Politics / What A Director Said About Buhari’s Minister That Most People Would Not Like. by Tonway(m): 8:00am On Dec 02, 2020
Though what the director of CCLA said about this minister is not what most so called “leaders” from his state would want to hear, as it ran contrary to what they have been brandishing and want the general public, most especially at national level to believe about him, we hope that this new position, coming from such esteem and unbiased quarter would make others who had the wrong notion about the minister base on what his enemies had been sending out to start reconsidering their notions about the Minister.... for complete reading, ...https://www.fon.com.ng/

Nairaland / General / #nigerianarmy, What General Awoniyi's Demotion Means (photo) by Tonway(m): 7:37am On Dec 02, 2020
#NigerianArmy, General Awoniyi Knew what was coming and what the rulings by the court marshal mean!

The army is a highly discipline organization that is characterized by strict laws and order in every area of their lives, down to what they do when they are alone in the privates confines of their homes or anywhere. And anytime anyone decides to answer that clarion call, to be enlisted, “WILLINGLY”, you are to bring yourself under those laws and order. You are to be bound by the orders and rudiments regulating and guiding the military professions and her oppressions. And being a General, which is the top echelon of the force, you become the symbol and the enforcers of the laws governing the force. And anytime you slip on those laws, you know yourself that it is your ass that is to be blame and not the institution with her set down laws which you had agreed and signed for.

So it became very appalling and spite of ignorant to see “bloody civilians”, whether for want of understanding or for out of pure mischief to see some so called activists and segregation apologists berating the military and insinuating ulterior motive or victimization as is being insinuated in some quarters as reported recently when the news filtered to the public that the former Operation Lafia Dole’s Commander, Major Gen. Olusegun Awoniyi has been found guilty for violating and contravening the Nigerian Army social media guideline related to military personnel and therefore, ruled on that he be demoted at least three years. According to the news, the military court found Gen. Awoniyi guilty on Monday and ordered his demotion to at least three years. What that mean is that he would now be rated and categorized along his juniors of three years. What that potent is to him is that, his mates, and those a year and two years his juniors would now be his senior automatically, while he only be rated at par with personnel he senior three years.

General Awoniyi with his rank knew the law regulating army personnel when it comes to the use of social media, and when he was caught pants down, he knows what is coming and he should be ready to bear his cross. Even if the army is being under equip weapon wise as the general tried letting us know, he should have adopted the proper communication channel to get to the military hierarchy with his observation and suggestion. And adopting the measure he adopted was a no, no, and demands a severe sanction for the army is a highly regulated profession.

Nairaland / General / What Happened In Room 10, And The Identity Of Those Involved! (photos) by Tonway(m): 7:13am On Nov 29, 2020
What happened in Room 10, and the identity of those involved!
Room 10 is the rave of the moment short film that has been considered in the short film category of several film festivals taking place across the globe this year. Room 10 is a master class production about a special unit security officer and his newly wedded bride who ran into a complicated situation with a disguised hotel management. That the olekpa was forced to accept some illegal dealings against his professional ethic is a revelation of the diverse challenges security practitioners’ encounters and are dealing with in the course of discharging their duties.
Room 10 is written, directed and produced by #NollyWood rave of the moment and a fast rising film practitioner in the industry, Frank Abasiekong . Frank is a thorough breed, trained and talented fast rising movie maker, and also a film scholar with a professional film degree from the famous Pencil Film Training Institute (PEFTI), Lagos. Aside being properly trained and holding a professional certification of PEFTI, he also holds a (BA) Theatre Arts, and currently wrapping up an (MA) program in Theatre and film studies, University of Uyo, Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, Nigeria respectively. He is also the CEO, Konsol Kraft Studio.

