tctrills:SHUT UP and stop talking rubbish. What is all this “people better than you, smarter than you” rubbish? Go to blazes with your wretched inferiority complex. In your head some white pea brain who has more money than sense is “smarter and better” than a “nobody” on Nairaland. Your comments stink of gross inferiority complex towards other races, and it’s disgusting and disgraceful to behold. If you see yourself as a “nobody”, do not project your inferiority complex unto others. Nonsense. |
Funny how the top 6 states are the most humble and quiet people that don’t brag or make noise or drag anybody. |
Unlike you JOBLESS YOUTHS, the man is up all night in meetings and phone calls and other activities. He has EVERY RIGHT to doze off for a couple of minutes if it really gets to him. Do you think governing Nigeria is a joke? |
They are silent because they remember Peter Obi was the loudest critic of fuel subsidy who promised to remove it on the first day of his presidency, if elected. So we would be in this situation even if he was president, and they know it. That’s why they are silent. |
Where is the sidewalk? |
Love this thread. |
Catapault:The damn Brits. |
Volksfuhrer:Explain the DNA research by Di Giacomo and other scientists, which reveals Japanese genetic descent from NIGERIANS. What evidence surpasses DNA? The question is not IF they got to Japan. The question is when and how. |
DaddyJapan:He feels so inferior that combined DNA, linguistic, cultural, sculptural, pictorial and even biblical evidence supplied in the video cannot convince him that his ancestors were anything but village spear chuckers. The British did a real job on your head. I find you repulsive. How can you feel so inferior to the point of rejecting DNA evidence? |
DaddyJapan:Of course we know you were trained to be Eurocentric. Trained to see the world through the eyes of white supremacy. Information like this threatens your white supremacist worldview, outlook, and mental conditioning. It infuriates your colonised head. Therapy should help. |
DaddyJapan:What a retarded analogy. It’s not about DNA “connecting”. It is about the Y dna Haplogroup D of the Japanese being DESCENDED from the Y dna Haplogroup DE which originated in Nigeria. Use your brain and understand what DNA Haplogroups mean. The video even explains it. Is there a Jamaican DNA parent Haplogroup from which the dominant English Haplogroup descended? No. So your analogy is daft and ignorant. |
DaddyJapan:DNA evidence connects them. Only an illiterate argues against DNA evidence. The only thing to debate about in that video is HOW the Edo people got there, and WHEN they did, not whether they were there. That video proves 1000% that they were there. |
VeeVeeMyLuv:This is a very unsatisfactory explanation. |
crossfm:My friend the govt has barely been in power 6 months! Haba. Give them time. ![]() |
I saw a YouTube video of a Gambian guy that toured Lagos, and the guy was amazed at the low prices of everything, compared to Gambia. He was converting the naira prices to the Gambian currency, and was just shouting in amazement at how cheap they were, from coke to food items, clothes etc. The guy said that we are enjoying in Nigeria with all these cheap prices! ![]() |
Nigeria has the Second Lowest Cost of Living in the World Despite Economic Woes Business Insider Africa January 30, 2024 3:30 PM In the complicated realm of global economics, Nigeria in 2024 has emerged as a fascinating paradox. The West African nation boasts the lowest cost of living index in Africa and the second lowest in the world. This is according to Numbeo, a data platform that provides insights into consumer prices, real property prices, and quality of life metrics. - Nigeria faces a 28.92% inflation rate, but Numbeo ranks it as having Africa’s lowest cost of living index. - This presents an economic anomaly. - Nigeria’s current cost of living index stands at 19.0. According to Numbeo’s updated cost of living index for 2024, Nigeria has Africa’s lowest cost of living and the world’s second lowest cost of living, second only to Pakistan, despite the country’s startling rate of inflation and weakening currency. Nigeria's inflation which is currently at an alarming 28.92%, an 18-year high, and a 13-month consistent surge, has seemingly done little to raise its cost of living index to a global high. Inflation is typically associated with a greater cost of living. However, Nigeria's reality calls into question this logic. The cost of living index, which takes into account factors such as housing, transportation, food, and healthcare, still