tolarr: hello guys, pls I will like to make an enquiry. I applied for a trv to visit a cousin of mine in 2014 but was denied. the vo stated that I have not satisfied her that I will return to Nigeria. she gave purpose of travel and travel history as her reasons. my cousin however encouraged me to try again, this time with my wife and two sons. that single guys are generally denied. pls I want to know if I stand a good chance with the following : applying with my wife and two sons, #500k in my account but my cousin intends stating that she will be sponsoring our trip which is true. I work as an admin staff with a private university and my salary is 89k per month. I don't have a house yet but I have evidence of a plot of land I bought early in 2014. my question to u all now is that do I stand a chance trully with my wife and two sons (bearing in mind that my cousin will state in the letter that she will accommodate us and pay for our trip to Canada and back to Nigeria after Xmas) or kind response will go a long way. kinda nervous bc the total cost of my application along with my wife and two sons is more than a 100k. thank u. In all honesty, your cousin is not right about single guys being denied.. You probably didn't state properly what you were going to do there. If you want to go with your family, you need to show that you have more than enough funds to do so. And I'm not sure that cousin stating that she will be sponsoring your trip is a good idea too.. I dnt know much about how visit visa goes, I hope people with more knowlegde will shed more light on your situation. |

@lilspiceyy sorry about your delay, its so confusing how current employment situation was ticked despite the fact that u submitted everything pertaining to your job... I understand that it is almost impossible to get a PDG with an OND. All I can advice for now is that you call for your file, before taking the next step. http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/department/atip/requests-atip.asp |

a4larin: Hello.
Please guys I want to know if there is still a need for BTA (Basic Travel Allowance) when traveling as a student. I'll be leaving for Dalhousie and I want to know it its still required and how much it is especially if traveling for the first time. Is it also okay to travel with Canadian dollars or necessarily US dollars please?
I'll appreciate your reaponses. There's no need for it. You don't even need to travel with so much money, maybe just little for cab fare to your destination from the airport and other little expenses. I guess you'll be going with your mastercard, and that should do. |

MockinJay: I'm kinda confused with my tuition fee payment. I asked someone from the one on Reddit about it. He said the payment is per term, 4 months.
The total tuition fee for an undergraduate is approximately 20000CAD. Is he saying I'm to pay that sum every four months?
The page on the school site States "Winter 2014-2015 tuition fee" it should be a year na?
I'm supposed to resume this fall.
The 20kCAD covers 10 courses, acceptable fee and some other fees(including bus pass)
What do you guys think?
#EngrProgram Hi, I think what the person meant is you pay per term,I guess there are two terms in a session right? and the payment format is right below where u circled at the bottom on the page I.e First payment - $10,101.03 Second payment - $9,813.03 Cheers |

tpent1: Hi everyone, please can anyone advise how i can request my passport back from the Canadian Embassy. I applied for a visiting visa 2 weeks ago but i need my passport urgently. is it possible to collect the passport and return when i am done? it is not like i want to cancel my application or anything. all i need is my passport. please seniors advise.... Once you request your passport from VFS, you can't return it, it means you've withdrawn your application. |

deleyi20: Hello Dear,
I totally understand your views. Its quite unfortunate that you judged/concluded so quickly... maybe you could have asked me if i had done any research myself. Anyways, It would interest you to know that i have done proper research and have list of schools already. It doesn't substitute for the experiences my fellow nigerians can share with me here too. I believe if someone has already achieved my goals, sharing his experience would definitely help me make the right choices with ease.
Two people already PM/Emailed me list of some schools and shared their experiences which has been helpful, priceless and useful to continue my findings.
Have a good night rest dear. Hi, Well said, just so you know if you had asked a specific question and made it known that you had done your findings and listed the schools in mind on here, you would have gotten more than two responses to aid you. This thread thrives on information shared, now that you've been mailed what you wanted, how does the thread grow? How do people that want this info get it when its your inbox? They then come n ask the same question again. Ps. I didn't judge you, the question you asked and the way it was asked was...... But from your replies you seem like a really smart person. I wish you all the best in your endeavours. |

Before I retire for the night, someone said something about nigerians in canada nt helping eachoda, pls that's not true, I've heard loads of great testimonies, this thread is even an example. And I also don't think referring people to google or previous threads means we're driving them from here, anyone who is determined will stick around and get what he wants. HayquinsbFX has been attacked and insulted severally, but did he leave? No, cuz he knows what he wants and is determined.
Goodnight guys |

brandymcmb: I wonder if the likes of @chrigo @slimdel @amefrica @siga et all back then told all of us to keep "reading back" then there would be no one left on this thread. People used to get referred to pages abeg, and people hardly asked silly questions then. These days peeps just ask annoyingly simple questions without any research and expect abracadabra answers. @yregs thanks for your input, no one here is an island, we learn everyday, and we can't learn if we flood d thread by answering same questions in different dimensions everyoda day. |

Funto900: asking for suggestions isn't bad pls. Fine there DLIs per province on the cic website but sumtims people prefer to ask from fellow nigerians. There are a lot of schools, and one might just want ideas based on past experiences. I doubt if anyone will come here to ask any question without doing a little research. Please stop making excuses for people, didn't you findout these things on your own? Let's call a spade a spade, some people are just plain lazy and like to be spoon fed at all levels. Btw, If someone wants suggestions based on past experience, he must have done research and listed some schools, then come to ask questions like, btwn school a, b, c and d which do u think is better, in terms of bla bla. Not questions like pls help with schls that offer masters in bla bla. |
Travel › Re: Travelling To Canada Part 7 by tnuola(f): 9:10pm On Mar 22, 2015 |
One thing you all should have in mind is that majority of the people on this thread are prospective students, so if you can't do little research before you get there, how will you get your assignments and all done please? Secondly some people don't even make any attempt to read, all they do is come here ask questions and expect swft answers. In as much as we are here to learn from eachother, we should try to atleast have an idea of what we want before asking questions. How can you ask people to suggest schools for u for christsakes? |

deleyi20: Good Morning Everyone,
I just recently started preparing for GRE and TOEFL as i intend to apply for Graduate Studies (MSc in Electrical/Electronics Engineering or Computer Engineering or any related Engineering/Science discipline) into Canadian Institutions... Please I need help with Canadian Universities that have High acceptance rates directly into their masters programmes. Names of schools will be highly appreciated, I'll do the necessary research on them... Thanks. This might sound a little mean, but I've got to say it anyways; You are a prospective masters student, do your research from scratch to finish, and when you have a list of schools you can come back to ask specific questions abt them. Just have in mind that you should have a first class or very strong 2:1 to get admitted/accepted. Byee |
