Know the origin and the name behind your school.
Col Kur Mohammed was one of the very few top ranking army officers in the Nigerian army from the Northern part of the country after independent and the first republic. He is, from his name to come from the Kenem Biu Kingdom, Borno State of modern day Nigeria. Col Kur Mohammed, who is said to be an indigene of Bama LGA, the largest LG area in Borno and the state’s second most developed city, was alongside Brigadier General Maimalari, another top ranking officer from the same region, killed during the 1965 revolutionary coup also known as Major Kaduna Nzeogwu’s coup. One of the agreed cardinal agenda of the coup was to eliminate all top ranking Politicians and top ranking military officers from the rank of Lt. Col and above, accused of championing corruption in the country. Though the coup failed, but Col Kur Mohammed and his kinsmen, Brigadier Maimalari were killed because they were working as the defense attaché to the Prime Minister, Alhaji Tafawa Balewa, who was also killed during the coup......for complete reading, follow..https://www.fon.com.ng/2020/05/kur-mohammed-army-day-secondary-school.html

The saying that the worse form of civilian rule is far better than the best military regime is truly beginning to hold up in our country, Nigeria, despite the many hiccups and the seemingly lack of progress in our democratic experience in the last twenty one (21) years. The reality of human right abuses by the police and other security agencies across the country has been and is still one major challenge of our country, which is supposed to model civilization and decent conduct to other black race. But the cheering news from a very reliable source from the Nigerian correctional service, also known as Nigerian Prison Service (NPS) is that the Nigerian police force has been so embarrassed recently by the outcomes of their prosecutions and other human right related cases, and are paying damages left, right and centre in several courts across the country... for complete reading, click...https://www.fon.com.ng/

Nairaland GeneralCheck Out The State With The Highest Cost Of Living In 9ja And The Reason Why by Tonway(op): 11:45am On May 12, 2020
Socio - Economic Right And Accountability Project (SERAP), concern commissioners and respective representatives of the people should as a matter of urgent attention take this up with the Commissioner of Police and others concern to draw the ear of their personnel, civil societies also should find a way of coming up with a frame work to check the country’s security agents as they execute their jobs. They are to hunts and track down criminals, not to inconvenience law abiding citizens.

As every state in Nigeria differs in their slogans, so also there are those very unique features that distinguished these states from one another. Cost of living is one of such major features that distinguished one state of the federation from the other. While others lead in high cost of living with nothing else positive to show for, others lead in other positive feature, and a bearable cost of living that isn’t threatening the existence of their people.
Lagos state for instance, despite being known as the commercial nerve centre of the country with influx of people daily in search of a better living condition as one of the factor that favours immigration of people into her is not leading in high cost of living as it should, unlike her Akwa Ibom State counterpart which is known only for crude oil production with no any other factor that favours immigration like industries and other opportunities, but tops in the ranking as the state in Nigeria with the highest cost of living. We carried out our research in Lagos, Abuja, Anambra, Kogi, Rivers, Enugu, Borno, Adamawa, Kaduna and six other states respectively, and in our findings at the end of the day, we realized that you can still have a prettily not too bad food for as little as N200 or less in those states, but not so in the oil rich state of Akwa Ibom state, as you would need N300 naira minimum to be able to eat the least plate of food in any canteen. Same also with some food stuffs in the markets of those states, the rates and quantity in those states if far lesser and much than that of Akwa Ibom, that one is left wondering what they gain in such greed!

“In the night, I heard them told, the cruelest story, ever told, someone found along the road, who lost his soul, to a woman so heartless”, Kanye West

The above narration by Hiphop rapper, now evangelist Kanye West, the husband of Kim Kardashian in his ‘Heartless” track, is the same, if not, worse story of a sickly lying bitch in University of Uyo, name Favour, I stumbled upon in this lockdown period from one among the many people that abandoned their vocations and life pursuits to their respective homes in order to die with and among love ones, should the ravaging Corona Virus decide to kill us all, as there isn’t no cure yet.

