@titiloyeblog.com Nigerians on an Arik Air flight from Port Harcourt to Lagos were taken aback and some began to plead the blood of Jesus after the Ooni of Ife boarded the plane with his diviner who was performing some sort of traditional rite. Passengers were already seated when the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, and his aides walked in. His diviner was also present, dressed in an attire befitting of his position, and he held two instruments which he raised above his hand and shook vigorously to make a sound. The diviner kept shaking the instrument until the Ooni sat down. He then put the instruments in a satchel hanging by his side and proceeded to his seat at the back of the plane. Artist manager, Soso Soberekon who was on the same flight revealed some Nigerians were shaken by the incident that they began to "plead the blood of Jesus." @titiloyeblog.com A 36-year-old mother of three, Chizoba Ogbonna, has been arrested by operatives of the Inspector General of Police Special Intelligence Response Team (IRT), in Abriba-Ohafia, Abia State, for allegedly masterminding her kidnapping. The suspect, an indigene of Osisioma in Abia State and a graduate of Alvan Ikoku Federal College of Education, Owerri, Imo State, was arrested with two others, Uche Anthony and Joseph Ezema, who allegedly assisted her to mastermind her kidnap, as well as negotiate for a ransom. Our source disclosed that N500,000 was paid through Ogbonna’s bank account as ransom before the IRT operatives swooped on them. The Nation learned that one of Ogbonna’s relatives alerted the Inspector General of Police, Adamu Mohammed, to her purported abduction and the subsequent demand for N2million as ransom. It was gathered that her purported kidnappers had threatened to kill her within hours if their demands were not met and the IGP swiftly deployed a crack team of operatives from the IRT, headed by Deputy Commissioner of Police Abba Kyari, to track and arrest the suspects. The source said the operatives, who were armed with advanced tracking devices, trailed Ogbonna and her kidnappers to an uncompleted building at Agborji community in Abriba-Ohafia area of the state with the intention of rescuing her and nabbing her kidnappers, but they (operatives) were shocked when they arrived the hideout and discovered that Ogbonna was having an affair with one of her purported kidnappers and her abduction was staged to extort money from her relatives, which she intended using to travel out of the country, with her boyfriend. Ogbonna, however, denied staging her own kidnapping, claiming that she was hypnotized, whisked away in a vehicle and she later found herself in the home of her boyfriend, Joseph Ezema, who she said contacted her family and demanded the ransom. She said: “I am a primary school teacher. I was formerly married and had three children for my ex-husband, but I don’t love him. It was as if he charmed me. I pulled out of the marriage when I realized that I had been hypnotized. “In 2018, I met Joseph on Facebook and he told me he is a fashion designer. Later I told him that I have some jobs for him and from that point, we started a relationship. At one point in our relationship, we discussed traveling out of the country and he told me that he had once spent about N300,000 for a visa and it didn’t work out for him. So, on March 13, I was on my way to visit my sister and a vehicle stopped in front of me. I saw six persons in it and a woman inside the vehicle called me and when I responded, she asked me to enter the vehicle. At that point, I lost control of myself. She asked me to enter the vehicle and I obeyed her. “I later found myself in the home of my boyfriend at Agborji. My boyfriend took my phone, called my sister and demanded a ransom. When my sister spoke with me, I begged her to pay the ransom my boyfriend was demanding. “I then sent my account number to my sister and she paid N500,000 into the account. Two days after the money was paid, the police came and arrested me and my boyfriend.” But her 30-year-old boyfriend, Joseph Ezema, debunked her claim that she was hypnotized and kidnapped. He narrated how he met her and how she suggested the idea of kidnap so that she could raise the money they would use to travel out of the country. The fashion designer said: “I have just a secondary school leaving certificate. I’m not married and I don’t have children. I was arrested because I faked the kidnap of my girlfriend. I met her sometime in April 2018, she is one of my friends on Facebook and she was always commenting on my photos. We started chatting, then we started dating. She told me that she was a divorcee and that her husband used to beat her and he wasn’t allowing her to have friends and there was a day the man came home with another woman and everything became complicated for her. Then she decided to move out of her husband’s home. “She said she rented an apartment and lived there with one of her children. So, when we started dating, I visited her house with one of my friends, Anthony and I told her that I was planning to travel out of the country. She said she wanted to travel with me, but I told her that I didn’t have much money. “So, she told me that she would want me to kidnap her and demand ransom from her sister. That we would use the money to travel out of the country. We then traveled to my town, Abriba and she came with a blue phone with two sim cards. “Two days later, she covered her phone with a cloth and called her sister, pretending to be a kidnapper. She later told her sister that she had been kidnapped and she demanded a ransom. Later, she got scared and thought her sister would recognize her voice. Then my friend, Anthony, took over the phone and started negotiating with her sister. After two weeks of negotiation, her family paid N300,000 into her account. “On the day we were arrested, her family paid an additional N200,000 into her account and they said that was all they could afford. She gave me N100,000 as my share, but the police came and arrested me. I told the police that I am not a kidnapper and that it was my girlfriend who lured me into the act.” source: https://www.titiloyeblog.com/2019/05/woman-arrested-for-allegedly.html Cc: Lalasticlala, Mynd44

