I've been so busy lately and I went to the local government area I had been posted by inec for the election on friday. I just got back home and I'm very tired and sleepy. You can't believe that I've not slept since I left home on friday. All I need right now is plenty of sleep. You guys should bear with me.

I wonder why I am seeing this story today. Well, I am a northerner and to be candid, captivated by your story. Keep writing, will comment after reading. By the way, thanks for inviting me.

Jordan stared at Paula without saying anything. The way he looked at her made her dropped Leila on the floor.
'Mich, let's get going'
The three walked out of the hospital with Leila in Jordan's arm. She waved at her mother as Jordan opened the door to his Mercedes. He drove them to the duplex. While in the living room, Maureen shivered as she remembered what had happened there.
'Maureen, your brother said I should take care of you guys for him but I can't do it with you here. Do you think you can trust me enough to come home with me for the time being?'
'You want us to follow you to your house?'
'Yes, I have a son, I'm sure Leila won't be bored. You too won't, not with Shan, Tara and my mother at home'
Maureen hated Tara and never wanted to take sanctuary with the Nicholas but the mere thought of staying here without Joel's assuring presence made her agreed to go with Jordan.
'Okay'
'Good, I will stay down here while you pack your suitcases. Mich, do you need help?'
'No Jordan'
He sat down on the sofa and watched them go upstairs. Twenty minutes later, he was becoming impatient when a knock sounded on the door. The two detectives that came to the hospital stood there when he finally pushed the door opened.
'We need to know what the robbers took'
He took them upstairs. Knocked the door to Mich and Joel room.
'Mich, can I come in?'
'Come in Jordan', her voice was weak.
He opened the door and found her lying on the bed. She had not packed anything. Her eyes were red and it occurred to him that she had been crying. The detectives followed him in. Jordan sat down on the bed.
'Mich, do you want to kill yourself?'
'No'
'Then stop thinking and crying. You are pregnant for goodness sake'
'Mrs Jason, can you tell us what were taken among your jewelry?'
'I don't know'
'We need to know. You should check', David told her.
She stood up and walked towards her dressing mirror. She checked where she kept her jewelry. The drawer was empty.
'They packed everything'
'Are you sure?'
'Jordan, make them go, please'
'You heard her right. Please leave'
The men left.' Do you want me to help you pack?'
'No'
Maureen appeared at the door with two suitcases. For herself and Leila. Jordan took the suicases to the car. In another ten minutes, they were gone. Jordan had seen Mich linger at the living room, looking at the pool of blood. He made a mental note to send someone to clean up the mess. He drove them in silence. Mich had ended up not packing any bag.
As Jordan parked the car, Maureen alighted slowly. She gaped at the sight she was seeing. How can people be so rich? She gazed at Mich, she didn't seem to care about the house. Why should she? When she was born and bred in money. She saw a little boy of about five running towards them.
'Daddy!'
Jordan picked the boy up and swung him into the air.
'Who are they?', he said pointing at Maureen and Leila.
'They will stay with us for a few weeks', Eugene saw Mich as she alight from the car. He left his father and ran towards her.
'Aunty Mich', he said and wrapped his little hands around her legs.
'Aunty Mich carry me'
Jordan went to pick him up.'Hey, aunty Mich is not feeling well today'
'What is wrong with her?'
Jordan didn't get to answer the boy as Tara came running out of the house, dressed in a simple peach dress. Seeing her, Jordan felt so happy and proud to be married to such woman. He let go of Eugene and welcomed her as she ran into his arms.
'Jordan, I'm scared. What is the problem?'
She saw Mich, Maureen and Leila. She stared at them. Alice Nicholas came out of the house with Shan. Although she was already seventeen, Shan still enjoyed the hugs she got from her uncle. She ran towards Jordan, laughing. Seeing her, he released Tara and was ready for her when she came.
'Uncle Jo, welcome'
'Thank you Shan'
Maureen watched them in shocked. Why did they all seem so happy and close to each other. She had never seen this side of Jordan.
'Mother good morning'
'Morning Jordan, are these Joel's sister and daughter?'
'Yes'
Maureen greeted the woman. She answered her and told her how sorry she was for what had happened.
'Welcome to our house. Tara, Shan? Show them to their rooms. I want them to bath and come down for breakfast'
'Yes mother', Tara said. She called some maids and told them to pack the suitcases upstairs. Mich walked slowly upstairs to her room. She fell on her bed and began sleeping.
Tara gave the room next to Mich to Leila and then the next room to Maureen.

