cuba to neutralize years of America’s economic blockade of that island nation). The West knew that Buhari/Idiagbon were hell bent on serving only Nigeria’s interests against any other interests and they weren’t going to have it.
"
"Abacha was never a saint, but most of the demonization against him was orchestrated by America, in a way, to divert attention away from Babangida. Even the so called Abacha loot in Swiss banks could have been Babangida’s, just to use the insignificant amount to blackmail Abacha, and have Nigerians believe that all the looting was done by Abacha. You see, our biggest problem is believing everything the West tells us without questions, not minding that they have always employed the Machiavellian doctrines in their dealings with the rest of the world.

The US actually succeeded in having every Nigerian talking about Abacha’s loot, while Babangida conveniently faded to the background, attending weddings, birthday parties, funerals, etc, everywhere! "

"Most Nigerians, and most of the rest of the world except Western Europe and Israel, are extremely naive about America. As much as being utilitarian, Americans are natural existentialists, driven in all their actions, bad or good, only by self interests. The only thing consistent about Americans as individuals is their unpredictability. For example, an American can ceremoniously and sanctimoniously give you a million dollars today, and tomorrow that same American kills you unceremoniously over five dollars! It saddens me whenever I read about our government officials trooping here to “learn” about the American system. The American government structure is very organized and extremely well structured and managed by very patriotic citizens. But honestly, America does not want the same fine structure for any part of the world outside Western Europe and Israel. America’s prosperity and power are based partly on their ability to manipulate all the developing countries to remain dependent, so that they could easily be used."

"This is something they’ll do everything to avoid. I honestly believe that most of our problems, especially the Niger Delta, could be traced back to LONDON AND WASHINGTON, through their multinational corporations, who corrupt and impose corrupt and inept leaders on us."

I always wonder how it is soo hard for Nigerians to understand these points above. i believe very soon among the posters you will have somebody dismiss it all as a conspiracy theories.

God! Such reaction in the face of truth which determines a man fate, whether he lives or dies and anothers reputation as a patriot who fought and died for his peoples liberation, such a reaction shows me that there is something inherently wrong with africans.

GenBuhari: @ Sagamite,
In fact Abacha was a great African leader, other African countries realised this before many Nigerians did.

Sagamite are you still convinced that Obasanjo is the greatest Nigerian leader?
When you told me that, I never stopped debating with you, I just tried to help you see reason.
After three EMPTY posts i decided to ignore him, i implore you to do the same.