I heard from these students how Favour can readily swivel a lie in the twinkle of an eye, forming one rich kid with parents in Lag, despite the fact that her parents “e’were bicycle”. Favour lies, borrow, lives a carefree life, and irresponsibly lazy just to be someone she’s not until she become a laughing stock among other humble kids, whom their parents are sacrificing a lot to keep them in the University. FAvour keeps more than four lovers par time, seeing and spending time with each in their allotted time. She creates and assigned them each, jobs and positions that suit the status of lie she want to peddle par time, whereas, the guys are struggling as 7-5 workers of shops or pharmaceutical stores. She reported once that one of her lover, who was truly a staff in a pharmacy, but by Favour, the owner, registered, rented and opened a saloon in her name, and just threw her the key as a surprise to her. She told them in the hostel she was squatting that the fellow engaged her on the altar of God, as she brandished fake plaza ring she bought for herself to suit the lie for that time. Favour who claimed to be a fashion designer, borrows her dress from the course mates or the owners of the bunk she’s squatting with, she often lies, and claimed that either one imaginary aunty or cousin sent them from Dubai, or wherever they’re holidaying, sometimes claiming the true owners borrowed them from her. PoliticsSee This Amazing Road Constructed By Julius Begger In Akwa Ibom State. (photo) by Tonway(op): 10:41am On Apr 27, 2020
The oil rich State of Akwa Ibom State, South-south of the country is so making it to the news for the wrong reason lately. From the disagreement with NCDC over COVID19, the sacking of the State’s Epidemiologist by government for disagreeing on the modalities of collected and tested sample of incident cases, and the politicization of development and construction works ongoing in the state.

For instance, Ikot Ekpene Senatorial district is one of the three senatorial districts in the state, and though the entire district was instrumental to the emergence of the current governor, Gov. (Deacon) Udom Gabriel Emmanuel as the governor, because of the unflinching decision of the his predecessor to installed him by all means, against every odds, the region has suffered marginalization without development in the last over four years of the governor. The deliberate marginalization is so much that it has become an embarrassment to the state and government. But as it is with a bully and any discriminatory person, the government is neck bend in continuous discrimination of the senatorial district that helped in stalling him, even to his shame and degradation of approving this kind of substandard road to the district in place of the original fly over that was earmarked for the famous British control post, by Old Itu Road. And as it is said in football coaching, “You are as good as your last job”, I hope customers patronizing the famous German construction giant, Julius Begger would do well to cross check with this road before assigning any road construction business to JJB, and I hope they would not mind to be identify with this road!. for more,...https://www.fon.com.ng/2020/04/see-this-amazing-road-constructed-by.html

Nairaland GeneralLockdown Inconveniences, Police The Most Hardworking & Effective... Photo by Tonway(op): 8:48am On Apr 16, 2020
LOCKDOWN INCONVENIENCES, POLICE IN IKOT EKPENE ENJOYS FILL DAY OF EXTORTION AND BRIBERY RACKET.

No doubt the ongoing lockdown as a measure to curb the spread of the dreaded Covid-19 (Corona Virus), which as at the time of filing this report has no cure is sure biting hard on citizens in different ways, but the other disdain act noticed in the lockdown apart from the immoral hiking of foodstuffs’ prices by market people and the People Democratic Party (PDP) and Governor Udom Emmanuel providing the state’s palliative measures for their party members only, is the fill day extortion of motorists by men of the Nigerian police in Ikot Ekpene, Akwa Ibom state, alongside their civilian community police members.

At the popular Umuahia by Aba road junction, the confectionaries and fruits sellers that sell there were (had) to be evacuated by the police and their civilian community policing counterparts so as to enable them enjoy fill day of extortion without the prying eyes of the members of the public as a third party. Along Alterton, off Aba Road also, another racket of road block is mounted there, permitting and allowing only those who could pay or if you are a security operator a thoroughfare. That is also the situation at every other major road into a settlement in the ancient city, and first local government area in Nigeria, and the entire former West African British colony.

According to the eye witness, who filed in this report, the police men openly asked the petty traders to vacate their selling point so that they would not be seeing their atrocious activities. They had had to also harass the eye witness, who reported that it is the civilian community police members that solicit and only brings in the police to tackle stubborn and non co-operative victims. But the money las-las na oga police go sharam.

portfolio managers and importers would disagree with you.
WHAT999:
I am also in total support of the partial border closer by the Federal Government of Nigeria. However, my concern is always at what we can do to make Nigeria the food hub of Africa. From my little experience in the agricultural value chain, there is a lot of wastage in Nigeria agricultural sub-sector, especially at the rural communities. I am referring to the farm communities; where farm produces have yield more than expectation but suffered at moving the produces to where maximum consumption needs are required. My submission in this, is that government intervention in agriculture should go beyond farming; as the entire agricultural wheel can sustain the economy, increase employment and increase foreign exchange.
Nairaland GeneralHow Abubakar Shekau, The Boko Haram Leader Was Killed by Tonway(op): 11:51am On Apr 10, 2020
And as everyone scattered in the ensued pandemonium, I for once didn’t know what to do next, but. I eventually summoned courage and decided to take the corridor to the open field, where I thought I can get to identify myself to the security operatives that it’s me, and that I am not a terrorist. May be that would spare my life, even when I know I would’ve to put in a great deal of effort, time and resources to convinced them of what I was doing there in the midst of dare devil terrorist group, a process we know could take twenty years in the different cells of Army, DSSS, Police and every other security operatives in the country.

