greenie77: For those asking him how they too can go about it, I was expecting him to give details on how to identify a registered orphanage, choosing a child, making an application, how he was interviewed, how social workers visited his home both expected and unexpectedly, how many times the toddler was presented before the magistrate to push the case for adoption etc.......If going through the legal route of adopting a child in Nigeria is a smooth ride, couples will not be patronizing baby factories. First of all,I never said it was a smooth ride adopting a child in Nigeria, if you read my post carefully , you will see where I said I began the process in mid 2018 and not until late 2018 before my application was granted , that is to say it took me almost half a year before I could adopt.
For those asking for the process, just get a good and popular lawyer especially the ones working with women affairs and NGOs , table your matter and be absolutely honest about everything. They will handle the rest cause those lawyers knows the registered orphanages and all the process involved, they will guide you through everything and the last but not the least be patient with everything cause you will need it. |

It's because of people like you I opted for a baby girl to prove y'all wrong.

AutoChick4U: I just hope its not baby factory cos Nigeria that I know would hardly give out a single male in his 20s a female toddler to raise. Baby factory will deliver a child , feed and take of the child till she is three years plus Come on no baby factory will do that cause they sell the child almost immediately the child is delivered

Limassol: Chilax lady! Did you notice in another thread where this guy is boasting he earns in $$? His ways are dubius. Let him come clean else no one will take him seriously. Not even in the US young people adopt kids(op was 25 when he made the move), it's odd and questionable. Do you even know the cost of succesfully raising a child and giving that child a memorable childhood? Even people in rich people countries think twice about this before making the move. Think about this. Being gullibe leads to regrets! I wish y'all can see how I am laughing real hard over here because of this comment.
So because I earn in dollars ,then I must be dubious. Mehn come on and I don't what you are yapping about me coming clean , come clean about what exactly
And don't worry about my financial capabilities of raising her cause that's the least of my worries |

Nikkganc08: Assuming u get 1$ and was paid 540naira instead of 185 that was obtainable in 2011,
You'll still spend it on those things that u spent the on in 2011.
For instance in 2011, let's say that with 185 naira ( 1$ ), u bought:
1 litre of Kerosene @ 65naira, and 12 cups of rice @120naira
In 2021 , ur 540 naira will still buy :
1litre of kerosene @260 .
But sadly, the remaining 280 can't get u up to 12 cups of garri agian.
So...
Stop rejoicing cos u earn in dollars.
I also earn in dollars .
Once dollar goes up, prices of everything goes up. Don't get me wrong, I am not in any way rejoicing over this news infact I already know all what you explained because we import virtually everything we consume so I know.
Let's just say I am indifferent about the whole issue |

Kobojunkie: 1. Marriage is not for everyone, even God said this.
2. What is so special about having your own kids?
3. There are children out here already in need of the same exact love and attention you intend to give your own kids. Why not give to these one's already here instead? Are they nor worth it? Wish I can like your comment more than once, I don't really know what so special about having your own kids that Africans won't feel fullfiled till they do, Really there is nothing special cause even mad women dey born up and down for street so I don't know what is so special there.
There are really children out in need of that love and care you intend to give your kids so why not adopt instead of adding to our already overpopulated society |

SaintUlot: That's one of the serious problems facing this country, self-centeredness. You earn in dollars, good, what about having empathy for a lot of other poor Nigerians who doesn't have the privilege to earn in USD to cushion the effect of inflation.Self-centeredness is what brought Nigeria to its current situation.
Doctors are on strike, the privileged ones/politicians ll say:i can travel out with my families to get treated abroad. ASUU is on strike, they will say: i don't give a damn, all my children are studying abroad. Insecurity is on the rise, they will say: I will jakpa, others can die, i don't care.
Am not attacking you, i am just saying this generally, so that Nigerians can embrace empathy and selflessness. We should do away with that mentality of so far i and my family are okay, others can go to hell. I am not a politician, neither am I occupying any public position, so channel this your grievances to those who were elected and whose job it is to prevent stuffs like this
Okay |

