LateefRaj: No son of Aregbesola was arrested for money laundering
It has become pertinent to inform Nigerians and others generally that there is no iota of truth in the story being peddled around by some misguided elements claiming that a son of Governor Rauf Aregbesola of Osun, Kabir Aregbesola was arrested at the Muritala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos today Tuesday May 12, 2015 with a huge sum of money in foreign currencies.
We have discovered the the authors of the wicked and malicious lie are doggedly pursuing their agenda by engaging in an aggressive push for the falsehood to reach a larger population especially using the social media.
The younger Aregbesola neither traveled anywhere nor had any encounter with any security personnel today. It is obvious the evil minds at work are out to drag an innocent young man’s name into this dirt in order to get at his father.
Aregbesola has maintained a life of a moderate family man with a set of highly disciplined children who cannot be found wanting on issues of morals and societal values
Members of the public are therefore urged to dismiss the falsehood because it is just another handiwork of mischievous minds.

igraman: I just heard that Aregbesola's son was arrested at Muritala Mohamed Airport today in possession of $800,000, that is N170million Naira equivalent. He was on his way outside the country. Same Aregbesola that couldn't pay the Osun workers their almost 7 months salaries can afford to give his son N170million naira, equivalent to $800,000? If they don't kill this news and it is confirmed, I'll say Osun people got the governor they deserved. Ę ku iroju lowo Ogboni Aregbe. these are the sources i could get for the news but not very reliable anywayy. APC Osun State Gov Rauf Aregbesola Son, Kabiru arrested in Lagos MMA1 enroute UAE with over N178million #MoneyLaundering This afternoon at the departure wing of the Muritala Muhammed Airport II, Lagos, there was a littlepandemonium over the arrest of a young man identified as Kabiru by people around and later identified as the son of the Osun State Governor over a huge sum of money being caught in his luggage as it was not accounted for by the young man. Acccording to the eye witness who identified himself as Mr Steven Adebola told NGReports that while the environment was brought to calm after some calls were made to the senior immigration officers and finally the presence of Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola which led to the conclusion that he’s his son and the whole issue was settled in a senior officer’s office! Text messages were sent to the Commissioner of Information of the State of Osun’s Government on the incidence as we asked if that was the remaining funds for campaign being laundered out of the country but he denied the purpose of the funds though he confirmed the presidential campaign funds were still remaining. Investigations are still being done on the incident
http://scannewsnigeria.com/news/despite-osun-state-government-inability-to-pay-salaries-aregbesolas-son-is-allegedly-arrested-with-n178m-at-mma/ OSUN State workers have given Governor Rauf Aregbesola 14 days to pay their outstanding six month salary arrears of face a full blown strike in what has been a difficult 24 hours for the governor whose son was arrested in Lagos for attempted money laundering. Civil servants in Osun State have not been paid for six months now, forcing the state chapter of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and Trade Union Congress (TUC) to issue the governor with an ultimatum. After a meeting between the unions and the government failed to resolve the matter, Governor Aregbesola has been given two weeks to pay the outstanding arrears of face full strike action. This latest development comes at the same time that Governor Aregbesola's son Kabiru was arrested at the Murtala Mohammed International Airport in Lagos with N178m ($912,820) in cash stocked in his luggage. According to airport sources, Kabiru Aregbesola was on his way to the United Arab Emirates when he was apprehended after an airport scan revealed the money. Unconfirmed reports indicate that upon being arrested, Kabiru is said to have called his father who rushed down to Lagos and requested to see the immigration officers that arrested his son. According to the eyewitnesses, Governor Aregbesola then held a meeting with the officials in a senior officer's office, where the matter was resolved. Although that issue might have been resolved, Governor Aregbesola still faces the threat of a full blown strike as his government is one of those incapable of clearing the backlog of salary arrears due to a reduction of the federal allocation. According to labour sources, a meeting held yesterday between representatives of the Osun State government and a joint negotiating council, representing the workers, was inconclusive and fruitless.

Adewuyi explained that Mrs. Jonathan was elected President in July 2012 and was meant to serve for two years, according to the group’s internal regulation.
He further said that while her tenure ought to have ended in 2014, when a fresh election should have held, the President’s wife drew the attention of her colleagues to the then forthcoming election in Nigeria, which preparation would not enable her host the summit. What had the Nigerian general election meant to hold in February 2015 have to do with the election of the African first lady election meant to hold in July 2014, since it is a two year term? So obvious from the news, in the process of defending the First Lady of trying to fence out Aisha Buhari from becoming the president of the Mission, the Spokesman has exposed the outgoing First Lady out of. Two-year term? By calculation, her tenure will be definitely be 3years in July, if her plan goes as scheduled in July, exceeding her tenure. This woman and Power! |
Politics › Summit: Patience Jonathan Denies Blocking Buhari’s Wife by Tolexander(op): 4:59am On May 13, 2015 |
Wife of the President, Mrs. Patience Jonathan, on Tuesday denied media reports that her plan to host the 8th summit of the African First Ladies Peace Mission on Friday is designed to deny the wife of the President-elect, Hajia Aisha Buhari, the opportunity of becoming the President of the mission.
Mrs. Jonathan, who is the current President, had summoned a meeting of the mission during which new executive members are expected to emerge.
Media reports had it that the election would have been held in July but the President’s wife brought it back to May to allow her successor to emerge before her husband will cease to be President from May 29.
But a statement by Mr. Ayo Adewuyi, on Tuesday said there was no truth in the reports.
According to him, Mrs. Jonathan therefore proposed that the summit should hold after the general elections, and it was accordingly agreed that it should be held in July 2015.
Adewuyi however added that there was an understanding among members that if President Goodluck Jonathan did not succeed in his re-election bid, the President’s wife would convene the summit in May to enable the election of a new President and ensure a smooth handover since her tenure has ended.
The statement read in part, “Arising from the above, it is therefore clear that this is not a personal matter nor specifically a Nigeria sole affair but a continental platform governed by its own rules and protocols just as similar international organisations.
“It would therefore be out of place for anyone to insinuate that it is intended to shut out the incoming First Lady. This cannot be farther from the truth.
“We state therefore without any iota of equivocation that it is mischievous for anyone to scheme to cause disaffection between the outgoing and incoming First Ladies, Dame Patience Jonathan, and Hajia Aisha Buhari.
“Let us therefore come together in our tradition of hospitality to heartily welcome our guests, the African First Ladies, as they arrive Abuja for the 8th Summit of the Mission.
“Let us always remember that the personal ambition of anybody is not worth destroying the image of the nation.” http://www.punchng.com/news/summit-patience-jonathan-denies-blocking-buharis-wife/ |

The resignation of Adamu Muazu is just the beginning of the extinction of the party. Cos there is no more authority at the center that will impose the candidacy of any new leader leading to the party being factionalized.
The continuity of Adamu Muazu as the party leader remains the continuation of the doom that has befallen the party because in few months time, the party will be divided between Muazu's lover and the members craving for his exit as the leader of the party.
[b]in short, PDP is on the verge of nomenclatural and partizan extinction! |

The president-elect also refused to accept the request for a bailout for the states that have been unable to pay their workers salaries, with a source saying the General rejected the proposal. He told them that he was aware the Federal Government was not owing the states their allocations. The source close to the discussion told the Nigerian Tribune that Buhari told the governors that those of them in their second terms do not have any excuse about the state of government finances, as they have all been collecting allocations from the Federal Government and some people are here being scammed by Osun State Governor that the FG has refused to release the allocation to the state |