Jordan pressed the end button and turned to Mich. She looked ready to faint again. A few minutes later, two doctors appeared. They moved to Mich and Jordan.
'Mr Nicholas, Mrs Jason, can we talk in my office?'
'Yea, sure' they both followed him to the office.
'I am doctor Joshua. Please have a seat'
They both sat down on the two empty seats in the office.
'How is he?'
'I believe he will live. Joel is a fighter. We should thank God he was shot at the shoulder. No major tissue was damage. He will be on his feet soon'
'Are you sure doctor?'
'Yes I am. I've known Joel for over five years, believe me when I say that he isn't ready to die yet. What I don't understand is why the robbers didn't pick what they wanted and leave in peace'
'Mrs Jason, you know your condition, don't let this weigh you down'
Mich nodded. 'Can we see him?'
'Yes you can, but he is sleeping at the moment. You know, he lost a lot of blood so we had to perform a blood transfusion for him'
'Okay, what about the. Bill?', Jordan asked'
'As a doctor in this hospital, he is entitle to some discount'
'Where can we pay the money?'
'Jordan, Joel wouldn't like you paying the hospital bill. You know him and his pride'
'Nonsense Mich, when he gets well, he should come fight me for paying the bill, for now, let's go see him'
They stood up and were accompanied to Joel's ward by doctor Joshua. They met Maureen and Leila. Joel was lying on his stomach and seemed to be breathing evenly.
'Joel please, open your eyes. You can't just lie down there. Who will take care of Leila, Maureen, I and the twins?', she said while sobbing'
Joel slowly opened his eyes. Her crying voice made him feel so helpless.
'Mich?', he managed to say
'No don't say anything. It will tire you', she told him.
'Maureen? Leila?'
'We are here Joel, please don't leave us'. Maureen told him
'He is tired, you should allow him rest', Joshua told them.
'Jordan, please take care of my them for me. They are all I've got'
'I will do anything you want, just quickly be on your feet'
'Thank you, Maureen, Jordan isn't like me, you must learn to listen to him'
They were ushered out. Jordan was at a corner talking to doctor John about Maureen and Leila. The doctor confirm that the girl wasn't rape but they were both in shock. They need love, attention and plenty of rest. He looked at his wrist watch, it was already 8am. A fair woman, a little bit on the short side appeared.
'You Michelle, you want to kill my daughter for me? No it won't work'
'What are you saying?'
'There were no robbers Mich, they were your thugs. You wanted them to kill my daughter'
'That's not true', Mich said in tears.
Paula, from her first fight with Mich, knew that Mich was strong. Today however, Mich was pregnant, ill and tired. She saw it as an opportunity to beat her up and make her miscarry the pregnancy. Later, on, she would apologize, after the deed was done.
'Mummy...'
'Sweet heart I'm coming, let me show this woman here that you still have a mother that cares'
Paula ran to Mich and pushed her. She fell down. Jordan, just stood at the corner watching. He wanted to see the extend that Paula would go.
'No Paula, don't touch her', Maureen shouted.
'Why? Do you know that I was suppose to marry Joel? She did this to me'
'She didn't Paula. Joel told me everything and why he never would marry you. I don't like Michelle, at least, she is honest. You care only for yourself'
Mich stood up. She saw Jordan coming and prayed he didn't see what had happened.
'Hey Mich, let's go home', Jordan was trying his best to control his anger.
'Hey Mich, I'm not done with you yet', paula said while dragging Mich. Jordan turned to Paula.
'Who are you?'
'Leila here is my daughter and your sister is trying to kill her'
'That's not what Leila and Maureen told us and the detectives. They said the robbers were sent to kill Mich and you Paula, are my number one suspect'
' What? You jerk'
'I saw you talked disrespectfully to Mich and I saw you pushed her down. Thank your stars you are a lady, if you were a man, I would have beat the hell out of you'
'Hey, you can't do that'
'Be warned lady, that if a strand of hair went missing from Mich's head, I will come after you. You are a rumor monger. Keep spreading rumor about Mich, I will make you pay'
'Who in the hell do you think you are'
'I am a Nicholas. We Nicholas take care of our own. Let me hear pin from the papers about Mich, you will regret ever being born for I will make sure I destroy you and all that is dear to you'
'Are you threatening me, mr Nicholas?'
'Yes, I am. What will you do about it?'
'Your sister snatch Joel from me'
'That's between you and Joel, leave Mich out of it'
'You are bluffing right?'
Jordan moved closer until he was an inch away from her.
'Don't expect not to get burnt when you play with fire. I am not Joel miss, so be careful what you say to me'
He moved and whispered in her ears
'Oh by the way, it seems business is running bad? Prostitute'
Paula was shocked. How did this man know that she sometimes stand on the roadside looking for business? Only Joel knew and she was sure he didn't tell him. Looking at Jordan Nicholas, she knew that he meant every single word he said. The man is dangerous. She took a step backward and turned to her daughter,
'Leila come, let's go home'
'She's not going with you Paula'
'You dare take my child?'
'Joel knew she had a mother when he asked me to take care of her. He left her in my care'
'He wouldn't do that'
'He did'
Paula was ready for trouble. She moved towards Leila and picked her up.
'If you have anything to say, go to Joel, but I won't let you take her'

