Evil that men did, used to live after them.
But these days, Evil that men do LIVE with them.

His precedence has created an "image" for him.
He jumped bail in Britain, Americans are scared he might do same in God's own country.

Sad YarAdua & Atiku were not also denied, we'd have been thinking of strengthening our own healthcare facilities too.

What goes around definitely comes around.

What is National Hospital Abuja there for? Is it only answering big name and over-billing patients?

Hope out-going & in-coming politicians have learnt from this, because a time will definitely come when people will regard the families of "corrupt" individuals with scorn.

Good luck to Alams.

I know that Pat UTOMI will capture a lot of VOTES from:
the youth
the enlightened
the corporate-world
the academia
the business sector

But I still have my reservation about:
the market women
the bike men
the market trader

As for me, he has my vote!

Yar Adua is not Liberal (Sharia was adopted in Katsina state under him)
Buhari is a coup Head

So that leaves Utomi cheesy
A heavy analysis u done there dude!

@Coleslove:
Nice idea and it's worth a TRY!

An OPEN debate, with NO-HOLDS-BARRED will do us well to tackle these people on WHAT VALUE THEY HAVE TO OFFER.

I'll suggest some questions:
What will they do to correct/repair the level of MORALITY in Nigeria?
What will they do to uplift the personality of the next man on the street?
Will "Complete STRIPPING / confistication of assets be imposed on all Corrupt persons?

Cheers.
PoliticsRe: The Nigerian Press Are Complete Disgrace To The Nation by Tonyblu(m): 12:21pm On Mar 14, 2007
It's a known fact that the Nigerian Press/Media Houses have left a lot to be desired; and that there's a need for drastic reforms by its key-players.

That the Nigerian Media/Press is in the "pocket" of politicians is also a known fact.

With a few weeks to this Historic Elections, the Press owe it to Nigerians to portray the TRUE personalities of all aspirants/candidates, with STRONG emphasis on the Presidential aspirants/candidates.

We also need objective and accurate feedback from polling centres on election days; can we rely on the Nigerian media houses to accomplish this?

Agreed, a few media houses have made remarkable inputs with objective coverage; but for some media houses to "praise" known corrupt politicians is going too far.

Among other things, the Nigeria Press/Media Houses will be a good avenue to educate the populace about the need to change our MORAL VALUES in Nigeria for better.

Since the Press do not seem to know what is expected of them, can we as Nairalanders, in our usual manner, LIST out the QUALITIES we DESIRE in an IDEAL MEDIA HOUSE.

Maybe, they'll take a CUE from us . . .

. . .Even when Silverbird's poll showed Okotie as Nigerias choice, nobody pretended he was a front runner. . .
Duke?
Okotie?

Why wasnt it YarAdua, Atiku, Buhari or IBB?

Well, to some extent it's an insight that the Nigerian people now have a better grasp of who they'll elect when free & fairness are guaranteed!
The people's "choice", not a SELECTED option.

True talk JoshO,
It's about time we told these people DIRECTLY in the face to GO AWAY!
Our moral standards here in Naija truly leave a lot to be desired!
Where looters openly and shameless claim to be victims, and still have the audacity to run for office.

What does MORALITY mean in the Nigerian context?

If the guv'nor is clean, why is his mother on d run? Why didnt she stay and clear her family's name?
I wish EFCC will go ahead prosecute her, and declare her a fugitive. So that she wont freely set foot in Nigeria, She and her son really messed up Abia State.

Infact, EFCC shld PLANT their men in every State in d Country from the 1st of May, 2007 to monitor all the currently IMMUNIZED guv'nors/politicians and GRAB them on or b4 midnite May 29th. And shld not let them vamose in d manner that Fayose did.

It's about time we placed our priorities right, or else OUR children and youth will grow up tomorrow thinking that "WRONG THINGS" are RIGHT!

Rumour or No Rumour!
The guy had a close shave, whether we like it or not.

If I may recall, when dark-goggled-general-Abacha passed on a few years back, didnt it start as rumours?
Were we not fed with propaganda till it couldn't be hidden any more?

Good thing now is that he's ok. I am glad he's ok, but is he in the right frame of Health to manage this country?
Reasons could be the rigours of the campaign; if so why wasnt he advised to go for his check-ups more frequently and earlier; why did they wait for such a close shave?

This, my dear Nairalanders, is the kind of planning, execution and package the PDP has in stock for Nigerians.

I also feel that the strength of the negativity of the Rumour was mainly because of the platform he's running on: PDP and the "UNLIKENESS" Naija-rians have for PDP.

YES!
VOTE PDP for another 4+x years of Democratic MISRULE.

