Bolowolowo:In as much as I agree with you that the girls were not fantastic, nevertheless, don't downplay their victory by trying to say that South Korea is not a force to reckon with in female football. South Korea is 14th in the women Fifa ranking, Nigeria is 38th. So yes, the win today is similar to the Men's win against Iceland in the World cup. Same shambolic display by the men, cos Iceland was the better side that day, but the individual brilliance and the fact that we took our only chance that came won us the game, Same with the girls game today. Iceland had chances including a penalty but failed to score , Same with South Korea. so the two performance are similar |
andrew444:As in , sometimes I will just sit down and imagine if Chukwueze was English. They will probably be comparing him with Mbappe by now, making the boy that still needs to work hard to think that he has arrived. That is how the useless media were comparing Rashford with Mbappe. Mbappe that is miles ahead of Rashford o. Now the mumu niwon thinks he's the best striker even that man utd coach is now benching a proven striker like Lukaku for him. Lukaku that scores minimum of 20goals per season even while at Everton. I just SMH sometimes for British media people |
andrew444:Yea both Ndidi and Gueye should be getting all the hype though Funny how Declan Rice is not even half as good as any of the two but that mumu gets hyped as if he's the next Sergio Busquets . No wonder English players always underperform when it matters , cos most of them aren't half as good as good as Brazilian players playing for Native Brazilian clubs of Santos or Corinthians. but their media will not let us hear word about them |
TheGoodJoe:I hope you know that the super eagles pass better in good pitches. You can see our games in Uyo and on better pitches. Our game has been horrible on that Asaba potato pitch. Even our Seychelles game, we struggled to string passes together due to the bumpiness of the pitch |
kennysville:You were just beating about the bush. You ended up saying nothing about how Nacho's experiences affected his form. In summary, you said nothing |
Earthquake2:Iheanacho ass lickers are just as pathetic as it can get. Iheanacho doesn't even get lampooned by Leicester fans every week, the way Arsenal Fans make a scape goat out of Iwobi any time the team lose a game. Yet the guy keeps improving and proving them wrong every week. If Nacho can't handle criticism in football, cos he will always get one, he should probably look for another profession |
OMANBALA1:So an attacking midfield of Simon Moses is what will now pay us. E ti ya werey sir ![]() |
BascoVanVeli:You see that is where u are wrong. Iwobi got into the National team as a Midfielder not even as a winger in the first place, during Arsene wenger's era. He only started playing in the wings under their new coach in this just concluded season. So what's your point? |
Kog45:As in I don't even know the mumu that even brought the nonsense up. Person wey never stamp his authority even as a winger, they are thinking of AM again. Crazy people just full here, walahi. They even had to down play Iwobi's midfield role in the team, just to push their useless agenda. May be because they are already seeing the handwriting on the wall , that the guy won't get to play in the Afcon due to the fact that we now have a lot of options in the wing, his handlers are now looking to push him into the midfield role. Very pathetic |
forgiveness:If you're trying to say Hazard is selfish, well I agree, and he's selfish with good end product. And more so, being selfish is relative, cos Hazard has his goals and high number of assist to show for it. What does Simon have to show for his selfishness, nothing, except for wastefulness. And second point, if you are trying to say that Hazard can't cross the ball, then you are a joker that needs not to be taken seriously. Lastly Hazard is a true and true winger, not AMF. He has never at any point played as an AMF. the only position I know he has played is the False 9 position, which he played sometimes under Chelsea former coach, Conte |
Humility017:They think AMF role is about gra gra and running aimlessly. They want people that can't even cross accurately and are very selfish on the ball to come and play attacking midfield role. People that'll rather dribble into a tight corner instead of releasing passes to a striker Making a fine run, thereby messing up the run of play. May be they think the role is only about aimless running and dribbling though. ![]() |
OMANBALA1:By energy , you mean gra gra ![]() Playing as an attacking Midfielder is much more than muscling your way in the midfield, it is about vision and pin point defence splitting passes. If it is about the muscle and energy, people like Christen Eriksen, Dele Ali, Modric, Toni Kroos, that are known to be light weight and will not even thrive in the position. Infact, that energy of his, is only needed in the wings to muscle and dribble, and it can be used in the middle as a defensive midfielder. you want to deligate an Attacking midfield job to someone that can't even make accurate crosses most of the times. Attacking midfield job that is not about sideways passing or your regular passing, it involves intelligent passing, that is different from the regular one. A defence splitting passes is an attribute of an AM. Iwobi might not be the best Midfielder in the world, but he's intelligent with his passes. Even when he plays as a winger for Arsenal , the way he split defences with his passes even as a winger will make you just marvel. Most of you pick on the guy whenever he has a bad game at Arsenal, which you all know is mostly not his fault, but people has made it into an habit to use him as a scape goat most of the time. The Afcon qualifiers we played, Iwobi created more chances than any other midfielder during the qualifier, he was the reason we never missed Mikel in the creativity aspect during the qualifier, and I'm sure Mikel himself knows that he will probably have to be in top of his game if he doesn't want Iwobi to take his AM role in the competition, cos I don't see Rohr using him in the wings any time soon. In conclusion, being an attacking Midfielder is much more than running aimlessly and muscling your way in the midfield. If you doubt me, ask Etebo. He was the person that we thought that will play our AMF after Mikel, but it is obvious the guy still needs to sort out his final passes. He only has strength and pace, that is why he was relegated to the central Midfield position |