when u restarted this beautiful story and u didnt mention me, i decided to follow quietly without any comment. Buh at this junction, i have to commend ur effort on d twist n turns. Weldone tiffanyj, u re gifted. God bless u plenty.

I've really wrong so many people by not mentioning them. What really happened was this, there are so many readers, old and new. The only way I can get a complete list is by going through my work, page by page and copying.what I did instead was to copy the ones I already wrote at the begining of this work and paste when I decided to complete this story. That was my mistake, apperently, some names were not included and I found oo late as I got complaints from many people.
Like I said before, this is not an excuse for omiting some names, but I'm pleading with you to forgive me. I always wandered why you never comment. I even wished you a happy birthday the other day in another thread opened in your name and you said not a thing. I never knew I excluded your name until now. Please forgive me

'Can someone explain to me what is happening?', Edward asked looking at his daughter who had just passed out.
'Dear, what happened is that my daughter passed out', Alice answered her husband. Jordan ran to the bathroom and appeared with a bowl of water. He sprinkled it on her while her mother and Tara held her.
'She is going to be okay?', Shan asked
As if to answer Shan, Mich slowly opened her eyes. She was surprised that her bed was surrounded by them. It took her two minutes to remember. When she finally did, Mich turned to her mother and buried her face on her bosom and began crying.
'Mich, its a bad dream, you will see Joel tomorrow morning'
'Father, I wish it were a bad dream. If Joel dies, I will kill myself'
'Mich, can you explain to us what the problem is?' Her mother asked her
Mich turned to Jordan
'Jordan you have to take me to Joel's'
'What's happening there?'
'Arm robbers came, they shot him'
'How would you know that?'
'Maureen called me'
'Maureen?', her father asked, baffled
'She's Joel's younger sister. Why are you all interrogating me, I'm going by myself if Jordan won't take me'
Jordan took her phone and tried joel's number, Maureen picked it on the first ring.
'Michelle, where are you? We've taken him to the hospital'
'This is Jordan, which hospital?'
'Where he works'
'Okay, we are coming'
Jordan turned to the others,'Mich didn't have a nightmare, Joel was shot'
There was silence in the room. 'Common, Jordan let's go, you're wasting time'
'We can't appear at the hospital like this. Change into something'
Jordan left while Mich's mother seeing the confused look on Mich's face helped her into a red gown. Jordan and her father accompanied her to the hospital. She was met by the security man, Leila and Maureen. Maureen, who had been scared and needed someone to hold, on sighting Mich, ran to her and flung her arms around her. She was shaking and crying. She remembered what those men did to her and cried her eyes out, refusing to be comforted.
Jordan and Edward went in to see the receptionist.
'Where is he?'
'Doctors are performing surgery on him', she replied.
So they got a seat and sat down. Edward saw Leila quietly crying and wondered who she was
'Jordan who is that kid'
'Joel's child'
Two men appeared and identified themselves as detectives.
'Miss Jason, can you tell me who those men are?'
'How I'm I suppose to know them, they wore mask over their faces'
'Did your brother fight them? Maybe that's why they shot him twice'
'He didn't fight them'
'What happened?'
'They wanted to shoot me and daddy got in their way', Leila spoke for the first time
'Why would they want to shot at a child?'
Jordan wondered out loud. Edward Nicholas turned to the men,
'I want those men found, they must pay for what they did to these poor girls'
'Sir, we are trying our best'
'Try harder, in fact, I will speak to the person in charge tomorrow. Stop interrogating the girls for now, they've been through a lot already. You can talk with them later, for now, I want them to be medically observed'
Maureen turned to the millionaire she had heard so much about. He seemed nice. As she was being taken away from the reception hall, Maureen said
'They were not ordinary robbers. I think they came looking for someone'
'Who?', detective David asked
'She', maureen said, pointing at Mich
'Me?'
'They were particularly interested in where you were and seem to already know you are pregnant'
Both Edward and Jordan looked at Mich in fear.
'Are you sure?'
'They asked daddy to tell them how many month pregnant aunt Michelle is'
'What did he say?', Jordan asked Leila.
'At first he kept quiet and they....'
'They what?', Edward asked
'They removed aunty Maureen's clothes'
Maureen recalled it all, she fell down in shock and was rushed to the emergency unit.
'Father, do you know what this means?', Jordan asked,
'It means someone is trying to kill Mich'
'But why?'
'Jordan, call your mum, tell her to let no one out of that house'
'who are you calling?'
'The minister of defence. He owe me one', Edward replied

