What is Everest ?

The thread says College/University and someone is mentioning Everest Institute. Everest Institute is a trade school and does not belong here.

Seun needs to delete that post from this thread.
InvestmentRe: Best Nigerian Mutual Funds To Invest In? by Tonim(op): 9:17am On May 28, 2007
I agree, IBTC is the best. But the ARMS folks are okay too, I think it's cheap at less than N300 per unit.

@everyone,

How does one know the individual stocks (and others) that the mutual funds are invested in ? Can this be found online ?

FYI, I bought them off an Igbo who said he bought them off a Bini man. I do no deals with Yoruba to avoid being stabbed at the back; and that area where my properties are is populated by non-Yorubas.
You might want to leave Nairaland as well because it is owned by a yoruba man.

And I agree with Laudate, why are you buying land in Yorubaland if this is how you feel about them ? Hypocrite.

tonim,
mutual funds are exactly what you need as a new investor and to tell you the truth, ARM mutual funds especially the aggressive growth investment is befitting for a young guy who has money to invest, it was selling for N190 per unit in january and right now as im talking to you it is selling for N306 per unit ie is about 57% in 5 months, it is aggressive because of its strategic asset allocation, it has 90% of its total funds invested in equities. it is 2yrs old and has returned 200% since inception ie it started at N100 per unit and is already N306 today, it is not yet listed but will soon go public.
contact me on sweetestjoy4u@hotmail.com for more details. i work with ARM so i think i can inform you better.
Thanks so much sweetstjoy. I noticed that the aggressive growth fund hasn't gone public yet, because it is not listed on ARM's website. If I wanted to buy into it, how will this be possible if it has not gone public ?

Also, the information on ARM's website (discovery fund) is very old, the latest info there dates back to 2004. Please tell the folks at ARM that they need to update their website. We need to know the price per unit since inception to date (for the discovery fund etc). IBTC has all this information on their website.

@everyone, are there any other mutual funds in Nigeria worth investing in other than IBTC and ARM ?

thanks for your input, I really appreciate it.
InvestmentRe: Best Nigerian Mutual Funds To Invest In? by Tonim(op): 5:40pm On May 20, 2007
thanks so much everyone. I am looking into the ARM and IBTC as we speak.

The last annual return for ARM was in 2004 based on their website. They really need to update it to 2006.

PoliticsRe: Good Things Happening In Nigeria by Tonim(f): 5:39am On May 20, 2007
Do you know that irregularities in a market can force banks to finance inefficient or lesser efficient projects?. . .I fail to see any of these decisions as "best" until those banks show me that the same funds allocated to Tinapa couldn't have been of greater use elsewhere.
No one is talking about "best" here. I think this thread is pointing out that the banks are financing projects in the real sector of Nigeria, which never used to be the case prior to the consolidation in the banking sector.

Every $ allocated to Tinapa means $1 less to road safety, education, private enterprises and etcetera.
It is not the bank's responsibility to ensure road safety and education, that is the role of the government. You this Donzman character, if you don't have any thing sensisible to say, you should just be quiet.

Fellow Nairalanders

My name is Tonim, I want to invest some money in Nigeria's growing stock market. I am more interested in Mutual Funds because they are more diversified than stocks.

Could anyone please tell me the best mutual fund(s) in Nigeria and any website I can use for further information ?

Thanks so much.

BusinessRe: Why Are Major Oil Companies In Nigeria Controlled By Yorubas And Hausas? by Tonim(f): 7:56pm On May 11, 2007
Remove oil coming from the forner Eastern region
The oil belongs to the south south not south east. You are just whining because you were denied the opportunity to keep the oil to yourselves rather than sharing it with others. Quit whining.

BigSis:
But believe me, African American women consider you to the least of all men.  You are simply unattractive men, who just happen to be in power at this moment in human history.

Africans are incredibly gullible.
@BigSis,

if we are so gullible and subjugate ourselves to whites, then why are you married to one of our men ? I was going through this thread
https://www.nairaland.com/nigeria/topic-10762.0.html#msg298507 were you mentioned that you are married to a Nigerian.

