Igbo abi "Igbo"? We have refused to tell ourselves the truth. Always chasing shadows. The south is screwed. We have been so taken advantage of by the north. The day we allow merit to reign in our national life, is the day we will move forward.

Let us keep blaming "yeebos" for all our problems. One day, it will be too late to stay together as a nation, with the amount of nepotism and tribalism being encouraged in every facet of our national life.

To be honest, I think his posts were in response to some of your comments on the first page which many would perceive as Igbo bashing. Some people were already beginning to ask if the thread was created to bash Igbos or to actually learn about the Igbo culture as you had mentioned.
And I asked the Igbo dick man dick searcher about that and she won't respond

..well, someone mentioned they perceive their women to understand their culture better..I have heard in some places, even if the Igbo man is married to an outsider, chances are the family will see to it he eventually marries an IBO woman..to some extent,if he is from a liberal enlightened background, he might get away with it...but this rarely is the case if he is a traditional man
let me be honest with you...igbo men and igbo generally believe they are better and supeior and that is the way we are and we do not marry outside, it is rare even if we do we have traditional places that we go such as the Efiks, Ibibio, Anangs, Kalabari and maybe and I mean maybe but very rare Urhobo...we loo east..anything far West From benin is seen as abberation and the man looked down on

how can a woman from lets say itshekiri with the way their women are known, i lived in warri come to say meeting umuada or ndiinyo and merge...ko possible, how can she cook that ofe onugbu with ogiri isi and okporoko just like Nkechi...it is impossible, how can she differentiate ede from ede uli

I think you should marry your type dear

Even if Rochas performed below the expected satisfaction of NdImo, let it be left to us to criticize. Us alone! You'll hardly see Imolites open threads to lampoon the good people of Anambra, or talk ill about the incompetence of Obiano or his anti-Obi policies. But I don't know why loose canons like Chino and other cry babies can't do the same. As true sons of Igboland we will never fall for the OP's trick to propel us into maligning our sister state, thereby wash our dirty linens in public. We know him as a troublemaker, but wish to inform other unsuspecting commentators not to join him in his usual dance of shame.
While it is true I didn't vote Rochas for 2nd
term, it is also fair to say that I'm one of his fierce critics. Yet, it pains me to see vagabonds with anti-Igbo tendencies insult not only the Governor, but also the good and hardworking people of Imo state, all in the name of amateurish politics. It is so disheartening to see why these lunatics are taking panadol for another mans headache. I even saw where a juvenile kept comparing Ohakims shambolic tenure to that of Rochas. Even one idiot openly came out to insult the political decisions of Imolites during the last election. Imo remains the most politically sophisticated state in the whole east, you can take it anywhere. People who play emotional and bitter politics are coming here to tutors us on something we know better. Let them check the records to see how we've faired from the 2nd republic till now.
The likes of Mandax can criticize ORO after all he has a stake in what goes on in the state as an indigene. However, since other intruders are bereft of ideas to criticize constructively, courtesy demands they keep shut. Let them face their state and pour that bitterness there. Imolites voted for Rochas because they had faith in him, it is now left for him to reciprocate that faith by proving that he is truly the best man for the job. He has more than 3 years to round up his tenure and till then he remains the Governor of Imo and no form of witch hunting and character assassination will make him step aside.
@Lalasticlala this thread has violated nairaland standing rule with slander, insults and libel. Pls do the needful and send it to where it belongs. Thanks.

This is correct. It is common for any dissenting group to want to claim 'migrated from bini' as if that makes them different. Even the Ikwerres, actually migrated from Arochukwu, Awka and Orlu areas, who never had any Bini mentioned in their history in the past have found a way to cook up Bini claims in their history.

Man, you're smart! cheesy

Boils down to what I said earlier, the cultural differences and inability to understand the other man's culture is what is basically causing what people call tribalism.
All these tribes you matched above have similar cultural backgrounds and that's why marriages amongst themselves can be successful smiley

Let me add Hausa + Fulani, Idoma + Tiv, etc
That's it..even in animal kingdom the tiger+tigress the lion + lioness the frog + frogret ( lol)

And why would a sensible Igbo man marry outside of his tribe? How do you preserve your culture? I think inter-tribal marriage is disgusting and unnatural. Even God made sure Israelites marry from their tribes to strengthen the bond and culture.
It also confuses the kids ..when a father is from ijaw the mother is from Benin when you ask the kids where are you from ..she says my mum is Benin dad ijaw

You see the confusion and it also makes the kids a bit impure genetically

The only inter tribal I suggest is urhobo + isoko. Benin + ishan. Igbo+ ukwuani or ekpeye, ikwerre. Efik + ananng or Ibibio
.

Igala + idoma. Yoruba + itshekiri or Benin or ijebu or utsen

..others your on your own

Mr man how can somebody that doesn't have money start a business, it is always easy said than done, to start a business you need money to invest, it is only people with handwork that did not need money to start business, e.g interior decoration, online marketing, fashion design etc, the reason why many youth could not venture into business is because of lack of capital to start, I am a business man, I know what it takes to nurture a business in Nigeria where there is no electricity, multiple taxation, high cost of shops, it is on record that 3 out 5 businesses in Nigeria pack up after few years because of all this. The Portuguese established relationship with Ethiopia in 1520.

Timbuktu’s history
The Niger River, Timbuktu
The Niger River, Timbuktu
Although the city of Timbuktu was established in the 12th century and became an important commercial centre, it only gained widespread prominence as an intellectual capital in the 15th century. Chroniclers mention that the city has its roots in a nomadic summer camp set up a few miles from the river Niger, as a base from which they could pasture and water their camels during the period of intense heat. This position proved strategic for commerce and soon attracted many settlers. The settlement was important not only because of its location at the junction of the dry Sahara and the lush central valley of the river Niger, but because the river itself constituted an easy pathway for transporting goods to and from the more tropical regions of West Africa. Thus merchants settled there early on and were subsequently followed by Muslim scholars much later, after the establishment of a permanent community.

The population of Timbuktu was always mixed. Although

How can we say that Anioma is not original Igbo and yet, for years, the two elite Igbo organizations ie Aka Ikenga and Ohanaeze Ndiigbo were led by Anioma sons, and the Asagba of Asaba remains a grand patron of Ohanaeze Ndiigbo.

Nne eh, it's high time you stop listening to our detractors. Igbo belongs to all of us, that was why Nzeogwu coup was termed "Igbo coup" and not Okpanam, Aniocha/ Oshimili or Delta coup, even though they( Nigerians) all knew that Nzeogwu was from Okpanam Oshimili in Delta state and not from SE.

Never did Ndiigbo from SE protest and insisted that Nzeogwu is not Igbo, even though denying him would have been a safe option, but we never did, even till today, and we all bore the consequences of Nzeogwu's actions. We suffered together and survived together. Anyi bu ofu, don't let our enemies tell you otherwise.

No SE Easterner is a more originally Igbo than any Anioma person, don't let them tell you any different.
