TalabiAudu: I haven't started watching football fully during this time but can someone explain to me, how the FUÇK did conceding only 15 goals all season happened?? Cech, Terry, Carvalho, Gallas, Geremi, Makelelel etc did the trick. We easily, as in comfortably, won games 1-0 then. |

Roland17: Baba, to be honest e shock me say you don personalize my comment because I said them with no intention of ridiculing you. My thoughts were stated to counter some of the inconsistencies with the posts I have been reading regarding Lampard in comparison to other coaches including younger coaches. You are not the only one arguing for Lampard and that is why I said the same set, not the same person, do you see the difference?
No be fight abeg..that was not my intention. Abeg no vess..no be my agitattion.. We good bro. You made that comment just after my analysis of Klopp's early days at Liverpool AND my defence of Lampard against Arteta, so why shouldn't I feel the comment was directed towards me? Like I said, we good. Nothing do us. |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread: Club World Cup Champions 2025-2029 by timbros(m): 1:59pm On Oct 02, 2020 |
Roland17: Una funny sha! Folks are comparing the number of years and spending it took before Klopp became successful with Liverpool forgetting Klopp was already heralded as one of the more intelligent coaches in Europe and was relatively successful with BVB. Ironically, the same set seeking to protect Lampard are excusing him when compared to Arteta because the latter spent 3 years learning.. Which one is it? Is it the spending or the apprenticeship? If Lampard remains with Chelsea for 4 years and spends as much as Klopp will he be as successful as Klopp? Or will he be excused because he did not spend 3 years as an assistant under Cruyff? Even Avram Grant did not get this much freedom and protection..Na Una problem sha! There is a genuine reason to be agitated about Chelsea under Lampard this season. Mention me next time when you want to counter my view instead of throwing subtle shades. We no get issue before. I never said Lampard will be exactly as successful as Klopp if given the exact length of time Klopp got. Klopp is just an example to show that patience pays. If Liverpool sacked him after a season or two, will they be the force they are right now? Most likely not. My point? Give Lampard time.Arteta had a good coaching foundation (3 years working under Pep) and inherited an Arsenal team with their best player/talisman intact. Lampard has just one season as a coach in the championship under his belt and inherited a Chelsea team who lost their best player and are on a transfer ban. Who among this two is most likely to start his coaching career well? Your guess is as good as mine. My point? Give Lampard time.I don't see any contradiction in any of my line of argument that warrant this your "ironically, the same set" line... And thank you for acknowledging that it's our problem, not yours. Or, is it your agigated? |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread: Club World Cup Champions 2025-2029 by timbros(m): 8:09am On Oct 02, 2020 |
Liverpool signed Klopp on 2015 and he ended 8th position in the table (Liverpool finished 6th the previous season). Was he sacked? No. The club showed faith in him by extending his contract 6 years the very next year.
4 years, 20 something signings and 3 Cup defeats later, Liverpool is the World, Europe and England champion...
I'm very sure there must have been a section of impatient Liverpool fans singing #KloppOut by the end of 15/16 season when they finished 8th position. Those very fans by now will be singing Klopps praise.
Lampard ended his first season in 4th position. We are just 3 matches into the new season. Why the impatience?
With new personnel coming in and with injuries here and there, why won't he experiment with his lineup? Whether you guys like it or not, Lampard will continue tinkering with his squad and formation till injuries and/or suspension allow him settle on what he wants.
In a season practically without preseason, and with new signings, how do you expect Lampard to just come up with ONE ideal starting lineup just like that? I mean, is it even possible?
You all can continue with your #LampardOut movement but the reality is that Lampard is here to stay. Signing a rookie in the first place shows that Chelsea is looking at the long term. Our signings are players in their early 20s who can play together for 7 to 10 years. The club is clearly looking to the future.
And if Roman suddenly decides to fire Lampard and hire another coach, believe me, the cycle will start all over again. The new coach will bring in his own signings and style of play. After a season, another movement of #HimOut will start. He will be sacked and the cycle will continue.....

Na soso learning he dey learn for over a year now. Wise up or go back to the Championship How is Arteta and Lampard mates? Did Lampard get such foundation as a coach? Make una try to dey limit the kind nonsense wey una dey type here na... |

Godx: Psg will 100% top their group. It's between United and lepizig to battle for 2nd. Slight edge to United because Lepizig have not replaced Werner and his goals. On paper you're probably correct. But Man Utd might spring surprises. |

Mam Utd is capable of surprising everyone to qualify or even win their group.
We all saw the way PSG bottled their last fixture. And Leipzig might not repeat the feat of last season. Remember Ajax 18/19 vs Ajax 19/20.
Man Utd will qualify from the group. |
