Is that what you are taught in your classroom kid? I am sure the reduction of agencies operating at the ports from 14 to 7 was not done by Tinubu! I do know that the clearing time at our ports had been reduced from 39 days to 7 days and mind you the target is 48 hours! I am well aware that 9 dams had been completed for power generation in Akwa Ibom, Katsina, Enugu and Ondo States! How about those 375,000 farmers spread across Nigeria that now have access to irrigate land! What are you going to say about 2,400 youths that had benefitted from the YouWin scheme since 2011, not counting another 1,200 to benefit from the largese this year? What are you going to say about the merging of redundant ICPC to EFCC? Are you going to pretend too that you are not aware that 9 new federal universities are now added to existing ones while funding of the remaining federal ones are still one! Our teaching hospitals are being refurbished with the state-of-the art equipment that is of world standard! How about the completed Onitsha port! What can I say about the refurbishment of over 200 coaches and wagons for our railing system? Are you not aware of the job done at the main rail lines neglected for the 15 years being brought back to life by Jonathan administration? Lagos-Kano (about 1,124km completed), Port Harcourt-Maiduguri (to be completed this year), Itakpe-Ajaokuta-Warri (almost done) and Abuja-Kaduna Standard Guage Line (80% completed) and many more ranging from foreign investors to over 600 km of roads paved with bitumen in 2012 alone! Apapa-Oshodi Expressway, Benin-Ore-Shagamu highway, Abuja-Abaji-Lokoja dualization, Kano-Maiduguri dualization, Onitsha-Owerri expressway etc Mr, this is just a tip of the iceberg of what Jonathan is about to accomplish, all within his two years, yes 2 years! I know your warped mind alongside your mates are made up for APC, you may run along now we shall meet at the polls come 2015 cool

Katsumoto: lmao don't lose your marbles yet Tomakint. grin grin grin grin grin

What repeated posts are you referring to? I haven't seen them. Can you provide GEJ's successes using specific, measurable benchmarks. If a road was built, provide it. Let me remind you that renovation alone is not development or can be termed success. If hospitals were built, list them.

I just need you to be specific.

BTW, I can see through your ad hominem and diversionary strategies - you throw points (civil war, kiriji, etc) into the debate despite them not having any relevance to the debate. Tomakint take your time and list GEJ's successes. You must be ready to supply proof as well.

Katsumoto: Tomakint

It shouldn't take you this long to list the successes of GEJ. Ok, let me make it easier - include his successes as governor of Bayelsa. If you can't list his successes, you should at least tell us why you are a main supporter.

1. You are getting paid
2. You are from the same region
3. You or a member of your family is getting fat on govt contracts
4. You have bought the lies about the opposition

Please don't shy away from this challenge.
Katz with due respect may be you stick with the history of Yorubas especially on the Ogedengbe exploits and kiriji war, or the civil war fiasco seems you are well intune with that frequency undecided Despite repeated posts here on Jonathan many successes on our railing systems, agriculture, electoral reforms, youths empowerment, aviation, road construction, foreign reserves, education, power sector, etc you still have the effrontery to ask me that silly question! Truly, you must be from Kyoto!
Politics › Re: All Progressive Congress (APC) Nairaland Chapter by tomakint: 4:02pm On Jul 10, 2013
Katsumoto: Yes, corruption has always been an issue in Nigeria. My point is that it has gotten worse under GEJ.

Can you explain why Tompolo has a contract for securing Nigeria's territorial waters when Nigeria has a Navy?

Can you explain why a wanted international fugitive (Alams) is close to the president?

Can you explain why GEJ is building new universities when existing ones are not being appropriately funded?

Can you explain why Nigeria's debt profile is rising despite record oil revenues?

Can you explain why Nigeria's external reserves were depleted just before GEJ won the last election?

Can you explain why there has been little activity in charging corrupt officials despite the high charge rate in OBJ's government (even if it was a witch hunt, thief na thief)?

Please engage me in a debate and stop resorting to slide remarks. Use this as an opportunity to sell your man. Tell us why you believe in GEJ. What do you believe to be his successes?