As far as I was concern, I have completed my assignment. “I’ve delivered the message I was kidnapped and coerced into against my will, which I believed would finally put this night mare I found myself behind me.”, I thought, even as the thought of going back to face my less interesting life came competing with the task of staying alive

“Come on concentrate in the now!”, I called myself to order, bringing myself to the reality of the task of the moment.

I summoned the courage to approach the corridor from behind the tree I was hiding, and successfully got to the end of the passage that would lead to the next open compound. And there coming ahead of me was troop of countless fierce looking soldiers ready to take on even the devil himself, talk less some overhyped terrorists. The sight of the soldiers sends a chill panic down my being, forcing me to return back to where I was coming from immediately.

As I ran back through the passage, I heard some more gun shootings from my left, not far away from me. I immediately turned to check where the gun was sounding from. With the gun I was given in my hand which I haven’t used yet, I came face to face with the two soldiers who’d killed too kids already aiming at me. Out of survival instinct, I returned the fire rapidly, which caught them directly on their stomach respectively, and any other places that didn’t allow them to exist additional seconds on this beautiful world to tell.

“Sorry didn’t mean to do that, but if I didn’t do you first, you would’ve done me”, I explained, as I apologised to the death soldiers, jumping over their carcasses, and came face to face, yet again, another set of two that were aiming a grenade at me, and I caught them also, beating them to it first, and apologising too, as the grenade exploded, shattering the whole mud house with rubbles.

We fought till power and will started running out on the insurgents, as all their fighters one after the other were taken out, those lucky to still be alive now being picked out from their hiding spots one after the other, including their leader.

I raised my hands up on the air along the other captured fighters, as the soldiers searched and disarmed us, Abubakar my friend from his own corner from where he was held by heavily armed ready to kill arm men, stared at me with venom, as if I was the one that betrayed and gave him out.
In a wink of an eye, the tall tired, retired and ‘supposed’ late General appeared, like from the smoke that was rising from the earlier conflagration, and collected a shot gun from one of the specialist guarding my friend, Abubakar Shekau, the Boko Haram leader and aimed at him (the terrorist leader), and pulled the trigger and shattered his skull, the exact manner he, now the victim did Mr. Altidor, the Russian arm dealer two days ago at Ngoshe, without a second thought. He was death instantly by the weapon created and manufactured by the West (Boko guys) themselves, which he had used to maimed and send many to their untimely deaths for. Yes thousands of compatriots and fellow Africans has he sent to their untimely and painful death in a senseless and brutal mindless killing by this singular monstrous creation of the West, truly, the abomination in the West (Haram in the Boko), as against the shadow chasing, persecuting and fighting against the West in her entirety as the abomination (Boko Haram), a misconstrued war of whom he and many a fool is fighting and fought even with their life to the end, fighting symptoms as against the sickness.

And as if to make sure that the terrorist leader remain truly death, the General walked past me without any indication that he’d known or met me before, and past one 2nd Lieutenant and a Major and got close to where the body of the terrorists’ leader was lying with his shattered head, and released more bullets into the already shattered head, face and every part of the outlawed sect leader’s body, before reciting the decree that found the sect’s leader guilty silently to the man who has ‘flowing streams of screaming bloods’ of the innocents and the defenceless on his hands, making them both not different from each other. ... Nairaland GeneralUyo To Yola By Road, Imigration Charges N1000 For Not Having Your National Id by Tonway(op): 4:06pm On Feb 11, 2020
Travelling from the Nasarawa Park of Uyo to Yola or from the Yola’s Jambutu park to Uyo by road, apart from the annoying deplorable state of the federal high ways, the other twin doom of the Uyo to Yola road journey is the incessant stoppage at check points and road blocks by men of the Nigerian security forces, one at every five minutes drive at a time I was counting it looks, and each with their different interaction pattern with the drivers, some passengers that frequent that road, response along.

