Mikeidumokhai12:WhatsApp is digging it's own grave with the uselessness it exhibits nowadays. People that are even managing it by using GBWhatsApp are being banned, very soon , people will move away from it |
Soso990240:That is what I'm saying . He might not live up to the hype and he could live up to the hype. For a young player, it's a 50-50 thing. My point is , gambling with such huge money is what I have my reservation abt |
lazarusokafor90:financial strength. |
BascoVanVeli:FIFA ranking is a scam though. There are some European countries that won't even Match Mali, but are ranked higher than them. Most of those European countries have FA that can afford organizing friendlies every now and then,so they get to have enough points on their ranking unlike the not so bouyant ones that depend on their govt for money and only get it during major tournaments. |
komekn:@Your last paragraph We can't rely on the past youthful glories but we can rely on Ighalo's past glory of scoring 15 goals in one season at Watford, which was about 4 seasons ago. well done sir |
OhiOfIhima:I think say na only me notice am. Both teams hardly boot the ball away, even in tight spaces, they pass their way out of trouble with slick and neat passes. Africa still has a long way to go. Both male and female. Imagine Egypt that has win the Afcon 7 times can't even boast of World cup quarter finals and no African team has played the world cup semifinals let alone final, despite the talents. |
EEGA:He doesn't know wats going on. The mumu no know say the moment he's sacked , he's playing days in the team will be over. Rohr that is helping his career is the one he's fighting |
andrew444:Oh! ok. But they will bounce back though. It happens to big club once in a while. Even Barca are on a decline, Madrid had their own last season, but are now jump starting things now to get back. With the rebuilding process going on, they will bounce back in 2 or 3 seasons. |
andrew444:No think am o , in terms of money, Man utd / Madrid / Barca are always at the top. Man utd was the richest sports club in the world for like 2 or 3 years in a role, they only dropped earlier this year when the new ranking was released. So oga calm down and no talk as if Real Madrid and Barca are far far richer than Man utd . Man utd that the club owner using the money from the club to service personal debt every year, yet they still declare profit every year and have money to spend on big signings over the years. How many clubs in the world can do that |
andrew444:I just dey wonder o. Except the guy becomes the next Ronaldo or Messi, or at least an upgrade of Mbappe. Anything short of that, ATM, will loose money on his resale |
andrew444:Performance wise, you are right , but being bigger financially and in terms of fanbase, you are wrong. Athletico Madrid is not even bigger than Arsenal, let alone Chelsea. I won't mention Man utd, cos man utd is only competing with Barca and Real Madrid, in terms of fan base and financial strength. |
KidsNEXTdoor:The guy lied abt Everton though, but not Tottenham. Tottenham is bigger than Athletico Madrid |
Pepperoniq:It is the money tag that will end up putting him under that pressure. Anytime he has a bad game, the press will Lynch him, under the guise of being expensive. Even during the UEFA nations league when he didn't play well for Portugal , they are already talking, let alone now that he has a price tag on his head . Coutinho can testify to it . Unless the club can hire a personal psychologist to help him on the way , so as to settle down and do his thing |
martineverest:Not when you sign a teenager that just played his first season of professional football at that amount. The risk is higher , than if it was already established player. Trust me, it's a gamble. An equally young 18/19 year old bought for less than 1 million Euro, might blow pass him. That is just the way football is for this teenagers. You don't know how they will turn out , until the perform consistently for 3 seasons or more. |
TechCapon:There's nothing serious about Athletico Madrid as regards this transfer, They are just taking a massive gamble on that guy, hoping he lives up to the hype and gets sold for bigger price the following season or third season at most. It is a very risk business though, as the guy can equally flop and his price dropping by more than half. |
andrew444:No mind them na. Even Naija smashed Haiti in the confederation cup we played in 2013. Now Mexico struggled to beat them. it only points to one thing, which is ,teams are improving and the underdogs tag in football is reducing every year. No team wants to make up the number anymore |
andrew444:I might not like Mourinho, but don't make it look as if he doesn't give youngsters chance. The most recent one was Scott Mctominay. The guy actually became a regular squad member in Man utd, no thanks to Mourinho. Even if you can't remember anyone, have you forgotten abt our very own Mikel Obi? |
andrew444:Realistically , he had a chance in the left back position because the two guys there are injury prone and not consistent like that unlike the Midfield guys that are very consistent and don't get injured easily, except De Bruyne |
andrew444:With the kind of Midfield and foward line that Man City has for now, it will be difficult for anyone to break into the mix, whether English or no English, hyped or not. Except your are exceptionally good. A team that someone like Gabriel Jesus starts from the bench, even Leroy sane last season. Even your beloved Zinchenko knows he stood no chance with that Midfield, that is why he had to grab the full back position with both hands when the opportunity came. So calm down. ![]() |