@titiloyeblog.com In a bid to checkmate age falsification by graduates, the National Youth Service Corps says it has decided to henceforth include the date of birth of Corps members on discharge certificates. The NYSC Director-General, Brig Shuaibu Ibrahim, who made this known when he spoke at the 2019 Batch B pre-mobilisation workshop which held in Abuja, said the measure was particularly designed to checkmate the habit of some institutions presenting over-aged graduates for the mandatory post-graduation scheme. “We have observed that some institutions present over-aged graduates for mobilization. Such graduates falsify their age in order to avoid appearing on the exemption list. Such an act will not be condoned and the scheme will not hesitate to apply appropriate sanctions on any institution involved. As a further step toward curtailing age falsification, we have decided to include the date of birth on the certificate of national service and exclusion letter. This is just as in the case of the WAEC certificate and the NYSC Exemption Certificate. We also plan to carry out advocacy to encourage other examination bodies to adopt the same approach.Source: https://www.titiloyeblog.com/2019/05/nysc-to-checkmate-age-falsification-by.html

@titiloyeblog.com A father has been arrested on suspicion of killing his 5-year-old daughter by throwing her into a fire. Pavel Makarchuk, 50, allegedly hit his daughter Darina, causing her to fall to the floor and hit her head. He then allegedly decided to hide his crime by chopping the girl's body and burning her in the oven, police in Ukraine said. The regional police commander in Zhytomyr, Artem Lisogor, said: "The father pushed or hit the girl. The child fell down and crashed her head against the threshold. The girl passed out and did not recover. The father decided to hide this crime, so the child was put inside the stove and burned.'' Makarchuk’s wife, 41, has also been arrested on suspicion of being an accessory to murder. A murder investigation has now been launched, nine months after the girl was killed. When police arrived at their home, the couple allegedly dressed their son, 3, in girl’s clothes to make it seem that Darina was still alive. Darina had been living with a foster family for at least two years and was only given back to her biological parents three months before she was killed, Metro UK reports. Police said the parents, who have three other children, "confessed" to the attempt to cover-up Darina’s death and admitted she had been thrown into the stove. The child's mother told police that after shoving the child, her husband had tried to give the girl "artificial respiration" but she did not respond. He then lit a fire in the stove and "carried her charred remains to the river", where they still have not been located. The child's foster mother Natalya Kobernik had argued that Darina would not be properly cared for after social activists successfully campaigned for the child to be returned to her natural family. But her concerns were ignored and the child was returned to her biological parents. Natalya accused the authorities of placing the child in a family where she was at risk of abuse. Makarchuk faces up to 15 years in jail if he is convicted of murder. His other children have now been taken into care. source: https://www.titiloyeblog.com/2019/05/barely-24-hours-after-his-inauguration.html Cc: Lalasticlala, Mynd44

Outgoing Imo State Governor Rochas Okorocha on Monday disclosed he has kept N42.5 billion in the coffers of the state for his successor, Chief Emeka Ihedioha. Okorocha stated he decided to keep such amount for the in-coming governor so that there won’t be excuses in carrying out activities of the government. The governor, who made the disclosure while swearing-in eleven Permanent Secretaries as well as the new Accountant-Genera, Deacon Donald Igbo and the new Head of Service Mrs. Ngozi Ama Eluma, explained that N8.1billion of the money was meant for the payment of salaries and capital Projects while N5.2billion was for Pension Arrears. He also stated N7.6billion was meant for the renovation of schools, while N21.6billion was mapped out for rural roads, totaling N42.5billion. The governor noted further that following petitions from the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) Chieftains, the Economic and Financial Crime Commission, (EFCC), blocked the money for the payment of arrears of Pension and others at the point of starting the payments. Addressing the new Permanent Secretaries, the governor advised them to do their best to reposition the Civil Service system, protect the integrity of the State and shun corruption, adding