Having been part of over 15 independent film productions within Nigeria, and 7 spectacular short films for Film Festivals and some broadcast companies in the years that went by, Frank, who had always been seeking for that original idea that can simply speak to his audience without ambiguity, decided to storm the various film festival this year, 2020 with Room 10, an entrant that is rated highly and projected by pundits to make an impression and announced proper, the young movie maker to the world. Mr. Abasiekong had always wanted and sorts to give his fans and the world a master class job that would not only entertained them, but speak to their souls as well.

Frank has been involved in teaching the act of film making in various film schools such as Empire film Academy, Valid Film and Advertising Academy and currently Royal Art Academy.
The room 10 experience is comprises of…..
Sir. Ekere Nkanga
Kenneth Ekanem
Tommy Roland

Lovelyn Udosen, all staring. Room 10 has been selected @ the #Standalone Film Festival and Award, California, USA, and not forgetting the fastest growing film festival in the South and East of Nigeria. Uyo International Theatre and Film Festival 2020 were Room 10 has been selected as the Headline movie for the Festival.

Speaking to IKP news recently when we caught up with the film maker in Uyo, the oil rich state of Nigeria, Frank stated that he is excited about Room 10 and the many lessons that the art work is carrying. He also informed us that he want to use the various film festivals to herald his work and make a statement of the art of film making in the world.”Room 10 is the bomb”, Frank concluded.

Politics / Why PMB Should Not Grant The Request Of South-south Governors On NDDC. (photo) by Tonway(m): 7:05am On Nov 27, 2020
we have seen the outcome of the region and the performing level of the commission under their control after sixteen years and before then.

The meeting of the presidential delegation to interact with stakeholders of the south-south region of the country has come and gone, but the echoes of the meeting are still being savor among the people of the South-south in particular and Nigerians in general. While others sees and acknowledged the seven points demands of the southern governors as a welcome development, there are those, from the South-south and the country in general, who from past antecedents of the southern leaders, knows what the demands might turned into, should the demands be obliged by Mr. President, and the southern leaders have their ways.

While we must applaud Mr. President’s democratic and fatherly disposition as a listening father to initiate and have such roundtable talk with the various components of the country, with the quest to listen to his children, we must also admonish Mr. President as a father, not to accent and grant the southern leaders their request, most especially, the request to have the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) to always consult with them before carrying out projects in the south-south or the Niger Delta region. This is so because, having been one from the region in the sixteenth years of PDP’s reign in the country and during the military regime, with the fact that the region has never been an opposition in those periods, we have seen the outcome of the region and the performing level of the commission under their control after sixteen years and before then.

After sixteen years of having them monopolized and do as they liked with the NDDC and to Arrow the development of the region, we have seen how the south-south and the Niger Delta region has remained an eye sore in term of development, the resources meant for the development of the region only finding its ways into the pockets of powerful and well connected people the leaders of the region dim fit.

Another big reason why the President who is the father of the nation shouldn’t oblige the southern leaders on their request to control the NDDC is that, southern leaders are just too mean with their politics. To them, the winner takes it all and the loser and their followers languished in the abysmal pit of denial and deprivation for the duration of the mandate of the winner. We have seen it glaringly in the recently covid-19 palliatives sharing in some states of the Niger Delta, where government and their various representatives at all tires only gave the state’s palliatives to only their party members and shared base on party line in a lockdown that affected everyone. So apparently, the southern governors are again seeking, under another government which they are now opposition for a new avenue to tightened the knot on their opposition, to block every benefit that might be coming from government and prevent their oppositions from accessing any.

In the sixteen years of PDP reigned, where they had everything triggering down on their line from the top to the bottom, they appointed and suggested who made it to the board of NDDC, and who got contracts. Just imagine how much suffocation, denial and deprivation the opposition must have experienced in those sixteen years, this is the tradition that had been broken since the winning and the inception of the APC government in the last five years which they seek to restore and continue in this voodoo and selfish demands.

