Phones / Re: An Open Letter To Nigerian Internet Service Providers by thundey95(m): 5:29pm On Oct 02, 2013
Well I understand your pain and every one else pain our Internet Service Providers has been inflicting on us since these years, we all shout God bless Nigeria when we dont bless ourselves, America and other developed countries achieve greatness trough the love they have and share for themselves and their nation, they make life much harder to theirselves and every things seems easy.

Though I dont really blame those ISP in Nigeria, are they not the people that made it unlimited before? lets think about this in a more broad and sensible way, if you're giving unlimited internet access for a day, I bet you will almost download all the latest songs, apps, video and some insensible and useless things, am not saying downloading is a crime, i do that alot, but we Nigerians use things recklessly as soon as its available for free, we only value paid services more than free (EVEN IF PAID SERVICE IS USELESS) an yet we love free things!

Imagine someone downloaded Adult movies more thant 70 GB in a day, just because he's using unlimited internet access, that's whole lots of data and this am sure it will definitely affect the network entirely and the only way our ISP can stop this is to stop unlimited internet access.

therefore aanother apology letter to our ISP

To any ISP it may concern

pls dear sir or ma
pls help us restore the glory of unlimited data bundle, and we promise not to abuse it or use it uselessly, we've now understand how greatly it will affect your network which is your top priority to be made available to us all the time.

we understand it is for our own benefits, come to our rescue and give us unlimited internet access again

Thank you for your understand.

your faithfully

unlimited internet access lover

Phones / How To Reduce Mobile Internet Data Usage On Android Devices by thundey95(m): 8:57pm On Sep 28, 2013
As many people are now using Android phones more than before at least since Tecno Mobile is producing the cheapest Android phones, there are many tips, tricks, tweaks thats available on android devices and you only get the best if you always connect to the internet. But unlike BlackBerry phones where you can subscribe to BIS and use it to browse the internet. Android devices rely on available internet data on or wifi connection to surf the web. But because of many services and or apps that depends on data to run either foreground or background made volume of data consumption on android devices very high. I can bet my last dollar that a 50 megabytes of data wont last a day if you're addicted or adapted to the internet. But there is workarounds or tips you can implement to be off the hook of wasting your money on data plan to browse.

1. RESTRICT BACKGROUND DATA FOR APPS
As i'd already mentioned that there are many background processes that sucks up data and the worst part is that many of these apps doesn't really need to use data or doesn't necessary. App will run in the background to check for updates, refresh and do all sort of unconcerned processes that will suck up all your data in a blink of eye, does that worth wasting of data over? This how to restrict apps from running in the background. Head over to settings>data usage>scroll down to select the app>click on it and mark restrict background data>press ok to
confirm your selection..

DISABLE AUTOMATIC UPDATE APPS
By default settings any apps you installed on you devices has been set to automatically update and this process will consume lotta data. You can disable this in Play settings go to playstore>tap the menu button>click on settings>unchecked auto-update apps>

3. LIMIT BACKGROUND PROCESSES
You can also limit the amount of background processes your phone can carry out, there by reduce the amount of meg. Consume when apps is running in the background. Go to settings>developer
options>scroll down under apps tab, then click
on background process limit>then select your
desired process limit.

4. OFF YOUR DATA WHEN YOU DONT USE IT
You dont need to turn on your data when you dont use it, dont leave it for the tiger apps that love to kill and eat data to do their cruel work. Always turn it off when you dont use it!

5. USE BETTER BROWSER AND CHANGE BROWSER SETTINGS TO SAVE DATA
Opera mini has proven to be one the best mobile browser, with opera mini as your browser there is no need to worry much about high data consumption, you can even turn off loading of images to save data and also for faster loading.
You can read more about this tips and view screen shots with detailed guide on www.kulhead.com/2013/09/how-to-minimize-internet-data.html.

