Some of the Ad-Hoc staff of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in anger, lashed out at the Channels TV crew, complaining that they were not well catered for. The corps members said that they were made to sleep on bare floor, adding that no light nor water was provided for them to ease their duty. In aggression, they threatened to smash the camera of the crew, for daring to record them while collating the result in
the dark.

However, the corps members ended up collating the result for over two hours without light.

The Rivers State Police Command has disputed claims by the state government that some thugs shot at the governor’s convoy on Thursday.

The governor’s spokesperson, David Iyofor, had said the incident happened in Rumuolumeni, Obio Akpor area of Port Harcourt.

However, the Rivers State command spokesperson, Muhammed Ahmad, in a statement said contrary to the report, shots were actually fired from the governor’s convoy.

The police said Mr. Amaechi merely raised false alarm to win public sympathy to back his “bogus” claim of being targeted by assassins.

1. The Rivers State Police Command wishes to react to the news that went viral on both normal and social media quoting David Iyofor, Chief Press Secretary to Rivers State Governor to the effect that gun shots were fired at the convoy of his principal at Rumuolumeni, Obio/Akpor Local Government.

2. To put the records straight, after a successful and peaceful rally under the close watch of Policemen led by the Divisional Police Officer of the area, shots were indiscriminately fired from the convoy of the Governor for reasons best known to them, as against the wispy claim of David Iyofor. No shots were fired at the convoy of the Governor.

3. The false alarm which is the usual penchant of the State Government may not be unconnected with the bogus claim of assassination attempt by his principal that is to just whip up public sympathy.

4. The Command urges politicians to refrain from whipping sentiments by toying with security issues to create needless public panic, where there is none, please.

I've witnessed a situation where a kid not up to 17yrs had the boldness to tell me to my face she loves me cos I normally buy from her mum shop. She boldly asked for my digits. I was dazed though a part of me felt good for the compliment. I gave her my digits and she called an hour latter and I gave her a big brotherly advice of her facing her studies for she's too young to be involved in such matters. Not that I'm a super human or condemn those that engage in such but, most times these kids can manipulate guys into such matters. She respects me more now and a lot more trusting to tell me what kids in her age groups are up and doing. I still blame fathers who have abandoned their duties. I can't imagine having daughters and leaving them un guided out there in the jungle.

Bro, i can confidently tell you that the labour union in Osun State isn't bribed but absolutely bought by the State Goverment.

The State NLC chairman(Saka Adesiyan, a grade ii primary school teacher not yet an headmaster) lives not far from my house, his hotel is just a stone throw to my house but at the other side of the state-owned mokuro road to his house. I even heard he's got a filling station, though not yet confirmed.

Before the election in August last year, the road construction leading to his house was awarded likewise another road leading to his hotel. Both roads were completed 2weeks ago. The two roads lead to nowhere than his house and hotel.

Heard and confirmed his house got burnt twice and was completely renovated by the state government (i very know when the first fire incidence happened].

Tell me how a NLC Chairman with such benefits will antagonize the state government.