One very important feature of the road journey is the discovery that the Nigerian Immigration Service in Taraba, Chukura town, with their branded hillux truck carrying the inscription “Border Patrol Corps Base, Takum” were charging and receiving #1000 each from passengers that don’t have their national identity card, except for much pleading and much wasting of time would they accept to collect less. I have travelled from Uyo and from other cities of the federation to Abuja, Lagos and other states, never have I seen any security agent having a fixed rate the extortion they extort as penalty for violation, revenue they don’t even get to remit to the government.

At the military check points, you just handover the understanding without negotiation, amount ranging from constant 50 or 100 naira. The police- same, the mopol, the custom, including the road safety that would imposed a particular sum like their Immigration counterpart, the vio, vigilante and every other uniform organization you can think of are seen on the high ways of uyo to yola vis avis journey by road, as they add wasting of precious time to the already long distance journey. The immigration’s module brings everyone down and insists on seeing your national identity card, work place id or student id. Those that don’t have are billed N100 flat rate, or we die here. It is then that the driver, after much plea would announced that everyone must handover N500 so that he would complete the rest and go. OnlyIn9ja

Nairaland GeneralAbama/Ariam; Over 300 Yrs Of Meaningless War, Time To Call A Truce. by Tonway(op): 2:08am On Sep 25, 2019
From Generation to generation, over 300 years now, the people of Abama, an Annang community in Obot Akara LGA of Akwa Ibom state have been engaged in one of the fiercest and longest war with their Ariam neigbours, an Igbo community in Ikwano LGA of Abia state. The war is an age long war that started as long when the two communities started existing where they find themselves as their respective ancestral homes. It precedes and defied the colonial era, it defied the military government and every government of the country, still with no end on side. The war has now been termed generational war, if not that we’re not a country and the press is not reporting the destructions and carnages resonating from this war, we would have made it to the Guinness book of record as the longest war, because it is the longest war, a dispute I am not even sure successive generations, including this current one of ours from both sides know the reason we are fighting and have been fighting. We just grow up to know that our community used to fight their community, that’s it, we both stupidly get enlisted and begin to fight each, in continuation of whatever the reason those that started it started it.

There is no generation that is not familiar and hasn’t experienced this war from the both communities, there is no generation that you won’t hear tell-tale stories of their experiences and losses of love ones or neighbors to the war, people going to their farms and just disappeared, lost, gone and never to return or be seen again, days, weeks, months, years, till that generation passes, the story only to be confined to the history of those communities that so so and so so person, the brother, husband, uncle, nephew, cousin and son of “wane”, the sister, wife, daughter, aunt, and cousin “of those people” have been taken, killed, gone missing, all casualties of the war. In the last five years, I have lost an uncle to the senseless, meaningless and stupid war, and trust my people, the people of Abama, we like the proverbial Cricket that knows her way with and never blinks to the sand, we might not have so much money or rich people outside the state, or perhaps outside the country sponsoring the war like our opponent, the people of Ariam, whom we heard vowed to chased us out and away from our ancestral home, but take this home, we don’t take no captive, kill one we kill more, one of our people gone missing, we bring in two, three or more for that one. As we lament and live with our loses from the endless foolish war that we have been fighting for generations without even knowing why we are fighting, so you live to tell yours, that is how it is, that is how we were made, it isn’t our fault that you cannot defeat us, the truth is that you cannot chased us away, this is our land, we would never run away and live our land for you, nor for anyone.

But come to think of it, isn’t it time our own generation start considering peace as the legacy to leave behind for the coming generation instead to beget them war? Of what gain has the war been to both of us, than priding our ego that you cannot beat us? Have you been able to take even a potion of our land, nor we yours? Are we not tired of telling stories of the loss of love ones or our compatriots to the stupid war? Let me tell you something, you cannot live in our land even if you succeed in defeating us, which you won’t even be able, no, the deities won’t let you and so believe we too. The best and wise thing to do and the time is now, is to call a truce and end this age long meaningless and foolish war. #LiveAndLetsLive

The first time I got so pissed up and threw away my glo line was in 2006, after I failed to stop them from continually stealing from me openly through criminally and systematically getting me signed up unto services and products I didn’t subscribed for and through, and, stealing from me through those means. They were also indiscriminate deducting from every recharge I made, claiming I bought my line, which I paid fifteen thousand (N15, 000) for on credit, a marketing strategy they adopted then to get more student and the public to use their new service then.

