A Federal High Court in Abuja has remanded the former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Dimeji Bankole, in the custody of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission till June 10. Bankole had been arraigned by the EFCC on a 16-count charge of contract inflation and fraudulent embezzlement of public fund. Bankole was arrested on Sunday night at his guest house in Asokoro, Abuja by EFCC operatives and arraigned before Justice Donatus Okorowa. The EFCC accused Bankole and other principal officers of the House now at large of hiking the cost of vehicles, television sets and office equipment purchased by the House in 2008. Bankole, whose legal team of 18 lawyers is led by Chief Adegboyega Awomolo (SAN), however, pleaded not guilty to the 16-count charge. Thereafter, his lawyers made an oral application made for his bail. But EFCC counsel, Festus Keyamo, leading two others, raised objection to the oral bail application and insisted on the proper filing of the matter. In his ruling, Justice Okorowa adjourned the case till Friday for arguments on the bail application. More details later. http://www.punchng.com/Articl.aspx?theartic=Art2011060815224276

click to expand image JAMB Registrar, Professor ‘Dibu Ojerinde The Joint Admissions and Matriculations Board has received the approval of the Federal Government to shift the 2011 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination from Saturday, June 11, 2011 to Saturday, June 18, 2011. The approval was conveyed to JAMB via a letter to the Registrar, Professor ‘Dibu Ojerinde. According to a statement issued by the examination’s body in Abuja, on Thursday, JAMB explained that government believed the change became inevitable as a result of the clash in date with the ongoing National Examination Council. The statement read in part, “For instance, sizeable students who have applied to write UTME would also be sitting for the National Examinations Council’s Biology (Practicals) on Friday, 10th June, 2011, and as such, may not be able to travel after their NECO examinations to sit for the scheduled 2011 UTME on Saturday, 11th June, 2011. “The Government, therefore is mindful of the fact that ‘the Board has been inundated with requests from parents of children who choose towns outside their present locations to reconsider and shift date to 18th June, 2011 as against the earlier fixed date for the 2011 UTME.” http://www.punchng.com/Articl.aspx?theartic=Art201106023105293 |

Read and advise only. Thx I am 27. I am an accountant. Please, I want you to help me out of this, so that I will not break someone’s heart. Before, I had an unfaithful girlfriend who dumped me for another man and got married to him. Later, I decided to have two so that if one fails, I will settle for the other one as wife. I have dated them for over four years and none of them knows each other over these years because I have been secretive about it. They are agemates (24). Dear Yemisi, these girls are good, beautiful and worthy of marriage. I have tried them many times in all ways to find an error in them, but none so far. Now, I want to settle down with one of them. Recently, I flew a kite by proposing to the two of them to see if one of them would not be ready. But fortunately for me, two of them said ‘yes’. Now, I’m confused of who should be my wife and who should not be. Please, help because I love both of them, but I can’t marry both. What can I do or say to send one away amicably? |
