Practice good maintenance; to be carried out by knowledgeable mechanic. Note every light on your dashboard to understand what they mean. Have up to date vehicle documents: vehicle license, road worthiness cert and its back up, proof of ownership, insurance certificate and your driver's license at all times. Spare tyre, Jack, Jack wrench, wheel Spanner, caution sign, fire extinguisher, rag. Contact a mechanic anytime you notice unusual handling or sound. Check oil and coolant (radiator water) level daily and take note of your tyre pressure. By the way, stating car model will help other users give you peculiarities of the car. |

praxisnetworks: Okay. Apologies accepted. I know you were trying to assist the owner. But in future please declare all that has to do with your products upfront. Happy sales. You can never et your cake and have it. The pictures posted by seller were when the car first came into the country and it's RHD also it's obvious he cropped out number plates and bumpers in the pictures *Red flag* praxisnetworks: Hmmm maybe..maybe not. I spent less than ten minutes in Ibadan ....to tell you how disappointed I was. And the seller was trying to get my mechanic to influence me.....is all kinds of distasteful. You should have stated here that you met with the owner during the inspection and not the person who advertised the car here. praxisnetworks: Well I was very reluctant to create this thread. But just felt it's necessary to...so others can be aware and take precautions .... But you didn't place a call to the middleman to tell him your outright displeasure before creating the topic. praxisnetworks: You understand. I inquired about a car he advertised here and he answered that all was well. I specifically asked why the car was being sold at a low price.... I called to know if anything was really wrong with the vehicle. He still insisted all was well. So I came down to Ibadan.. crossing several States only for me to meet a very badly mutilated vehicle... Extremely mutilated that even Gazzuzz will retire if taken to his shop... Broken bumpers rough interiors... I was extremely disappointed. And to top it all the seller attempted cajoling my technician to help convince me to buy... My grouse with bigdeals is that he did not tell me about the mutilation... He was selective about the information he revealed and consequently did a misrepresentation of the facts. Costing me time, road risks and money wasted. You went to Ibadan from Ado-Ekiti. You crossed only one state- Osun. At worst you cross Osun and Ondo if you take a longer route. Coincidentally Gazzuzz is handling a worse vehicle atm. Check link: https://www.nairaland.com/3864550/vehicle-2009-honda-accord-ex-l#57566926This topic sounds more like you are seeking a pity party/ trying to share a tale of how smart you are and escaped from a bad deal which alot of people did from the comfort of their homes by due diligence in checking out the pictures and not being blinded by the low price. By the way, you have been searching for a car to buy since last year and prone to scammers due to your desperation and low price evident in the post you offered a person 60k for Honda Accord is 1993 (aka Hala). I'm NOT IN SUPPORT of the seller, but person wey find anyhow go see anyhow. Good luck. |

Oil change should be calculated based on distance covered and time. Since your distance has increased note the increase and that will shorten the change interval. Your suspension parts (shock absorbers, Stabiliser linkages...) and body will bear the brunt due to greater level of vibration. |

I think the buyer was very pumped and feeling like he or she won the lottery but had the bubbles deflated on seeing the car isn't as great as anticipated. You know the kind of situation you dream of something in your sleep and boast to the crew on the way to see product, then you meet something not so great. Pele ehn. Better luck next time and never raise your hopes too high till you physically inspect, because: "If it smells like a fish, tastes like a fish, then it is a ____" |

Car Talk › Re: Please What Is Wrong With V6 Engine? by timifakay(m): 9:22pm On Jun 14, 2017 |
V6 means likely 1. Bigger engine size and weight 2. Higher engine oil volume when servicing 3. Greater fuel consumption 4. Higher torque and acceleration (higher chance of collision if driving skill isn't perfect) 5. More engine parts (2 top gaskets, 2 valve cover seals 4 O2 sensors, 2 catalytic converters...) 6. Bigger fuel pump...
The mechanic gave you candid advice. |

Bad belle... Se u will coman tutor me? Hahaha... Open field doesn't build confidence only makes you get used to position of things (steering, gear lever and pedals) it's on road experience that builds driving skill. If it's to fix a car I'll be interested; but to tutor how to drive? I'll pass. |

kenny1911: Please, gear box technician guru, i need an urgent assistance before taking the next step on my car. Its a Toyota Camry 2009 model, 4 plugs
This morning (Wednesday) as i was going to work, my check engine light started flashing and thereafter my gear refused to accelerate. i switched off the engine and started the car again and continue my journey to the office with any problem.
Meanwhile, my Check engine light is on, the PRND occasional flashes and the instrument gauges is also not working fine but occasionally normalizes.
i got the car scanned and the following codes popped up 1. P0798 2. P0986
i checked the level of the gear oil and it seemed to be gauged and clean
I then called a gear box technician and he said it the valve body and it needs to be changed.
Please, what could be the problem and possible solution to these problems.
I am in Abuja and need expert advise.
i called a gear box technician and he told me it has to do with the valve body and it need to be changed

If the water drops outside the car, on the floor you have nothing to worry about. This is from the capper that condenses on the evaporator and it is flowing out through the drain pipe designed for that purpose. |
Business › Re: If You Are Uber Partner In Lagos, Please Share Your Experience Here by timifakay(m): 9:47am On Jun 04, 2017 |
OlugbengaE: Lol oga leave me. The koko is we should off our AC when we drive through water. If you switch AC off just before entering water atleast one fan will be running while driving through the pool, therefore fan will still splash water, but the AC clutch would have disengaged, so water or sediments will be able to get in between the compressor coil, Pulley / bearing and clutch which drive the compressor. Meanwhile, if compressor is left to run this wont happen. It's best to have every possible part of the engine running to minimize for how long water settles there because the motion will cause vibrations which prevents settling and penetration. The compressor is a sealed unit so water should never penetrate into a perfect compressor. |