Today for the second time, I am discarding my glo and I call on all Nigeria to do the same, never to ever use anything starting with glo again.
Do you know that glo have been charging me a whopping N54 for one minute call and N34 for 19 seconds? Plus they would automatically subscribe you for services you did not subscribe for. And when you call their customer service, apart from taking ages before someone picked, they would asked you to unsubscribed for a service you did not subscribed for, they said once you used it , it becomes automatic. I pity for those unsuspecting and illiterates public! Glo, like every other thing in Nigeria don finish us!
A week ago in a plenary, the Senate President, Senator Ahmed Lawal accused telecom operators in Nigeria of foul play and under-table dealing, vowing to start calling them out. With this position of the country’s highest law making arm of government, it now become an indictment on regulatory agencies like Standard Organisation of Nigeria (SON), Nigerian communication commission (NCC) and the customer protection agency (CPA), agencies heavily budgeted for annually to protect Nigerians. Abeg make we probe everybody sef!
Christianity EtcI Met An Eckist Man Today by Tonway(op): 12:08pm On Jul 06, 2019
I met an Eckist man in his office today, he was quite a kind and nice man, knowledgeable, philosophical, accommodating, and approachable, he was really patience and generous with everyone that came into his office to seek for one help or the other, oh, I met an Eckist man today.
He was up and doing, maximizing every moment, and civil in his dealings with others, oh, it was an Eckist man I met today.

The Eckist man I met today exudes love, wisdom, humility, respects people’s right and feelings, he was a good man to sum it up, that was the Eckist man I met today.

The Eckist man I met today tried told and tried teaching me some stuff he called “HEUS”, “Heus”, he said is some kind of meditation process that would unfailingly bring down the presence of God and enable one access any kind of blessing one seeks, he encouraged and assured me to give it a try, as the stuff answered to anyone who engaged it, even if one is not a member of Eckankar. He explained further that Eckankar enables you to access God without having to go through an intermediary.

I asked the Eckist man I met today about JESUS CHRIST WHO EMPHATICALLY, WITHOUT MINCING WORD DECLARED THAT HE IS THE WAY, THE TRUTH AND THE LIFE, AND THAT NO MAN CAN GO TO THE FATHER OF CREATION (GOD) EXCEPT THROUGH HIM, and The Eckist man I met today answered me thus:
“Jesus is just a leader of one of those religions”, he explained.
ME:…, Nooo, Jesus is the Son of God ooo. He is the Messiah and savior of mankind, the light and civilization of the world, the wisdom of God and above all, the mediator of the new covenant.
What do you say? Dare to confess Christ today.
Thanks.

Nairaland General"The Problem With Soldiers": Story Emanating From Boko Haram Operation (photo) by Tonway(op): 10:47am On Jun 20, 2019
“What’s wrong with soldiers generally?”, she thought.

“Don’t they for heaven’s sake ever learned common sense and emotional intelligence to know the feelings of others and when to talk about sensitive issues and when not to! To them anything that erupts from their stomach they let it out, without tact, or considerations whether it’ll be hurting to anyone or group of people or not”, she thought.

“Excuse me Mr. President; can I have a word with Maimuna alone?”, the Captain requested of Shehu, who looked from Maimuna to the soldier, seeking for the slightest encouragement from Maimuna for him not to leave, before reluctantly easing off from them with a considerable amount of will power, after she assured him she’ll be fine with a nod of her head.

He knew that the soldier, whom he had already settled in his heart that he doesn’t like for no reason had said something grievous to Maimuna for her to react so angrily when he caught her, and he’s determined to protect her against whoever.

“He’s going to leave for the moment, he told himself because she indicated so with a nod of her head, but he’s not going to be far away”, he resolved, as he went to locate Ajara, who was already engrossed in a discussion with the visiting President, and her other entourage.

While they remained quiet for Shehu to leave, Maimuna was grateful that at least his senses would instruct him this time around to be civil, not displaying the typical arrogance and bullying nature synonymous to soldiers, as they’ll mostly would set aside civilizations and violet the rights of citizens, yet insisting everyone at all time should accord them maximum respect, even to the point of cursing and sometimes physically abusing people if things doesn’t go their way.
After Shehu’d gone, he decided to douse the tension a little.

“Sorry for the stupid questions I asked earlier, just that I was in a hurry to know everything about you like before. I’ve been longing to see you again since the last time you came to collect the letter from the old man”, he explained.

“Have you gone to see the soldier?”, he esquired.

“What’re you doing here?”, she asked, with a fake smile on her lips, not minding his explanation, apology and question.

“I got a signal this morning, and took the military chopper to Dodan barrack for a briefing summon, and the outcome of that briefing and further directives is what am doing here”, he explained with an opening of both hands.

