Politics › Impeachment Threat: I Am Ready To Negotiate With APC Lawmakers — Fayose by Tolexander(op): 2:43am On Apr 19, 2015*. Modified: 2:58am On Apr 19, 2015 |
The face -off between the 19 All Progressives Congress (APC) lawmakers in Ekiti State House of Assembly and Governor Ayo Fayose may soon be over, as the governor says he is willing to negotiate with the lawmakers
The lawmakers are pushing for the impeachment of the governor, as they have directed the state Chief Judge, Justice Ayodeji Daramola, to constitute a panel to investigate allegations of gross misconduct levelled against him and his deputy, Dr. Kolapo Olusola
Speaking on Friday during a thanksgiving service at Ansar ud Deen Mosque, Ado Ekiti on his victory at the Supreme Court, which affirmed his election, Fayose said he was ready to sit with the lawmakers and negotiate.
This statement was not without a caveat as the governor clarified that he was ready to make peace with the lawmakers as long as they were ready to embrace the move in the over all interest of the state.
“I am not opposed to anything that can bring peace; peace cannot be wished away. I’m ready to accommodate everybody. Whatever they want, we can sit down and talk”, the governor stated.
“There is no perfect man. They should allow peace to reign. All I want is peace that will energise development”.
He said he was waving the olive branch in the overall interest of Ekiti people as well as restoration of peace.
Fayose said he had received calls and appeals for amicable solution to the lingering crisis by eminent Nigerians, religious leaders as well as traditional rulers.
The governor apologized to those he might have offended one way or the other, in the course of carrying out his duties as governor saying only God was perfect. http://www.vanguardngr.com/2015/04/impeachment-threat-i-am-ready-to-negotiate-with-apc-lawmakers-fayose/ |

Politics › Re: What Is The Difference Between Military Head Of State And Military President? by Tolexander: 9:18am On Apr 03, 2015 |
OrlandoOwoh: Babangida is referred to as such because around 1992/3, we practised diarchy, where the military and civilians rule. At the centre, Babangida was the military president. At the states, civilians were the governors. During this period, Ogbonnaya Onu was the Abia State Governor. Rufus Ada-George - Rivers State. Isiaka Adele - Osun State. Audu Ibrahim - Kogi State. these ex governors seem to be the governor of their respective states when IBB was tricking nigerians to usher in democracy after organising the election at the state level. The differnce between the two questions by OP is IBB allowed more civilians in his administration. |

This is damn funny. no, probably they felt things like this only happen in Nigeria and they've been stereotyped and programmed. Remembering the Chibok girls kidnap, Mubi Polytechnic students massacre and Burning of Yobe State polytechnic! |

Officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission who participated in last Saturday’s presidential and National Assembly election and those who will take part in the governorship and state Houses of Assembly election on April 11 have been insured for N1.99m each. praying we won't record cases where some parents will plan the mudering of their child serving at the polling unit so as to receive this money. This is nigeria where many parents have used their children for ritual. |

"You can't eat your corn and have it" lol! Though Aregbesola is a scammer, Omisore doesn't have the integrity and intelligence to unseat him. The outcome of the presidential election in the state has provided a justification to the gubernatorial results cos they are of similar digits and figures from the local governments. |

Politics › Re: Chancellor Merkel Invites Buhari To Germany by Tolexander: 6:05am On Apr 03, 2015 |
PaulJohn1: Can our president invite a president-elect of any europian or north American nation? but the fact remains that nigeria has got negligible offering to the election in those nations you mentioned, we looked up to them for a peaceful conduct of election and transition. If the election had gone against our wish, they are the same nations we would called on for help though they may choose no to respond. Let these developed nations celeberate our President-elect, it is not easy to persistently contest 4 consecutive presidential elections in this nation. It doesn't translate into playing puppet to them. |
Politics › Re: Chancellor Merkel Invites Buhari To Germany by Tolexander: 5:31am On Apr 03, 2015 |
PaulJohn1: And must the president-elect travel down to these countries interested in intensifying close cooperation with Nigeria? What's preventing them all from moving their butts up here since they're the ones who wanna make friend? President-elect should make his people proud and not turn to a puppet that's gonna be so soft to control by these fellas. I think he needs travelling to these countries inviting him for now that he hasn't been sworn in. |
Politics › Re: Femi Gbajabiamila Is The Next Speaker House Of Representatives by Tolexander: 12:43am On Apr 02, 2015 |
donphilopus: That's the mistake most of them are making. 80% of Nairalanders believe that APC doesn't have any Senator from the entire South South/Southeast region. Unknown to them that Edo North is still a part of that region. Though the Senator-elect is a relatively unpopular man but he's an APC member. What happened to Hosea Ayoola Agboola may happen to him as well. amazes why some people leave out Edo when it comes to the South-south politics. i don't see south-south having the senate president though! |
Politics › Re: Femi Gbajabiamila Is The Next Speaker House Of Representatives by Tolexander: 12:20am On Apr 02, 2015 |
bigass: have you forgetten that there's no APC member from SS and besides Yorubas sacrificed the position of Speaker to NW because of what is playing out now. what about the house of rep seats won in Edo State or is Edo no more in the south-south? North-east can then have the post if none is qualified in the south-south. |

Franklyly: Nigerians will probably achieve consensus on no other matter than their common resentment of the Igbo.........culled from Chinua Achebe's last work "There was a country". .....How I wish that Achebe's premises were wrong or at least its validity reduced to some extent in the last few decades, but that is not to be the case, follow the comments on any ethnicity issues of Nigeria on social media and see how we throw insults at each other with so much animosity.....my simple question is "WHY ARE WE TRYING SO HARD TO BE TOGETHER AS ONE NATION WHEN WE HATE EACH OTHER SO MUCH" pls anybody with useful answers should please comment because am still trying so hard to wrap my head around it! Ndigbo should stop playing the victim games, of course they've always shot themselves in the leg. amala and ewedu and cattle rearers aren't people to associate with, forgetting these people are needed for the figures they need from them. |

emiye: I wont like that, and i pray it doesnt happen like that, i feel PDP will only go back to the drawing board, and learn to use their governed states as models, and keep putting pressure on APC at the centre. APC must not have a breathing space for too long, they must be put on their toes. you just have to understand the nigerian politics. If PDP crashes at the center, definitely it will lose many of it's members to APC to enjoy the national cake. The crevices of the party won't be strong enough to withstand the ruling party. |
