we did call it Sileti (Slate)!
Then, when going to our 'Jeleosinmi' (lesson before one starts school), we would tie the 'Sileti' to our neck cos it has a rope attached to it with our plate in our sac bag and 25k coin in our pocket. No book, no pencil and no pen. Our Teacher(female), would be visiting each pupil's house one by one from the farthest to get us to the Lesson. we would be going like the ducklings in front of our teacher.
I remember this song;
Olodo rabata Sileti lo o ma lo o o ni lo beeba sior, oloju eja sior, oloju Eran sior, oloju monkey! |

lawanson44: Meaning he is only interested in his profits than in service delivery? Him nyash there! that isn't the point. Though the number 1aim of every businessman is profit, you will agree that he needs more money to stabilize and perfect his services. Exactly what may happen, using the revenue from other places to do that. Typical example is the Vodacom and MTN issue in South Africa where vodacom was winning the competition. MTN is still sustained as a telecom provider by the revenue from other countries. |

importexpert: This is our problem. Glo currently has 1 of the worst network in nigeria. Instead of perfecting their services in areas they hv occupied they r xpending. the business isn't like that. The venturing into other places won't really affect the upgrading of Nigeria service but improve through acquired revenue. It is a strategic way of expanding ones market. If he upgrades his service here, the effect will be negligible cos of the competition. MTN, Etisalat et al will also do the upgrading to annul the effect. Comium already has a customers of about 900,000, which is good to go for an investment. As a businessman, it pays him. |

psalmizt: Let's just we re having intellectual discuss as neither of us have a factual verifiable fact as regards the population census in Nigeria. Am not sure landmass alone is a yardstick for the determining the population of a region. This has always been the logic for attributing higher census figures to the North. Which I blv is unfair. Who has ever heard of a populous desert or semi arid Region? Beats commonla accepted demographics of more population in the tropical region. Oh well, we work with what we have for now. after Nigeria, Ethiopia and Egypt comes second and third respectively on the list of African population hierarchy, what region are they? even more populous than the likes of Democratic Republic of Congo, Angola, South Africa of larger and similar landmass placed below the arid region. Both the North and the South statistics aren't real and correct. it sounds bias, partial and interested to say the North is overestimated and the South underestimated. |

What justification(s) have you to prove that? https://www.business-travel-nigeria.com/images/map_of_nigeria.gifBauchi state is approximately about 1 3/ 4 the landmass of the whole South-East region by my data. The population of the state can't be categorically doubted to be lower than the NBS and NPC's statistics if density is your yardstick. |
Sports › Re: Team Nigeria Women Wins Gold At IAAF World Relay by Tolexander: 9:57am On May 03, 2015 |
There may have been world records and shock defeats in other events, but the women’s 4x200m was the most dramatic final on the first day of the IAAF/BTC World Relays, Bahamas 2015.
Pre-event favourites USA looked to be on course to successfully defend their title from last year, after Shalonda Solomon, Kimberlyn Duncan and Jeneba Tarmoh had built up a comfortable lead on the first three legs.
But then disaster struck on the final changeover between Tarmoh and Allyson Felix. The Olympic 200m champion couldn’t quite get a solid grip on the baton as Tarmoh then bumped into her before Felix fell to the ground, their medal hopes dashed.
There was drama too for the host nation as their second changeover was well outside of the zone. The Bahamas carried on and eventually crossed the line in second place, but they were soon disqualified.
It meant that Nigeria were the surprise victors, winning in 1:30.52 to take two seconds off the national record they set earlier this year. World bronze medallist Blessing Okagbare led the team off before the baton was passed to Regina George, Dominique Duncan and Christy Udoh.
Jamaica finished a distant second in 1:31.73, one-and-a-half seconds slower than their time from last year, but one place higher on the podium. Germany were third in 1:33.61 while China set an Asian record of 1:34.89 in fourth http://www.iaaf.org/news/report/women-4x200m-world-relays-2015 |

Imagine Nigeria Army, respected in Africa for the Peace Keeping being humiliated by an internal insurgence. Apart from the political undertone, is it not possible for the empowered civilians with history of terrorizing the nation to deal in ammunitions to divert the ammunitions to the people behind the insurgency since it is business?
With a sober sincerity of mind, Jonathan has done more harms in arms than good in goods to the nation. |