“Did the briefing and onward directive entails turning up on me unexpectedly and making inquiries about my personal life?”, she demanded, cocking her head one sided with a mischievous smile that’s intended to soften the punch line.

“I’m sorry about the inquiries again, I thought for old time sake, we could talk without boundaries”, he pointed out.

She remembered vividly well how she had come so close to letting down her guard for the young, newly commissioned officer four years ago, when she used to visit her father’s office during the holidays. She had found him so young, cute and tender that she had begun to tell herself that he wasn’t more than her age. She was only fourteen years old then, and had just sat for the Junior West African Examination Council (WAEC) examination, as they call it and was waiting for the result in order to commence her Senior high school. The young officer also had found it pleasant and looking unto sharing part of his break time with the smart, and intelligent instructor’s daughter, who was pleasant, lovely to be with, with a crystal heart for kindness and hospitality. And they’d enjoyed each other’s company and talked about virtually everything, that any day she didn’t turn up he’ll feel as if something was missing, or wrong with those days, and fear that she might never come again. Despite the assurances that she usually go for her dancing class in those days she’d not turned up, he still felt the days not complete without her. He had wished he could reinvent himself and become a younger boy and her friend, or even become a girl and attend the same school with her so that he could really get to share a lot with the irresistible magnetic magical girl.

One day her father’d brought her to the office, only to later remember that she was supposed to be having her dancing class that day and ended up pleading with the young officer to help escort the driver to drop her in her dance class. He’d considered himself lucky that day, and that day’ll be a day he’ll never forget in a hurry. In fact he could still remember promising he would come for her when she’s grown up and ready, a promised he still wishes she’s still up to.
He still can remember well what went down that day. He’d ordered the L/CPL driver to drop them in a spot at Adeola Odeku, where they could have a drink, and there they’d spoken about love, sex and every other thing. He had asked her if she had ever had sex, and she’d replied no, and they had just restrained themselves to holding hands and a onetime kiss before finally dropping her off at her dancing school at Falamo. That was the last time he’d seen her until her arrival to study and hide in this town for whatever reason, as he has come to conclude about her appearance here in Maiduguri. He also can remember how he had felt very bad and thought she’d told her parents about what they’d discussed and did, thus the reason she was restrained from coming to their office anymore. Sometimes the feelings of irresponsibility, and failing to uphold the trust and confidence his instructor had reposed on him still weighs him down, despite the fact that the instructor had continued to relate with him normally, suggesting nothing of his fears. Her absence was just something he’d had to find an extra strength to cope with. He never believed he could love a minor that much, though, the guilt for that too sometimes come rearing its ugly head at him sometimes.

“Do you really want to know why am here?”, he asked.

“If you wish to tell”, she replied.

“Alright, there’s an intelligent report that some extremists have instigated the locals to protest the visit of the US Women and Gender equality President. And they are targeting some local organisers as we’re told and that means your fancy little friends over there are targets”, he explained, turning toward Shehu, whose eyes never quite left him and the woman he so love a second.

“They’re planning attack on your school”, he revealed.

“Whaat?”, she asked in fear, turning to look at Shehu, who was still discussing with the visiting President, and equally at the same time turning toward her every now and then, as their eyes locked from the distance at that moment.

“Now listen, I really need to talk to you, but I’ve got this to do”, moving swiftly, he picked a tea spoon and hit it on the tea cup he was holding, to get every body’s attention.
Having certified that he has arrested the attention of everyone and everyone was seated, he moved forward to where the table was and picked the remote control and began.

“Madam President, when we leave this office, here”, he pointed it out on the slide.

“The press would be all over you like these”, he pointed again on another slide.

“We want you to smile, shake hands with the elderly lady in the purple dress here if you must shake hands. You’ll see a woman with her two daughters at the hall’s entrance, you can share banters for your media pose. We figure these things make a lot whole of difference for you Americans, I mean the press, the camera, the….”, he explained, hurting the American visitor a little, as he continued.

