mazimee:It has already been addressed that the dude is not Maina. That's an honourable in the house of reps, Doguwa or so. |
Pavore9:We need to put down the monster we put in power. |
Sad! Buhari has finally unravelled himself as an enabler and participant of corruption. The Buhari brand is finished. Nobody regards his anti-corruption fight as anything beyond a mockery. Even those who have been accused, laugh in our faces and ask, knowing what they are privy to know about Buhari, that "who is the presidency?" I could have taken a bullet for this disgraced hypocrite, in a bid to ensure he remains to offer hope for Nigeria. I would have only wasted my life to prolong that of a vagabond. Now I know it was all a ruse, a hoax, a facade. No one in this world is beyond falling to deception. I am a victim, but I will certainly facilitate the end of this ruse. |
gidgiddy:Simple set of questions since you refuse to be educated. The East Timor you referenced, what led to their demand for a separation from Indonesia? Were they not a country of their own right who having forcefully secured their independence from Portugal, were then illegally annexed 9 days later by Indonesia who were supported by the US, UK and Australia? Did the UN ever recognise Indonesia's ownership or control of East Timor when the illegal annexation occurred in 1976? Did UN not continue to recognise East Timor as a non-self governing territory under Portuguese administration? Was East Timor a member state of Indonesia from the onset, and was the Indonesian rule over East Timor ever regarded as anything other than an occupation? Did East Timor have any democratic and recognised representation of their people within Indonesia like the SouthEast have in Nigeria or did Indonesia impose one on them? Bringing your argument back to Nigeria, Was the SouthEast region not party to the constitutional debates that resulted to the establishment of an independent Nigeria? Did Nigeria exist independent of the current SouthEast, which Nigeria then later annexed illegally with UN disapproval that still recognised the SouthEast as a territory being occupied by Nigeria? I am happy you have finally moved from your invalid Scotland and Catalonia references, but your attempt to settle for East Timor which was a region illegally annexed by Indonesia, suggest that you need to continue your search for a suitable reference to justify why IPOB should be regarded as anything but clowns trying to usurp the existing democratic and constitutional leadership of the SouthEast - a member region of Nigeria since inception. |
kikake:So are you saying that Catalonia is now going against a constitution it helped to create? I repeat, if you have any demand, channel it through your constitutional and democratic representatives and regional government. If you are scared of your own regional leadership, then do you expect to be listened to by the center? Stop this unhealthy delusions. |
seunmsg:Obasanjo and Yar Adua never waited this long to sack anyone with concrete evidence of crime or corruption. Obasanjo never wasted time with Chief Sunday Afolabi of the Ministry of Interior and Akwanga, over the Sagem National ID scam. He never wasted time sacking Prof. Fabian Osuji of the Ministry of Education, over the bribe for budget scandal that deposed Senate President Adolphus Wabara. Obasanjo never waited this long to sack IGP Tafa Balogun, when the EFCC indicted him of corruption and theft, eventually leading to his trial and conviction. All the above men were sacked less than 4 days after their crimes were exposed with concrete evidence that did not require any presidential committee or panel to investigate. Yar Adua did not require any panel to realise that Prof Adenike Grange had flouted presidential directive in not providing any funds to the legislative standing committee having oversight of the ministry of health. When the allegations of bribe for budget approval came up, he sacked her within weeks of it, and the esteemed globally renowned paediatrician was bundled to the court. He did not need a panel's report to sack a whole Chief Bode George from NPA, and have him prosecuted and convicted. Only Jonathan started this charade of presidential panels to do a prior investigation of accusations, then hold on to the report till the end of his tenure, like Stella Oduah that was only shuffled out of office about a year after her indictment by both the Reps committee and presidential panel. She was also gifted the party's senate ticket to show she was only shuffled out of office and not sacked based on a crime. Our pretentious messiah Buhari, never did anything about the SGF scandal until the NIA dollars scandal occurred months later. The Osinbajo panel has since submitted its report months ago, still Buhari is still dragging his feet. Buhari has failed all those who thought he cared about fighting corruption. Don't waste any further time to come to an obvious conclusion. |