iSlayer:Bros calm down. Norway are now average at best now and are very beatable by Nigeria. Norway are not what they used to be again, they now rely on past glory as a former world champion. The teams to beat in this competition are France, USA and England. Any team outside this three is beatable if we keep our heads down and not panick. I'm still rooting for the falcons to make second round though, even if they qualify as best looser |
Larryslim:Tell them o. Someone above me is even quoting 2017 stats in 2019 The Barcelona team is fast becoming a team to reckon with in women football. They are no pushovers |
Humility017:His mates in this context means his fellow goal keepers in the competition. Obviously the guy na old papa. |
tbaba1234:Compare him with his mates in this competition and tell me truthfully if our goalkeeper is not an eyesore. |
codemaniacs:She was in Rivers Angels then. It was her Exploits at the FIFA u20 world cup in 2014 ,where we reached final and she was the highest goal scorer and MVP of the tournament that got her the recognition that made Liverpool sign her then. After which she continue to grow. The rest they say is history. |
RTSC:I said both City and Arsenal are currently better. I know Chelsea have performed better in the past, but they are not there again Most of the Chelsea players are now Old and they are not buying . I don't know why. Arsenal just signed three new players from Bayern team, so they are serious on coming back strongly for the UWCL next season. Arsenal are former UWCL winner o. Note: Chelsea is not playing the UWCL next season. They finished third in the league, and only 1st and 2nd play the UWCL |
RTSC:Forget Chelsea . Arsenal Ladies and Man city women are currently better than them. The team to be in female football is Lyon. Lyon is like the real Madrid or Barca of female football where everyone wants to play. Chelsea women is no different from Barca ladies, they are on the same level. Take it from someone that follows the FAWL (FA women league) |
RTSC:And they got to UWCL finals. You must be joking. even after being defeated, they dominated the game. They lost because of inexperience and those string of early goals. if you watch their game, you will think you are watching Barca of Iniesta and Xavi era, with mad tiki taka |
Seun:This Naomi service is very fast and wicked o |
Earthquake3:But you can judge our own players and conclude that they are overaged, just because they are carrying dreads? Double standard |
alekside:The only bright side for me is that zaccala guy. For him to have broken into the team, despite his small frame, shows that his very good and they couldn't just ignore him he's one for the Future |
Barryseal:I've always known the Onyekuru to Bayern gist to be a lie, cos it's only reported by Nigerian news media. Lemme just sit down and observe |
ken6488:The civil war was an opportunity to reset, but we never used the opportunity to restructure, instead we never learnt from history and the cause of the war to make amends, but we just moved on as if it never happened, in fact the civil war issue should have been part of our educational curriculum , so that the future generations will learn from the mistakes, instead it was miraculously omitted. |
ken6488:You just proved my point. There was never a time or period after our independence that we were progressing. The currency rate have been depreciating since then and it has never looked back. |
ken6488:Was there a time Nigeria was progressing? Answer that question truthfully. Things gets bad every day, and the previous government is always better than the present. that should tell you something |
seunfly:As per the dollar hegemony part, I think the Chinese have started work on that. The first phase might be the currency swap deal with Nigeria, in which you don't need to have dollars before trading with them, just swap your currency with their Chinese Yuan |
forgiveness:I doubt it, cos na only Nigerian blogs they parade that rumour online. I will only believe it if I can see 1 or 2 online links to the rumour from international news blog |
chrisooblog:Baba it's a scam, how come no international news outlet or blog, aside Nigerian blogs carried the rumour. Same with Ighalo's transfer to Barcelona in January. it was only Nigerian news outlet and blogs that were carrying the news. I guess that is the latest method that agents are are now using to hype their players and give them face value |
elyte89:Even Senegal themselves will not be so foolish to think that Nigeria is not a strong opposition. So make una all calm down. The way People see Senegal as a strong opposition, is also the way Senegal see Nigeria . Even Too European teams will not underate the Nigerian team, let alone African teams under rating is. I'm sorry to say this, anybody coming here to say that Senegal will whitewash us, or we don't stand any chance against Senegal is a crazy fellow and he's equally stupid |
