Christianity EtcRe: How Dyu Explain This Physcally? by timmy2409(m): 9:01pm On Dec 14, 2014
asalimpo:
This is an explanation,i'd like to broker.

The men got supernatural powers, that opened their eyes to know who had money (spirit eyes).
There's a demonic object they use e.g a ring, powder etc tht wen it touches the target item would transfer it ,again supernaturally, to the groups hide out.
The demon/devil behind the spiritual dynamics will then cause the victims original purse to b filled with pads (paper etc). All done with spiritual objects.
This is stealing but cant b proved physically because d physcal world doesnt believe in spirits.

This is d means used to steal laptops, cash etc.
Wen the syndicate get back to their hideout the original item will b there.
Hmmm let me see. What are the chances that a man walking out of a bank with a bag hanging around his neck is carrying some money?

Why did they need the prolonged diversion of the door to occupy his attention? And why did ALL of them try to 'help' with said door, giving them the opportunity to lean across him? (Hint: It's called misdirection. Did you watch those videos I posted?)

Like a lot of Nigerians, you seem to be logical in most areas of your life except when it comes to the supernatural. Frankly, y'all need to stop thinking like babies.

How does some1 switch a large sum of money with d alert owner not noticing it and doind so swiftly?

There's no logic for this.
Thieves, pickpockets and magicians have known how to do this for ages. This is basically their bread and butter. From something as simple as the Three Card Monte to David Copperfield's various elaborate concoctions, you'd be surprised how easy it is to trick the brain.
Since he's been brought up already on this thread, I guess I'll just use Apollo Robins

Very interesting article.

This caught my attention:

Recently, at a forum in Baltimore, he shared a stage with the psychologist Daniel Kahneman—who won a Nobel Prize for his work in behavioral economics—and the two had a long discussion about so-called “inattentional blindness,” the phenomenon of focussing so intently on a single task that one fails to notice things in plain sight.
The bold reminds me of those "Test your awareness" videos

It really is easy to miss everything else while you're fixated on a single task.

It says on the order history page that you guys received my package in China on Monday. I chose the express shipping option, but haven't gotten any more notifications from your end since.

It's my first time using your service, so I wanted to know if there was something I needed to do to push the process. If not, do you have any idea when the package will be shipping out?

One could simply ask God a question anytime.
Obviously you've never experienced the Holy Spirit.

Christianity EtcRe: The Reason Why Freewill Argument Fails To Explain Evil. by timmy2409(m): 2:22am On Dec 03, 2014
Another obvious flaw of the freewill argument is that a bulk of the evil that exists in the world is NOT a direct result of any malicious human actions whatsoever.

Diseases and natural disasters affect the lives of humans independent of our respective 'free wills'.
Christianity EtcRe: What Name Should I Give My Baby? by timmy2409(m): 11:01am On Dec 02, 2014
SAMAEL (סמאל): In Jewish mythology, this is the name of an archangel, a fallen angel, the Angel of Death or Poison, the accuser, seducer, and destroyer famously known as The Grim Reaper. He is said to be both good and evil, having been one of the heavenly host. He rules over seven habitations called Sheba Ha-yechaloth, infernal realms of the Earth. The Talmud states: "the evil Spirit, Satan, and Sama'el the Angel of Death, are the same"

SETH (Σεθ): Greek form of Egyptian 'Set', possibly meaning "one who dazzles." In mythology, this is the name of an ancient evil god of Chaos, storms, and the desert, who slew Osiris.

BEOWULF would be really cool too if you could get away with that

^^ Good advice right there. Seriously. You can find a lot more information about rebooting here (http://yourbrainonporn.com/reboot_your_brain).

