Mr Seun is referring to Islam, but too scared to call it by name.

[b]
Islam is not against poetry, infact I have friends in Turkey, Iran and Saudi Arabia who are great poets one of them even teaches in a college at Istanbul.

Last year I read a poem by one dude from Damascus (unfortunately he was killed this year by ISIS fighters in Syria) and it was dope! I don't think Islam forbids poetry or critical writing.

Someone mentioned (Plaetton) here that the Judeo- Christian are against poetry even though he didn't explain just like the way I wanted Seun to explain why a religion would be against such a marvellous thing that speaks the voice of one's heart, but I have taken it upon myself to research on it.

On one of the poetry forums I belong to, the Muslim are amongst the best poet, need I say the Indians and Pakistanis are arguably better poet's than the Englishman. I guess that explains why their songs, movies and culture revolves around it while the Pakistanis are just superb in their delivery.

Even Maclatunji loves poetry even though he's too shy to write for us to read. grin

Cases of child rape did not start today.

Imagine a 3 year old getting raped at such age and the perpetrator is probably walking around free.

The National Assembly should as soon as possible draft in a law punishable for rapist. Or must we bribe them to do it?

Stop fearing the North.

Reprisal attack or not, the igbos will stand up against them. That's for sure.

No one is scared of the North.

We just don't want more blood shed judging from history in the region.
PoliticsRe: Hausas Clash With Igbos In Akowa, Imo State - Graphic Photos by timpaker(m): 10:58pm On Aug 12, 2016
I fear a reprisal very soon.

The value of human breath means nothing to Nigerians again.

Two wrongs don't make a right.

I just hope the north will take this news in civility and not take laws into their hands (though otherwise).

Hypocrisy is when NEPA Bill Presido and Shettima put their pictures on IDP rice and nobody is making a fuss about it but you make noise about Anambra Rice. At least, Obiano did not use the rice in exchange of votes during campaign so learn to keep quiet!

Calm down bro. We ain't fighting. Just thinking out loud.

That Anambra rice would not last cos it glorify the Governor more than the state

Imagine the dude always putting his pix on every stuff in the State.

Last year I visited Awka Government House and to my surprise I saw about 55% of the staff wearing clothes that has his picture on, as if that wasn't enough, I also saw an inscription "Willie is working" on a flyover.

The fact is he personalises every of his achievements like a super celebrity. cheesy

I haven't forgotten the birthday special too. Have you? grin
Heheheheeheh. @Abuja Mindset.

I thought my Mushin blood would help me. embarassed

Since we both owe ourselves then we should just apply one of the accounting principle known as 'Bad debt' and write them off. undecided

I promise to be true
To give my heart to you
No matter what they say
This heart belongs to you

I've made a lot of vows
Forgive you and me
Forever is just the start
Forever is you and me.
Song sang by who?

Timi Dakolo? And I have not heard it? huh

Here.
I've found you like the shy star on hazy eyes.
The electrifying sparkles greeting my face
With swollen cheek of laughter
And an explosion of happiness.
My breathe renewed its acquaintance with life
And my heartbeat deafening the sound of sadness.

I bought myself a smile with my own coin,
It is gold when I part my lips, my friends share my luxury;
No, they are my coins that enriches my smile.
Here, I've found those who drill the dimples I have,
They brighten me up and swam my sea of joy,
Together, our teeth glow with pride
Making the jealous sun go to sleep.

Here,
I'm likely blessed overly.
Goose-pimple peace, frooze me still, love at ease,
I ain't going no where, love has found me;
It is in my heartbeat.
just like the clock, love makes my heart tick and tock.

I find your write-up confusing. Your topic is totally misleading though. The poem you wrote would have looked better if you had arranged it properly.

I think he wrote in light poetry and probably typed from a phone.

[b]WHEN ITS SNOWING IN MUSHIN

Seventy nine year old Baba Kayode has seen it all.
“Ah! Sango must hear this… someone must have stolen his fireball”
A strident pensioner from Ijebu-Ode heart palpitates with a cry.
Highly goose bumped; he bolts from the blue through and stuck on his window,
Wondering if the world has ended and how ice-flakes fell from the sky
He wouldn’t dare let his feeble feet feel the ice-cold ground
So he begged his ancestors to show him the lighted tunnel to stroll by.

Our Landlord deafened by the muteness of its tenants,
The house needs a hearth for its new found winter.
Of course the facility is a privilege as rent would rise and now include
Leather jackets; whether the weather impairs the shelter
Or not, bitter or sweet, tenants shouldn’t bury itself in cotton sheets
Its health is the wealth of the landlord – who collects rent with banter.
***********************************************************

It was daytime and the morning dew seems to have lost its showers.
Mama's Lantern had been frozen by the talking breeze
As its fire shied away from our sight and went to sleep,
And our matchbox suddenly catches pneumonia from last night tease.
Mama ran to us with a box of cloths, wrapping us like 'drumstick Sharwamas',
Lanky Nsirim, now chubby was cold and won't stop with the sneezes.
***********************************************************************

Aunty Theresa, our neighbour would have hugged a fire
If she had seen one, her shivers betrays the bewildering stories of Australia
She had told us when she first moved in, she's a lair!
I caught her sucking on the flakes on her door knob,
While she tries to place a signboard outside the house....
"BLOCKS FOR SALE"!.... on a pensile wire.

Odion's father now has a new reason to drown in local gins.
Papa's 1956 cigar pipe became his latest toy,
He looked at the high heaven as if he'd melt the sky with his puffs
Only to be told by Odion's father that God is punishing us for our sins.
A comment which was brushed aside
By Papa's strange grin.
********************************************************************

Tolani walked into our building like a penguin
Fully engrossed with her breath vapors and steams,
Her mother also wrapped her like a punching bag.
It was her who woke Baba Kayode with her scream
When it was reported that she couldn't breath
Properly like she was choking in the heaven of her dream.
*******************************************************************
Outside, Muhammad and Chike in their childishness
Put a handful of snowball in their mouths
Searching for an ice cream flavour, Hmmm.... tasteless!
Canals turns into community playground, smells of frozen water
Swam the air, Children on slates skiing in frozen gutter.
Me,...at my meekest time, showing the day my tiredness.
