This is just sad. Can we not seek for good governance instead of continually bickering about religion this, religion that? First, it was the Muslim vs Muslim or Christian vs Christian saga. Now it is denomination saga, smh. Soon it may turn to skin complexion saga. God help this nation.

Thank God for life. The incident happened in my presence. The unfortunate thing is people were going about their various businesses when suddenly there was a commotion and a battle among the plain clothed and uniformed policemen started. The plain cloth men were wrestling to disarm the uniformed men shouting "we are police here is our identification". Guns were up ready to be shot. People around had to run away. It was not funny. I feel situation could have been better handled. The main cause of the struggle is unknown to me because I had to take cover so as not to be a victim of strait bullet.
Health / Re: Controversy: Caesarian Section, The Rule Or Option? by tiptess(f): 6:09pm On May 24, 2013
It's truly the joy of most women to deliver their babies via normal delivery.

I have tasted both worlds; normal and CS. If I have to make a choice again it will be normal delivery because I would rather go through labour pains for a few hours, have the baby and be free to carry out any activity I so desire afterwards than to go through the after pains of CS where you have to be very cautious of everything you do till you heal. The afterpain to me is not worth it.

From my point of view, its better to go through the pains and see the result (baby) than have the baby and start feeling pains. However, if there are health risks involved, then its not a shame to go through CS to ensure that both mother and child are fine.

@op. i am truly sorry about your situation. being in the pregnant state is not an easy fit, not with its aches and pains, it gets tougher when you find it hard to change positions espcially when in a lying position not to talk of having a man, with whom the pregnancy came to be, decide u must have the strength of a lion at all times, smh.

please men, learn to appreciate, care, understand and lend that helping hand when the need arises especially when your wife is pregnant. what happened to all the promises of i love you and will always be there for you.

@op, may the lord grant you safe delivery and may he be your strength. like you said, endeavour to make yourself happy. look forward to holding your baby its one of the best feelings in the world. am sure that by the time the baby is here, he will be literally drooling over the baby. cease one of those times to express how you feel about his behaviour. i wish you the best.

Health / Genetically Modified Babies by tiptess(f): 3:41pm On Jul 02, 2012
In a developing story, the Daily Mail is now reporting that the very first (admitted) group of genetically modified babies have been ‘created’ in the United States. The scientists involved reportedly announced the result on the night of June 27th, stating that 30 babies were born using genetic modification techniques. Furthermore, 2 of the babies tested were found to contain genes from a total of 3 different parents. The experiment also lasted over 3 years or more according to the researchers, which may be one of many.
The ‘GM babies’ were born into women who had trouble conceiving their own children. In order to ‘birth’ the babies, extra genes from a female donor were inserted into the women’s eggs before they were fertilized. After conception, scientists fingerprinted 2 of the one-year-old children and confirmed that they inherited DNA from 3 adults — one man and 2 women. What this means is that due to inheriting these extra genes through the genetic modification process, they will now be able to pass them along to their offspring. In other words, these genetically modified babies — if allowed to mate with non-GM humans — could potentially alter the very genetic coding of generations to come.
Genetecists state that this genetic modification method may one day be used to create babies “with extra, desired characteristics such as strength or high intelligence.”
The news comes after it was previously reported by British scientists that scientists were creating human-animal ‘monsters’. Such reports highlight the fact that rampant genetic experimentation is already taking place on many humans around the world, which has led a large number of scientists to call for new rules regarding the outlandish practice. Chinese scientists have already admittedly inserted human stem cells into goat fetuses, and United States researchers have actively researched the concept of engineering a mouse with human brain cells.
Many experts are now speaking out against the announcement, including leading fertility experts and major organizations. John Smeaton, national director of the Society for the Protection of Unborn Children, said:
It is a further and very worrying step down the wrong road for humanity. http://www.prisonplanet.com/world%E2%80%99s-first-genetically-modified-babies-%E2%80%98created%E2%80%99-in-us.html
Jobs/Vacancies / Re: List Of Fake Employment Companies. Stay Off Them. by tiptess(f): 12:21pm On Jun 20, 2012
EBT is a scam. I am surprised that they are still in existence. My friend was scammed some years back by that company. Though I sent in applications to them at the time, am glad I didn't receive their invitation to write a test, maybe I would have fallen for their trick. One day, that company will scam someone who will not take it lying low and they would be seriously dealt with. Unsuspecting corp members and job seekers are their target.

Family / Re: My Wife Just Doesn't Want To Bond And Grow With Me by tiptess(f): 2:02pm On Sep 16, 2011
One thing you should bear in mind is that it takes two to tango. All you have done is, 'there is no good thing about your wife and you are the perfect man for probably any woman'. However, your wife's present character isn't helpful i must admit. It is marrriage. You need to help her grow. A lot has been said about your not spending time before getting married. You should also know that no matter how long you spend getting to know each other before marriage, marriage is always different because things change. You will notice somethings you probably didn't see before or which you didn't pay much attention to or that which you loved about your partner before marriage but you realise that it isn't good as a long term character. If the love is there however, you will move on.