FarmTech: . This isn't a good idea oo. Sinners can't differentiate many rights from wrong. It takes maturity in Christ to do that. Eg many sinners sees nothing wrong with immodesty, seductive behaviors, dirty songs, jokes and movies etc. Argue with them all u like, they don't see these as wrong. . That girl will soon grow and controlling her will become difficult or impossible. No matter how much she loves u, she won't listen to ur advice and warnings. And she will dabble into sex. . Look around and see all the bad influence in the society today. U need Christ to train her the right way. . Hebrews 5:14: But solid food is for the mature, who by constant use have trained themselves to distinguish good from evil. Look at our politicians today, infact look at our society in general, most if not all were raised in a religious background and how is that working out for us so far, Nigeria still ranks as one of the most corrupt countries and other negative indices while less religious countries are doing way better
Will rather teach her humanity |

If you are pained, you can go hit your head on the wall for all I care. Like you said it's my life and I will live it however I so please, and I don't see it as a cross not when there is money.
And I have noticed something, most people with negative opinions and mindset like you are usually the broke ones, talk about poverty and negativity

And I am not forcing anyone to follow my path, everyone got their to live so don't fúcking tell me how to live mine

I got worse criticism when I was in the process of adopting her so nothing that anyone will say is new to me, it's because of this I don't openly tell people she is adopted, apart from my family and the orphanage management and my lawyer ,no else knows she is adopted and I want it to stay that way. |

But I told them nah, don't want no baby mama and all their baggages they come along with for now, infact my daughter has already spent few months with me before any of my family members got to know about it so it was too late for them to do anything about it.
And besides they know me say I stubborn and I no dey hear word so they just let me be and accepted her as part of the family , not that they really had a choice anyways |

This was how Michael Jackson started off till he was first made to cough out some sums and he gave himself brain. It's a cute thing to want a child but I'm not sure you're emotionally ready for the weight that comes with having one When I get to thirty,I would adopt another one maybe two this time, so save your sermon for those that needs it cause I don't |

Family › Re: My Experience Adopting A Child In Nigeria As A Young Guy by TMTR(op): 6:30am On Sep 08, 2021 |
StPete: I am being a realist. Many of the men who slept with their kids (most are usually not their biological kids) didn't find them sexually appealing as toddlers. That a young boy like yourself opted for adoption at a young age doesn't seem the least natural. I presuppose there is more to this case than meets the eye. I however congratulate you on your selfless endeavour Well I don't really blame you, I blame the fúked up world that we live in that views every action someone takes no matter how selfless suspiciously and then again age is just a numerical figure, doesn't really mean shít, cause I have seen people in their fifties and above that behave like kids , very immature and I have seen 20 years old that behave very very mature, that if they don't tell you their age, you would think that they are very advanced in age .
So I like said earlier age is just a number and don't mean shít and there is nothing more to it other than someone that just loves children and loves being around children
Stop overthinking it |
Family › Re: My Experience Adopting A Child In Nigeria As A Young Guy by TMTR(op): 5:54am On Sep 08, 2021 |
StPete: It is not only by fvcking, that's why he has the capability to take care of the child. Why not do it to his own blood. I must say that I fear for that child while growing up cos the OP knows she's not his own blood so what if he starts getting sexually attracted to her Not everyone has a dirty mind like you, I am not a paedophile, she is just a kid and how I will get sexually attracted to someone I see as my daughter and calls me dad.
Being blood related has not stopped stopped some men from being sexually attracted to their relations, so I don't know what you are on about, it's all about mindset and mentality so I can never be sexually attracted to her in any way
And you know what I have noticed in these life, people that are quick to throw accusations like you are usually guilty of what they accuse people of, you need to take a look at the man you see when you look into the mirror not me |
