Abeg no vex dear mamas I have my own question.

My own is almost here ooo.

Do you think I should write a change of intent to the embassy? Or just arm myself with my documents.
I suggest you send the change of intent mail as a back up to show youve covered all bases. Its just by way of information it doesnt matter when you contacted the hospital or doctor. They usually reply within reasonable time. You should have a response before that two weeks.
N/B they may not even ask for documents at POE but its always best to be overprepared.
All the best

Hello tobermom,
Please, can you kindly tell me the hospital you used in New york and the doctor you used. I really want to attempt VBAC and need a VBAC friendly doctor that will encourage me and not advice me to do another CS again. Please, I will be glad if you can assist a sister. Thanks

I used wyckoff heights medical center in brooklyn ny. Just go through my previous posts for detailed info. My doc was Omrou Alchyib. But like i mentioned before, you dont choose docs. You are assigned one on your first appointment. I was just favored that it was the one i was leaning towards that was assigned to me. Google the hospital website, under the physicians check all of them out on healthgrades.com . i think out of the 6 or 7 attending doctors 4 are VBAC friendly.
All the best

@tobermom, abeg 20 question: grin
1. the Nigeria passport was it a 32 or 64 page one?
2. How much did it cost u and
3.what documentation did u use to get it
4. How many days did it take
5. What site online
6. How many days interval from booking online to going to d consulate
Consulate in New York abi
1. The 32 page one
2.77 dollars but an extra 30 dollars for processing ( in money order cos i wasnt able to pay online
4.we applied online, printed out the forms ,submitted and collected same day. You need to be there before 1pm
3.the two money orders ( both addressed to different agencies) 2 photocopies of the one you paid with ( if you are paying with money order) . a copy of babys bc, consent letter signed by both parents plus the application form.
5. Innovate 1 services. Com
6. We applied online and paid but showed up without appointment. Just went with these documents. And yes its the consulate.

As for the 2 photocopies of the money order . you have to address it to the innovates...its written on your online receipt. You can do this before going or do it after the person at the counter directs you to do it cos there are some other things that go on the money order before you photocopy it. (Trust naija things to not be detailed or to make things harder). We werent aware of this till we got there

Thanks, they got the BC & Naija passport yesterday but couldn't go to the US passport office. I want to find out which exact office did u get d US passport from (in 24 working hours) ? Cos they went online for appointment & got 13th Nov & she said they claimed it takes 5 working days after the appointment. While the post office said 3--4 weeks. Just need a Lil guidelines on d US passport ASAP, sorry for always bugging you, guess you are the one closer home the most wink
No wahala at all. Happy to help. Congrats on the naija passport. As for the US? We had a return ticket showing we were departing in less than two weeks. Once you fall under this category they attend to you asap! We didnt even need an appointment. Went without one
Plus its the office on hudson street, cant remember the number now but thats the only office theyve got.

@ Tobermom, hope your bags are packed, each weighing 23kg to avoid going to the airport and transferring items from one bag to the other angry even your hand luggage shouldn't be overweight cos these airline peeps eyes dey red o. Dey weigh hand luggages too. Leave for the airport at least 3hrs to your flight, make sure you don't stand on that long checking in line, follow the wheel chair/ disabled pple line lol. The American drama/ dream Hv been achieved. Safest trip to you and baby as you make it back home. grin

Bless your heart. Im actually in transit at the moment. Everything went smoothly for the first leg now onto the next. I know one or two things bout the aviation lifestlye wink. So was prepared. Thanks and God bless

Safe trip back to Naija. Kindly assist me with contacts to Naija visa office (did you use an agent? If yes contact plus & what's d charge). The hospital informed my wife she can now head to county for the BC and I need to see if she can @ least tidy up both US passport & Naija visa office after picking d BC today & possibly wait for collection next wk. Cos my Aunt took out some time from work to assist her but she is resuming on Monday.