that workers in the State Civil Service should put in their best in the service of their fatherland. According to him: “Remember God in discharging your duties. Discharge your duties without fear or favor and also defend your State when the need arises. “I gave this state my best. I will do all I can to support the incoming government. Imo State Government has kept aside a total of N4.5b for the incoming government, and for that reason, I will set up a sub-committee to make sure that the projects they are attached to, come to fruition even when I am out of office or when I will not be available because government is a continuum”. He continued: “The breakdown of these funds are as follows: N8.1b that came into Imo State offers from both State and LG, from FAAC, that money has not been expended as not even one naira has been taken away from it and the money is in Zenith Bank and has not been touched. The second money is N5.2bn in Access Bank, the remnant of the Paris Club fund, not one naira has been removed from it. “The third fund is N7.6b, money that came from UBEC. Imo State has paid a total of N3.8b counterpart fund and UBEC has brought in their N3.8b. That gave us N7.6 billion. “That money is intact and not one naira has been removed from it. The fourth fund is the RAMP fund of $60m representing N21.6b and is also in Imo State Government’s account. “It is with First Bank. The money is also here in Imo State and no one naira has been touched.” He added: “If you total N8.1b plus N5.2b, N7.6b, and N21.6b, you have a total of N42.6b which I will be handing over to Emeka Ihedioha led government as from the 29th of May, 2019. “How is this money meant to be expended? I want to put it succinctly clear. The N8.1b naira from FAAC usually will cover the cost of salaries and capital projects. “This government is expected to spend this N8.1b naira for the payment of salaries for May and also for the payment of other Contractual obligations as may be deemed fit.” The new Permanent Secretaries were: Mr. Donald .N. Igbo, Mrs. Edith Chioma Ekenze, Mr. Elias Amuche Anyanwu, Mr. Justus Oguoma, Rev. Reginald Oguike, and Mr. Benjamin Nnamadu. Others were Mrs. Patricia Atuechi Elebiri, Engr. George Ejiogu, Mrs. Patricia Uche Ezeonyeachi, Mrs. Ngozi Bernadine and Mrs. Meg. Obi. source: https://www.titiloyeblog.com/2019/05/im-leaving-n425b-in-imo-coffers-says.html L

@titiloyeblog.com Oyo State Governor, Abiola Ajimobi on Friday disclosed that his administration is leaving behind a legacy of peace, security, and development in the state. Ajimobi’s second term tenure expires on the 29th of May 2019. Speaking with State House correspondents after meeting with President Buhari, he said that he does not owe workers’ salaries. He thanked the President for assisting state governments to pay salaries and meet other challenges. He said “I want to thank President Buhari for the support he has given all the states particularly during the period of scarcity of funds to execute our projects, to pay salaries, to meet the socioeconomic development demands. “He was on hand to help all of us. He supported us by releasing funds to all of us and as at today that I am talking most of the states including Oyo state is not owing salaries. “He also assisted us with social infrastructure that is extending the welfare nets to the states, that is why I am here to thank Mr. President because in another two days I am going for Umrah and by the time I come back I won’t be in office as Governor. “I am going to Umrah to thank God. When I came in, I pleaded with God to give me the opportunity to serve peacefully and that He did.” He thanked the people of Oyo State for letting him be the first governor to serve two terms in the state. “I also want to thank the people of Oyo State for allowing me to be the first governor to do two terms of eight years, it has never happened in Oyo State. “I am leaving a legacy of peace and security in Oyo. At a time Oyo State was seen as what you call a garrison state, today Oyo state is one of the peaceful states in Nigeria. “If our government has not done anything at all, we have brought peace and tranquility and development to Oyo state. It’s been a worthwhile venture. “Many of us could sit back and say I retired as an MD of a multinational but if we sit back and play the ostrich we will see that evil will always triumph when men of good will fail to act. “I want to say that Ajumobi came, brought peace to Oyo state and add value to the social economic development of the State and to Nigeria in general,” he said. He said that he regretted that he could not do everything he planned for the state during the eight years. “I think I regret the fact that I have not been able to do everything I wanted to do. I wish our people could be more understanding, could be more patient but they feel that any time you try to make a change, people resist change even if it’s good for them. I wish I had been in politics 20 years ago.” source: https://www.titiloyeblog.com/2019/05/im-leaving-peace-security-legacy-ajimobi.html Cc: Lalasticlala, Mynd44