Joel finally left the hospital around 6pm, very tired. He drove home with only two things in mind, shower and sleep. At home, he found Maureen and Leila watching a television programme.
'Daddy welcome', Leila went to greet him.
'How was your day at school?'
'Fine. Aunty Maureen prepared spaghetti'
'Hope you've eaten?'
'Yes daddy'
'Joel welcome', Maureen had greeted him.
'Thank you'
'Where is Michelle?'
'She is vacating with her parents'
'Leila told me you said she will soon have brothers'
Joel smiled, 'oh yes, Mich is pregnant. We confirm that she is carrying twins'
'I hate her Joel, why not just divorce her'
'Stop being selfish Maureen. Very soon, you will marry and then pray your sister-in-law doesn't treat you as you are treating Mich'
'Joel you know that...'
'Maureen, I'm very tired. Just returning from the hospital. One of my patient was involved in an accident and went into premature labor. All I need right now is a birth and an undisturbed sleep'
'You always take her side'
Joel climb the stairs to his room, he had a bath and dialed Mich's number but it was busy. He intended calling again but slept off.
He opened his eyes sometime later and saw a pistol pointed at him. Everything happened too fast, he was dragged downstairs where he meet his security man lying on the floor. A few seconds later two men came down with Maureen and Leila. Both girls were frightened.
'Is there any other person in this house?', one of the robbers asked.
'No', Joel quickly answered.
He looked at the men, they were all in black and putting on a mask and hand gloves. He saw five of them and wondered why they wanna rob him because he didn't even have money. His eyes locked with the man who seemed to be the leader. He moved toward and slapped joel.
'I want them all to lie down', joel quickly went on his stomach, Maureen and Leila followed suit. The security man was already on the tiled floor.
'We are here for your money and jewelry. Who is in charge of this house?'
'Joel raised his hands,' I am'
'Good, be on your knees'
Joel scrambled on his knees, he saw both Maureen and Leila crying silently.
'Now, is that pretty lady lying there your wife?'
'No, she's my sister'
'Oh, your sister, in that case, where is your wife?'
Joel wondered for a second how they knew he was married.
'She's not here'
'Where is she?'
'She's visiting her parents'
'Mr, I have zero tolerance for liars. Gang, bring the sister to me'
He watched as Maureen was brought foward, she was shaking like a leaf.
'You see mister, for every lie, one of my men will rape your little sister until we've have our fill'
Joel nodded.
'Good. Where is your wife?'
'She is visiting her family'
'When did she go?'
'Yesterday morning'
'Is your wife pregnant?'
That question threw him off balance. Is this an ordinary robbery? Joel doubt. They were not asking him to reveal where he hid his money but where interested in a wife that was unavailable.
'Ganja!'
'Boss'
'Tear off her night dress'
'No, no, please', Joel said almost in tears.
But he might have been talking to the wall. He was forced to watch as Maureen's dress was torn into pieces. She knelt there, unclad. When she used her arms to cover her bosoms, she received two slaps from the leader.
'Kneel still, I want your brother to see you. He shall watch us have our fill of you'
Maureen was scared, and humiliated.
'Now, mister, is your wife pregnant?'
'Yes she is'
'How far gone is she?'
'Nine weeks'
'Good boy'
'Please, take anything you want. Just don't hurt my little girl and sister'
Leila was taken upstairs where she showed two of the robbers where Mich kept her jewelry. They took some cash too and came back downstairs.
'Be on your feet'
Joel went on his feet.
'Now look at your little girl for the last time for today, she shall meet her maker'
'Please, she is just a child'
'And she might grow up to be dangerous'
The leader went to Maureen, he played with her bosoms and her tighs while Joel watched. They packed their loots and began heading out. Tiger stared at Leila, such an innocent girl but he had been instructed to kill her. Joel saw him pulled the trigger, he didn't think. He went flying towards. Leila as two shots rang out. Two bullets pierced his back.
'Damn it, we've got to go, the policemen will be here any moment', he heard one of the robbers said.
Blood was emanating from Joel's body and Maureen forgot her uncladness.
'Joel, please don't leave me. Marry that Michelle of a girl, have thirty children with her, please don't die. I have no one but you'
She was crying and tapping Joel.
'Madam Maureen, let's take him to the hospital'
Maureen ran upstairs, she needed to call someone. She entered her brother's room and saw his phone on the bed. She went to call history and Mich's number was the first she saw. She dialed it and told her the bad news leading to Mich's fainting.