On Sunday, we'll say: "Yar'Adua, Welcome back jare, but pls dont faint again Oh!"
I DARE NOT imagine what will happen when he's replaced (on account of ill-health by d power-mighty Fhee Dee Fhee) or worst still, when he loses out.

We have GSM almost at every nook & cranny of Naija.
Text messages, emails, online voting.
Free or premium-priced sms will serve to encourage respondents.
Information/adverts placed on TV, radio, newspaper, bill-boards, flyers, posters, multimedia adverts, etc are but a few.
Some media houses did something similar during international beauty pageants, etc.

All it needs is the right publicity mix, the right media noise at d right places portraying the importance and benefits of same should pull a good level of participation by the populace.

Internet access is also there; at most multiple entries from a singular cell-phone or computer IP address culd serve as a check to disqualify such.

It can be done!

Just a thot!

This goes to show to some extent that it is not every time that ELECTIONS portrays the people's TRUE feeling!

That PDP is a messed-up party is no longer news, but unfortunately, the populace felt apprehensive with the rumoured demise of it's presidential candidate.

I wonder why we don't conduct GENERAL OPINION POLLS in this country like it's done in other places?
For the people to show what they have in mind before the election proper.

Why can't the Media conduct a general polls on the situation of the Presidential Aspirant.

Someone once mentioned that our media is Lazy and I'm beginning to agree that it's true!

Conducting An Opinion Polls Will Stop Rigging?

Let the MEDIA conduct an OPINION POLLS fast!

I wonder why uptill now the Nigerian Media houses havent thought it PROPER to conduct a GENERAL OPINION POLLS in this country like it's done in other places?

This has lots of Advantages and it's also an avenue to allow the aspirants re-strastegize, if need be.

All these while, we have been hearing their campaigns, and what I've heard so far SUCKS!
No originality

The same LIGHT, WATER & ROAD issues; that will be left undone when they get into office, only to be used for next dispensation.

It also serves as an Opportunity for the people to show what they have in mind before the election proper, and in places where it's been done, it also helps to checkmate rigging to a large extent,

Someone once mentioned that the NIGERIAN MEDIA is VERY LAZY; and I'm beginning to agree that it's true!

May be a "Committee" should be inaugurated to fashion out a home-grown governance style for Nigeria, creating a new Ministry of New Governance wont be a bad idea either!

Did I hear someone say "National Constitutional Conference"?

That is more the reason we have to over look the PDP; it's old/former (disgruntled?) members who moved to other parties (ANPP, AC, etc) and elect a different individual, IRRESPECTIVE of the current or agreed Geo-political zoning.

I wonder whether democracy is for us the citizens of NIGERIA, or for a few select individuals who always try to hold the whole country to ransom.
Approximately, the people who have been in the corridors of power are less than 1 million, i.e less than 0.5% of the 140million Nigerians, and as learned as most of us are, we are STILL being HELD to ransom by these few under different guises: Rotational what-the-heck!

Change cant will definitely NOT start tomo if we dont stand up and make our case now!
The FUTURE is NOT tomorrow; the FUTURE is now!

What we make of our today uploads into the future!

I believe in Miracles, and I'm sure many Naija-rians still do!

Those who believe that UTOMI can deliver shld all cast their vote, and wait for it to get counted!

Nothing stops us all, both learned, enlightened or otherwise, to stand up and say NO, we have elected this person and stand by it.
June 12 was botched, well, that was a military era, but this is Democracy-to-Democracy!

I still believe the RIGHT time to act is NOW!

PoliticsPat Utomi's Visibilty: My Concern by Tonyblu(op): 9:20am On Mar 06, 2007
For one, the issue of Pat UTOMI's VISIBILTY has been one of great concern to me. I havent been seeing the kind of 'effizy' (effects) I see from other aspirants.

Though we all know that oftentimes money gets thrown around to rent the crowd/people that have been used so far, but they are making the NOISE; and the effects they draw usually transcends to other people, passers-by, on-lookers, and of course the media footage!

Now, many Nairalanders (and Guests) positively feel that Pat Utomi is the guy for Naija Presidency, but that is not enough to get him there.

HOW CAN WE AS INDIVIDUALS SUPPORT THE ACTUALIZATION OF THIS DREAM!

From what I have seen, the UTOMI's methods so far hasnt created the "effizy" I'd expected. In as much as I feel that an aspirant shld do all the noise making, but there are many of us here who have the means to influence other people in a bid to solicit support for Utomi.
Infact, I have a few pals and we JUST carry out DIRECT & INDIRECT campaign in our offices, computer school (where I take lessons), church, fellowship, on a bike ride, and every opportunity that presents itself.

I am convinced that as an Individual, if I want something that much I shld be able to make sacrifices to achieve it.

Many of us can do this on-our-own.

If you are a registered VOTER and u feel UTOMI deserves a chance, GOOD, go out there and "talk the UTOMI talk".