wayodude:That is how they do, they make Guardiola look like a super human that develops every one. The man is a good coach no doubt, but attributing every player's development to him is now getting boring. The likes of Aguero, David Silva Fenandinho et al are already world class players, any good coach would have worked with them successfully. Instead of people to acknowledge the fact that these guys are potential league conquerers even before pep, they just find a way to make it look as if, it's pep that made them who they are |
TheGoodJoe:Zinchenko just did what most hungry young players will do to impress, he took his chance well when the opportunity came. if you say pep developed him, he shouldn't be playing as a defender, but he should have improved his Midfield prowess Zinchenko came into the mix simply because of the unavailability of those two guys you mentioned in that position. He was a logical choice to play that position when Mendy and Delph were not available. It's just the same way you move a Defensive Midfielder to a Center Back position when most of your available defenders are injured. Rashford came into limelight in 2016 when Man utd had most of their wingers injured, and Luis Van gaal had no choice but to bring an academy player to fill in the position, Rashford grabbed the opportunity, and the rest is history. |
TheGoodJoe:John stones has always been a very Solid Midfielder before Man City bought him, that is why Man City had to spend over 50M to get him, I'm not sure it has anything to do with pep impact. Pep is a good coach but don't make it look as if the guys playing under him we're average or amateur players before they played for him. A lot of them were big money signing, that should tell you something |
TheGoodJoe:Which kind mumu growth is that. Zinchenko was a winger/Attacking Midfielder. He was practically useless for city in that position. It was when Fabian Delph got injured that made Pep to draft him to the position because he's a natural left footer. It has nothing to do with tactical genius. It happened to Ashley young at Man utd. The guy was becoming useless, because he couldn't bench the wingers we have any longer. He became useful in the club again after being drafted to a full back position, else he won't have stayed this long in Man utd. Point is that, if Nacho doesn't make himself useful at Leicester, he will just run out his contract and they'll let him go, or sell him when an offer comes. But this coming season will be what will decide that |
solonnachi:. Rohr is not an Amateur though, the man just refused to learn from his past and present mistakes as a coach. He's to unidirectional and rigid. He's just like arsene Wenger. He's tactics is only what he believes in. whether he wins or loses , he will always stick to it |
forgiveness:This your ranking is not the current one na |
BascoVanVeli:His diving reputation made the referees to overlook even the genuine ones. Mind you , The Premier league referees will make the calls, on penalty not VAR calling back a referee to make the call, like the way FIFA is using it . So if referee doesn't award anything,VAR can't review |
I like Whatsapp, but I think this is the most irrelevant update. Why not include some features like themes, available on GBWhatsApp to the official Whatsapp , so that people will stop downloading GBWhatsApp. A lot of cool features are on GBWHATSAPP that the official Whatsapp can copy. But instead, they are updating it with this irrelevant nonsense |
afrodoc2:So far he gets the job done, nobody will care about how long it took. If he buys a player for an outrageous price, na una go still complain. The man is taking his time to get good deals, yet you are still complaining. I think the experience that Ed Woodward has gathered over the transfer window this past years has really helped him into doing proper negotiation this time around. So let's give him the benefit of doubt |
edi287:No mind the guy. Even the young guys of today can't put up CR7 numbers despite the fact that CR7 don old. It's only few if them like Mbappe and co. that can do CR7 numbers |
Earthquake3:I'm enjoying the argument between the two of you. But dude, are you kidding me. Why mention CR7, who is a 5 times balloon d'or in your argument. Are you saying he's not worth 100million even at 34? CR7 and Messi are the only players at their age that any Rich club will buy at an outrageous price, even at their age. Those two guys don't even need to kick a ball before those clubs get their money back because of their commercial value. Oga, commot CR7 from your argument , and continue the conversation with the other guy |
mostob:The only World class players among them is Modric and Rakitic, and may be Mandzukic. The rest are average at best. In paper , they are not supposed to to be in the SF sef |
Danielnino00:Issa Hayatou was right afterall. He has been pressured to move it to June but the guy resisted, sighting climate reasons. May be that was why he was booted out, and their puppet, Ahmad Ahmad was installed. Cos I noticed that the first thing the guy did as a CAF president was to move the Afcon date from January to June. Issa Hayatou may be corrupt (FIFA too also stink of corruption) but he obviously knows African football and Africa as a whole. |
