Travel / Re: Abuja - Dubai Trip Advice Needed by tkovie2002(m): 6:57pm On Oct 21, 2018 |
bespokeset: I have flown Egyptair to and from Dubai a couple of times within the past year. 300k is a good amount of money to save and if you can, I would advise that you fly with egypt air. They're prompt, professional and their prices are very reasonable. I would advise you to choose from one of the methods I use. I love layovers but I hate sitting for long hours at the airport. So if you can get a ticket with maybe 2 hours layover in Egypt at that good rate you found, go for it as you won't spend a long time sitting at the airport and in a before you know it, you're on the next flight to Dubai. OR Find a ticket with a layover longer than 6 hours and OVERNIGHT. It will help as you will be given a hotel voucher and a bus will be assigned to drop you and the kids off at the hotel and pick you up 2 hours before your flight. Like I said, they're very prompt so you don't want to be slow. If you'll take the second option, I will advise that you pack a bit of essentials (Maybe a change of shirt and undies) in your hand luggage and check in the rest of the bags for easy movement so you don't drag a lot of bags around while transiting. You'll wake up in the morning refreshed and start the second leg of your journey with full energy. I wish you all the best! 3 Likes |

Ebiboi: If you book a ticket online, you get it instantly or at most 30 minutes in your email. If you do over the counter, same thing. Flight tickets are not visa that takes processing. 1 Like |

Hybrid600: Turkish will only ask for OTB if you are flying one way. I've flown turkish airline before on a 3 months Sharjah visa. As long as you have return ticket, any airline will board you. The reason the airlines request for OTB is because they cannot verify your visa at that moment and should you be refused entry into the UAE upon arrival, you become a burden to them as it will be their responsibility to fly you back to Nigeria. If you only bought a one way ticket, then they will be running at a loss flying you back for free. But if you have a return ticket, they will easily put you on the next flight back to Nigeria if refused entry, at no extra cost based on your return ticket. |

You can still get 3 months visa if you meet a good agent. BTW its only single entry for Nigerians. We don't have the option of multiple entry. Walecrsyler: |

onmyteflon: It depends on your pocket. If you're on a low-mid range budget stay anywhere between Deira and Bur Dubai. Check for closeness to a Metro station (Subway Access) for cheaper and easier transportation. 1 Like |

onmyteflon: Nothing happens except you're given a food voucher to eat while you wait for your next flight. You could get an instant visa to tour the city for $50 but thats only if you hold a valid UK, US or Schengen visa. Anything other than that, you're stuck in the airport for the duration of the layover. Tip: If you can't receive the free wifi code on your sim at the airport, buy ice cream from the ice cream shop ($7 I think) and the man will give you his own wifi password. That will last you all through the layover. Safe flight. 3 Likes |

I think it takes Lagos a month to process a visit visa because I applied since the 6th of June and only got a text an email today 7th July that my passport is ready for pickup. So I advise everyone else to make use of Abuja office if you want it early. |

Properties / Why Don't Nigerian Homes Have Basements? by tkovie2002(m): 3:51pm On Sep 08, 2016 |
According to wikipedia A basement or cellar is one or more floors of a building that are either completely or partially below the ground floor. Basements are generally used as a utility space for a building where such items as the boiler, water heater, breaker panel or fuse box, car park, and air-conditioning system are located; so also are amenities such as the electrical distribution system, and cable television distribution point. However, in cities with high property prices such as London, basements are often fitted out to a high standard and used as living space. So as beautiful and Useful as they can be, I would like to know why most Nigerian homes do not have basements like the ones abroad. * Is it very expensive? * Doesn't our terrain or building codes/patterns support it? * Is it that our architects do not suggest it or clients just don't just want it. * What are the pros and cons with respect to Geographical region? Please I would like everyone to air their views so we can learn from each other. 11 Likes 4 Shares

Politics / Re: Boko Haram Members Killed By Army As They Tried To Attack Soldiers From Sambisa by tkovie2002(m): 11:44am On Aug 24, 2016 |
Just two terrorists but why did they have to keep switching the arms and changing the ammunitions close to them and make it seem like its more than two? This makes it difficult to believe them. They're trying too hard to impress. PS: Like everyone else, I'm glad the boko haram are being defeated but pls don't try to impress us with photo ops, just do your job and present it as it is, not modifying their positions and things around them trying to decieve us. 1 Like |