All the above above tips are tested and trusted, you can let me know if you need more tips, feel free to share this with your friends to save them from cruel data consumption bon their android phones.

Technology Market / How To Protect Your Credit Cards / ATM When Shopping Online by thundey95(m): 2:49pm On Jul 26, 2013
Many Online Applications now support the using of Credit Cards popularly known in 9ja as ATM cards for payment, This reduce the efforts of going to bank and queue from morning till evening and you will still never get your registration card. A close different story is when you want to apply for admission from an institution that's far away from your residence place, you'll be shocked that the registration card will not be avialable in your city, you may need to travel a long distance to purchase the registration card. Some has lost their admission due to these reason because at the end they failed to obtain the registration card and do their application.

But with the usage of ATM cards to make payment online and register for your examination, Many students are happy for this great advancement that happen the Education and Internet section, though many Online expert has been enjoying the usage of their ATM cards to purchase and shop online for a very long time.

But now that's widely use among innocent Nigerian students who don't know how to secure their ATM cards from fraudsters, I've seen some sending their ATM Cards details to third party in other to make registration on their behalf which is very very move. I have shortlisted ways you can use your ATM cards securely and perfectly and I hope this post find its way to Nairaland First Page to help Secure Innocent Nigerians ATM Cards from fraudster.

Change Your PIN immediately after each transaction

After every transaction you made online with your ATM cards, be sure to go and change your PIN immediately. Your credit card PIN is very precious to a fraudster even than your CVV2 number and any other card details, without your PIN there is basically nothing any crook will do with your funds. Do you know your PIN allows direct withdrawals of cash from your account? Your PIN should be the last thing you’ll ever tell anybody

Use Your Credit Card Only on Trusted Sites

There are some fake sites that are just design to wheedle out your credit cards information and some shopping sites doesn’t have adequate security to protect your credit from fraud. be aware of those sites and never use your ATM cards on them.

Don’t Send Your Credit Cards Info to Anyone

This is very common among our Nigerian students, they'll want other person to do the registration for them and they will send all their ATM card detail to that person, including their PIN, I've witnessed a case where a guy use another person ATM cards to buy a laptop online cost N56,000. you should never send your ATM cards details to anyone!

Protect your Computer

The next step to secure your ATM cards and your online transaction is to secure your computer, you should never think of shopping online or use your credit card with a computer that’s riddled with viruses, spyware or malware and keyloggers.

I think I've said enough to keep save your ATM cards, but in any case you are suspicious of fraudulent transaction on your Account, be sure to notify your Bank Immediately.

Religion / Nigerian Pastor Beaten To Coma After Condoms Fell Out Of His Bible by thundey95(m): 5:09pm On May 29, 2013
A Christian pastor is fighting for his life after he was beaten into coma when condoms fell out of his Bible during a preaching session in a bus. According to a local news source, the Daily Post, the pastor whose name was not released, was nearly killed Saturday morning at Toyota Bus Stop by the popular Ladipo Spare Parts Market in Mushin, Lagos, Lagos State, Nigeria.

The pastor boarded a bus in Apapa and started preaching to the passengers, uttering statements such as, “If you wear trouser you’ll go to hell! The devil invented make-up! Weave-on is from marine kingdom! If you have pre-marital sex you will burn in hell and your skin will peel!” Some of those on the bus were so moved, they started falling under the ‘anointing’.

John Mbakogu, a witness on his way to his shop at Ladipo, told Daily Post: “People were just falling as he was laying hands. One man almost fell out of the bus under the influence of the Spirit. It was amazing until he raised his hands to cast the demons out of one girl, and two Durex condoms fell out. The angry men in the bus who had been having pangs of guilt due to the pastor’s preaching about sex suddenly got really angry and pounced on him, who all of a sudden started shouting, I also preach safe sex! Safe sex is good!”

The paper reports police had to be called to the scene to save the pastor’s life. Two arrests were said to be made, and the condoms were retained as evidence.