“There he goes again, the demonic instinct of a soldier who thinks they know everyone’s motives. Does he really need to bring that up now?”, Maimuna thought.
“With these illustrations, I believe we’ll have a safe event and everybody’ll be happy at the end?”, he concluded

Nairaland GeneralExposed Why Glo Gives More Bonuses And Incentives Than Others??? Photo by Tonway(op): 9:50pm On May 31, 2019
Of what use is the freebie or bonus when you can’t use even half the value of your original money, talked less the freebieshuh

I believe by now that there’s no doubting the fact that Nigerian telecommunications’ giant, “Global mobile”, simply known as “Glo” is the worst network in Nigeria, and for that, they tend to make up and cover their incompetents with “awoofs” and bonuses to distract Nigerians and dissuades them from considering these anomalies “stealing by trick service”. Of what use is the freebie or bonus when you can’t use even half the value of your original money, talked less the freebieshuh

I first bought a glo line (Starter pack) for N7, 000 in 2006, after the indigenous outfit came in what was described as a “welcome development” to crashed the price and break the monopoly of MTN and ECONET, who were the first private sector pioneers of the Nigerian telecommunications industry, after government abrogated the law that up till before then, didn’t allowed for the GSM service to come into the country, just as she had done with the Higher institutions of learning them. It should be remembered that glo then came out with all manner of incentives that was making it possible for students, workers and lot of people who couldn’t afford the high cost of MTN and ECONET sims, which were at that time, around N15, 000 to then afford the gsm phones, as they came up with a way that allowed them systematically removed the around N6, 000 that they were selling their sim card and N15, 000 for a Motorola handset and a line whenever their customers recharged their phones.

Wao that was it! Glo became the messiah, everyone started rooting for glo, the indigenous telecom giant, while all along the service they offered was whack and had no wider coverage , compared to the others. But we stuck to them; “we have to encourage our own”, we were told.
Glo sponsored our NPL, the Nation’s cup, different types of talent development shows on tv, they even enrolled our NollyWood stars as ambassadors, a strategy to continue to fool and distract us from their incompetence, epileptic and incompetent service, while we, being the Nigerians and “easy and short cut loving people” that we are, we never called for and demand for the service which we pay hard earned money to subscribe. We allowed Glo to systematically and criminally deduct and steal from Nigerians through subscriptions of caller tunes, songs and every manner of services, even when you didn’t subscribed for them, and they would make it impossible for you to unsubscribed, even when they made provisions. For instance, when I bought my line, I bought it around N7, 000 or there about, paying glo in full, I wasn’t among those that bought under their credit arrangement, that they would have to systematically deduct from their recharges, but glo kept stealing from me, despite several complains to their customer care. I was forced to eventually abandoned that line in 2007, to now settled for MTN, whom glo’s competition had by now forced them also to crashed their sim card price to N3, 000, that was how I parted way with glo, until recently again that I saw one of their yakata offer advert on super sport. I bought and subscribed for the plan, but guess what, Glo is as worst as ever, they haven’t changed, they have refused to develop and attained efficiency in their service after all these years. That isn’t enough; they now automatically subscribed the useless yakatta plan for me at every recharge, even when I didn’t subscribed. Call their customer care and you would wait for almost an hour before you are finally connected to a representative who would apologized and tell you of a code you can send CANCELL on capital letter to, which still doesn’t let you off the hook.

Where are all our human right lawyers, and the civil rights groups, or is this stealing by glo and other operators not a violation enough to attract them?

Because a male student of ABTI American University, chopping his father’s stolen money, wooed your fiancée or your daughter, who is struggling to study in Modibo Adama Federal University of technology, Adamawa State, which you the boy friend or the father couldn’t provide for, THERE, Atiku becomes the culprit.

True we are all victims of government’s failures and how lowly our lives have been degraded by them and her operators in this country, and as such we look for whom to hold liable at all time for our woes, and because Alhaji Atiku Abubakar was once the no2 man in government and a former civil servant, having served with the Nigerian Custom, HILIKA, there goes our culprit!

At wherever and whenever you want to take to looking at our country’s problem, as regard corruption, you can never be said to be wrong at whatever conclusion you arrived at. This is because you would sound right, factual, and appealing to what is of interest and of burden to most people, and as a result, you would be able to effortlessly identify your culprits, and the majority of the people would agree with you. But when you take a critical second thought of looking at them in the content of the law, gaging them morally on the scale of moral uprightness, that is where you would realized that Alhaji Atiku Abubakar is justifiably ahead of them and would continue to win with sound reasoning, beating down emotional blackmail and sentiments. Alhaji Atiku Abubakar is more righteous than most of them accusing him of corruption...for complete reading, click...http://www.friendsofnaija.com.ng/2019/04/immoral-justice-is-not-justice-at-all.html

SOME SERIOUS LESSON GOVERNOR UDOM EMMANUEL HAVE TO LEARN AWAY FROM HIS FANCY EDUCATION.

