Dimensity 1200+ is the latest and highest MTK Chipset.

And MTK restricted their top chipsets to China alone so it is no one's fault that they are making stu.pid business decisions
when people didn't want mtk they were everywhere, now people want them and they make them china exclusive. Kind of sad cry

you better don't embrace what you will regret later. Majority of us note 9s still dey do on and off.
i use note 8 pro. My thought process is - if it's in the works for note 8 then it's in the work for 8 pro also. Personally though, i prefer miui update and security patches to android numbered updates cuz i like gaming and sometimes android updates ruin game support and most mobile game devs don't bother updating unless the game is still bringing in money

China ROM. And it is still a stable beta.
but doesn't that mean eventually global roms will get it too or do Chinese roms typically get longer android updates compared to global roms

Or it may just simply be optimization. Software updates may do the trick
i think i saw the headline somewhere - maybe anandtech, i might be wrong though

sd 888 more power hungry than 865. Seems they used the extra space the 5nm sd888 gives them to push for more performance rather than battery efficiency

How many midrange Xiaomi devices have the juice to run this?
i used to run it on my redmi note 8 pro and 60fps in performance mode and 30fps at the highest settings. So i can vouch for any any phone with a mtk helio g90t or Snapdragon 720 and above

Jesu! grin grin grin

I thought it was a glitch when the APK asked me to download 8gb+. That's why I came here to confirm.

I had always thought COD mobile, which consumes about 5gb, is the largest I've ever seen. But this one takes the crown.
games getting bigger by d year, which is why it pains me that google are doing their best to make mem cards obsolete rather than investing in improving them.

This is more like the new normal, infact grid autosport multiplayer and single player together were taking almost 9gb when i still had them installed.

for now, they said nxt year for Android, but considering they said the same for grid autosport and it took almost 3 years, i'd only believe that time frame when i see the actual game on playstore

but it would be a delicate situation for them to joined apple. E.g I've never use iPhone before, but I was contemplating to tell my fiancee before to order from USA & send it to Nigeria. But due to charger excluding, I've stopped, cos I don't want to buy new phone without charger. And meanwhile their 15wt - 30wt is different in the market now. I will now be looking to buy charger again.

What is my gain, if I buy phone of 500-600k without charger. Nobody advice apple @ all.

I bet you Samsung & the rest won't join, cos they would loose market, Xiaomi and oppo, oneplus are coming in full force to top apple and Samsung.
just look at the headphone jack situation, they mocked apple on dat too but eventually followed suite. These companies only care about one thing, Profit!!!! And if apple reports record-breaking revenue numbers, especially from sales of accessories like chargers, xiaomi and Samsung and other android oems will follow the apple way.

Hollusilva28:
Xiaomi has taken to social media to poke some light fun at Apple’s decision to remove the charger (and EarPods) from the iPhone 12 packaging. There is some irony about the Chinese OEM trolling the same company it has frequently been accused of closely imitating, though.

The Twitter account for Xiaomi in Spain has been trolling Apple and the iPhone 12 . The Cupertino company controversially revealed that its latest iPhone would not be shipped with a power adapter, thus supposedly cutting down on e-waste and allowing Apple to produce a smaller box for the iPhone 12. While some may applaud Apple for its commitment to the environment, others have been more cynical.

The Xiaomi troll tweet (see below) translates from Spanish into English as “Good morning MiFans, today we dreamed that our smartphones came without a charger in the box (cold sweat emoji). Fortunately it was just a nightmare (voltage emoji)”. Of course, Xiaomi smartphones generally come with an appropriate fast charger, the required cables, and various accessories such as a protective case. Perhaps Xiaomi just doesn’t care as much about the environment as Apple though?

Depending on your view, Apple’s move is either pleasing or infuriating. The positive spin along with the company’s PR shows that fewer accessories equals smaller boxes and therefore more units shipped per pallet. According to Apple, this results in a reduction of two million metric tons of carbon emissions that can be reimagined as taking 450,000 cars off the road on an annual basis. Looking at it from this point of view, then no iPhone 12 charger in the box is surely not a bad thing…

But of course, the cynics, of which Xiaomi appears to be one, will look at those iPhone 12 buyers who are new to Apple’s ecosystem and don’t have a compatible charger to hand (or EarPods). As pointed out in an extensive article in Wired , this will actually lead to additional shipping and packaging as these users order the necessary accessories. Considering Xiaomi has frequently been “ inspired” by Apple in the past, it would be amusing if the Chinese OEM follows suit in the near future by moving to charger-free smartphone shipments.

bad news - a year or so from now most of these companies mocking apple like samsung and xiaomi will join them when they see the profit apple will probably make off this decision.

The good news - compact phones will probably make a comeback in the android space next year.

really, really good. No autoplay, big open world, lot's of quests. If not for the gacha mechanics you might not even know it's a free2play game

I use gesture navigation. I also know about the bottom left or right gesture launch for GA. But the issue I had was GA launching on its own randomly without prior command or gesture.
ok, then am not sure what's going on either. Maybe try holding down the power button for 15seconds for a forced reboot and see what happens after that

I av been hearing you guys mention this "Pascal's wager" a lot here and I am tempted to try it.

Please How's d game, and hope it's not a ppsspp OR dolphin game.

Thanks
if you've heard of games like dark souls or sekiro for ps4, then Pascal's wager is an attempt (a successful one) at that genre for mobile. It's on playstore, not an emulated game

Genius43 what may be the reason why my Google Assistant keeps launching on its own at various intervals for no reason? How can I fix that please?

Is it a bug from the MIUI12.0.3? I did an update sometime last month. Device is RN8Pro
do u use gesture navigation or the classic android one? Maybe u're swiping up from the bottom-left or right of ur phone without realising, as that's how you trigger assistant when using gesture navigation.
