Thus, the phrase comes from the idea that the person is "dead" and will not die again.

My memory is rusty so this may be less than accurate. But that's the general idea though.

I have been discussing GOT on this thread for several seasons and it is always this way. Everyone with their own ideas of what should have happened. Believe me if it had happened the way that guy narrated, it would have still been great. That's how good the show is.

My wanting Arya to die was just to have a major death. All the people who died were all overdue more or less.

A major death (Arya preferably) would have made it more gripping. Unless she still has an important role to play in the remaining episodes, she should have died killing the Night king.