Politics

In trying to belittles the accomplishment of his predecessor, now Senator representing Ikot Ekpene Senatorial district at the red chamber of the national assembly, HE, Senator Godswil Obot Akpabio, Governor Udom described the Godswil Akpabio International Stadium and many other accomplishment of the former Governor a “MONUMENT”, many educated people in the state and outside thought the Governor, who came from the banking/investment institution and should know better what is and what is not a monument,

Mariama Jabani (Staff Writer)

If there is any crash lesson for Governor Udom Emmanuel of Akwa Ibom state to learn right now, it is the lesson of distinguishing between what constitute a monument from what doesn’t, irrespective of his fancy and proud education from wherever. Of course we are aware of the fact that education in Nigeria, most especially some institutions regarded as “prestigious” academic institutions have often been overrated, with the simple obvious fact that most of the graduates from these “schools” hadn't been able to replicate the “prestigiousness”, “elitesness” of such schools in term of knowledge and contribution to the development of society, instead they contribute to our woes.

When in the run to the recently concluded 2019 general election, the governor of Akwa Ibom state in trying to play politics/belittles the accomplishment of his predecessor, now Senator representing Ikot Ekpene Senatorial district at the red chamber of the national assembly, HE, Senator Godswil Obot Akpabio, described the Godswil Akpabio International Stadium and many other accomplishment of the former Governor a “MONUMENT”, ...for complete reading, click...http://www.friendsofnaija.com.ng/2019/04/some-serious-lesson-governor-udom.html

Nairaland GeneralThe Cinderella Story Of Tiger Woods; His Fall From Grace, Height Of Humiliation by Tonway(op): 10:38pm On Apr 16, 2019
“Ahh, it fits,” Woods said, beaming as he tugged on that famous green jacket for the first time since 2005.

We all, I know would wish time’s like a spin you can just spin and awaits the result instantly. For Tiger, I’m sure this would’ve been his wish then, but now?

Maryama Jabani (Staff Writer)

Life they say is a “Bitch”, at times, a very mean one for that matter to some people. Tiger Woods, American and world Golf champion isn’t a stranger to the ups and down of life and all the mortars it is capable of throwing at one. Once the toast, darling and icon of everyone, the signature to top brands, associates of world leaders and Presidents of conglomerates, then suddenly, like a wind in the storm, everything came spiralding and tumbling downturn, till they came to where the centre could no longer held, his marriage, his reputation, all came crashing to the lowest a man can fall from grace to grass.
He had major reconstructive surgery on his left knee shortly after limping out to what was then his most recent major championship, a playoff victory in the 2008 U.S. It turned out it was only a minor prelude to all the agony that was to come to Tiger Woods, so much of it self-inflicted.
It was reported that while everyone was celebrating the Thanksgiving holiday in 2009, Woods crashed his SUV into a tree and a fire hydrant outside his Florida home. It then suddenly followed with reports of a myriad of extramarital affairs, wrecking the facade he and his father had constructed of the dedicated athlete and perfect family man. Overnight, one of the world’s most famous people became a punchline and a talk topic, which were not for good. He became an eyesore, a plague everyone loves to avoid.

Woods checked into a Mississippi clinic for more than a month, apparently to deal with some of the sex addiction he was battling with. Most of his major sponsors fled for cover, Elin Nordegren, his wife divorced him and he was all alone. And as if that was not enough, in trying to make a return to golf, the game that made him fortune and famous at the Masters in 2005, he received a tongue lashing, with mean and derogatory words from the Augusta National Chairman, Bill Payne for his lack of moral scruples and for the poor example he set for America’s youth. If Woods thought things couldn’t get any worse back in 2010, he was mistaken, as his body continued to betray him, leading to one surgery after another in an attempt to alleviate the unyielding pain. His back was such a mess that it became a struggle just to walk, or sleep, or play with his kids. Woods faced the very real possibility of never playing golf again, not even for fun. In frustration he once asked in annoyance, in 2015, a few weeks before Christmas
“So where is the light at the end of the tunnel?”
“Who could have known?” At that point, Woods conceded, any further achievements on the golf course would be mere “gravy.”
The fourth surgery on his back was something of a last resort. Sure, he wanted to play golf again at the highest level, but he probably would have settled for a lifting of the pain and the abilit....for complete reading, click....http://www.friendsofnaija.com.ng/2019/04/the-cinderela-story-of-tiger-woods-his.html?fbclid=IwAR3GASvdreaXFtsyY9OUFpQrcbZKYx8kmRaP1B2b3WxaWMKRfJ0iWkMa1YY
