Webman007:And is this not the result of that budget, or you are also stuck in the mud? |
greenek:Hahahahaha! You are another one of them doubting Thomases. A certain dude got a job with an oil major. His pay package as a trainee to be further sent to France on training was over N30m/annum. He is back in Nigeria working deep offshore with just HND, yet you are still doubting with B.Sc? How much do you think NLNG pays its technicians who work with just HND? Never limit yourself to your own habitat. |
Ebuka2016:If only you had sparred the 1minute to google hiw much some websites and web portals cost, you would not have embarrassed yourself so. |
anonimi:Taxes are deducted from source. Some months I spend close to N200k on tax. Charity is largely who I know, as there are enough family and friends to prevent Charity from not beginning at home. |
ojlifa:They are trying to say she does not deserve the role in UN. Anything liberals and activists hold dear, must be held dear by everyone else. |
Nbote:Dude are you now saying the website will not solve those issues highlighted from the news report? Or was that not you enquiry - to know what issues the portal will solve? Or those issues are not significant enough? To improve the service rendered to the investors in that industry and to improve means of income generation and accountability. Those issues are irrelevant? |
The biggest job scam in Nigeria is a promised job at Shell. The oldest trick that still works so efficiently. |
martinsfm:Bros you wicked ooo. That one for be clean up job for some boys. Double Take! Freddy Tiffany! Hahahahaha! |
He who walks the crooked path is certain to falter. |
Nbote:I afforded you something deeper, yet free, but a simple man just wants his wooden chair rather than a forest of mahogany. So let me stoop to your level of comprehension and give you something simple that was already in the news report you refused to see. The portal was designed for mining investors to perform business processes such as online mining licences and mineral titles applications, online payment of royalties and fees, database for revenue drive and to block revenue leakages.Guess what? I just received an email from Accenture, notifying me of some task for which my response has become due. I wonder how many millions of Dollars my firm pay them to manage just some aspects of our database and ICT resource? I reckon we could have found a cheaper alternative from Bayo for just a couple of millions in Naira? My firm must be very wasteful. |
ivandragon:I repeat, you are stuck in the mud. |
Nbote:Dude, Fayemi and his ministry made a mistake. They should have let things be as they met it. They shouldn't have bothered with a budget that went beyond just paying salaries of redundant ministry civil servants. You want growth but castigate money expended to modernise an income generating ministry? Nobody will beg Union bank to spend the money they refused to spend when the likes of Zenith and GTB were investing in ICT. It is Union bank that will perish or wake up after the party has ended like they have now. As for the aimless board members who had no vision when the likes of GTB and Zenith were "wasting money on ICT", what is the value of their Union bank shares now? |
And this is for Fayemi and his ministry. Spend whatever is necessary and available to spend to make your ministry viable. The same critics are the ones who will claim 4yrs later that you did not do anything to turn around the fortunes of the ministry. Don't listen to irrelevant and distracting noise. You are the one in charge, as such you will be blamed for failure, and not those criticising you. It is the duty of a layman to criticise like an illiterate that he is. It is the duty of the insider to make things work even when those required actions will be criticised by the mob that are never imbued with any objectivity. The same people who go out to places where things work, will come back to castigate and lament that things are not working in Nigeria. Yet they are never ready to pay the price required for things to work. If government releases the budget to maintain the airports, they complain. But when they transit through the airport, they also complain about the failure of government in Nigeria and how airports are managed by other governments. They have no idea what was expended to provide that comfortable and wonderful airport where things are done so efficiently. Attempt to sack inefficient staff and watch same Nigerians complain that the government is wicked. Fayemi, do your best and disregard noise for what it is. |
Nbote:The portal is for fun. It is to stream you tube videos. Are you happy now? Did you read the content of the news at all or you are another aimless critic on the prowl? |
ivandragon:An aimless critic like you would still have found fault if it was a N5m portal. You would have claimed Bayo also builds website for N500K. People like you are stuck in the mud till the high tide overcome you. You belong to the Huawei and CCECC mentality. Some of us belong to the Ericsson and Cappa & D'Alberto mentality. So when matters like these are discussed, it is no surprise what side of the divide we align with. |
Nbote:The purpose of the website is to address some of the problems that has made that ministry moribund. There was once a story about Philip Emeagwali approaching the Abacha government in the 1990's, for an investment of $5b to develop ICT as a viable sector of the Nigerian economy. The funds were not granted because we were ignorant and also found the sum outrageous. If such funds could have made Nigeria like India or Singapore or Malaysia or Hong Kong as regards ICT, do you think such funds would not have been money well spent at that time? In retrospect, was it not a foolish decision not seeing the perspective of Emeagwali? |
It seems a lot of Nigerians are frustrated beyond objectivity. Trying to argue logically with them can only project one as elitist or lacking in empathy. I leave you all to your cross. |