You said African American women consider Nigerians the least of all men, that we Nigerians are gullible right ?. So Please explain how is it you are married to one of our men  undecided

Quote from BigSis

I am married to a Nigerian, and I would not tolerate my husband lording his cultural values on me or my children
PoliticsRe: Nigerian And Us Presidential Voting Process. What's The Difference? by Tonim(f): 6:23pm On May 02, 2007
This is INEC's website. You can browse through it to aid you in your assignment.

http://www.inecnigeria.org/index.php

This is a copy of Nigeria's constitution. It could also aid you in your assignment

http://www.nigeria-law.org/ConstitutionOfTheFederalRepublicOfNigeria.htm

For your assignment, go to google and research the difference between having all elections held by a central body and having them held by individual municipalities (e.g. town/city, county/local government, state etc)
PoliticsRe: Nigerian And Us Presidential Voting Process. What's The Difference? by Tonim(f): 5:03am On May 02, 2007
For one, the organization that is responsible for administering elections (Independent Electoral Commission - INEC) is a federal body, whereas in the U.S., elections are not all "federalized"

Sorry, but this is just ridiculous.

you can't write in proper english anymore because i pointed out your bad grammar. Now you are writing in pidgin. shameful

what do you have against yoruba people ? what did they do to you ? what does my being yoruba have to do with anything ?

you are such a pathetic loser

carry your pathetic behind and get out of nairaland

we don't want losers like you that pitches one tribe against another here.

loser
PoliticsRe: If Obasanjo Was Igbo? by Tonim(f): 5:08am On Apr 17, 2007
I can't stand ignorant people like yourself that have nothing to do than spread nonsense.

You said you heared yourubas saying they can't vote for an igbo as president.

I asked you which yorubas said so, you remain muted.

You just make up all this rubbish in your mind so people can start bashing each tribe again on this thread.

Don't you have anything better to do with your time ?

Why can't you tell us about these yorubas that said they wouldn't vote for igbos ?

Apparently because they don't exist !  Which validates what I said about you earlier - YOU ARE A LOSER !!
PoliticsRe: If Obasanjo Was Igbo? by Tonim(f): 4:54am On Apr 17, 2007
Amobi 1:
who is a loser. me or u? r u trying to find a men. i guess thats y u posted a white men picture on your profile. plz stop calling me names 4 real!
It is " a man"  and "a white man" not "a men" and "a white men"

You should spend more time in school and work on your grammar rather than promoting disharmony among Nigerians. You write and act like a loser.

Loser.
PoliticsRe: If Obasanjo Was Igbo? by Tonim(f): 4:37am On Apr 17, 2007
All you are trying to do is get responses so people would start bashing tribes again.

You are such a loser - Nairaland is not meant to create disunity you hear ? You should be banned for creating a stupid thread like this.

If you don't like Obasanjo - fine ! There are lots of yorubas that can't stand him either.

If you don't like yorubas - fine ! You have every right to like or dislike as you please.

But don't use Nairaland as a platform to spread disunity among yorubas and igbos. Take your bitterness elsewhere biko. Loser.
PoliticsRe: If Obasanjo Was Igbo? by Tonim(f): 4:34am On Apr 17, 2007
Which yoruba said they'll never vote for igbo as president ? you are a filthy liar.

All you are trying to do is create disunity among igbos and yorubas with this stupid thread of yours.

Again, what the hell do you mean by "so called yorubas" ?
PoliticsRe: If Obasanjo Was Igbo? by Tonim(f): 3:50am On Apr 17, 2007
Here we go again being ignorant, trying to cause fusion between yorubas and igbos. What the hell do you mean by "so called yorubas" ?

Apparently, you have nothing better to do with your time than to create stupid threads like this.

Amobi 1:
Men i can't imagin if Obasanugly was igbo, wow! these so called yorubas will be shooting us everyday.