Nairaland / General / This Is What Buhari’s Minister Said About Late JJ Rawlings As Tribute (photos) by Tonway(m): 3:00pm On Nov 17, 2020
Since the sudden passing away of former Ghanaian President, Mr. JJ Rawlings was announced last week, many African, and world leaders have continue to sent and released their condolences and tributes in honour and felicitation with the former leader’s family and the people of Ghana. These encomiums are releases of the respective encounters of these world personalities with the late Mr. Rawlings, and they are memories that are supposed to comfort the love ones of Mr. Rawlings, friends and the people of Ghana. The Nigerian Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, and former Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Sen. (Dr) Godswill Obot Akpabio was not left out from the lists of world personalities that condoled with Mrs. Rawlings and the good people of Ghana.

Penning his condolence and tribute to the former Ghanaian strong man, and addressed to the late African leader’s wife, the Minister, through his press secretary, Mr. Anietie Ekong informed Mrs. Rawlings thus…..

“We received the news of the sudden demise of ex-President JJ Rawlings of Ghana here in Nigeria with great shock.

Please be comforted that in life you had a great partner, a Pan Africanist, a global icon, a transformational leader and a humanist as a husband, father and brother.

His Leadership style was infectious in and out of offices. He mentored many young leaders beyond the shores of Ghana. He showed how one should love and serve his country beyond self. He will forever be remembered as the father of modern Ghana.

He loved Africa so much that he boarded a flight from Accra to Uyo in Nigeria to join me in my state alongside other African Leaders such as Presidents (Dr) Goodluck Jonathan-Nigeria; Dr John Mahama Dramani, Ghana; Alassane Quattara of Cote d’ivoire to commission the best International Stadium I bequeathed to West Africa in 2014. At that time I was serving humanity as an Executive Governor of Akwa Ibom State one of the states in South South Nigeria.

He slept over in Uyo and spent enormous energy visiting project sites across the state and thereafter stated that he came to personally confirm the Uncommon Transformation he had heard so much about. Expressing his happiness, he told my people then that the giant strides he witnessed in Akwa Ibom State gave him hope that there was still a future for our continent.

We shall miss him and his commitment to bettering the lot of the less privileged in your country and elsewhere in Africa. Please accept our condolences and may his soul rest in perfect peace, amen.

Senator Godswill Akpabio, CON

Honourable Minister,

Ministry of Niger Delta Affairs

Former Minority Leader of the Senate

Nairaland / General / Akpabio; Why Nigerian Youths And Everyone Should Take A Second Look. by Tonway(m): 11:44am On Jul 16, 2020
As I was meditating today on this, I started asking myself those questions and many more about why we hate so much in Nigeria without reason? WHY DO WE HATE? WHY DO WE ANTICIPATE AND CIRCULATE THE NEGATIVES ABOUT PEOPLE, EVEN GOOD PEOPLE WHOM NOT TOO LONG, DID US GOOD? WHAY DO THEY HATE AKPABIO?
1. I discovered that Akpabio is a survivor. Yes he survived from his mother having to cracked kernel to keep him in school, and him having to do anything, applying his survival instinct of humanity to survive. He rose from the hood, he has street credibility, and understands that, though there is an establishment, the establishment shouldn’t be use for the benefit of just but few. But for, even not for everybody, BUT AT LEAST for the majority of the people. That’s why he commands so much respect from the masses and resonates from among them and those considered down trodden. And check again and carefully this time. You would discover that those that want to see him cut down are those sons of the privilege who talks adherence to establishment, they nurtured establishment for establishment, knowing that they are nurturing establishment for themselves and their sons. These are the people that are quick to point out where someone who tries to tinker with the settings of establishment is contravening establishment. They don’t really care about you, nor for the establishment per-say. They only care that it would disrupt their flow and projections. That is the reason for the uproar against the Hon. Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Senator Godswil Akpabio and the ongoing FORENSIC AUDIT OF THE NDDC .There is need to take another look at this man and what he is doing at the NDDC and why the proponents of establishment and adherents assembly of Satan are trying to cut him down.... for complete reading, click...https://www.fon.com.ng/2020/07/akpabio-why-nigerian-youths-and.html

Nairaland / General / What Should Be Done To Magu And Others (photo) by Tonway(m): 2:39am On Jul 13, 2020
Two Things Buhari Need to Do To Be Remembered Forever!