BeeBeeOoh:You remind me of a dude who I schooled with and served NYSC with. While discussing our career plans as engineers and what potential jobs were available for fresh graduates like us, I told him assertively that I couldn't settle for a job pay less than N500k/month. He looked at me with such disgust, wondering why a fresh graduate should feel so entitled to such pay he found outrageous. He contended that N100k/month was good enough. Less than a year after service, he got his own N100k/month job while I got myself a N1m/month type of job. I still wasn't contented and aspired for something better, while my pal is still today aspiring towards a pay windfall of N500k/month. This same category of people wonder why I would spend N45K on a Lacoste polo shirt or N60k on a Tommy Hilfiger jeans. When you can buy same at Balogun market in Isale Eko for less than N5k each. The above true story is the mentality in display when people wonder why one website is N2m and another is N500m or more. Lack of exposure! |
ivandragon:And for Ibe, due process was to be through him as Chairman of NNPC board? And NNPC has come out with enough facts to show that the NNPC tenders board, Minister or Petroleum and FEC are all that was required to constitute Due Process as it is currently existing. Ibe Kachikwu is not the minister of petroluem but junior minister, while Buhari is the minister. Ibe Kachikwu is not the head of the NNPC tenders board but head of NNPC board. Ibe Kachikwu was present in the FEC meetings as a junior minister when these contracts were presented. So what else do you have to say? Ibe Kachikwu has also come out to clarify matters for unrepentant and aimless critics like yourself, that he did not allege that money was missing or that the contracts did not truly exist. Him and Baru have since moved on over their misunderstanding, with both sides of the debate agreeing to differ. While sane observers like us have urged Buhari to surrender the full minister portfolio to Ibe Kachikwu to prevent such re-occurence of allegations of breech in due processes and possible loopholes that Kachikwu has identified in the current process which still remains legal. As for the website, even the reports already mentioned that experts are required to manage it. So you should already know it is yet to be operational. It is there already for you to understand without the need of your tasteless and aimless attempt to mockery. |
clevadani:Maybe you should have tendered a bid for the project if it was in your capacity to offer a cheaper deliverable. |
Nbote:I do not see any problem with spending money to develop another revenue generating sector of our economy. Must we always criticise every money spent, even when spent appropriately and to generate more income? I have already highlighted the need for trained experts that the ministry has already alluded to. |
ivandragon:You are still not tired of this your imagined $25b that is missing at NNPC ? Yet when asked to mention any stakeholder who claimed such funds are missing, or that ghost contracts were awarded, you suddenly go dumb? The case of contracts erroneously totalled to the sum of $25b, has already been addressed by NNPC over the charge of not following due process. A due process they have maintained did not require the approval of the stakeholder who made the charge, but who never alleged that money was missing or that the contracts were phantom and did not exist. You do not always have to be a blind critic of government. Criticize as if you have a brain for Christ sake. |
ivandragon:And you have come out in all your shame. A switch already damaged in the default position of blind criticism. Too many illiterates online. |
ivandragon:Illiterates should only speak on basic topics that can be argued at a beer parlour. Spending $2m on a portal depending on what the complexities of it are and what level of integrated database is required, is not a child's play. The ministry has itself revealed this information freely to the public, to prevent the likes of you from making a mockery of serious business initiatives as some scandal that has been exposed. |
Another avenue for ICT illiterates to castigate what they do not know about. So the equivalent of $2m was spent on an integrated portal? Should I head into the streets to protest that it should have been procured for N200k ? Mohammed Abbas, Permanent Secretary of the ministry, sought the support of the Ministry of Communication to assist with experts that would manage the portal effectively.Above is the only snag there. Are there enough competent people to manage such complex IT solutions or will extra funds be spent to procure the services of the likes of Accenture to manage it on their behalf? |
sarrki:Did you read the news at all? Is it global activists that will decide for Nigeria what to do with our natural resources or how we best exploit it with a view to maintaining income from international contracts already agreed to? Mohammed said her action was part of a complicated, though legal, balancing act aimed at ensuring Nigeria's threatened forests were being harvested sustainably while also honoring contracts with Chinese rosewood importers and protecting the livelihoods of a growing number of Nigerians who depend on the timber trade. |
Shior! So this is what you call corruption? Let the outraged activists jump off the empire state building to protest their disapproval. |
His namesake, Femi. |
His namesake, Femi |
NwaAmaikpe:The reference you made in bold is the same reason why Nigeria continues to deal with anyone with Biafran flags and currency and other paraphernalia. Just like the defeated confederates of the USA civil war, they are the artefacts of the defeated rebel forces or illegal government that should be erased. As regards Murtala Mohammed, he was the first Nigerian ruler to show any active zeal to reform the country. That you know him for any evil, is his own reaction to the hatred sowed in him as a reaction of the Igbo coup and Igbo gloating in the North, of the assassination of top Northerners, in the aftermath of that coup. He took that hatred with him to the war, and unfortunately, the victors decide who the heroes are, not the vanquished. A truth you have equally referenced going by the actions of the Americans in the text in bold. |
He's about to use his right hand to unzip her jeans trouser. Lol! |
Good response by the Kaduna State Government. |