Jordan didn't solicited for help in Tara's firm, he went to. Kelvin and if you read my last update, I said that the man made a mistake, he shall soon be caught which means that Jordan and Kelvin were at his trail.
Joel was not in good terms with his paternal uncles, and I wrote somewhere that his mother had a brother. Continue reading and you will see. Thank you

'Love, wake up and get ready for me to take you home', Joel told a sleepy Mich the next day.
'Can't I spend another day with you?', she asked him in a drowsy tune.
'you know I want you here with me but I shall resume work tomorrow, I won't have time to drive you over'

'We discuss this already, haven't we, love?'
Mich knew that Joel made the right decision, it hurts but she had to leave. After bathing, she sat down in front of the dressing mirror.
'Come on love, you don't need to paint your face. You are naturally beautiful'
'No, I don't want you looking at another woman'
'For crying out loud you have been staring at that mirror for ages'
'I'm almost done'
He packed a suitcase for her while she dressed. They had breakfast and then he drove her home to her parents. Once in the Nicholas mansion, the two held hands and walked to the living room. The whole family were having breakfast. Eugene ran to her
'Aunty Mich'
Mich picked him up and kissed his cheek, he laughed in delight as she poked his stomach.
'How are you doing?'
'I'm fine'
Joel turned and greeted his wive's parents, Jordan and Tara. After the greetings they were invited to break fast with the family but they declined. Shan and Eugene soon left for school.
'Sir, I want to first apologize for the way I married your daughter, that was definitely not well done of me. Mich and I have talked about this and have agreed to come here and seek your forgiveness', Joel said while standing.
'Young man, I'm a very busy man. What do you want?', Edward asked quietly
Joel stared at mich and said the one thing she never thought of. Her husband was so full of surprises, she thought.
'I intend bringing her bride price and re-marrying her in the church, the right way'
'Joel will you truly do that?', Mich asked him with tears in her eyes.
'Yes love, I will do anything for you'
Alice and Jordan were baffled as they wondered about the change in Joel and Mich. For these are the same people that were at each others throat a few days ago. Joel wanted to make peace with his father-in-law and promised to let nothing come between his decision. Going on his knees in front of the whole family, Joel retrieved a silver ring from his finger and turned to Mich
'Michelle Nicholas, I have hurt you so much and I have turned your family against you. I married you legally but not the right way. Please give me a chance to prove my love for you and to make peace with your family. Will you marry me a second time not in secret but proudly and for the whole world to see?'
Mich forgot her parents, her brother and his wife, She saw only her husband and let the tears to freely flow.
'Yes Joel, I will marry you again and again and again. All you need do is ask and I will obliged you'
Edward was late for work and didn't want to forgive joel easily. He saw his daughter and the happiness in her beautiful face and began thinking of the last time he had seen her so happy. He remembered, she was ten and he had traveled to London and brought back a German bred puppy for her. She didn't sleep that night and had named it Lilibet. The dog died two years later of food poison and Mich had swore either jordan or Jason were responsible. Seeing her this happy made him feel satisfied. Well, she is married, pregnant and seemed happy, shouldn't him give her his blessings?
