I have finally gotten used to this new platform greatly. I've been sort of busy with other things this week, but I've still managed to transcribe 390 minutes so far. 10 more minutes to get to the 400 minute mark. But I'm not willing to do it. Feeling tired already.

Most prolific week for me. 30 calls, 23 5s, 5 4s and 2 3s.

Prenom should hit the 500 minute mark this week.

I'm actually grateful for the steady workflow and clear audio available on QA world even if the pay is small and the rating is strict as hell. I used to make way more on Gotranscript with less effort but good audio quality wasn't that easy to come by and jobs have been reduced to a bare minimum plus only the alphas (those with 5 star ratings) have access to them first, so before anything got to you, the clear audio was cleared. There's more room for trials and errors here, perfect for beginners. All in all, Qa world isn't the best but it certainly isn't the worst or that bad for that matter. Just thought someone needed to know this. That being said, I used my 5 releases today and I got em right back, wassup with that? I've finished it again sha. Lemme goan find som'n else to do. Shalom

Releases and flags are repleted at 7pm Nigerian time. If you use all your Releases by 6:45pm, it will be repleted by 7pm.

I want to share this insight.

If it so happens that you get a redo and you weren't aware until the 90 minutes redo time elapses, there's still a way you can work on that redo provided on one has claimed the call. It's has to do with luck though.

Go to you email and click on the begin transcribing button. If that call hasn't been claimed, you'll be able to work on it even if the allowable redo time has expired.

I got a redo mail in the early hours of this morning about past 1am. I didn't know until past 4 am. That was more than 3 hours later. The hyperlink to work on the redo on my dashboard was clearly gone. I opened my email and clicked the start transcribing button and I was redirected to the call. Corrected my mistake (I forgot to delete the auto AI transcript on the initial transcript submitted) and submitted it. It got rated few minutes later.

I guess I was lucky, but you can try it out too.

I used an email that isn't connected to any PayPal account yet as my payment email. I'm seeing that my last week's payment has been paid but I didn't get any mail from PayPal. How do you hope to get a mail from PayPal when the email isn't linked to any PayPal account? I like your optimism. It was stated clearly that you need a PayPal account before beginning to work.

Well, create one now and link it to the email you're using for payment information. Then, reach out to the SCCs about your situation.

I use UAE. Works as well. But your first 2 withdrawals might be delayed for 72 hours after you withdraw.

It's been six days since I worked on a Fonding Cycle call. I finished one now and my head aches already.

Huge mistake he made. He could have withdrawn way earlier. Probably after 2 to 3 weeks just to test the waters. I withdrew my funds two weeks after joining to make sure I could withdraw not because I needed the money.

Are you sure you don't have redos that accumulate to make your minutes up to that number?
I once transcribed 340+ minutes in a week but my actual minutes for the week was 310+. The extra 30+ minutes was from redos

Remember the new user interface is still in Beta form so there is still room for improvement. Allen said all our concerns will be addressed before they roll out the new transcription page to all their users. I believe what made them to initiate a new transcription page is to accommodate mobile users which makeup about 50% of their total transcribers.

By the way, how were you able to make all the function keys on your hacker's keyboard appear at the main keyboard layout. Mine doesn't appear on the main layout. I have to click fn to see them. I've gone through the settings but can't find a way to do it

Mobile what? Lol.. This new interface is a Mobile phone users nightmare

And AI transcript on this, is a waste. Because it's not segmented. You have everything all Hodgepodged together.

The cons on this new interface overweighs the pros for me.

The only pros I can see is that, making an inverted speaker error is almost now impossible. And, for those using mobile phones, you don't have to worry about the difficulty when your transcript is is obstructed by the tabs on the right hand side while typing.

The Cons?

1. Now, you have to always click pause and play every time. Back when there were timestamps, one could just play an entire short timestamp and not worry about pausing the audio because it will stop at the end of the timestamp.

2. When I'm transcribing and I encounter inaudibles, I don't waste time on them. I label them with the inaudible symbol and come back to them once I'm done with the entire transcription. Before, all I had to do is click on the timestamp that has an inaudible and the audio will begin to play. But, now, I have to start rewinding or fast forwarding the audio to the exact point of the inaudible just so I can listen to it again... HECTIC.

3. The biggest con for me is this. I use a mobile phone. So, what this means in this new interface is that I have to always scroll down to the bottom anytime I want to pause, play, forward or rewind the audio. Imagine having to always scroll down countless number of times to do this. And then, you scroll back up again to type. FRUSTRATING.. I spent 4 hours on a call I typically only spend 2 hours on.


I'm not thrilled about this new interface at all. Even more so because the supposed pros weren't really an issue for me before.

And how are your ratings from those calls?

Mixed. Lots of 4s, 5s and 3s. Few 1s and 2s sometimes. But nothing that can't be corrected with the redo courtesy. I don't pay too much attention to my ratings except on one occasion when I was edging close to a 3.3. That's when I made sure not go pick a Fonding Cycle call to get a better chance to boost up my ratings

I don't know if I'm the only one but I can't find good calls for the past few days. Most of the calls available have bad accent going by the time allotted.

And is there anyone here who has the beta transcription page? I'm just curious to know how it works.

From making like $8-$10 in a day to making nothing in the past few days. I'm just tired.

Start getting used to those tough calls because they are QA World's biggest clients. Working on them also make you better. I don't like Fonding Cycle UK calls but it makes up about 50 percent of all the calls I've transcribed for QA.

I just transcribed the most comical call I've ever come across on QA. A Sonron call.

The Rep called a customer but they couldn't converse clearly due to interference and static noises from the customer's phone signal. Apparently the the customer's newly purchased phone was having issues. He(the customer) knew this and was on his way to the store he bought it when the call from the Sonron Rep came in.

The Rep, on realizing they can't converse clearly repeatedly (10 times. Yeah, I counted it) told the customer he's going to call him back at a later time. But the customer refused to listen. He kept narrating how he just bought the phone the previous day, and has been struggling to receive calls clearly on it.

He insisted that the Rep hung on till he got to the store. He got to store, approached a sales person. The sales guy told him it's because his phone's storage is almost full. He was surprised and claimed that that's not possible because, although, he took lots of pictures with the phone, he deleted all of them.

All these was happening while the Rep could hear them.
Then, the following happened

Sales guy: Go to recently deleted folder and delete them.

Customer: When you delete the pictures, you have to go to recently deleted folder and delete them again?

Sales guy: Yes. You have to delete it twice.

Customer: Why the f##k would you have to do that? Whose idea was that?

There were other things that made the conversation hilarious though. Never had so much laugh through a a transcription process

Because I mean, that's more like an orientation period.