The likes of Magu should not be wasted time on in the court and other investigations. They should be led to the galore and the needful done, they, their families and anyone that had shared in their corrupt proceeds. After all he (PMB) is old, won’t need any international recognition after his tenure, and would be having nothing to lose. But his legacy would live on as one who risked it all to salvage our country and return us all to the path of humanity. Because we have definitely departed from those ideals that makes us human.

PMB should roar like the lion and the soldier that we know him to be and carry out two major actions to arrest the tides of corruption, greed, and lawlessness that had permeated us in the last two decades since returning to civil rule, even if he has to suspend the so call democracy and the laws for now. After all what is the need of the law if it cannot be enforced? The President, after all, he is almost 80, if not over, and is not going to be seeking for another election. He should damn every consequence, the international community, all conventions, treaty and any right that the people are using to behave as they like without discipline in this country and help salvage our upcoming generation. Go to our major cities and see, dirt is competing with people. PMB should conscript the military and give them the order to arrest, prosecute, jail and fire out rightly any civil servant collecting government money as salaries and not living up to billing.... for complete reading, click...https://www.fon.com.ng/2020/07/two-things-buhari-need-to-do-to-be.html

Investment / See The Ridiculous New Charges Zenith Bank Now Charges Their Customers. (PHOTOS) by Tonway(m): 3:53pm On Jun 23, 2020
Banking

Steal a little and they'll put you in jail, steal a lot and they'll make you king.

Nigerian Banks steals little, and because they don't want to be put in jail for stealing little, they make their little stealing a lot by stealing little in plenty places, so they are now king. King of stealing.

For a long time Zenith bank and other banks in Nigeria, moss especially the new generational banks had been subtly stealing from their customers in the guise of one charges or the other. And because the amounts they usually deduct from their customers’ accounts are usually so insignificant, customers usually don’t mind when such money is deducted from their accounts. Even if they mind, who would they report to? What customers don’t know is that, these insignificant amounts usually amounts to a very huge significant chunk in the long run after pinching the token they usually pinched from several accounts, let’s say forty five naira (N45) in two million places. You just do the math. Little wonder they declare such dividend annually without commensurate contribution to our economy... for complete reading, click....https://www.fon.com.ng/2020/06/see-ridiculous-new-charges-zenith-bank.html

Politics / See Why Northern Politicians Are Better Than Their Southern Counterparts, by Tonway(m): 3:16pm On Jun 22, 2020
The monster of them all, the criminal and open extortion of their people by respective power holding companies that operates in their regions, but till today, those institutions’ operatives continue to thrive in the regions, becoming stupendously rich at the expense of their people without anyone deterring them,..This is why it looks as if the north is marginalizing the south.

When I told a friend in the north recently, that there had not been electricity in my area now for over three weeks, she had simply screamed and asked if we don’t have a Councilor. I was made to realized that whatever is the electrical problem or any other problem in anywhere in the north, the Councilor of the affected area would rise up to the challenge as his or her duty. And if it is beyond him or her, or beyond the Council Boss, the State House Member Concern would come in immediately, and when it is beyond him or her, the Federal House Member representing the people would come in, till the Senator would all come in.
But in the South it is not like that. Elected politicians and civil servants don’t see themselves as if they are or came to their respective positions for and because of the people. The only duty they come to believe and know as their role as the people’s representatives is to appear in their chambers and present one yeye paper, even them they know they would not follow up, and go and collect their money. For instance, there are communities that are involved in communal crises annually, yet they have representatives at various categories, yet the crises cannot be brought to an end. The system, the people, civil society advocates, and all concerns should initiate and established a process of getting our politicians and civil servants, most especially those from the southern part of the country to truly start earning what they are being paid for the services they took upon. #IHateWhatIDon’tLike..for complete reading, click...https://www.fon.com.ng/2020/06/see-why-and-where-northern-politicians.html