Even if you were not able to register as a voter, or do not currently reside in Nigeria, you may be able to talk to people to cast their votes wisely.

Your suggestions here could also be useful in this regards.

I strongly believe that U & I can make this change!

Can Pat Utomi Deliver?
This thread started with a topic that interested me and when I peeped in, I saw totally different talk. sad

In fact, my answer is YES, Pat Utomi can Deliver!, and in every capacity.

I dont see what d talks about rotational presidency has to do with it.
Personally, I dont see Buhari or Y'Adua as a better option. The former had been there and as far as we are concerned, the main "action" personality was Idiagbon; Y'Adua on the other hand is, as far as I can percieve, a papa's boy!

Or shld I mention Uzor Kalu or Atiku; no dont faint, I wont. grin

So, what are we talking about then?!
Let's talk about ISSUES here. It's about time we left the old "reality" ways and did things the right way.
We can indeed JUST elect anyone from Nigeria, no matter his/her sectional or geo-political background. It wont start tomorrow if we dont start it NOW!

My point is that, as the current YOUTH of this nation, we owe it to our FUTURE, to the generation un-born this singular act of VOTING right, VOTING well, VOTING with a focus.

The Future is not tomorrow, nay, the FUTURE is NOW!

Pat has began his TV "shows", so we'll definitely hear & see more of him.

For me, I'll vote for Pat and he'll definitely win.
\o/ \o/ \o/ \o/ All hands in d air for the 2007 President Utomi!

What do you think of the attempt by President Olusegun Obasanjo to sack Vice President Atiku Abubakar for defecting to AC?

The easy way to deal with this matter is to say that it is a constitutional, a legal issue. Let’s get the court and the National Assembly to sort it out. But the truth is that I feel so sorry for a Presidency that does not think about history. . .

I find it remarkable though that for a General like Obasanjo, who ordinarily prides himself as a great strategist, an ordinary Customs man has been one step ahead of him throughout this whole game; always one step ahead of him. If I were he, I would be quite ashamed of myself.

I wonder if anyone actually read this thread by Ezeking:

Kalu is known to divert attention when confronted with serious allegation. its only people who does not want to tell the truth will try to excuse him for this tactics.

Did Kalu embezzle Abia state money? The simple answer is YES, YES, YES. To give him a life jail will not quantify the gravity of this sin. He shld be stoned. I live in Aba and know what goes on in that state more than any of u who does not stay in Abia and depends on what he feeds u on the pages of newspaper to use in analyzing him.

He is a propagandist to the core. But he cannot, repeat, cannot excuse himself from the corruption leveled against him. That is why he is diverting attention.

Come to think of it, if his hands are clean why will he even bother to reply OBJ, EFCC et all?? He who comes to equity must come with cleans hands. Up till tomorrow OBJ is still scanning through the affairs of the PTF so as to find something to use and nail Buhari, but he has not. So Buhari cannot be accused of anything because he didn't do anything incriminating. That is what Kalu is expected to do.

Before EFCC came out with their report on him, many people already knows this. U need to visit Aba and Umuahia to have a feel of what is going on. That is why i pity these guys who are using what Kalu is saying on the pages of newspapers to judge him. OBJ can be accused of same crime, what u do is to produce evidence. I don't need any evidence against Kalu other than the fact that Abia has been given at least N100billion since 1999 and has nothing to show for it and Kalu is accused of pocketing about half that amount. It is the same thing with OBJ and his cohorts.

Kalu's antics will surely fail him. At the end of everything, he will surely go to jail. In fact going to jail is a privilege for him. HE SHOULD BE STONED. !!!!!!PERIOD.

Read through once more. . . (except for the STONE part . . . smiley!
That is the reality on ground!
Go to Aba, Umuahia and see for yourselves!

It could be the girls now see everything they ever wanted in the married men (MM): Settled, matured, confident. Like, "Ah," the kinda stuff they want in a guy.

Though some girls just wanna ruin stuff for the guy; some may see it as a form of no-strings-attached kind of fun. Some tend to think the MM are less stingy with money; and for the unfortunate one who d girls may find a weak-spot (eg: the madam-must-not-know MMs), they end up bleeding thru subtle blackmail; or a terrain for an adventure; quick-easy money.

Some of 'em girls kinda prefer the Instant-Noodle kinda guy, ready-made; since some girls just have the patience to WORK it upward/develop with a guy from the scratch.

Most importantly, the MM are often to blame, bcx if u resist them (girls), they'll flee.
But the MM are often d cause, they encourage d girls directly or indirectly. Instead of the guy to settle certain issues with his wifey and get ALL what he's supposed to get from her, he ends up hanging his eyes OUTSIDE the house.

Maybe this reply may be for another topic/post another day.