@titiloyeblog.com Officials of the Nigerian Prison Service, Federal Capital Territory Command, has arrested a man, Clement Jacob, for allegedly smuggling Cannabis to give an inmate of the Kuje Medium Security Prison. Jacob is said to have planted the banned substance in his sandal and was expecting to deliver it to his friend, Emeka Onyejikacki, who is an inmate in the prison. A statement by the Command's Public Relations Officer, Chukwuedo Humphrey, said Jacob was arrested by one Inspector Hussain Ibrahim, who noticed the exchange of sandals between him and Onyejikacki and conducted a search on the suspect. “Our officers have apprehended one Clement Jacob for attempting to smuggle a substance suspected to be Indian hemp into the prison facility. The substance was to be delivered to Onyejikacki, an inmate of the Kuje Prison. Jacob ran out of luck when he exchanged his sandals with those of the inmate after his session of a prison visit. Inspector Hussain Ibrahim, the officer in charge of the visitor area, noticed the quick exchange of footwear and requested another search after the visiting session was over. During the search, Hussain carefully tore open the sole of the sandals, thereby exposing the illegal transaction. Upon interrogation, Jacob, who initially feigned ignorance, divulged that one Mrs. Emeka had called him to assist her in paying Mr. Emeka a visit. He was also instructed to exchange his footwear with the inmate before leaving the premises.” source: https://www.titiloyeblog.com/2019/05/photo-prison-officials-arrest-man-for.html Cc: Lalasticlala, Mynd44

@titiloyeblog.com The Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo on Friday, described the outgoing Imo State Governor, Rochas Okorocha as a great achiever who has done well in the eight years of his tenure as governor. The Vice President who was in the state to commission projects executed by Okorocha’s administration congratulated the governor and people of the state. Osinbajo while commissioning the IMO International Exhibition Centre, said he could testify of the great things the governor has done in the state. According to him, “I have gone around the state on several occasions to look at so many projects that the governor has done. As a matter of fact, on one occasion, we went to see one of the Universities that he had just completed. When I went round that University Complex, I realized that there is simply no other University that has the kind physical facilities like that University has, at least in the history of Nigeria. “So, I felt that it’s very important to recognize what His Excellency has done in these past 8 years. He is extremely commendable and I don’t know like many others, that have done the amount of work especially in infrastructure that he has done, Schools, hospitals, etc. I’ve also commissioned hospital premises of the Air Force, the Police and others like them at 3 or 4 places. A lot of these projects like he said are not advertised or published in any way”. He added that “I’ve always found him very strange. I must say so because he’s otherwise someone who is not quiet but decided to keep quiet about his achievements. I’ve not been able to understand that because anybody who knows him will not say he’s a quiet man”. “I want to say that he has done extremely well in this past 8 years and sometimes his contemporaries will choose to make a loud noise for very few they have achieved”. Prof. Osinbajo continued that, “Your Excellency, what you have done is truly commendable and I’m sure that posterity will not forget you in a hurry. I am here to Commission 50 projects, but I am 62 years old so I will do what he did yesterday when he commissioned some of the projects on-line”. The governor in his speech, said that the IMO International Exhibition Centre has been renamed Professor Yemi Osinbajo exhibition Centre, adding that local products would always be on display in the place even for export, while the four buildings inside the Complex represent the four market days in Igboland including Afor, Eke, Orie, and Nkwo. His words “Your Excellency, you’re here and I invited you to come and commission some projects in Imo State. A few years ago when you visited IMO, you advised me that I must make my works known to the people and I disagreed with you making excuses that there was no need to commission projects because when I consider the money involved in commissioning a project, it would give me money, to construct another classroom elsewhere. But as time went on, I have come to realize that the advice you gave to me was simply of wisdom.” He added “Though I have taken the advice very late, that’s why I was calling you to be among the first that will commission some of these projects to actualize the advice you had given to me. I have spent 8 years Mr. Vice President. 18 hours out of the 24 hours in a day, I am on the road working. And for the past 8 years, I do not know of any night that I have gotten 3 or 4 hours of sleep. My passion for Imo made me a crazy man, and I was in a hurry to change the situation”. He continued “May I inform you sir that I am proud today standing as an outgoing governor, that the State Capital I met, the village I met called Owerri, is now wearing a look of a State Capital. This is the joy and one of the legacies that I have seen which history will bear me witness. But had I taken your advice, I’m sure entire Nigeria would have known what is happening in Imo State. In fact, this is why I’m being misrepresented and misconstrued in all my effort to develop Imo State. And in reply, I say to them that they are misrepresenting facts. "They're not aware of the news or anything going on. It's selfish I don't wanna say selfish because it feels rude but it's dangerous for sure. I think our world is going through a lot, obviously.