blackbeau1:Indeed the federal government over the years have failed in their responsibilities, also the state governments. We cannot be debating over a separation when no recognised entity has requested for such. When IPOB is tired of being irrelevant, it will embrace the democratic path to their claims to regional leadership and representation. Only then can Nigeria begin to consider what is being demanded, by who, and on whose behalf. |
emi14:My very simple question. Has the SouthEast leadership asked to be separated from Nigeria, just like the Scots, Catalans and Kurds have done? I mean leadership even as low as the local government level? I cannot be debating a matter that is yet to exist. |
gidgiddy:You reason like an anarchist who continues to wonder why the democratic and civilised world is not interested in your barbarism. A people already have democratic representation. Is that too hard to percolate through your stubborn head into you brain? Do you expect a democratic world or democratic UN or AU or EU or US or UK or Russia, to have any regard for a usurper group that is appealing to democratic graces to defeat an already democratic sovereignty? That there is democratic representation means there already exist the concept of self determination. If Nigeria was not practising democratic government, any group can begin to advocate for the people. As long as there is an inclusive democracy in practise and there is democratic representation already existing, any other group claiming to speak on behalf of the people are just making noise and must be put down and decimated. Why exactly is IPOB so insistent that only they will be rogues when Scotland and Catalonia and Kurdish Iraq demands are being championed by the recognised leadership of the people in question? Are you then surprised that only IPOB has been described as a terrorist group that is threatening the public peace and established democracy within their own society? When IPOB or other secessionist are tired of fooling around aimlessly, they will follow the democratic path to recognised leadership of their people then as a government, push for whatever they want to achieve, with either a positive or negative outcome. Stop being a hypocrite and reason like you have a brain for goodness sake. |
Yyeske:That is the very reason they are a terrorist group, and their members and sympathizers must be hunted down. |
Yyeske:Very sane question that IPOB cannot answer. I reckon in their minds, IPOB must force their will on everyone, and must be recognised as a regional government of the people. That is a terrorist group in the mould of Boko haram and ISIS who not only wage terror on sovereign nations, but seek to carve out a region for themselves where everyone must bow to their compulsory leadership. |
waternogetememy:I repeat, who has asked for a separation? Which regional government has made that demand on behalf of the people they represent democratically and constitutionally? Tell us that recognised state or regional government of the South East that is synonymous with the Scottish or Catalan demand? If my opinion as a Nigerian does not count, why are you demanding from Nigeria? Why not just call together like minded opinions of yours and have your country? This morning, I will give you the sound education you need to succeed in life. |
waternogetememy:I already defeated you with my very sane and logical argument, referencing the legitimacy of the Catalan ambitions as opposed to the delusional ambitions of a terrorist group that is not recognised as representing anyone. IPOB cannot stand a sane argument because your demands are already flawed from the root. Is IPOB a democratic representative of the SouthEast that already have a democratic and constitutional government and representation? Has any local government, or state government requested for separation? Has any state assembly from the SouthEast raised any motion talkless of passing a motion requesting for separation? Has the SouthEast not got legislators at the national assembly, who can talk and make any demand that represents the wishes of their constituency? Dude, IPOB is a joke, and the sooner you stop comparing that joke to a regional government of Scotland, Catalonia or Kurdish Iraq, the sooner you will realise that a joke is meant for humour. So I laugh in IPOB. |
dodelight:Exactly! If after his sack in 2019, Buhari mentions corruption as a scourge plaguing the country, I will stone him with all of my shoes. This is the same country where Obasanjo never hesitated to sack ministers or drop his aides. However their prosecution which began immediately never gained traction. This is the same country where Yar Adua did not hesitate to sack Prof. Adenike Grange as minister of health during the bribe for budget scandal. He also sacked Bode George as NPA chairman and successfully prosecuted him to become a convict in jail. But with Jonathan and Buhari, we have seen the worst mockery of democracy and rule of law. Show the balls to fight corruption within the executive like OBJ and Yar Adua, however tokenism it might be. |