places Nigeria as one of the countries with the lowest cost of living, presenting an interesting case study. To collect data, Numbeo relies on user inputs and manually collected data from authoritative sources (websites of supermarkets, taxi company websites, governmental institutions, newspaper articles, other surveys, etc.). Manually collected data from established sources are entered twice per year. With that said, Nigeria’s current cost of living index stands at 19.0. When compared to the highest, Bermuda there is a 114.8 disparity, as Bermuda has a cost of living index of 133.8. Also when compared to Mozambique, which has the highest cost of living in Africa at 45.2, there is a 26.2 points difference. Nigeria’s relatively low cost of living is despite the fact that the country’s latest food inflation rate accelerated to 33.93% on a year-on-year basis, marking a 10.18% increase compared to the rate recorded in December 2022 (23.75%). According to a report by Business Day, a prominent news publication in Nigeria, “100% of respondents who participated in the publication’s poll are dissatisfied with the current cost of food, and 75% believe the government isn’t doing enough to address the issue''. A recent report also shows that commodity prices in Nigeria are set to surge again, following the fall of the country’s currency to N1,420/$. While Nigerians are generally frustrated with the current state of affairs in the country, Numbeo’s list shows that its living conditions are very cheap compared to the rest of the world. https://africa.businessinsider.com/local/markets/nigeria-has-the-second-lowest-cost-of-living-in-the-world-despite-economic-woes/3pl9mh1 |

Wolexyoshi:THANK YOU. WHAT THE MAN SAID WAS A PURE FACT. ONLY A HE-GOAT WILL DISAGREE WITH WHAT HE SAID, OR START TO INSULT HIM BECAUSE HE SAID IT. WE MUST PRIORITISE MADE IN NIGERA IN OUR MINDSET. IT'S AS SIMPLE AS THAT. THIS IS EXACTLY WHAT THE CHINESE DID. THEY DIDN'T CARE IF THE GOODS WERE OF 'LOWER STANDARD' THAN EUROPEAN OR AMERICAN. ONCE IT IS CHINESE, IT IS AUTOMATICALLY SUPERIOR IN THEIR EYES. UNTIL WE REASON LIKE THAT IN NIGERIA, FORGET ABOUT NAIRA RISING IN VALUE. JUST FORGET IT!! LOOK. WE PRIORITISED NIGERIAN OVER ALL ELSE IN FILM, FASHION, AND MUSIC, AND THOSE SECTORS BLEW OUT OF ALL PROPORTION, TO WORLD STANDARDS. WE MUST DO THE SAME THING WITH REGARD TO OTHER SECTORS, INCLUDING MANUFACTURING AND THE SERVICES, AND THIS COUNTRY WILL BLOW BEYOND BELIEF!!!! |
Maybe that’s the plan. These devils have a way of telling you what they want to do beforehand. If it happens, it was the plan. And Trump would be voted in by a suitably angry population, and then he would wreak havoc on America and the world. |
PinkNature:Good luck ridding them of their inferiority complex. See how many likes he got for his comment dripping with low self esteem? They’re hopeless. An embarrassment. |
AkinPhysicist:The ''son of God'' flew down to Earth and showed he was the ''son of a God'' by changing water to wine in a party. ![]() And then he walked into the middle of the ocean without sinking. Just walking on top of the ocean, magically. Because he's the ''son of God''. ![]() A story for kindergarten kids. No wonder they drill it into their heads when they are children. |
THIS CUP IS OURS FOR THE TAKING. GIVE ME ONE COGENT REASON WHY NIGERIA SHOULD NOT GO HOME WITH THIS CUP. |
Nothing strange. They have the capacity to refine and supply beyond the Nigerian market, so they will be happy to take on foreign oil to keep their refinery in production. This is a private-sector business. Dem no send anybody. |
Neduzze5:Yoruba people want to carry all our money! ![]() |
CoronaVirusPro:Thanks for informing the he-goats who have come here to do their usual anti-African posts. |
Nostring:Don’t mind them. Any excuse to talk down their own country. I’ve never seen such a useless set of people. |
coleon:Pea brain. Your problem is you are thick. And you think everyone here is a dunce like you. Waste of space. I won’t bother educating you on the plant. Believe what you want to believe. |
Chicagograduate:There are several Chinese built projects that are running just fine. Quick example, the Train manufacturing plant in Kajola, Ogun state, which employs 5,000 Nigerians, manufactures train coaches, and supplies the NRC as well as foreign markets. Another is the Lagos - Ibadan high speed rail service. Even the railway they built for Nigeria broke down. What railway ''broke down''? Do you even know what you're talking about? We are still owing China despite the substandard railway they built on loan.Ignoramus talking crap. |