Another factor to your wife's attitude may be the issue of childlessness at the moment. This may be a major reason why she is alone and eating herself up. She probabaly wants the best for you -give you a child- and is facing challenges at the moment.

It's up to you to make the situation change. Try to understand her as well as try to put yourself in her shoes. Befriend her all over. One thing i know is women loved to be treated right and loved. Communicate, its important. You cannot say how many things she may be holding against you too.

As per the issue of your bedroom matters. I must say that you have not touched her right because if you do, she will reach the top and any animosity for that period will be put aside. Make her look towards it. You might never tell if she secretly yearns for you but because she feels it's not the place of a woman to make the move, she keeps quit and ends up nagging at you. Her nagging and telling you to cook may be a message that she is not happy about something and you happen not to notice. I think she is old fashioned, you need to draw her out. Make her smile regularly. Be her friend for now, then you can have other friends
later.

I wish you luck.

On a 2nd look, i think if we keep an open mind and together try to fight stigmitization, it just might be a major step. I sincerely hope it works in our nation. @ Eziachi:
How can you not see any problem there? you are a Nigerian, where the president is the begining and end of all thing governance. But the rest of the civilized world is a bit different from your typical Naija mindset.

why shld there be a problem most especially as the US government visiting our country choose not to inform us about her itinerary how then do we welcome her when we just dn't know her movement in our home. so bros, leave story and lets arrange our nation.
Politics / Re: Hilary Clinton Gets Cold Reception From The Federal Government. by tiptess(f): 4:24pm On Aug 12, 2009
for me, i don't see what the problem is. She is not the President and so why is there a fuss about some one going over to welcome her. If we keep talking about this negatively we are only arming the US with weapons to further downgrade us. I won't be surprised if some Nigerian officials are not welcomed in the US just like Clinton wasn't. Pls, lets not forget that though we are still thriving to get truly independent, we are independent. just like someone said, its a diplomatic issue. I am sure she found her way around and was welcomed and warmly received at whatever venue she was going to. Pls, let us stand head raised. US cannot make our nation better, we as individuals first must do our best which does not include widening this issue. We also need focus on getting leaders who will take us to the promised land.

How to Recognize VIRGO Tongue

Source http://mizian.com.ne/englishwiz/library/names/zodiac/virgo.htm

Virgo is the sign of the virgin, but you can't take the symbolism too literally. I can assure you that a September birthday is no guarantee of virginity. Although lots of Virgos remain bachelors and spinsters, there are also plenty who finally settle into connubial bliss. They may not do so with any sudden burst of fire and passion, because marriage is not a natural state for the Virginian nature; yet it's surprising how many of them master its teamwork, and they're almost always devoted to their families.

Married or single, it's fairly simple to spot the Virgo in public. For one thing, he won't be making much noise. He's not exactly garrulous, and he'll stand out as a loner. See that gentle, attractive man over there in the comer, with the thesaurus under his arm? The one with the tick-tock mind, clicking away the hours neatly and methodically noticing the smallest details? If you look closely, you can almost see him measuring each minute for what it's worth. He's a Virgo. See that quiet girl with the beautiful, soft eyes, waiting for the bus? Notice her spick-and-span white gloves, her cool manner. She'll have the exact coins for the fare ready in her hand. She wouldn't dream of asking the bus driver to change a five dollar bill. She's a Virgo.

Social gatherings are not the best hunting grounds when you're searching for these perfectionists. You're more likely to find them working late at the office than being gregarious at a cocktail party. It's not easy for Virgos to relax sufficiently to enjoy the carefree social swim, because they're basically uncomfortable in crowds. They sometimes make attempts to follow the party routine, through pure frustration, but duty whistles too insistently to allow for much frivolity. Sometimes, Virgo can make Capricorn look like a good-time Harry, and that's really going some. You'll seldom see them blowing bubbles in the air or building castles in the sand. Virgos are too busy to daydream, and they're usually too tired at night to wish on stars.

rita@NL, thanks for adding comedy to this forum. However, i strongly think Bola is the real winner. Agreed, this is Nigeria, but let us put ourselves in D'bang's shoes. Would you as D'bang rather have Rita be your ambassador or someone more appropriate? lets be real and stop talking like that. In all ways, Bolanle is  the most appropriate. are we talking responsibilty, composure, intelligence, versatility, accommodating nature, and so on? you just name most of the positive and responsible attributes. Her only flaw, at least the one i noticed is that she gives too much response to any question. always wanting to show her intelligibility. anyways, Bola, congrats. wish u the very best and i really pray that your academics don't suffer too much.

TV/Movies / Can A Lady Ever Win The Guilder Ultimate Search? by tiptess(f): 10:17am On Aug 07, 2009
Since the very first edition of the Guilder Ultimate search, a man has always won the title and most often than not, the last girl standing usually gets evicted either a day before like yesterday or on the day of the final search. If she can beat men to the last stage, why is it that she usually is d last to be evicted before the final search?

The bank's management should have put on a human face and probably give him a suspension, pay cut for the month or something along those lines. After all he saved their money for them. However, i will strongly appeal to people who accidentally fall in his position to think twice and obey company polices.