It takes a lot of hard work, and no amount of "God save me" will do it. Might even make you worse, really. Knowing that you can just get 'forgiven' every time you jack off, would probably make you a repeat offender

The real harm in p0rn use is that it can get addictive, depending on your personality and frequency of consumption, and could rewire your brain away from real sex. Some people have found their tastes morphing to crazier sexual themes (transgendered, tranny, bestiality etc), as they constantly need more and more shock to be stimulated. Note though that the harm is heavy p0rn use, not jacking off.

Read more on it. Free yourself and f.uck real girls.

Christianity EtcRe: A Reasonable Quote Atheist Should Think About by timmy2409(m): 7:58am On Dec 01, 2014
ayoku777:
This is another quote I love:

"The christian is quite free to believe that there is considerable amount of settled order and inevitable development in the universe. But the materialist is not allowed to admit into his spotless machine the slightest speck of spiritualism or miracle." -G.K. Chesterton

Athiests love to claim religious people are the closed-minded. But if you study it, we are the ones free and allowed to believe in both God and science.

Infact, christians believe God is the ultimate scientist; and true science is the study of His creation and the laws He put in place to order them.

But an athiest, can't afford to include any sense of divinity or theory of spirituality in his explanation of anything. Even things he can't explain.

Yet they claim, we are the narrow-minded and they are the free-thinkers.

I remember, a documentary I watched on TV, about how scientists discovered unputrefied blood in the marrows of the bones of a dinosaur.

They immediately theorized and postulated that; "Maybe blood in marrows takes much longer to putrefy than originally thought."

Another scientist postulated that; Or maybe dinosaurs didn't live millions of years ago as we believed. Maybe they lived thousands of years ago as the Holy book claimed.

That theory was thrown out, immediately.

You can't claim to be a free-thinker, when you are not free to include divinity and spirituality in your possible theories and case scenarios; especially for things you can't explain yet
LOL how laughable!

So for anything we cannot explain yet, we just fill it in with supernatural theories, huh?

I'm sure it was like this back in the day

Why does it rain? God is taking a piss
Why does lightning strike? God is angry with us
Why is the Yangtze River red all of a sudden? God just had his period

And this is ignoring the fact that you are yet to provide a single shred evidence for the existence of this "divinity or spirituality". Would you like to start now?

Correct. Just from eyeballing this chart, Pascal's Wager has a 90%-ish chance of earning you eternal torment. And it doesn't account for a myriad of other fringe religions.

Leave it to Christians to turn a blind eye to the point being made.

God killed 42 teenagers for calling a prophet bald (which he was, presumably)
God killed a guy for not impregnating his brother's wife
God promises to make people eat the flesh of their own children
God allows a man to sacrifice his child as a burnt offering to him
God promises to smash babies' heads against rocks
God perpetually punishes multiple people for the perceived sins of a single person
God sanctions the killing of millions (possibly billions) throughout the entire bible for no justifiable reason today
God promises to mete out eternal torment on you for not believing the stories of his son

But he loves you!

And these are the stories you all gladly tell your children embarassed
Christianity EtcRe: 14 Bible Verses That Indicate Jesus Is Not God by timmy2409(m): 4:00am On Dec 01, 2014
ayoku777:
Very typical of people, to disprove things with smug mockery without scriptures to back it up.

Psalm 45v6-7 -Thy throne, O GOD, is for ever and ever: the sceptre of thy kingdom is a right. Thou lovest righteousness, and hatest wickedness: therefore GOD, THY GOD, hath anointed with the oil of gladness above thy fellows.

John 14v28 -For THE FATHER IS GREATER THAN I

John 20v17b -But go to my brethren, and say unto them, I ascend unto my Father, and your Father; and to MY GOD, and your God.

1Cor 15v28 And when all things shall be subdued unto Him, then shall THE SON ALSO HIMSELF BE SUBJECT TO HIM that put all things under Him, that God may be all in all.

I've given you four scriptures to show that Jesus is God but He is not the Father's equal, not now after His ascension and glorification, and not later when all things are subdued unto Him.