waternogetememy:Who has requested for a separation in Nigeria? If an autonomous democratic regional government that is recognised has failed, is it a joke group that will succeed? |
Olalan:We wrongly thought Buhari to be upright, only to realise he is downwright opposed to fighting corruption among his own beloved. |
I have now come to the conclusion that Buhari is the greatest obstacle to the EFCC fight against corruption. If I was Magu, I will resign in protest of the lethargy being exhibited by the president in this claimed fight against corruption. |
Firefire:The text in bold is my judgement on this matter. |
He must have been reading his own news on Catalonia upside down. If a constitutionally recognised and democratic regional government that is already autonomous cannot achieve a valid separation from its present country, I fail to see how a terrorist group not recognised as a regional government or constitutional and democratic representative of the SouthEast, be expected to achieve anything significant in their outlandish agenda. |
Thanks for telling us. How honest is the fight against corruption in your own government? Is the corrupt judiciary which you would blame for not getting any conviction after 2yrs in power, also responsible for the lethargy demonstrated by the president in fighting corruption within the presidency? Mr Osinbajo, how long does it take to study your report on the SGF weeding scandal and the NIA Ikoyi Dollars? |
I also thought Buhari truly cared about fighting corruption. Now he has shown that not only does he not care, he also does not care he has finally been unravelled as a grand hypocrite. |
Not unexpected. In the end, the Catalans will campaign for the autonomy they already enjoyed, but did not appreciate. |
Good decision. I already offered that advice just a day ago as seen below. https://www.nairaland.com/4138977/justice-ayo-salami-rejects-appointment#61779576 Throwback:Now the question remains that is it until the likes of Sarrki, Cleverly, Abba Kyari and Malami resign before the aloof Buhari rises up to the occasion and equally resign for being the greatest obstacle to a wholesome and non-partisan fight against corruption? Must we beg an acclaimed corruption fighter to fight corruption? Buhari must go now by resignation or impeachment, or be sacked by the electorates in 2019. |
DonVikings:Abeg help me tell the guy ooo that loyalty should not be blind. The ultimate loyalty should be for the constitution. |
sarrki:I will only stand by someone who is making a purposeful effort but constrained by circumstances beyond his control. If Buhari is accused of not turning Nigeria to Dubai overnight while depending largely on oil whose price has crashed relative to recent years, I will lend a voice of rational support. If the Judiciary tolerates multitudes of loopholes and outright corruption by judges on cases bordering on corruption, I will castigate the erring judges and support the government of the day. But when an anti-corruption government provides an enabling environment for nepotism, tribalism, lackadaisical prosecution of corruption cases, and the president himself refuses to sanitise his presidency that is stinking, then I will make sure that such government is sacked as ASAP. Buhari will not go beyond 2019. |
sarrki:Continue talking, rather than talk to your boss that he has squandered his political capital and goodwill. Let him continue dragging his foot as his loyalists forsake him in hordes. I will never beg my employee to do his job when I can sack him and have him replaced with someone who is more equipped and enthusiastic to deliver. Sai Baba is now Nay Baba. |
sarrki:Tell Buhari he has been unravelled, and we that campaigned for him in 2015, have built him a wheel barrow equipped with a pole to hang his drip, that will convey him straight to Daura by May 2019. |
Dare to mention integrity concerning Buhari? Where is the Osinbajo report on SGF and NIA dollars? Must a president be begged to do his job and in time? Or is it the corrupt judiciary that has hindered an action that solely lies within the purview of executive decision? |
Dare to mention integrity concerning Buhari? |
Saraki and Dogora are justified in their actions. |
mightyhazel:Indeed I did. |
Buhari truly failed a lot of patriots. A very shameful failure. But as I do not regret the sacking of the Ineffectual Buffon called Jonathan, so would I not regret hurling the hypocritical Buhari in a wheel barrow destined for Daura. |
