Taofeekdboy: I don't think so, it doesn't work in django 3.0, it was made for django 1.11. You can also create a custom tags in your model without the use of taggit. I’m a Django newbie, I don’t know how to go about that and I think the whole tag thing is affecting the project as a whole. Sad and angry right now. |

Toppytek: Thanks, I’ve been finding it difficult using “taggit” on Django 3.0, seems it doesn’t work with Django 3 yet, I might be wrong tho, but am following a book “Django 3 by example” I’m building a blog. I’ve checked the author’s GitHub, the code is the same, don’t know what’s wrong. |

Oospi: please I need help! how do I scrape data or tables from sites? e.g https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/ Depends on the tool you chose to use, but for this one I’ll suggest you use either Power Bi, Excel or Tableau, just copy the URL and chose “web” in the “get data” menu. Questions like this can be easily googled. |

kunleiky: It's really cool, very intuitive. You can create a new schema/table rght in there, and import your data into it, then commit. Voila, you have the data in MySQL. Wow, I’ll give it a try. |

kunleiky: I don't know if you ever observed, when you install MYSQL, an add-in called MYSQL FOR EXCEL is automagalically added to Excel. That add-in allows you to easily import data to and from MySQL using Excel. It's under the DATA tab of Excel. Check it out. I’ve seen that option before but I haven’t used it before. |

In case you’re around Badagry, I have his Power Bi and Excel video tutorials. |

Nice one @ cochtrane I'll use Tableau/Power bi to analyse mine.. Pandas needs more logic...not to talk of matplotlib ... Although i'll still use them ( pandas nd mpl) later
Haven’t used Tableau before but I doubt if Power Bi can go to this learnt in web scrapping. |

Schoolhike: I’d advice you read at least first 3 chapters of this book, “An introduction to statistical learning with application in R” by springer tech in statistics, if you want pursue career in data science, suitable for those without math/stats background.
When you reach the part R of programming apply the knowledge of python if you don’t know R, I also don’t know R If you have the soft copy or link to the said pls help us with it |

mbhs139:

There's no much to it bro. Just get a HDMI or VGA cable and connect your monitor to the laptop, and do some settings in the views settings. There are lots of YouTube videos to help.
The machine is an Asus Vivobook S15, with a touchscreen trackpad. I think Asus is the first to have that on their Machine. You can check the review on YouTube.
Having a second screen makes studying easy for you. You open your YouTube video on one screen and follow the examples, hands-on, on the other machine. You may also open your text book same way.
There's no issue of data here. I have 20GB on my mobile plan, same as my wife, for 200CAD every month, including two iPhone XR; and an unlimited data for the home plan, which comes with my rent. Home internet is like having electrical power in the apartment. It comes with your rent. I am sure you’re enjoying what you’re paying especially the Internet speed, our network for here no dey see small rain oo. For the Machine I’ll check the review on YouTube, thou I prefer DELL, MacBook, and HP, and non-touchscreen Machines with backlight keyboard. |

I have courses that are as lomg as 13hours to 15 hours, books nko? But the problem I fear from your end is Data You’re right about the Data thingy, well we go dey rugged am. |

deeteeneey: please what is the minimum specification a laptop should have for adequate function. I'm about to invest in one, nothing expensive though. I'm just a beginner. For a starter you don’t need much just that some softwares (e.g Power Bi) are RAM consuming, a 4GB RAM machine isn’t bad, plus a processor speed of at least 2.2GHz. |

mbhs139: I encourage you guys to check out this site for lots and lots of data.
https://catalog.data.gov/dataset
I have followed this thread from page one to the last, and this is my first time of commenting.
I live in Canada, and after coming across this thread, I had to buy a new laptop and monitor and start my data science course online, even though I have a background in Maths/Statistics from Unilag.
However, I'm of the view that it is not entirely correct to say you don't need the knowledge of statistics as some people have made us believe to become a data scientist. I suggest we take courses in basic Statistics, Bayesian Theory in particular If you have links to those courses pls do not hesitate share. |

Raxxye: Hello Guys. I want to learn programming. Someone advised Python. I downloaded Anaconda distribution in my pc, but none of the programs is able to run. The guy told me it's because of the Pentium Intel Dual core processor that my system has; that I need a new laptop with a minimum of core i3 processor. I have never done programming aside the FORTRAN77 and a couple of other programming courses I did as an undergrad many years ago. It's confusing. I need help on what to do. Go to official python website and download Python, then download Visual studio code, and check YouTube on how to set up VS Code for Python. That should work for you. |