Smug remarks don't carry weight in spiritual debate, at least not among those sincerely looking for truth -only the scriptures do.
1. Jesus is God (1 John 5: 7-8 )
2. Jesus is less than God (OP's multiple verses)

How are these two statements reconcilable, please? Like I said, unless you're claiming that Jesus is a sort of lesser 'god', then this just doesn't work. Jesus cannot be the same as the alleged supreme creator, and then still be a lesser being. Admit the bible contradicts itself and move on.

TheTerrible:
don't you think that's incredulous? The rib God took from Adam was actually a 'manhood' bone?!
Haba! Just imagine if you had a bone in that part of your body, alright it will help immensely in love-making but you will also deduce that if there was a bone in your manhood that it will still be as rigid as it was before, during and after love making thereby inconveniencing the man greatly.

IMHO some peoples joystick will get so hard that it will break the bone causing collateral damage!
In a lot of the animals that have it, the member protrudes when the animal is aroused. Otherwise it's retracted into the body. This takes care of the inconvenience of constant rigidity.

Also, the good thing about a bone is that you can put it in a cast if you break it. Unfortunately the same can't be said of our current human joysticks, which can actually fracture BTW.

That is what I am saying Jesus is God, and the Father is God.

But note that the Father is called "THY GOD" to Jesus. Meaning the Father is GOD to Jesus even though Jesus is also God. Meaning Jesus is God, but the Father is HIS GOD too

John 20v17b -go tell my brethren, and say unto them, I ascend unto my Father and your Father; and to MY GOD, and your God.

That explains why the Father is called THE MOST HIGH GOD.

That would mean two Gods of which the Father is the Most high.
Omo see mental gymnastics. Jesus is God, but also lesser than God. Ergo Jesus is lesser than himself?

Unless you are saying Jesus is the Thor to God's Odin, in which case, carry on I guess.
Christianity EtcRe: Something You Never Thought About: Adam And Eve Had No Belly Buttons! by timmy2409(m): 10:28pm On Nov 30, 2014
LOL I recall a riddle about this from when I was younger

Q: How do you recognize Adam & Eve among a thousand naked couples?

A: They're the couple with no belly buttons!

Along the same lines of thought, there was an interesting question on here sometime ago about how many chromosomes Adam & Eve would have, seeing as humans need two parents to contribute half of each chromosome pair.

Also interesting theory: Adam's rib was actually a penis bone. The majority of male mammals possess a baculum, or penis bone, and that includes all of our closest primate relatives. Why human males lack an enboned penis and have to rely on b0ner-fluid-hydraulics instead is something of a mystery ... unless you read Genesis, that is. According to this paper, perhaps it's because our menfolk lost their literal boners in the Garden of Eden. Apparently, the Hebrew word tzela, translated in the Genesis story as "rib," can also be read as "supporting structure."

EDIT: Seriously this nairaland sensor police is annoying. Joystick, situation, unclad.. Are we kids? What the actual f.uck?

Hahahaha what a thread

Life is a carousel of constant fear and cynicism for most Nigerian Christians. Which is kind of funny seeing as they supposedly have this all-powerful god on their side.

I remember growing up as a member of Mountain of fire, and 80% of their prayers would be about cockroaches that fly around at night. People would regularly give testimonies about how they saw a bug or rat in their room, and how it was a demon from some member of their extended family. Constantly hearing such stories can take its toll on the mind of a child, and it did on me. I remember once when a roach walked over my leg, and I began to 'cast and bind' it grin grin. Silly nonsense

You don't seem to get the obvious point being made.

Is his god's will for his life different from your god's will for his life? Isn't it the Christian idea that God knows the outcome of all events, and that he has plans for everyone? "Is there anything that happens and God has not done it?"

You're making it seem like the contracts for a person's destiny are passed from one god to the other when a person switches allegiance.

Moreover, Christians don't live longer lives than non-Christians, so what makes you think switching to your god will somehow save him from death? Abi you no go die?
