ChrisKels: And u are gonna compare the Gabonese stars of 2010-2013 to these craps that make up the Taifa stars?
Fabrice Do marcolino 20goals for Angers ligue1
Moise Apanga ligue1
Andre Poko - Bordeaux ligue1
Levy Madinda - Celta Vigo laliga
Junior Ndong - Auxerre ligue1
Eric Mouloungui - Nice ligue1
Daniel Cousin who once scored 26 goals for Lens in the ligue1
Aubemyang the best striker in the ligue1 - Ettienne
Lyod Palun - Nice ligue1
Stephane Nguema who was a forward for PSG a season before that tourney, he also was a former Rennes striker
Ecuele Manga one of the best Centre Backs in the ligue1 from 2010-14
Ekwa Ebanega - Auxerre ligue1
In Didier Ovono, they had one of the best goalkeepers in Africa then and also like many of his teams mates was plying his trade in the ligue1
So bro what took Gabon that far was individual brilliance and sheer luck bkus the squad oozed class (experienced quality players) playing at the highest level, it has little or nothing to do with Rohr's tactical prowess. In fact it was Rohr's tactical ineptitude that denied them a place in the Semis. Compare this squad to Tanzania who can only boast of Sammata in the Belgian league, then u will understand Rohr didnt do anything remarkable. In 19 games with these names in the team, Rohr could only win a paltry 8
And to that guy shouting that they beat Morroco, it was Chamakk's Morroco not Ziyech's. That Morrocan side was so poor, and player for player, they were no match for Gabon bkus Gabon paraded far better players individually. And they were not the Madagasis of 2012 thats so wrong bkus they had players, Madagascar doesn't. In fact some of our starters this year couldn't have started for that Gabonese side, at least I know that no reasonable coach would bench Auba for Ighalo or Manga of 2012 for Ekong of today Can you imagine this guy. You just decided to downplay Rohr input in the Gabon team of that year . I'm sure that the Gabon players are also individually better than the Tunisian and Morrocan players too individually Some people are going crazy everyday because of Rohr and they don't know it |

forgiveness: Rohr took Gabon to AFCON quarter finals. Rohr qualified Niger for the AFCON.
Stop giving false informations. Don't mind those people giving misinformation just to make Rohr look bad. Infact Gabon were so good in that tournament that they topped their group with 9 points ( a group that had Tunisia and Morroco) and lost narrowly in the quarter finals after extra time in Penalty shoot out to Mali The first time I heard about Aubameyang was during that particular tourney |

What makes Nigerians think that the other penalty will come and it will make it 3-2 ,dem no no say if yak score that goal the dimension of the game go change and we fit no see penalty
Most naija football fans know nothing and are confused set of people You don't know that bro. We might have won the game, we might even loose even if yakubu had taken that chance. Football is about taking chances, but if you fail to do so,the person that missed it will be the scape goat, except if the game went in our favor. the unfortunate scape goat was Yakubu. That is football for you. Higuain was the scape goat for Argentina in 2014 despite playing well in the tournament. But he'll only be remembered for those misses in the final. despite the fact that Argentina was the better side |

Bolowolowo: I doubt Nigeria will host the U-20 Women’s World Cup. The female football world often disparages Nigeria for its lack of openness to homosexual players on its team. I even recall during the coverage of the WWC, while European teams got those positive, inspiring documentary videos, Nigeria was often criticized by commentators for its LGBT laws.
I won’t be surprised if that transgendered Rapinoe and her leftist minions, speak out against the tourney hosts. Then no African countries will host FIFA tournament again niyen, aside south Africa, cos those assholes should know that almost 75-80% of African countries are not Pro-LGBT with one anti LGBT law or the other. somehow: I understand but don't think it's the right time to host. There is never a good time to host any tournament. Because ni country in the world enjoys absolute peace. There will always be one security challenge or the other. Even FIFA themselves know this. Or you think FIFA that specifically requested for Nigeria to host doesn't know about our security situation? Moreover, we are spending little money to host, as FIFA are dropping $4million upfront for the preparation. And we have stadiums that needs little touches. UYo stadium is in perfect condition and it doesn't need any repairs. The Lagos stadium is good, Abuja was rejuvenated recently during last year National sport festival, they will only do little finishing touches. |

Danielnino00: Do we have a reliable striker?
Let me remind you that Ighalo himself wasn't reliable in the national team even when he was in form at Watford .He lost his starting shirt to a younger and untested Iheanacho .Iheanacho rose to the occasion until he lost form...Ighalo was recalled to replace Iheanacho... We have Osimhen, Odey and Awoniyi...another prolific striker may emerge this season,u never know..
so to answer your question, we don't know if we have a reliable striker (as per national team form) until they are given the same kind of opportunity Iheanacho and Ighalo got .. I'm telling you bro. It's funny how Ighalo's internet foot soldiers are parading the guy as reliable, when he was never a reliable striker in the first place. SMH |

If you check the squad of these francophone countries, majority of their foreign based players were either born in France or played there.. such isn't the case with anglophone countries like Nigeria and Ghana.. Yes you are 100% right about this. Even to the extent that the foreign reserve of those Francophone wear African countries is i. the French currency and central banks. It's one of the reasons that ECOWAS are finding it difficult to implement the common currency stuff because of the Francophone countries |

PDPGuy: Congrats to the Algerians for a well-deserved trophy. They were truly the best organised team at the AFCON.
By the way, I think the reason why the "golden generations" of Ghana, CIV and Senegal have largely failed to shine in the World cup and AFCON in this century (barring CIV's feat in 2015) is the nature of their midfields. The midfields of these three teams comprises only box-box players and defensive midfielders. None of them had a midfield orchestrator in the mold of a Debruyne, Pirlo, Xavi, Xabi Alonso, Mikel, Okocha, Oliseh, Riquelme etc.
Midfield orchestrators/deep-lying playmakers are important especially in really tight games. These kinds of players have the ability to unlock stubborn defenses with one key pass. Most times, when creativity was needed, there was nobody that took the mantle for the aforementioned teams. But CIV had Yaya Toure that can do all this things even better than our very own Mikel na, yet they didn't win it with their golden generation of Drogba And co. Those teams were not just luck, it has nothing to do with their Midfield. Because those teams played the finals multiple times but they just miraculous loose either by a fluke one goal margin, like We saw Senegal yesterday , or they loose on penalty shoot out just like Ghana and CIV in the past. So luck was the element they lacked, not a midfield orchestrator like you implied |

Well I wanted to sugar coat him na He's the Shaun wright Phillips and Theo Walcott category of player with Only speed but little football sense, but they show few moments of usefulness when their speed becomes useful, like in the world cup. But overall their lack of technique and football sense usually be their undoing |