'Okay Joel, bring your bride price and your people. Mich are you sure?'
'Yes father, I'm very sure'
Edward welcomed his daughter and her husband and was about to go when her voice stopped him.
'Father?'
'What is it again?'
'Since you've forgiven me, I'm I always welcome here?'
'Sure'
'Joel and I had agreed that I should stay here for a while as I'm having a complicated pregnancy and he is away most of the time. His sister is just twenty one and knows nothing about pregnancy. At least, I will have mother and Tara here'
Her father turned to joel,'what about your mother?'

Edward left and Mich went to her mum, she hugged her and told her she was sorry for making her cry.
'Can you two tell me what's going on here?', Alice Nicholas asked
'Mother, joel and I sat down and talked and I won't mind learning from you about being a good wife. I have so much to learn from you and Tara. I want my marriage to last the way yours and father did'
Alice was happy, her daughter is now turning to a new leaf. Jordan called his secretary and cancelled his schedule. The way things are going, it was time Joel know about the video and the blackmail. The blackmailer made a mistake and he would soon be caught.
'Jordan, mich and Joel are so romantic'. Tara told him on their way upstairs.
'Joel is now behaving like my brother-in-law'. Jordan proudly told her.
Meanwhile, Joel escorted Mich upstairs to her room. She looked around and wish Joel, Maureen and Leila will come live in this house but she knew it wasn't possible.
'Okay love, off I go, I shall visit you tomorrow'
'Let's make love before you go'
'Are you not tired?'
'I can't ever get tired of you'
'Mich, this isn't our home, your mum might here us'
'Then we will be extremely quiet, won't we?'
He turned the key and joined her in bed. It was an hour later when he finally slipped out of the room leaving her sleeping. Jordan attacked him at the hallway.
'You know Joel, you don't have respect'
'What is it'
'Making love to mich with mum at home'
'Oh I see, you don't touch Tara at all because your mum is at home'
'Tara and I live here'
'By the way, what made you think I and your sister...'
'I'm a man Joel and you have the look of a man who had just had his fill'
'Nonsense'
'Well, since the two of you are married I have nothing to say but there is something I need to tell you about Mich'
'Okay, I'm listening'
'Let's go to the library'
On their way there, Joel got an emergency call from the hospital. It was his day off but he was needed, he apologized to jordan and promised to hear him out the next day before going.

It was her mum that finally woke her up from sleep that afternoon. She pretended not to notice that her daughter was lying unclad beneath the covers and that her clothes were scattered all over. She made a mental note to talk sense into her daughter.
'Wake up Mich, its time for lunch'
after lunch, she had a quiet evening with Tara and they soon began making plans for their unborn babies. That night, at 2am, while Mich was still sleeping, she received a call from Maureen. The girl was sobbing but Mich made out a few words.
'Arm robbers... Joel being shot and blood'
She threw the phone away and screamed her head off. A few minutes later, her room was crowded.
'Is it a bad dream?', her father asked
'No, Joel had been shot' and she passed out.
