When reacting to the incident. Nweze1986: EBONYI CIVIL SERVANTS SMILE AGAIN
By Philip Nweze
It’s early Christmas for civil servants in Ebonyi state.
Feelers from Government House has it that Governor David Umahi is set to pump about N400 million from the Paris London Club Refund Loan from FG into uplifting the spirits of his workforce. This money will be sunk into clearing 2017 December salaries, accumulated 2016 and 2017 leave allowance benefits as well as pension liabitilities stretching as far back as 2015, before this year's Christmas celebration. This gesture is to be accompanied with the end of the year bonus of N10, 000 across board for all civil servants. The beauty of this pronouncements is its ability to improve the purchasing power of civil servants this yuletide as all outstanding debts to workers are to be cleared. No strata of the civil service population, including retirees will say that the Governor has not reached them one way or the other during this season.
In fact, Ebonyi State civil servants are truly in a celebration mood as Governor Umahi goes about distributing love and touching their lives every now and then. Governor Umahi has laid foundation for a memorable Christmas for these workers and their dependants.
Public servants in the state are also stretching their necks eagerly looking forward to the usual Christmas Rice largesse of the Umahi administration which the governor has also promised to dole out.
The reality is that millions of civil servants across Nigeria are going to have a blue Christmas and an even bleaker new year with some owed up to 9 months arrears of salaries. But not Ebonyi workers! Ebonyi governor has an incredible trajectory of regular salary payment, with salary alerts received by 15th of every month. As their contemporaries slip deeper into salary palaver, Ebonyi workers would rather be smiling big this yuletide.
Ekubaraoha we applaud you jare! Ebonyi workers must let people know the true of it after xmas, but l thank him for saying it unlike a governor owing workers and pensioners 14months salary and pension and he used to say 'he didn't owe salary and pension' am refering to osun state |

sirdouglas: I went to several. ATM yesterday trying to withdraw but the queue was much so at the end I decided to wait at access bank. The machine paid the lady before me so I was hopeful. I inserted my card and after choosing the amount I wanted I heard the ATM counting money but few minutes later I saw "transaction successful do u wish to continue" few minutes later I got a debit alert. I waited hoping the might come out but nothing happened. Till now I have not gotten a refund and I operate with first bank.
My question is if it's possible that the ATM will still dispense the cash later and now the ATM has acknowledged a successful transaction, can I still get my money ? Bankers in the forum please help Some dubious people are tampering with ATM machine in the bank. It had happened to me in January 3rd 2017, l have my account in WEMA bank but going to withdrawl money with my ATM card in First bank. I insert my card to withdrawl #20000 first, it was succesful, l press the botton to withdrawl another #20000 but it was failed. I removed the card and insert it again and it was succesful. I went home with #40000 and the alert showed me that l withdrawl #40000 but it was after 9 o'clock in the night l received another alert deducting #20000 from account as cash reverser. I couldn't sleep well on that day. I rushed to the bank the following day to check my balance and l saw truely that #20000 has deducted from account. I reportedthe matter to the bank management at WEMA. The asked me to fill the form which l did, the me landline to call their headquarter, they also told me to write application letter on the issue, nothing comes out of it till today |

stephanie11: A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress(APC), Chief Bisi Akande has called for the removal of the 1999 Constitution.Akande, who is also a former chairman of the ruling APC on Tuesday, called for the dissolution of the 1999 Constitution, saying it protects criminal impunity in governance.
Akande made these statements in his speech at the launching ceremony of a book Nigeria: The path we refused to take, which held at the Federal University of Technology, Akure (FUTA). The book is written by the Secretary General of Afenifere, Bashorun Seinde Arogbofa.
Akande, who maintained that the constitution should be scrapped and a new one written for the benefit of the people, rather than amending it also emphasised that the ongoing review efforts by the National Assembly would not solve the discrepancies in the Constitution.
Quoting him: “The 1999 Constitution is the greatest Nigeria’s misadventure since Lord Lugard amalgamation of 1914. The constitution puts emphasis on spending money rather than making it.The Constitution breeds and protects practices and criminal impunity in governance. It can never be beneficially reviewed and the ongoing adjustment or amendment can only totally bloat the essence of national values and accelerate the amalgamation of Nigeria.”
The APC Chieftain also suggested a re-adoption of the 1963 regional constitution, stressing that it will enable a transition to the writing of a more acceptable and unified constitution.
http://politicsngr.com/2017/07/26/restructuring-1999-constitution-scrapped-bisi-akande/ Gud talk this time maybe some Yoruba leaders are coming to their senses: In two days ago one Yoruba leader said, 'some criminals are in politics' and another one said, '1999 constitution should be scraped'. |