Nairaland / General / Rape Naration (photo) by Tonway(m): 8:42pm On Jun 04, 2020
I tried all the tricks, techniques and lines I’d read anywhere without no avail. Then I decided to change it for her at once, as I beckoned on Bali to come in for the execution of our plan B.
We struggled and roughed handled her, everyone abandoning whatever affiliations and loyalty we had with and to her and eventually succeeded in stripping her off her blouse first, then her bra, school skirt and an under skirt. We were now left with struggling to remove the sport’s knicker she had underneath her school’s skirt in readiness for the female hand ball team’s training which was to hold that evening for a match that was to come up in the coming week against Bama Girls secondary school, which she was a member of the team. We’d had our plans all figured out, and the plan was to rape her, an act we weren’t even conversant with its consented act, talk less raping a woman by force against her will.
She fought and resisted us from removing her under pant after we’d succeeded in removing the short she had under her uniform. Now left almost naked with her beautiful, spotless and sensuous young breast dangling as we struggled to no avail to remove her pant, we resorted to violently pummelling every muscles, with the intention of weakening her as we applied the combined strength of two juveniles on heat, who couldn’t be stopped by even the strongest willed and experience adult woman, talk less a young teenage girl, as she pleaded with us not to defiled and abused her so shamefully, considering our friendships and other relationships.
She kicked and resisted, pleading undertone but yet didn’t rendered a single shout because we’d made it plain to her that the shame would be hers’ to carry all through her life for coming into the room in the first place. She was also familiar with Muganmbo’s standing law that no female student should be seen in their males counterparts’ homes during school hours with or without uniforms on, these and many more facts had hindered her from calling for any kind of help she could be needing at that time, as she kept screaming in between clinched teeth, as perspirations enveloped us all.
After a long battle of intensive struggling with two juvenile novies, neck bend on accomplishing their goal by all means, she eventually got weakened as we’d anticipated, and we succeeded in removing the knicker and then the under pant. And after passing through all that trouble, like one seeing his efforts of many years going up in a flame, we saw what we never knew what it was for the first time, as we all at once came to a halt, our desires and longings completely diminishing into our bodies, as we looked with nostalgia to what we thought was a sexually transmitted disease, which the school and other bodies were beginning to raise awareness among young people and every sexually active people at that time. It was later in our continous growing up that we found out that it was the normal women monthly menstruation that she was going through, as she had sanitary pads and blood everywhere underneath that scared the living day light out of us, scaring us off and preserving her chastity integrity. Business / Why Opera News Nigeria Must Fire Opay by Tonway(m): 11:09am On Jun 02, 2020
The opera news hub is a revolutionary concept that came up as a result of the democratization of information and the citizen marketer era of today’s information age that gives everyone the right and opportunity to be a publisher. An era that gives everyone power to say what they want to say about anyone, anything, in anyplace, the way they choose to say it and be heard all over. Its intention is super, and like the international brand that she is with set goals to achieve in content creation, I make well to say that if Opera don’t fire OPAY from whatever partnership they have that makes her (opay) the only qualified account to be used to open an account with opera news hub, opay would be the cloak on the wheel of opera achieving her objective in Nigeria. Opay has gone to hijack the opportunity opera offers citizens to share in online advertising through creation and sharing of contents, by insisting one must have and used only opay account to open an account on the news hub. Well having the account on opay is not the problem; the problem is that it is absolutely impossible to open the expected account on opay, that is even after wasting one’s data to download the stupid inactive app. You download the app, it is not working, you drop them a complain on twitter, facebook messenger and anywhere you can contact them, and they don’t respond.