That things have always existed is no reason for them to always exist. Bold leaders take bold actions.
Why are you personalizing this debate in your usual manners? I stated my position in my other reply to you by saying PDP is ACN or APC the more reason I gave those names my concern is the good job Jonathan is currently doing and the solid foundation he is laying which you guys cannot see now! As for your clownish questions, I say to you, where were you when your funky mallam lords were busy sharing the oil wells among themselves shortly after the civil war? Where were you when Shagari was busy wasting billions of our money among his cronies? where were you when IBB was institutionalizing corruption in an unprecedented manner? Where were you when Obj was enriching his cronies through bogus contracts and unnecessary creations of agencies? Where were you when Tinubu was siphoning tax payers monies to build mansions, hotels all around Lagos? Where were you when the same Tinubu made her daughter the new Iyaloja under a democratic setting? Where were you when kuforiji, an ACN speaker of Lagos House of Assembly was alleged to have defrauded to the tunes of billions of naira? Many more questions for you but let me stop there! Unfortunately, you expect Jonathan to lift Nigeria up within 3 years from this perennial mess we have been over the years! You must be a huge joke! Sail on with your APC, I wish you safe journey!
Politics › Re: All Progressive Congress (APC) Nairaland Chapter by tomakint: 2:19pm On Jul 10, 2013
Katsumoto: What are you on about? Which political leaders were travelling abroad for treatment pre-1966? Which lecturers were on strike pre-1966? Which universities were decaying pre-1966? How many times was the contract for the Niger bridge awarded without work being done pre-1966? Or the Lagos-Ibadan road for that matter?

Lets even agree that all these problems existed pre-1966, aren't leaders supposed to bring change? If your GEJ can't bring change, why does he covet power so much? Why not step aside for someone who is willing to tackle the problems? At some point, Nigeria needs a leader who will stop referring to the past and using it as an excuse. Clearly, your brother GEJ is not that leader. Corruption is worse under GEJ. Seriously, who awards the contract for policing territorial waters to an illiterate individual? Who has an uncouth illiterate wife who refuses to shut up and insists on being seen? Who has received record oil revenues and has nothing tangible to show for it except repainting some airports? And despite these record oil revenues, who is overseeing Nigeria's rising debt profile?

Whilst I have no love for Ikimi, ogbeh, and some other funny characters, PDP has a significantly greater number of thugs and thieves - OBJ, Daniel, Bode George, Anenih, Deziani, Atiku, IBB, Ibori, Uduaghan, Dickson, Alams, Ubah brothers, etc. I could go on and on with the shady lot in your midst. Buhari may not be the best option but I believe he, out of those visible and with the best possibility of being elected, represents the best option to deal with Nigeria's main problem - corruption. A buhari led government with Fashola as vice and Ribadu as EFCC/Police force will take Nigeria places.
Corruption had been a perennial nutcase in the political history of this country stop your lies that corruption under Jonathan had been unprecedented it's a pity you have been 'bought over'! Once again I wish you safe journey!
Politics › Re: All Progressive Congress (APC) Nairaland Chapter by tomakint: 1:45pm On Jul 10, 2013
Katsumoto: What is my political leaning? If you mean anti-PDP/failure, then you are correct. In any case, ACN being merged with other parties will give some balance to the party and provide a much needed opposition to the failure PDP. I don't understand why it is so difficult to understand that a solid opposition is always good for democracy. In what post did someone make comparisons between Nigerian politics and western nation politics?

Your PDP led government has been in power since 1999 and in that time, Nigeria has become more factional, a symptom of the failures of PDP. Corruption, Nepotism, brigandry are on the rise. Nelson Mandela is being treated in a hospital in SA but all PDP leaders, presidents and their wives, governors and their wives, etc are all still flying overseas for treatment. GEJ is building new universities when existing ones are decaying, lecturers are on strike. PDP democracy is equal to 16 being greater than 19 (NGF), 16 outvoting 19 (OGUN), 5 outvoting 27 (Rivers).

I mean, aren't you guys ashamed of your failures? Don't you get sickened by the rot in the system and the concomitant stench? I suppose you wouldn't mind as long as some bread crumbs are getting to you. I maintain that the only folks who wholeheartedly support PDP are
1. Those from the same region as GEJ
2. Those who are paid aka Reno, insincere 9gerian, Mr no shame (Abati), ever-present liar (Okupe)
3. Those who benefit from cronyism ala deziani
4. Those who have been fooled by lies about the opposition

which one are you Tomakint?
So all the problems you raised are the creation of PDP? The military struck in 1966 as a result of the problems you raised here, you seem to have forgotten that Nigeria's perennial problems are Nigerians and not PDP, ACN, APC etc It's a pity you failed to learn from history about the political structure of Nigeria which is still standing till date is 'godfatherism'. Your analyses, grammar here will not change that except their is a revolution! Jonathan as far as I am concerned had worked more than his predecessors within 2 years go figure that out! If at your level, a Tinubu led party, with the extreme radicality of Buhari, ineptitude of Tom Ikimi, chameleonic nature of Audu Ogbeh, and the likes are now your political leaning, I can only wish you safe journey!

donroxy: Tomakint,

What exactly is ur point ?

Why do you think we don't need APC in this dispensation ?

Why should PDP remain the only dominant party in the polity of over 160million people ?

Do u think APC emerged at the inappropriate time simply cuz of ur love for GEJ/PDP ?

What do Nigerians stand to lose from the emergence of APC ?

How much disadvantaged would average Nigerian as a result of Mega-Competition between APC and PDP ?

How do U think we are gonna ''emancipate'' under PDP without equal competition from APC ?