Congrats once more Tobermom, which hospital did you use? My hospital send the BC might take as much as 4 weeks before the data gets to vital records. Which is really delaying already.
I used wyckoff, i would suggest your wife still goes to the vital records place. As long as the birth has been registered, it should be there. I was also asked to wait 4 days before going there but it was filed and sent to vital records on the second day.
All the best

Congratulations @ Tobermom. God bless your LO. Pls Tobermom, financefitness, olokings
and all the mums that have done vbac, pls oh how many months after cs was accepted by your obgyn for you to get pregnant again? Are they all on the strict policy of 18months after cs? Are there other hospitals that do it for less? Thanks for answering oh biko. I need to know my fate concerning this vbac thingy to help plan properly and early.
I dunno exactly. I had a 5year gap, but i think anything from that 18months is ok. I stand to be corrected

In other matters, i had my baby on the 22nd oct. Was discharged on the 24th . had her paed visit on the 28th , settled our bill on the 29th ( it still stood at the 6500, only addition was 275 for labs) Got the short form of her BC from the office of vital records on the 30th. Applied for us passport same day but was asked to collect on 2nd nov. Applied for naija passport 2nd nov and collected both passports on the same day. Also ssn came in by mail yesterday. So with this, My american dream/ journey which has had its fair share of highs and lows is coming to an end. I leave for naija on friday. Yay!!!! Baby will be 2 weeks 1 day ( i told you ozycy that you are my mentor wink . i cant wait to hold both my babies, ive so missed my 5 yr old and im glad his crying spells will finally be over. Thank you Lord!

When i discussed it with d Doc I intend using (Dr E ) she said she does it but d hospital she is attached to doesn't encourage it. That's d challenge with d vbac thing in Houston. Heard d options are better in El paso tho.

This is why i didnt go to houston. They didnt appear vbac friendly. I was in correspondence with dr F but once i mentioned vbac he told me point blank that most docs in the area are reluctant to carry out the procedure.
I think youre better off in El paso
Thats why I came to my new york jeje cos my hospital had a number of obgyns that had carried out the procedure and are very experienced. As God would have it. The very doc my heart was leaning towards was the one assigned to me. He told me i had less than 40% chance of success cos my first delivery leading to cs was very dramatic. After having an episiotomy and baby crowning, he went back in cos he was face to pubis ( silly hospital didnt do a scan). So we did cs last last. So annoying! But he didnt rule out the possibility. That was all i needed to hear. With all these "odds" against me it ended up being a vbac. Its possible my dear, but please go with your SPIRIT! I did some mfm prayer moves before even conceiving and throughout pregnancy. It was just God

Gd evening Tobermom, please can you help me with how u went about the US passport for your baby quickly In New York, baby delayed a bit and wifey is billed to return on the 18th. And I need to hasten up with the process. Just sent Notorized consent on Friday. Thanks a lot

Hi. I would advise you go to the office of vital records 125 worth street manhattan( room144) to collect the short form of the BC if you havent gotten the BC from the hospital yet. Thats what i did on friday. It costs $15 per certificate. No need to pay for 2 , we got it back from the us embassy. But a pgotocopy will suffice for naija own. We applied on friday and will be picking up today by 3pm.

As for the naija ppt, we are applying today and are hopeful we will collect today as well. My hubby is here with me so im not using the notarized form, but im sure once your wife gets it everything will be fine. Hope ive answered you?

I told my daughter (2+) to ALWAYS say please whenever she wants a thing or asks for anything. This evening she (as usual) goes to fiddle with my laptop and a conversation ensued.
Me: Please can you leave my laptop
My daughter: (in her baby voice) Can you please stop saying that.
Hmmm! People, it's MY laptop we are talking about here and her mum has a laptop. grin grin grin

This is to say thank for all the info. I sent the Notification of intent and got a reply(pay all ur bill and collect all receipts blah blah blah). Thank y'll. Still looking for hospital and doctor in New York though,as I have not been able to get the Email address of any(Even the ones mentioned on this thread) or maybe I just don't kW how to navigate through their site properly. The hospital that was recommended said the cant send mails outside the USA. I will still be trying, but in case u av any info as regards this, I will really appreciate. Thank you
Have you checked out wyckoff heights medical centre brooklyn?
They charge 6,500 for vd (2days stay) and 10k for Cs (3 days stay). Both all inclusive of doctors fee, hospital fee, paed fees while on admission and epidural/anaesthesia. So far so good with them
The only downside is you pay 130 dollars each docs visit
Sonogram 241 dollars
They also insist on not giving further discounts. I guess the admitting manager is used to having so many nigerians come in and pay cash yet claim they dont have money that she has become nigerian herself. Lol. She even added that you pay for the epidural whether you use it or not. Something bout it being nyc state law
To be honest, there might be cheaper options out there so keep researching. I chose this hospital based on reviews from babababy, but things have changed since then. The package (money wise) isnt as fantastic anymore.
I was in correspondence with the admitting manager and it was the emails i printed out for POE.
