I didn't pay for any of the courses though,
I audited them on Coursera and used www.freetutorialsus.com to access the Udemy course for free.

Smart babe.. hahaha

Who get money to pay for courses?

My phone has 256GB internal memory, it’s serves as my external HDD and 2nd monitor while coding.

Has anyone tried plotting the covid-19 datasets visualization with Python’s Plotly? Trust me you’ll like it.

I Know pandas though, but because I'm learning from my mobile device, I can't learn the rest.

You should try and get a machine so as to practice more.

Guys,
I just finished my machine learning course.
I learned regression and classification algorithms like SVM, Linear/logistic regression,Random forest, Decision Trees,k nearest neighbor, gradient boosting and co.
Also I learnt unsupervised learning too, and also cross validation, grid search and com
I've also practiced on kaggle too.

Please, what next??

Grounded in Excel, SQL, Pandas, and Power Bi or Tableau?

Exactly
Anyway work around about this

I almost smashed my old system (pavilion dv6000) cos of MySQL installation, MySQL workbench wasn’t among the packages download and I tried to do that manually but to no avail but now that I’ve changed my system to a 64 bits, the installation was super easy for me.

Blesser28:

Have done that but it kept leading me to MySQL 8.00 the trail version
Unlike the 5.20 i use on tutorial vidéos

I guess your system is a 32bits type.

Guys pls I need help o,I downloaded a set of data on global Corona virus cases, from Jan till may first, but I noticed the value of new cases are added to the previous day cases just like Jan 1 = 10,Jan 2=15 i.e 5 new cases this goes on till may first.

when I converted the data to pivot table the total value got over bloated, imagine getting global case as 76 million, cos of repetition ,pls how can I get the figures for only the changes in new cases so that I can get the actual figure after summing everything.

I do hope someone help out. This is Excel..

I didn’t bother to go through that wahala, I just renamed the last column to “Total” and that’s the total of all the columns.

Webscrape as in?

You can scrape any website with Power Bi and Pandas, you don’t need to download the dataset, all you have to do is copy the URL.

You can go on YouTube and check how to easily get this done.

P.S. You can check YouTube for tutorials.

And I also want to download some excel videos on YouTube and have it permanently saved on my PC, is it possible pls?

You can install IDM on your system, with that you’ll be able to download any YouTube video, just go on YouTube and click on any video of your choice, on the upper right corner you’ll see a download button.

If that doesn’t work for u, u can copy the link of the video you want to download, then google search “save from net” click the link, paste the copied link in the dialogue box, a download button will automatically show on your phone or system screen.

With a simple google search you can easily get an answer to most of your questions.

Because those are the only ones that failed requirements. My SQL server met the requirement.

I’ve installed and uninstalled MySQL more than 3 times already, I couldn’t find MySQL workbench after the last 2 installations, I think 32 bits system software requirements are difficult to met.

I’ve also tried Microsoft SQL, unfortunately i couldn’t find 32 bit

Nice one however on Standard practice it’s not advisable representing a view on pie chart if you have categorical variables with more than 5 dimensions.
Thanks, But this is my first time using Power Bi.

Tried plotting graph with Seaborn but it wasn’t successful I guess there was a problem somewhere, so with the help of @mcemmy0z I was able to save the new dataset in CSV format then I did the visualization with Power Bi. I believe there’s still much to learn as far as Data Science and Machine Learning is concerned.

Yesterday I tried plotting a barchart with Matplotlib and Seaborn but the x axis was somehow squeezed so I decided to load the dataset into Power Bi, I tried to Group the Country/Region column but it’s affecting other columns.

Lemme give you example
If you are to group a particular column, the column has to have some repeating values in them. eg, countries from the Corona virus. Which also have regions, confirmed, deaths, and recoverd.
So if you are to plot on this to give u a more clearing values you have to group them.
data.groupby(['country'])['confirmed, 'death', 'recoverd'].max()

You can first group the countries alone to confirm if your countries column is ok. data.groupby('countries').max()

Using datetime, first pass the date to datetime series
data.groupby('date')['confrimed', 'death', 'recoverd'].max()
Thanks so much, really appreciate this, I’ll give it a try later, machine is down for now.

It’s quite unfortunate that I’ve been getting errors.
I need help concerning this, I want to have a total column of each row as well so that I can ignore the dates and plot a graph of each country and total number of deaths.

Thanks

The problem is that I want to group and aggregate the country/region column so that each country will fall on one row instead of multiple rows

I dropped the province/state, lat, and long column as well.

@ejiod and others here, have you ever considered working remotely for foreign based companies? Though am a baby data scientist but am looking forward to working remotely with those kind of companies for I believe their pay is good compared to what one might be getting here.

As a software developer working remotely for a US tech company, I am paid well (circa $5k) and I live in Nigeria. Do I wish to immigrate to Canada? the thought used to cross my mind but since I got my remote job, my people I perished the thought. I even used to watch @whizqueen videos on YT (she used to be my neighbor in Surulere so I know am reach house) but not anymore.

Baba I aint going to any Canada or any foreign country at least permanently. if I want to collect fresh air , I can travel briefly and return or I go on company expense during our yearly retreat which is most times in Europe. Visa issues for me is the only time I hate my nationality and the green passport I carry.
$5k in Nigeria is not beans with $1 == #420 now and likely to increase.
Brethren just keep praying make oil fall on your head and you make it anywhere you are. Clearly Canada isnt heaven. I prefer heat (I can put on my AC) than subzero cold.

To each man his own.

Peace.

Hi, I’m a Data Scientist and I’ve been looking forward to moving to either Canada or the US anytime I have the opportunity, but with your post here I don’t think that’s much more important, if you don’t mind I’d like to DM you.

No skill is actually a waste sha. Some years ago, out of boredom, I started using Mavis Beacon typing tutor to whirl away time anytime I had nothing doing. I became so good and very fast with typing without looking at the keyboard overtime.
Learning to use Python for data analysis would have been more difficult for me if my typing skill was whack. I'm glad I learnt to type smiley

Till today am still angry with my whack typing skill, more reason I want a system with an integrated keyboard backlight.

Yes DELL, don’t know why I fell in love with this brand, HP doesn’t appeal to me anymore and aside that I like machines with integrated backlight but most of them are super expensive, make God help us.

Let’s start a challenge guys.... gonna be sharing data on covid 19. So we can all analyze and predict the data.
Tools to be used:
Python/R
Pandas
Tableau,
Rapid miner
Power BI
Seaborn/plotly
Plotly
Any machine learning model based on you
Excel too....

Guys let me know your thoughts.

Sadly I don’t have a system for now, for those that doesn’t have a system like me, if you’re using iPhone u can download “Carnets” on app world, I’ve been using it for the past few months.

So @ejiod what’s the task pls? What should we do with the dataset?