What is the way forward in your own view with PDP but without APC ?

:::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::

Kindly answer these questions one after the other for Objectivity and Clarity's sake !!!
I thought we've passed through this road before and we both had a gentleman's agreement on my position regarding what I believed in partisan politics which is not my fancy! Don I have been objective enough with you! Jonathan need 6 more years to finish his good works and that he will accomplish! If AD/ACN had been in charge of Lagos since 1999 and Lagos is still in that state, then if you are a true political analyst, you will know that if APC succeeds with the calibre of politicians in its fold then the political future of this contraption can only be more gloomy because of divergent views from these desperate strange bed fellows. Leave it or take it, PDP is still more politically organized than the APC you guys are trying hard to sell! My political view has been 'a blend of rightist and leftist standpoint' and this is what Jonathan has shaped PDP to be!

Gbawe: One thing crystal clear about all of them is that they can never lead with their thoughts and actions. All they are capable of doing is speaking after others and generally 'shadowing' the thought and actions of others even when the Party they support is the ruling Party. That in itself is enough of a sign the PDP is a failed project with failed leaders and failed supporters.

It is the inferiority complex, that stems from how some do not deserve what they have with their supporters knowing this, that leaves them all looking over their shoulder at what others are doing/saying. That is why they talk about Tinubu and Buhari to the extent a non-Nigerian may be forgiven for thinking those men are the formal leaders of Nigeria. This is why, on Nairaland, their modus operandi is limited to attacking the messengers always and focusing on fellow forumers instead of the real issues.

Even their Party at large does this with how Maku, Okupe, Abati et al spend their time reacting to every utterance of Fashola, El Rufai, Tinubu et al. We have all seen this in real life and know the characters who put the saying below in perspective same as this twerp is shouting Gbawe, Jarus , Katsumoto et al. Rather than simply going to do his own idea-based thing to convince others the messiah he worships is best, all he is capable of doing is sitting here pettily and undemocratically attempting cheap character assassination against others who have the freedom to support whoever they want and associate as they want. We know this agbero thing , indicative of lack of class and finesse, is also the style of the PDP at large. Like leader like supporter. Why not leave people be? Abi na by force?

Gbawe: Simple as that. Very immature and childish character. APC appears newly registered and Jarus already wants to organise a formal structure here. When have we seen all these charlatans who follow GEJ clannishly ever attempted such here? You will never see it because these clannish dulards are not about anything progressive or developmental. Not a single one of them, from how they speak here, supports the PDP out of ideological belief that the PArty is best for Nigeria.

All you will see them do, from now on, is what they are doing now i.e not minding their business and disturbing others with their petty market women behaviour. they say "nobody can defeat GEJ PDP" and that "APC is dead on arrival" so why are they on this thread commenting ? Why not simply go home and sleep till after the 2015 election and leave others to support whoever they want and associate as they want?
Every supporter of Jonathan is clannish and childish in character according to Gbawe's dictionary undecided ok then let me leave 'matured Gbawe' to keep on hallucinating as usual!

Gbawe: Your own opinion and you are welcomed to it. The classy thing to do would be to leave others to exercise their right to freedom of association without you hanging around as a prophet of doom. You have said what you think. No need to remain here repeating the same thing like a broken record.

What I know is that APC supporters are miles ahead of the PDP supporters here in terms of unity, intelligence, passion for their cause, detribalized mien and organisational ability. The good thing is that a gathering of APC supporters here automatically precludes the biggest irritants, most clannish twerps, dullest minds and most irredeemably bigoted and prejudiced characters here. That is a good start I am personally thankful for. Supporters are like their political Parties and I know PDP supporters here will never get organised as APC supporters can because most of them simply follow individuals/ethnic groups/religion and not the fundamental idea of getting behind a team of Nigerian 'good guys'who can occupy the most influential offices and make them work together to take Nigeria where she needs to go.

I will certainly help out Jarus anyway I can because I know the support of the PDP here is largely clannish, ethnocentric and not ideologically/intellectually driven. I can bet, if Seun has no objections, it will be the Jarus APC effort that will see Nairaland progressively hosting Ribadu, El Rufai, Aregbesola et al here and doing ground-breaking things while PDP/GEJ fans will only engage in politic of rancour, insults and pettiness. Guy, you say "dead on arrival", I say let us all "enjoy the ride".

You need to interact with common people all over Lagos surburbs (the same people who would vote on election day) to understand just how unpopular Fashola and his gang of elitist thieves in the ACN have become in the state. If the PDP fails to win Lagos in 2015, the party should be disbanded.
Just to second your well cut out observation, PDP needs not struggle to grab Lagos from the hand of Tinubu if they can field a matured and seasoned technocrat that knew his onions, also if PDP can concentrate their campaigns more at the mainland axis of Lagos and thereafter move to the Island they can pull the string!
